Very disappointed in the whole experience. Called a few days prior to request an appointment, was told walk ins only and to send them the design. We emailed the design and came in before 5 pm as instructed and were told to give them 45 min and that the tattoo was easy and no problem at all. Came back after 45 min and sat another hour while some girl drew at the front, not even answering the phone so our artist had to keep going back and forth and could not even set up. Then another one jumped in and was trying to find a stencil to print when we clearly already gave him the tattoo we wanted. After sitting and waiting he suddenly said this would need to be an appointment tattoo and quoted us $100 more an hour than originally told and we were canceled. This is the first time my family has gotten together since COVID because we all live in different states and because the gentlemen that jumped in (which we didn’t want in the first place) had to pick up his daughter at 6, we were rushed out and told to make an appointment.

I went with my daughter but she was going to have an industrial piercing done. The shop was very clean. The girl who did my daughters piercing was super nice talked her through step by step what was going on did her piercing and gave her great instructions on care the price was very reasonable. If youre looking to get some artwork done or the piercing you really should stop in and check them out.

Really good work here! The artists are talented. I had Mike as my artist and he gave me my bullets tattoo that says love. He was a great conversationalist and very funny. I really enjoyed my experience with him as my artist. He is sooo talented and really knows his colors. The way he made my tattoo look shiny and 3D is amazing. His use if shading and blend of colors really made my tattoo pop. Also, his prices are unbeatable! If you ever go here, check him out! Thank you so much Mike! Back during the Nov 2020 Friday 13th flash I had gotten a moth on my neck. Mike was the one to do it and let me say, not good. After months of never being able to get a reply from him to get it fixed I had almost given up. BUT! I walked in last week, was greeted kindly, and talked to Mark, the new WONDERFUL owner. He got me in within the week. He fixed my tattoo on the house and with a gentle, precise hand turned it into a beautiful piece of art that I can now proudly show off! I definitely recommend this shop! They take care of their customers and create beautiful pieces of art that the artists and customers can be proud of! I will definitely be back!

Whether youre there to get a custom designed traditional full sleeve or you and your love want cute spur of the moment matching tattoos, the artists at Carson St Tattoo are there get you to want you want. Dont let the heavy metal and many tattoos they have intimidate you, theyre refreshingly respectful and there for there customers. Id suggest showing them the same courtesy though, loud mouth drunks coming in off the street will quickly be shown the door.

I went to get a tattoo here today and me and my boyfriend walked in and there was a man on the couch who greeted us. We stood around for a few minutes until he asked us what we came in for. It turns out that he was the owner and I told him I wanted a tattoo on my arm and I showed him the design and he said its going to be around $250 or $300. I said that price would be way too high for what I wanted and he looked annoyed and said well let me talk to the tattoo artist and we both went over to him and the artist quoted me 150 which was perfect for my price range. He also said that the design wouldnt take him long and it wasnt worth charging me that much. I feel like the artist did an amazing job but he told me that the owner pulled him aside before my tattoo and was mad because he said that the artist in charge me enough. Also my boyfriend had to use the bathroom and asked where it was and whenever he got there it was just an open door to outside for the men to use, they only had a womens restroom. One of the other artists came up from downstairs during my tattoo and was talking about how filthy the basement was. My experience there with the artist was great but the owner in my opinion was very unprofessional and rude.

Not a single soul came to greet myself and friends. Went in looking for an artist to do a cover up. Two individuals walked in and went straight to the back without saying a word. Call me old fashion but a simple hello goes a long way.

This place was the BEST! other tattoo parlors weve been at have taken well over an hour for simple tattoos (literally a small cross or something little), all 6 of my friends came in & they had us all in & out in under an hour. the guys who worked there were so sweet & made us very comfortable. the prices were great & we will definitely be back!

People who were here when it was the Flying Monkey were better. Tattoos I got today were good, but the pricing was ridiculous. Two mainly line work tattoos for $300. Both no larger than the palm of a hand. All in all work was good, but artist only cared about the profit.

My girlfriend has had work done previously at this shop so I decided for my next tattoo I would go there based on her result from the artist Eric. So yesterday I went in and was very impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the shop. They were very friendly and were quick to help us and get the process rolling. Yesterday i got lettering done on my forearm by the owner of the shop that couldnt have came out any better, its exactly what I wanted with fantastic line work. My girlfriend got a mandala by the artist Matt that came out perfectly symmetrical with very clean line work and excellent shading. Keep up the good work guys, I will definitely be returning.

If you are looking for a small fine lined tattoo do NOT go here. I asked for Faith to be written on my wrist. The lines are not straight and it’s super thick. Cosimo spent no more than 4 minutes max on it cuz he was moving so quickly. He rushed through it clearly not taking it seriously. I would post a picture of it if I could attach one. I literally had another tattoo artist look at it and he asked if it was done by someone’s foot. If that doesn’t say something, I dunno what does. His other work seems great, but small detailed work is definitely not his forte

Mike, the owner, did my tattoo and I love it. The people were friendly and did absolutely everything they could to get people in for their tattoo. Showed him what I wanted and he immediately told me that he could draw me one much better and he didnt fail to satisfy. Love it. Definitely going again.

I called on Saturday asking to get a tiger tattooed on my forearm. The man that answered the phone suggested I talk to the artist which was great so he could get a picture in his head before I arrived. He gave me an honest answer saying he did more traditional tattoos instead of realistic. I was willing to browse and see my options so he said come on down and well see what we can do. It took him about ten minutes to find the perfect picture for me and I was ecstatic. He sketched it in reasonable timing and it looked phenomenal as a stencil on my arm so I was beyond pumped. Dave was my artist and I couldnt have asked for a better one. He kept me distracted by talking and our conversations were actually a lot of fun. He didnt have a heavy hand at all and I can honestly say it was the best tattoo Ive received, experience wise and actual tattoo wise. I would highly suggest this place because Ive never had a bad experience, Ive only had the best.

I was really nervous going to get my libre piercing done, but the piercer Nick was very reassuring and did an amazing job. And the brothers Mark and Brent Boller are amazing tattoo artists. Great staff and reasonable prices. I will most definitely be going back

Went there to get my septum pierced. Red explained everything to me as he did it, made me feel very comfortable, he wasnt rough at all. Awesome man, Im so glad I went there and had the chance to meet him! My girlfriend and I ended up getting tattoos the same night, matching. He did an amazing job, not too heavy handed, very friendly, made us feel comfortable. He took great care of us. We will definitely be going back and would recommend them to anyone!

Just recently moved to Pittsburgh and had a friend get me a tattoo as a birthday present. The staff was very poliet and professional. They were very informative on any questions I had and fun to be around :) the facility had an awesome vibe and was very clean. The tattoo Zack did was everything I wanted an more (I got a screech owl sitting on a branch). My artist kept me comfortable the whole time. In general, you can tell the staff really cares about their customers. I will be going back and will recommended this place to others. Thank you so much for a super rad time and tattoo!!

Had a great experience with a walk in piercing

These folks are great. My wife and I walked in, no appointment and inquired about tattoos and walked out about 2 hours later with some beautiful new ink. Both Zack (wifes) and Danny (mine) are the best. I only had the concept for mine (tribute/dedication to my mom) and he did an amazing job putting it together.

Just got my tattoo there. Staff was nice and polite. The guy that did my tattoo kept telling me thank you for being such a good client and not squirming or whining. I would definitely recommend!

Me and my gf went got tattoos, both of our artists were professional and friendly and did a damn good job with ours. The atmosphere was nice, the shop was tidy and clean. Sorta felt like home. My artist in particular, Julie, did some great free hand line work where the stencil was missing a piece. It lines up with the rest of tattoo

I went with my girlfriend to get a tattoo. Her FIRST tattoo. She wanted a simple crescent moon tattoo, just line work. The woman tattoo artist took it upon herself to put other things in that were not mentioned. Now my girlfriend hates it. And sadly wants it off of her body. If I can stop at least one person from going here i have done a justice.

I got my second tattoo at flying monkey when I was 18 years old. I had no idea what I was talking about or what script I wanted the text in so if I were to go anywhere else, I wouldve ended up with a permanent mistake. They talked me through it, showed me different ideas (without shooting mine completely down like most shops do), and they were some of the coolest dudes Ive ever met. The script on my leg ended up looking absolutely perfect and is still to this day perfectly legible and the ink still looks brand new. I highly suggest this shop and honestly any artist that works there. Oh and the owner is great too... all great people!

My fiance and I have gotten our last 5 tattoos here... the artists really listen to what were looking for in our ink!

Ive gotten three tattoos from the owner so far and I would recommend this place over all the shops in Pittsburgh. I had a great experience here!! Got my nose and belly done and I honestly was super nervous. I was pierced by Missi, she was really calm with me (even though I was a hot mess) and reassured me to just breathe. Welp it was over in a second and wasnt even bad! I love love my new piercings!

I got one regular cartilage piercing as well as a daith, and I loved my experience! The piercer was very sweet and friendly, everything looked very sanitary, and I found the price of my piercings to be very reasonable!

I get my tattoos done by Julie. She is amazing. Great work and she also talks to you. Most are rude and quiet.

I got a small, text only tattoo here a few months ago. I dont live in Pittsburgh myself, so I went here only based on a friends recommendation while I was visiting (although she had never been here either, shed only heard pretty good things). The parlor itself is fairly nice. They have individual stalls for tattoos/piercings for a little privacy, and everything is clean. The service, however, was not what I would have expected. I waited a good 15 minutes to even get a Hello, and the guy who eventually helped me didnt seem very happy to be bothered. In any case, we sat down, I told him what I wanted, and we worked out a design I was happy with. He didnt have me sign any waivers, never even checked my ID (and I look pretty young), before taking me back. He was quite rude, and had a very heavy hand. The tattoo I got from him hurt worse than my other three combined. When everything was done, I went to pay and was informed they do not accept credit cards. I dont know if they ever put a sign up about that, but when I was there I didnt see one. Seems like important information for things that can cost hundreds of dollars. I had to send my friend out to an ATM to get cash instead. She and I left being equally disgusted by the poor customer service. Its unfortunate, too, because once it healed up, the tattoo looks great. I get compliments on the smooth writing all the time. The artist was just so rude and forgettable, I dont even remember his name.
