I went to Rising Sun on a recommendation by my neighbor. I am fairly new to the area and don’t have a go-to mechanical shop. I had a wheel bearing going bad on my Toyota Avalon. Venessa was more than helpful and knocked my socks off with her expertise, customer focus and promptness solving my issue. I now have a go-to shop I can trust right down the street. I would like to say, thank you for treating my grandmother with fairness and trust. It is really hard these days to find a mechanic that is honest to the elderly. When my grandmother was taking me to work, her 2008 Toyota Corolla started spurting. I told her to take it to Rising Sun immediately, as I know this is the place she takes her car for repairs and oil changes. I called and she spoke to Roger about the problem and if they had any openings and he said to bring it in no problem we will help. Vanessa looked at the diagnostics for her car and told her immediately what was wrong with it, without trying to upsell any other unnecessary repairs. For the time we arrived to the car running like brand new, only took them 45 minutes. It was very professional and efficient service and the bill was worth every penny. They do not over charge, and do not take advantage of people. I can see why they are extremely busy all the time and seeing all types of people pulling up to get repairs and maintenance for their car. Keep up the good and honest work! Thank you!

After taking my car to three different mechanics for an AC issue, Rising Sun found the problem and saved me $800!! All done within an hours time! They ordered the part for me, and I will be taking it back for her to install. She even took the time at my first diagnostic visit, to clean my dirty headlights, which I didnt even ask her to do. But in doing so, probably saved my life considering how dimly I could see out of them! Highly recommend Rising Sun!!

I have a rare 2009 Suzuki ZX4 Crossover and the mechanics at Rising Sun Automotive give me excellent service on this vehicle. Suzuki stopped selling their cars in the U.S. in 2013 but this shop has always been able to obtain parts for my car. They have reasonable rates and are highly recommended.

I dont know where to start. From the comfort you get talking with Vanessa (knowing she will never do you wrong) to her above and beyond services! As I was leaving work to head to rising sun for an oil change & noise issues my car wouldnt start... I called to let them know I was waiting on a tow (which work was only about 15 blocks away from the shop, thankfully) and with ZERO hesitation Vanessa said hold tight Ill be right there to give you a jump! I mean how amazing is that!?!? She jumped my car and heard the noise I mentioned on the phone and immediately knew it was the alternator. She is THE smartest and sharpest mechanic I have ever come across. I can get discounts through AAA with other shops in the area but I refuse to take my car anywhere else. And the prices are already honest and affordable. Vanessa is a people person and can really make the stresses of car repairs go away and make you feel at ease. And as a female (no offense guys) I have never felt more comfortable with a mechanic. I could go on for days about Rising Sun, to say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them is an understatement! Excellent customer service. The dealership and other mechanics couldn’t identify my brake issue, Vanessa took a look at it right away and fixed it immediately at an extremely reasonable price. Vanessa said the noise was the water pump. It is a big job. I should take it back to who replaced it in 2017. I did, they gave me a price $170.00 above what she did the work for. For over 10 years we have been going to Rising Sun Automotive to help us keep our Toyota running well. It is now upwards of 300,000 miles and in its 23 rd year as a daily driver. They really know Japanese cars. Their prices are reasonable. You get a warranty on the work and they even honor it. They do not try to sell you on unneeded work as some shops will do. And they get the job done pretty fast too. It is an awesome shop.

5 out of 5 definitely would recommend this place!Let me start off by saying my car is my baby, I don’t like taking it to small shops since I’ve had bad experiences with my other cars in the past.However, after taking my Infiniti into the dealership to get my oil changed they told me I had to get my drive belt replaced immediately and quoted me at $250 for the job. I called Rising Sun and they told me to bring my car in and they would take a look at it. Out of curiosity I asked how much the job would cost if they had to replace the belt and they quoted me at $135.Even though they are going to be closed the week of Thanksgiving they were very flexible on scheduling my appointment. A few days later I bring my car in first thing in the morning and Vanessa takes my car immediately.After about 10 minutes she comes back in with my old belt and tells me that she doesn’t see any major damage on the belt and I can drive on it for a while longer. But just to have a peace of mind she was going to replace it anyway, and told me that the cost might be less than they quoted my originally. Another 10 minutes go by and my car is being taken off the lift. When I went up to pay total came out to just over $100.Rising Sun saved me over $150 and had me out the door in 30 minutes!!I had the best experience at Rising Sun. The technicians here are very knowledgeable and expertly trained. Everyone is super friendly, and are truthful on the maintenance that you need. They won’t try to BS you and sell you service that you don’t need.This will be the only shop that is going to work on my car from here on out!!+1 for they giant teddy bears she calls dogs. Super friendly and all they wanted was to be petted!

Vanessa and Tim are masters at what they do ~ I had another mechanic tell me my engine was toast, and tried to sell me one of his used vehicles. I took it to Rising Sun Automotive because a friend, highly recommended it. My engine was not toast, they looked at my car, told me exactly what was wrong with it, and had it up and running within a day, at a most reasonable cost. They were honest, friendly, and trustworthy, the customer service was alive and well. If you have an import, Rising Sun is your shop...and they can do most little things like oil changes and regular maintenance check ups on all cars of course. I actually drive an American car but have been using Rising Sun for oil changes and the occasional emergency for over a year now - I wouldnt trust anyone else with my car! Vanessa is always super friendly and helpful and takes the time to clearly explain whats going with my car, what options I have, and their prices cant be beat. They will never try to sell you something you dont need. Its rare to find honest mechanics these days, and this shop is as good as you can get!

Not sure what just happened. My tundra started making a noise right before a big trip tomorrow. They were close to close and she says bring it in. I do. She drives around with me and hears the noise. Takes it back, puts it in the air, explains what the noise is. Tells me the it can be fixed when I get back and to not worry. Then tops off my trans fluid from a small leak she will fix when I get back. I go to pay her and she refused my money. Said just bring it back when I get back. Who treats people that nice in these days? Blown away.

This is an auto repair shop that specializes in foreign cars. They are open Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. I have used them as my mechanic for over ten years and have found them to always be fair priced and honest in their assessment. They are extremely knowledgeable about foreign cars and they are the only place I will go to have my cars serviced.

Was quoted a fair price on the phone. When I arrived, I was charged a higher price. Told they had to drive arrive around and find the part. After repair, I used a scanner to check their work when the same error code appeared, I expressed concerns. The receptionist was offended by this and became very unprofessional towards me. If you need a repair, I suggest going to a real shop where real mechanics will do real repairs with real parts.

BEST AUTO REPAIR FOR TOYOTA AND LEXUS IN PINELLAS COUNTY!! Originally, I went to the Lexus dealership in Clearwater and they quoted me $1,200 to replace my radiator. I called Rising Sun and they quoted me $385. I drove over there and was immediately seen, they reconfirmed that it was in fact the radiator that need replacement, honored their quote of $385 and had me out the door within 2 hours. OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE.
