Every time I have taken my old 98 Corolla to Lesters, I have been treated with respect and kindness. The guys, especially Frank, take the time to call and update me on the progress of whatever work is being done, and they never ever try to up-sell me or talk me into doing anything extra that doesnt need to be done. They work with me when money is tight, and I trust that they will be honest with me every time. I cant imagine going anywhere else!

Best auto shop in PGH. Just honest hard working old school car dudes.I took my car to a place that wanted to charge me $600 and a list of things I didnt think needed done such as new breaks when mine were mostly new. Took it to Lester for a second opinion and he talked me out of things the other shop said needed done and went into detail why my car was in good shape. Ended up spending $90 for an inspection instead of $600.Ill be a customer here for life. Just dont expect any BS or fancy treatment. Be a normal nice person and theyll be nice back. This isnt a giant national chain, just some hard working locals.Ignore the 1 star reviews below. They seem like some real jerks and Lester will toss it right back if you are rude. Hes the only mechanic I trust because he tells it like it is and wont lie to make a few quick $.

Lester Yon is the ONLY mechanic I ever recommend. The shop is fast, professional, and honest. Good people. When my car was damaged around the corner in a hit and run, Lester had a used replacement part for me within 24 hours and made my car road legal for $70. I was shocked! I would have paid more!When another chain garage insisted my rear brakes were locked up and yadaya and I needed over $1000 in repairs, I brought my car to Lesters and was outta there with brand new brakes, roters, etc.. for a fraction of the cost. I was thrilled!This year will be my third inspection at Lester Yon Auto Repair. I just called today, a Monday, and was given the option to drop the car off Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday - WOW! With Thanksgiving next week, thats amazing.I feel confident that they will be real with me, and that their assessment and bill will be fair and reasonable. My car is getting up there in mileage, Im not even dreading it! THANK YOU LESTER YON!!!!!!

I have been going to Lesters for close to 8 years and they have always been very good to me. I moved out of the neighborhood and tried a shop closer to my new location and was unhappy so I still go out of my way to bring both of my vehicles back to Lawrenceville to Lesters. They are trustworthy and consistent.

I dont normally write reviews, but Lesters is the best neighborhood car shop you can ask for. Everybody that works there is super nice and really honest. Weve been there three times now and Lester is always great at explaining whats wrong with the car and offering the cheapest way to fix the problem. Because of Lesters, my husbands 98 honda civic lives on! Couldnt ask for a better place and hope they stay there forever!

Helpful, but just lost me as a customer by double charging me for emissions and inspection separately coming to $80, probably because I did my own work when they wanted to charge $600 for front brake pads and a tail light that cost $160 total and took 45 mins to do.Totally taking advantage of people now that money is in the neighborhood. Next time ill take my business elsewhere. You guys used to be cool, what happened?

Got a flat tire while out today. Found this garage who immediately helped us. They could not have been more accommodating, professional and most of all kind! Helped calm us though a stressful event. Five stars to these great guys!!!!

Its a very non threatening enviromenr for women.He reminds me of an old fashioned type of business where you can stop in with car problems and be met with genuine concern.Ive been going here for many years and the only fear I have is he will retire one day! Definitely one of the nicest mechanics Ive met. Found this place by looking at reviews and they were all spot on. Nice, honest guys that tell you like it is, explain in detail what the problem is and can/should/shouldnt be dont about. Prices are very fair. Only problem would be they seem to always be busy and it can sometimes be hard to find a place to park your car since its right in the middle of a busy area. Overall, highly recommended.

Lester has come to our rescue a few times! Someone has even come to our house when our battery died to give us a jump! Ive had inspections done with Lester and no work was done with out a phone call first. Everything has been done in a timely manner at a very reasonable cost. I never worry about getting calls that 10 things need replaced when they really dont or leaving with more issues than I came with, which happened at the last mechanic we tried (more than once) and will never go anywhere else again!

Im not originally from Pittsburgh and I was always hesitant in taking my SUV to garages I am unfamiliar with in the city. However, after a recent emergency, I was forced to get a repair (radiator and transmission fluid change). A friend suggested Lester and Frank. These guys are great. Very honest, reasonable pricing and they do great work. Frank took the time to explain the issue in detail to me over the phone (even before bringing it in and getting their money) and called for my permission before purchasing any parts. If you need a repair and are wary of getting ripped off, I strongly recommend these guys. I will definitely go back if I ever need something done again.

Always get my car inspected there, even if I have a question or an issue with the car, they are always happy to help. Could ask for a better place.

When I moved to Lawrenceville I asked around for recommendations and people that had lived in the neighborhood for years recommended Lesters. Ive taken my car there for the past two years I havent been disappointed yet. They seem to be honest, they explain why and show me what parts they replaced - and they dont treat me like Im an idiot. Theyre usually at the shop until about 6:00, which is good for me as I generally have to pick up my car after work. I dont get the feeling, as I have with other places, that theyre trying to replace things that dont need replaced or overcharging. Theyre friendly, knowledgeable, and I cant recommend them enough to anyone in the area.

Took 2 cars over 4 years to Lester and his guys. They were always quick and never recommended unnecessary work. When they did have to do work their prices were very fair. I would always recommend Lester over any chain place.

This is my 3rd visit to Lesters Auto. I just had my car inspected this go around. I found them to be honest and reliable. Calls before he does anything costly and will give you an estimate. Inspection went very well and I am extremely satisfied. Labor cost was more than reasonable. Awesome! I found out I had a leaky tire around 4:50 on the Friday before Christmas Eve and I had to drive home 8+ hours the next day. I called Lester and he took me in at the last minute, and fixed it within a matter of minutes.Very friendly guy, he also offered Christmas cookies!

I went here twice for regular maintenance. The second time I went, work was done that I did not ask for.I agreed to pay but I expressed how uncomfortable I was with the surprise work. I was then shouted at by the owner and told to leave. I will never go back.

Just recently moved to lawrenceville and needed to get my car inspected. Told me what it needed. Got the work done by friends. Called him back to drop it off and get my stickers. Said he would stay till I got off work if I did the work he said needed done. Swung by and paper work was done in 10 minutes.
