Visited on a docile Thursday midday. Couple of the shops were already closed, so it felt like my only option was pizza from Freak Brothers. It was pretty good, would eat again. Mostly, the atmosphere of The Churchill is great. Would totally visit again, and I think itd be a fantastic place for a drink in the evening.
My friends took me here while I was visiting from out of town and I loved every aspect of it. The whole aesthetic was extremely fun and the shade and misters made me completely forget it was 100°+ outside - honestly, it felt extremely comfortable. We got beer, cocktails, and tacos and everything was delicious. I could definitely spend multiple hours here and will definitely be back!
Super cool place downtown. Glad they host an event every Saturday that allows small businesses to sell products. Will definitely be back!
One of my favorite spots in Downtown! I was so excited when this opened a couple of years back. I feel like Arizona struggles with cultivating culture/community/togetherness and opening places like this really helps! So versatile in the food/drinks they offer, great little local shops and events happening regularly, and I even had my girlfriends surprise 30th birthday on their upper level not long after they opened! I hope once kids can be vaccinated that they will bring back the board games, corn hole, yard games, etc. because it was great to have that - made it more kid/family friendly if you want to have a drink and relax but also bring your nephew/kid/etc.
The Churchill is so chill and so cute. Theres plenty of open air seating available. Theres plenty of food options available. We opted for the tacos and grabbed a lemonade and good for you banana ice cream on the way out.The shops are so cute. We picked up some cool stickers and a shirt from StateFourtyEight. Theres also several lifestyle shops that sell art prints, jewelry, and small home decor items.A good place to grab lunch with a friend or bring a laptop and have a working lunch break.
Nice, relaxed vibe. Pretty comfortable outside dining and day drinking on a 95° day. More food variety would be welcome.
This place is so unique/fun. Love the community seating with multiple food/drink options. Great for our large group. It was a very hot day middle of summer, but it was shaded with fans. Definitely recommend. I walked there, but the rest of my group found close parking that they paid for with an app. Downloading the app was a bother but then they could extend time without going back to their cars. Felt like a safe area, very lively.
Cool spot in downtown Phoenix. Really brings its own feel as a courtyard of long tables is surrounded by bars and restaurants. Around the side you can find stairs to the 2nd floor. Place is new clean and hip with the crate style architecture. I also really like the retail shop near the front that showcases multi tome artists around Arizona.
Came in for a game event that was using the Churchill as a venue, and I have to say I had a blast. The Churchill was clean, smelled amazing, was beautifully lit. The drinks and food we had were AMAZING. Yes, its not on the cheap side however the service we received and the quality of food and drink was definitely worth it.
Really cool place with a bunch of shops and restaurants in shipping containers. It is close to the university so there are always lots of cool young people around.
I love the Churchill. One of downtown Phoenix landmarks. The vibe, the shops, the food the music.. Need i say more? Anyone living or visiting AZ has to stop by The Churchill! Also went on the last sat of the month and they had a really cool night market. So fun and its happening again on the last Sat in Aug! So many cool artists and vendors who all have so much talent!! Must go!
Great open air concept! It isnt an enclosed building so air moves through, has landscaping inside. Beautiful to be with the trees. Parking lot across the street makes this a prime spot in downtown Phoenix. Freak bros pizza is the jam.
I loved the relaxed atmosphere and great food choices. Fun place to hang out with friend. Also the dog- friendly patio is a bonus!
Multiple restaurants/bars in one location. Community tables. Great for groups!Accessible entrance. Metered parking nearby.
Kind of a cool place. Cute little shops, lots of music, lots of happy people. Wonderful scents. It is a little pricey but dont let that deter a visit
We just love the Churchill, we come here for drinks all the time. Great place and super fun, great drinks. Highly recommend.
Love this place! Cool vibe, theyre pet friendly, and they have great food and drinks.
Cool little spot to hang for a drink or snack before or after an event. It’s going to be HOT during the summer based on the open air design. There’s a beer bar. Wine “bar” that’s really more of a shop. And cocktail bar. Couple different food options like tacos sandwiches or pizza. Community style picnic tables so you could even possibly make new friends.
Definitely hip and trendy, I would not say the food selection is amazing but what we did have was some egg sandwiches and they were really good. Huge bar a Mexican food place. Been a place that served acai bowls. Was let down with the lack of options and the ability just to get a glass of water. The simple things youve become accustomed to are not always the best there. But a great place to meet friends huge tables huge outdoor areas. Great for people watching
Great atmosphere. Good food. Good drinks. One of my favorite places to hang out.
Really great vibe! But there’s limited food at night. If you also prefer ac this probably isn’t for you.
Friendly, funky atmosphere makes for a pleasant dining and shopping experience.
Very cool place! Love how is open to the air yet covered. We picked a perfect night to go during a monsoon, it was awesome!
Great idea on the use of shipping containers. Love the atmosphere. The vendors need to work on getting their food to the level of that atmosphere. Our lunch was OK although not enough to bring us back. Will try another food vendor in the future before Im ready to make this a destination that remains on our listFour stars for the atmosphere
This place is impressive and inspirational in many different ways! All the businesses in this marketplace are incredibly passionate about their craft and dedicated to quality ingredients. They have a strong sustainable business model and minimize their footprint as much as they can. I had the pleasure of trying two of the food options so far and they are worth every penny!! Foxy Fruit Acai Bowls and Smoothies are always appealing and delicious with all vegan and gluten free choices available! Freak Brothers pizza provides options for almost every type of diet including vegan and vegetarian! Come here and feel the love this place puts into each store!!
Excellent venue. Great food, bar, and service!
Very relaxed vibe. The people are friendly and the food is delicious. A few different options in food and drinks. They had a DJ so there was light music while we enjoyed our meal and just hung out for a little bit. A nice place to visit while you are downtown phoenix taking a stroll through the art district.
This place IS Hidden Gem. They have great pizza in here.
It is a place of chill atmosphere and good vibes. You can go and get yourself some food and a drink while listening to some tunes over speakers on a weekday. Enjoy the deck upstairs which offers wifi and a piece of view of the Roosevelt District. Located in the heart of Roosevelt, lies a popularity like no other. Pets are welcome just please do make sure they are behaved😊
So unique, open, welcoming atmosphere. Great time.
Nice variety of food, easy to walk to, close by other bars and restaurants too.
The Churchill was one of my highlights during my trip to Phoenix. Located in the heart of the downtown phoenix, the Churchill is a perfect place for family, couples, date night, coworkers gathering. Whats unique about this place is the concept of using the reusable shipping containers to make The Chuchill. The retail stores; kitchen; restaurants; bars; washrooms are all using reusable containers. Its a cool concept and putting shipping containers into good use. Its also like a high-end food hall where there is always different food options for everyone. If some is vegetarian or vegan or some are meat eater, everyone goes to order whatever they want and they all converge and sit in a table and eat and drink and catching up. There are also board games so its family friendly. I also saw dogs, so its pet friendly. I really enjoy this place and highly recommended. Its a new growing trends with the use of shipping containers and I was glad I got to experience this at The Churchill.
Love this place! 96° outside but the weather was fine under the dining area, misters and fans in full force. Great laid back vibe with great food. Highly recommend!!!
Had a burrrito with a friend.very good and filling with the beans and rice along with a mango and guave drink that was quite good. Its an open air type environment with giangantic ceiling fans that can blow 737s off a runway moving fresh air through the place. Loved it.
This place had different bars/food stands to choose from. The atmosphere was diverse and good music.
Grabbed a pink panther frozen drink from the bar inside this place was best ever had. Pretty chill place to grab a drink and eat this place and TVs great spot to catch the game
Always a fun time hanging out with friends. Provecho has a nice variety of treats.
Looks like an amazing space. Opens today! Nice assortment of retail, restaurant and bar space. Excellent and creative use of shipping containers for the various commercial tenants. Sad that DeSoto Market across the street closed this week, but when a door closes, someone opens a window, in this case The Churchill. 👍🍺
3 food place, 2 bars, 3 clothing/artisan shops. Its a good vibe. Good quality food. Would benefit from adding a Asian food place. Preferably thai.
Nice food court with some shops. I liked the use of shipping containers as building materials.
Carne asada fries and the sourest beer I ever had!
Great wifi to work from. Lots of food options too
The Churchill is a great place to relax grab some drinks and bites to eat. For my fellow vegans, a few places offer vegan options. Enjoy!
Only has 3 food option places, but the food was good. Has 2 bars, lively atmosphere. I would go again.
Awesome vibes with great selection of food and boutiques. Nice place to drink, eat, and hang. Open air food court with art. Must visit of youre in the area.
This is the time to go. Temperature in high 60s mid 70s. Vegan a cafe for you, Mexican bring it on, Italian Pizza is available, Cheeseburger we had it also. Someone came around to wipe down and delivered and picked up. Food was fantastic we sat for 2 hours and visited. Table for 2, 4, 6, bring some together for more, recommend to all, even a wine shop and a bar, TVs around, and open air with covering. This is where the cargo containers are being put to use after retirement from the fleet.
We went here to get cocktails from Pobrecito. First, the cocktails were AMAZING! I havent seen more creative or complex combinations anywhere and the ingredients were all top shelf. The bartender Kyle was really helpful and supportive, which may sound weird but is actually really necessary when a cocktail is too outlandish to be able to guess what it will taste like. The atmosphere was super chill and comfortable. There were exciting and affordable food options from the other stands. Im really happy we decided to come here and wish we had a place like this back home.
Its a cool enough spot to host a skate ramp jam. So yah its 5 stars for me.
Very cool space that combines art studios, restaurants, bars, lounge areas, deck with live music and very modern and cool design! Definitely recommend visiting!
I still enjoy this place but wow has the music been loud lately... this is not a club. I want to hear the people across from me. This is not just me getting old.
Beautiful modern indoor/outdoor space with plenty of great lunch or after-work choices and some shops. Great tacos!
Pretty great service. You have a bunch of options, went on a Saturday evening and still was served in a timely manner. Fans cool it down ~20 degrees from normal outside temperature
Great spot to bring out of state visitors when the idea of choosing one restaurant is too much. The food we have had here is all good for the price, and overall a casually fun vibe.
I visited this spot a couple days ago. I was blown away by how the area and atmosphere of the churchill felt. They have a great selection of food to choose from. I tried about 3 different drinks: Mexican Coffee, Smoothie(Foxy Fruit), and Tacos. The quality was perfection and not expensive at all. I came when it was a sunny day there was a breeze you could feel it. Everyone there who works at the churchill was so friendly.
Place is always poppin and has great shopping and food!! Love Freak Brothers Pizza!!!
A bit pricey, cool place to hang out.
This place has become my go-to hangout spot. The food hasnt failed me, its delicious. And I dont even eat every time I go there. Lots of times, Ill just go to play the games in the common area. And thats free to do
Many options, cute place for food and drinks with friends
This place is cool! Love the concept and all the choices. It was fun to try several places at one time and see people hanging out having fun.
This was a great find after visiting the farmer’s market on a Saturday morning! I was very pleased with the ability to social distance. The security guard and staff were extremely nice. Be sure to bring cash if you want to order drinks from the bar. The bartenders were nice and willing to create custom drinks to our likings. We will definitely come back again!
Surprisingly cool for a hot summer day. Great beers
Collection of bars and snack shops housed in converted connex units stacked on each other in a roofed but open area. There are air blowers for warmer temps. Interior seating. Not intimate conversation, can be quite loud. Interesting venue though.
This place is bumping. Great place to get out with your friends and get a drink and some food. The music was a bit loud and made it challenging to hear each other at times. Not kid friendly.
Edit: 2021-04-02: stepped away in line and my table was cleared and lost part of my pizza, why? This was already a 5-star place in my book, but I decided to some context why after so many visits..... 2021-02-27 5-7pm, beyond the eclectic Roosevelt stomp sphere this lace embodies, the wonderful vendors, and kind staff. A young man cleaning tables (on a understaffed night), taking out trash, and tonight, keeping patrons from neglecting wearing their masks 😷. A small, and annoying things to patrons I’m sure. However, this person must understand beyond “just be cool, man” and “let me worry about it” that it is the businesses responsibility and duty to do so to abide by regulations to be open and stay open so that this establishment may be open and awesome. To those that don’t take it seriously, just try to understand the game that we all must play to enjoy some parts of this life in this moment. I really appreciate seeing his effort and restraint in handling this person, and I’m sure others, but for real. Thank you to whomever hired him. Keep that person employed, he’s doing the right thing even when others are not looking.
Love this place. Super cool concept. Havent been during the summer though.
