If youre looking for a honest, trustworthy, experienced mechanic to work on your baby, look no further. Cycle Dynamics is the best in the valley, hands down. Let me tell you why. First off, Steve treats your vehicle like its his own. Second, he doesnt bullshit you, he tells you what you need to get it running again. Third, he tells you what he recommends you need (which I recommend you take his advice). Ive brought my bike to him twice, and was more than satisfied with his work every single time. Ive never given a Google review, but I felt the need to go out of my way and let all of you know this is the place you need to go for all your mechanical needs. Cycle Dynamics is the real deal.

Review №27

I am a brand new rider as of January this year, and who also made their first motorcycle purchase at the same time. I wanted an older bike which looked and felt great, and would make for an excellent bike to learn on. After buying the perfect model I was looking for, I wanted the ability to work on my own bike to develop a new hobby and maintain my new possession. I attempted to complete an oil change, where everything went perfectly until I over tightened my drain plug! It lead to an oil leak which I thought was a rather easy fix.. I redid the oil change, only I added a copper washer, a soft metal, to seal where I thought the leak was coming from. I still failed to solve my problem and I decided to bring my bike into Cycle Dynamics, referenced to me through a co-worker. There were some niche things about the bike I wanted to have looked at anyway, so it fell into perfect timing. I showed my bike to Steve, told him about my attempted oil change, and that I also wanted to have the clutch lever looked at. Upon buying the motorcycle, it never had a pin to keep the lever in place, so at speed it would randomly fly completely open and Id have to extend my hand a far greater distance to bring it back into place. Steve was able to fix this with ease and the lever has never felt better, and safer, which brings me major peace of mind as a rider. I also wanted my gearshift lever looked at. I very simply had only hoped for Steve to adjust it. It had fallen off its track.. so badly it would actually rub up against the kick stand.. I would literally have to complete a half lift in between downshifting in order to completely downshift from 5th or 4th, all the way down to neutral or 1st. It was in inconsistent issue but when it was bad.. it was BAD. Where I had hoped only for my gearshift lever to be adjusted, Steve literally REBUILT the transmission. Mine was aged and corroded, completely ready to go and he went above and beyond my expectations as to how I wanted this issue resolved. Riding a motorcycle has never felt more like of a night and day change since Ive experienced the before and after of my gearshift lever. Another issue I brought to Steves attention was the rear break pedal. During a four day trip to Portland, and when my oil leak was still an issue, I was reversing my bike out of a friends garage where it was stored during our trip. While reversing, my right boot slid completely off balance from an oil puddle I hadnt realized and I dropped the bike on the rear break pedal, completely off track. It was hardly usable. Steve was able to recenter the pedal with ease and it literally preforms even better than before. Now where I went wrong with the oil change is that I put a 2 crack in the oil pan from over tightening. Which meant it wasnt a problem I was going to solve on my own as a novice to engines. Steve was able to diagnose where I went wrong within a day. I visited the shop on Thursday, January 20th, which means on a Friday, Steve was able to place an order for a brand spankin new oil pan, have it delivered, and execute all of the aforementioned labor by Tuesday, January 25th (this is with two weekend days in between, mind you), all at an extremely fair rate. The aftermath of my Cycle Dynamics experience is that I have never felt both happier and safer as a rider on the road which, to me, should two of any riders priorities. And after actually having dealt business with Steve, I feel much more qualified to leave a review to encourage new customers to bring their business to Steve as well, rather than others who are too timid to do so after being scared off by a couple of loving dogs who wouldnt harm a fly. In which case I would put into question your willingness to get on a motorcycle in the first place.

I have a 2002 Honda VTX1800. I’m also a newer rider as well. If you want a true professional that is actually passionate about motorcycles & doing the right thing for the customer and your bike, then Steve is the only guy you need! I found him because of the awesome reviews he has. I took my bike in originally to have it tuned. He was straight forward and told me what to expect when he was done. He was spot on! Fast forward one year (today) I’m preparing for a long ride out of state and didn’t want to worry about anything other than riding while I was gone. He replaced both tires with Dunlop’s, he happened to notice that the fork seals were just starting to leak. I asked him to do a fork job. He told me about these upgraded springs I could get that would give me an even better ride. We talked about it, he explained it to me in a way that I could understand. It made perfect sense to me for what I wanted out of my bike. I said let’s do it then! While he had it all apart he noticed the back brakes needed to be replaced, called me and it made sense to do it now versus waiting and bringing it back later.Bottom line is like I said in the beginning, he is passionate about doing the right thing for you AND YOUR BIKE without any pressure of replacing everything. He works on it like it is his bike!P.S. the bike rides BETTER than new now!

Satisfied Customer : I recently took my 1983 CB650 Nighthawk to Cycle Dynamics for a complete top halve engine overhaul, ( valve job, new rings etc..) There are not many shops in the valley who would attempt such an undertaking with such an old bike with part availability being limited and for fear of opening up a can of worms when working on an old bike such as this. However, Steve seemed very willing to attempt this project and was very patient while we waited for parts to arrive to be able to complete the work needing to be done. After he disassembled the bike he showed me the condition of the parts needing to be replaced and explained, thoroughly, his game plan for restoring the bike to as good as or better than new running condition. His expertise in what he explained and does led me to complete confidence in his ability to bring life back into to my near dead sport bike which was what I was hoping for when I took it to him for the much needed repairs. The whole process took nearly a month to complete, due to waiting on parts, but the end result was well worth the wait as my newly restored Nighthawk runs better than she ever did before. I am certain that Steve went the extra mile needed to ensure that it did run as good as it does and that he does this with ever undertaking he gets involved with. He truly takes pride in the final outcome which means a great running bike to me and others who rely on him to make it so.His fee was very reasonable and I was not charged for extras I added in during the process. Thanks again Steve for all your help with my bike.Alan H.

I am a relatively new rider and held onto my friends Ninja 300 for him only to find out my little brother knocked it over when I wasnt around and there was some cosmetic damage on the left side. Usually it would cost almost $1000 to fix (replacing new fairings, decals, etc.). Steve did a phenomenal, quality job and managed to pull it for a little over half the price. Cycle Dynamics is a first rate shop. Steve isn’t the typical replace parts until it runs mechanic. The fuel delivery problem with our 2003 GSXR 1000 was correctly diagnosed before any parts were replaced. I was contacted with progress updates throughout the entire repair. When a faulty fuel pump was found to be the problem, Steve was able to locate, test and install a good used pump, which saved us almost $400. The GSXR 1000 engine is the power plant for our Modlite dirt track race car. After the fuel pump was given a clean bill of health, Steve went over the rest of the car with a fine tooth comb and found several other problems that needed to be fixed. I was notified of the problems and ask if I wanted the items fixed before they were repaired. The car was placed on the dyno, proper operation was verified before being returned to me. The GSXR engine gained a ton of horse power and torque. Last but not least, the car was returned clean, no greasy finger prints, all fasteners, cables, wiring were put back where they belong. Highly recommended.
