I only take my car to Apex! These guys are kind, honest, and do excellent work. Because of the way they have treated me (even when I was driving an absolute junker) they will have a loyal customer for life!

I have been going to Apex Auto for my annual inspections for about 5 years. I was always afraid that being a young female I would be taken advantage of when it comes to car things. I am 110% confident that I will never be ripped off here. Jason has always been very honest and thorough with what needs done to my cars and gives me a heads up on what might be needed the next year. He takes the time to explain to you why something passes or fails. I am so happy I found Apex Auto and will never go anywhere else in Pittsburgh!

I recently had my windshield replaced at a different shop and came to Apex to get my inspection stickers replaced. I had the piece of glass with the old (and still valid) stickers on it. According to the other shop, I could go to any shop that does state inspections and have these stickers replaced at cost. I made it very clear when I called to make an appointment and when I dropped off my vehicle that my stickers needed to be replaced and my car did not need to be inspected. I waited over four hours for my vehicle and was not given any kind of timeline for the service. When I called to ask how long it would be (around the two hour mark), I was told they were working on it and they would call when it was ready. When I went to pick up my vehicle, it had been inspected and new stickers had been issued. I didnt want to make a scene or short change the mechanics, so I payed for the services and left. I am not a car expert, and I am inclined to trust the professionals, especially of a place that is so well reviewed. In this case I knew exactly what I needed and asked for it and they did not deliver. I have never been kept out of the loop by a shop like this and I will not be giving them my business again.

I really liked this place in the beginning. I took my car there regularly and recommended others do so as well. I gave them positive reviews. I cant tell if the growth in business and thus expansion of employees is the issue, or if offering cheaper service in the beginning to get customers and good reviews, then price gauging once you have them is the issue. But, I went from spending reasonable amounts for things- being willing to wait a little longer for a small business- to spending exorbitant amounts for repairs, waiting even longer, and dealing with people who are either lying for money or who lack the knowledge of what they are doing. Basic knowledge.I am being intentionally vague because I dont feel like dealing with a business that feels slighted. In short, a car that should have been junked was repaired for a huge price, some repairs were charged but not done, and the next mechanic to take a look at it to repair it again said the entire bottom fell out of the car, so then more had to be paid to have someone junk it. Im talking thousands of dollars overall.In short, even if you trusted these guys in the past, if something seems or feels off, trust your gut and consider a second opinion. Especially if you have an older car.

Professional, quick to take me relative to other shops in Pittsburgh and my inspection was finished in a timely manner.

This place is amazing! I needed my car inspected on a tight schedule and they were able to get me in rather soon. They are extremely professional and explain everything to you in terms that you will understand. I feel like they genuinely cared about me and my vehicle! I really like this shop. Its a good place with regular prices, but I ran into an odd situation.I came to the shop to replace my axle. Everything went smoothly and I picked up my car. I was driving home after work and everything seemed fine.Note: I drive an automatic but I switch to half-automatic and use engine breaking a lot.As I was getting home I started losing pressure in my breaking power. It seemed very odd to me but I had to get home first. Once I got home I tried calling the shop back but received no response since they were closed already.The next day I called in the morning and explained the situation. Front desk assistant(lovely lady) let me know that they can fix the issue once I get my car back to the shop. Still no breaks though?I got it to the shop and they said they will take care of it. This took about 4 hours out of my work day and a stressful ride using emergency breaking and engine breaking. Keep in my I live in a big city where I have to maneuver and stop at many intersections.Mechanic that was fixing the problem said they did not attach the hose that runs breaking fluid. He offered meany apologies as well as free oil change and inspection. I was not very happy with that.I left the shop with a fixed car but because I did not get a positive response I had send an emailing to them explaining the situation in a bit of detail. After the email they called me back and offered to take off half of my expenses for the issues with my axel. Which came to be around $400, basically removing the cost of labor.

This place is so competent and so honest that it can be hard to get an appointment! Ive been there several times and my experience with them indicates to me that I can trust them. The people there also happen to be friendly and easy to talk to. If youre looking for skilled technicians that are personable and trustworthy, look no further.

Reliable auto shop, good prices, and great customer service. considering most folks dont have intimate car knowledge, they explained the repair in a non-condescending way. they also offer a warranty (but Im not familiar on the details?)....overall good shop, if you have to choose an auto shop in pgh, go here!

They went through my things when I dropped it off for an inspection. As low as you can get I guess, would definitely recommend anyone else but them.

I stand by the fact that this is in my opinion THE BEST AUTO body shop in the burgh.Jason runs a tight ship, and only ensures quality with his mechanics, his service, his parts shops, and does what it takes to get the service done RIGHT.Itemizing invoices and explaining the WHY in which certain components arent functioning correctly, is what makes them stand out. Never have I seen someone call me and explain to me what is going on with my vehicle like they have. YOU WILL NOT GET THAT with a dealership!Very pleased every time I step out of this place and hop in my truck, whether he put in a new exhaust system, or I got a bare bones oil change. My truck just always runs better.

Everyone that I met with and spoke to on the phone was extremely polite and welcoming. I got in for a state inspection/emissions test about a week out because I needed a Saturday apt. When my car was finished I received an automated text telling me that it was ready for pickup. A few things needed to be repaired with in 6mos-1 year and I was not pressured into completing the repairs today or at this garage. Being a young woman, it’s hard to find an automotive repair shop that doesn’t pressure us into getting parts & labor that we don’t need. I also had my dog with me and he was given treats and lots of pats. Very happy with this business!

Apex auto is the best place in the area. I have never met a more helpful auto repair/service staff in my life. Most place you call answer the phone with a tone that begs you not to inconvenience them with an issue they need to fix. Apex (Jason specifically) answers politely, explains what he thinks the issue is, and always gets you in as soon as possible. When your car has an issue during inspection, they dont go ahead and waste your money without calling you and even give you an honest opinion on when you need to get the issue repaired... I just scheduled to have my battery and brakes replaced and Ill continue to take my vehicle to Apex until further notice.

Hands down the absolute best experience I’ve ever had at an auto body shop. Mary was a charm and a pleasure to work with, taking care of all my needs and questions. Adam (one of the mechanics?) called me to explain everything about my car and what I should look into repairing and what I could get away with. He thoroughly and in layman’s terms explained everything for me so I could understand it. I will be sure to come back here for ANY auto work that I will need, and I will strongly recommend it to any and all my friends!!

Fantastic shop with WORLD CLASS customer service! My daughter goes to Duquesne and I live in Rochester, NY. She was having issue with her car starting and they went above and beyond to accommodate her and get her seen same day. They did a thorough job checking electrical, alternator and battery and had her on the road same afternoon, They even stayed past closing time so she could come and pick up her vehicle. Friendliest shop in town I have no doubt.Any parents out there wanting a trusted service center for their kids at school, dont hesitate at all bringing your vehicle to Apex.Job well done!

These guys know what theyre doing and they dont push you to get extra stuff done if you dont need them. I always had a great experience there. Once, one of my tire kept leaking air and they did everything they could to fix it but the tire needed to be changed. Instead of having me wait a week to get the correct tire, they recommended that I go to a tire place not too far from them. I thought that was really nice of them to not make me wait, it shows they care about your needs, IMO. Their price are very reasonable.

Ive used Apex three times now....friendly service....courtesy from everyone there. They can help for almost any issue. They are occupying a place that a prior owner also had good service. I dont think Apex is Great with a lot of bigger car issues but they are honest enough to say so and help you get to na dealer etc. Very nice people and knowledgeable.

They did exactly what they said theyd do, looked at it when they said they would, did the diagnostics I had approved, and then addressed the problem that my car wouldnt start. Beyond that, the mechanic explained the various possible reasons, chose the least expensive to try, and when it worked suggested what my future options were. I trust them. You cant say that about every auto repair shop.

AWESOME SERVICE!!! great price. -- A/C Experts! --I had an a/c that would not blow cold air. I called APEX and they were able to fit me in the schedule two days later. The price they quoted me for the diagnostic is what I was charged on the day. The guys at APEX found the problem and fixed it in less than one day. I was charged for the diagnostic, repair, and freon; and thats it. No extra hidden fees or surprises. JUST GOOD SERVICE for honest prices. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Apex was helpful and straightforward with there service. Recently registered my car in PA, always nervous when consulting a new auto mechanic, but Apex made it easy. I drive a 2000 Honda CRV and I took it to Apex when I encountered an intermittent no-start issue. It turned out to be a very difficult and unusual problem to solve with many bumps in the road and unexpected turns in the process of figuring out exactly what was going on. Adam poured his heart and soul into fixing the problem and he never gave up. He kept me up to date and gave me all the details with daily phone calls. Everyone at Apex goes above and beyond for their customers. I won’t take my cars anywhere else in Pittsburgh.

Use of bathroom is an issue:I was 100% prepared to give this place five stars. I went back today for the second time this week to deal with A/C problems. The tech I worked with was fantastic! Jason, the owner, was concerned about accident (slip and fall) liability since his bathroom for customers is behind the shop area and customers must pass through the shop floor to get to it. He wanted to know why I needed to use the bathroom so many times when I was there. As a female customer, I was shocked by this question. I am not in the business of revealing to men I dont know what I do in the bathroom. I was there on Monday for three and a half hours. For the benefit of everyone reading this, I did use the bathroom three times during that morning. Heres why: 1. I wanted to brush my teeth. 2. I wanted to pee and change my tampon. 3. An hour later, I needed to change tampons again because it was the first day of my period. I do not have an ounce of pride or an ounce of shame, so I told Jason this directly and honestly. He immediately threw his hands up and said, I dont need to know that. In an effort to be fully transparent, I felt he needed the whole truth since he brought up the bathroom visits with me. If you are a woman needing car repair and maintenance, you should be aware of my experience as a female customer with Apex Automotive.

Got a flat tire and while they didnt stock them the mechanics worked fast to get what I needed to the shop and had me out the door the next day. Had some issues with the TPMS sensor and had to bring it back but they werent dismissive of my problem and were diligent about getting it solved.

The early signs of shoddy workmanship were apparent when the mechanic forgot to physically sign-off on my cars inspection. The receptionist then handed me the wrong set of keys to my car. A few weeks after I got my oil changed at Apex, I noticed that car began leaking oil. I took my car to a certified Mazda mechanic and he informed me that whoever did my last oil change screwed it up somehow. Convenience > quality
