I love that we have 3 of these stores in the Phoenix Valley. They are my go to place to shop for unique fabrics and notions at really great prices. Some items are charged by the pound such as leather scraps and other fabrics and ribbons by the yard. I was able to piece enough leather scraps together for a fun renaissance vest. If you find a fantastic fabric, buy it all, the many not ever get that fabric again. Its one of a kind. This location is near the heart of Phoenix It has more than the location in Tempe. Their selection of outdoor fabric is huge. I found the most fantastic holographic fabic here. Dont miss out on seeing what new items they get in everymonth.
Nice clean store. The woman at the front counter was very helpful. All their cute fabric made me want to learn to sew
Love shopping here so much! The prices are great, and a heavenly place for a seamstress such as myself. I like making apparel and costumes and there are a lot of fun options here to get creative with. Lots of affordable trims, buttons, etc. as well. There is no limit to what you can create! I would maybe love to see a regular selection of stretch power mesh and matte spandex, but that’s just because I sew a lot of costumes where those materials are common. Even then, I’ve been able to find other fabrics here that are hard to find at other shops, like a bright blue faux fur, or some rarer colors of stretch velvet. I love the variety here. Highly recommend to other fellow seamsters!
Lots of options and affordable prices. They have sewing related trinkets like decorative jewelry, zippers, buttons, and patches along with rows of fabrics in different textures and patterns
Weve purchase too many yards of fabric to count from this staple of central Phoenix, SAS Fabrics. Youll want to go frequently as their stock does rotate out regularly. Youll find huge variety of fabrics: upholstery, blends, cotton prints, plastic, outdoor, knits, faux fur, corduroy, and the like. You will not find silk. The prices cannot be beat. If you look long enough or thoroughly enough -- youll probably find what you need. Additionally, they have high quantities of notions that a ton of fun to sort through. Go there and get inspired.
I cant believe the good reviews this place has. While they have tons if fabric, it is a nasty ghetto musty old store. The fabric is basically thrown in huge piles onto tables that you have to dig through to find what you want. Also, most of the fabrics are super low quality...probably all made in Chinese sweat shops.
This is the best fabric shop Ive ever been too and a spectacular gem in Phoenix. The employees are very helpful, know where things are and offer practical options. The fabric selection is wide, varied and good quality. Sewing accessories, notions and specialty ribbons and embellishments are worth the extra time to explore in their bins. Highly suggest a stop here. You wont be disappointed!
Sooo many options. I like the variety of handkerchiefs. Beautiful faux fur and every color button you could imagine.
Been a longtime customer still love just looking and just feeling material for texture, big time seamstress learned from My Mother and watching my paternal grandmother using her foot pedal sewing machine got me interested in sewing to this day.
SAS has EVERYTHING a fabric store should have - and more. Much, much more. The prices are fantastic. There are unbelievable bargains everywhere you look. I could have stayed there for hours and still not seen everything they have stocked in the store.I specifically went for patches/appliques - and hit the jackpot! A wall full of them. None more than $3.99 - most were .99 and 1.99. It blew me away. The employees were all super friendly. The cashier gave my grandson a small gift - made his day.I will definitely be going back.
I needed black-out fabric for our bedroom curtains. The roll I found did not have enough left on it, the 2nd had a fault that was not noticable until unrolled. Fortunately JR left his measuring station to help me get the right fabric.I know that the people working there are busy and dont have the time to help each and every customer choose what they need. I tire quickly, that he took the time to help was appreciated more than he could know. He also pointed me in the direction of other things on my list.Ive read reviews that said sometimes people there were not helpful or were rude. I cant shop there often but I have never had an experience that was unpleasant. Each person I dealt with was friendly and helpful.
Enormous collection of fabrics, fasteners and everything sewing. Two thumbs up.
Always fun to shop here. So many fabrics to choose from and great prices.
SAS Fabrics is one of the best places they have all kind of material old kind of things that are elastic I like them material because you can make all kind of things to me you can get all kind of ideas the people there I love very much because theyre very very helpful I mean helpful would not only measuring the material for you any questions you may have the answer if you cant find something thatll help you find it I love the lady at the register she is so so sweet I wish I could remember her name but she has an accent and she is really really shes really really nice shes very very helpful so I told their if not every day every other day I mean I got great ideas and they always keep the material no matter if its in season for Christmas or not its always available they always have new material that they pull out coming in and stuff so I really I really like shopping there they have really really good ideas they have a lot of stuff they have a lot of stuff its its its a seamstress dream it really is it really is thats why I like going there
I love going there its very organized and have the quantities needed for my quilting projects.
It was fine but they did not have what I was looking for. Large curtain grommets they only carry small sizes.
I am from tempe. Went to the tempe store. Had a bad experience. Went to the Phoenix store.. the SAS team was so helpful.
Loved ... Found everything I wanted!!!
My go to place when looking for upholstery, foam or outdoor fabrics. Much...much cheaper too!
This is a place to go to get enough material for your money. What is stop shopping for all your sewing needs
Disappointed because I was looking for nice wedding applicates in different colors but all I saw was old and in pieces. And the store was narrow even for a wheelchair was hard to maneuver. My sister was in a walker so I know how hard it was for her husband to move her. I guess I need to go to the other farthaway around 20 miles away.
Best place in town for fabric, and other awesome bargains☆Been coming to SAS since I was a small child
You can find just about any kind of fabric you could want here.
Good place great pricesAlso I am looking for mystique fabric wholesale if anyone knows where to find
The best selection for sewing needs in Phoenix, good service, clean, well organized. Will definitely return
Lots of great finds. Rather a treasure hunt for makers
I love this place. I come here to buy bandana material for my grooming salon.
Great place to find what you need. Although leather is not readily available there.
I LOVE this store, but today was really special because the customer service was outstanding! My husband and I were lucky enough to have a wonderful, sweet mature lady who made sure we found all that we needed. I didnt get her name but she was very helpful and kind! Cant wait to visit again...thanks SAS!
Always good fabric hunting and great prices..personnel pleasant.
I jus love this place its a wonderful candy store of fabrics and what nots!!
They have a lot of fabric but theyre not a lot of help finding what you need. I looked for over an hour, they have that much stuff. But I could only get close to what I was looking for. I dont know if the prices are good or not I think they are.
My daughter and just had the best service from a very nice woman named Marissa at SAS. She was very kind and helpful and simply a joy to be around. Thank you for making our day!
A place to buy material and fabric, elastic so you can make your own mask or clothes. Good Store.
Love this place 😍 They have everything you need for a sewing project. Its pretty organized for the amount of fabric, buttons, lace, trim and thread they have to offer. The staff are friendly and helpful and your not stuck in line for long periods of time.
So nowhere in the valley can you find the assortment of SAS Fabrics. It is very much a functional space with no frills environment but it’s fitting to the mood of the store. Let the fabrics and other merchandise be the star. I’m fine with “Sharpie on cardboard” marketing throughout the store. They usually have absolutely everything but lately they have been out of a few staples through no fault of their own. I love love love this place, the only reason it’s not five stars for me is that they have trouble enforcing mandatory masks and social distancing.
Great variety of fabrics to choose from. Has a whole section for upholstery as well. Only downside is the checkout times are usually 10-15 minute wait in line from my experience.
Great experience. Affordable prices. Employees very profesional.
Love the variety and really love the prices!
Great place! The selection of material was amazing. I went in just to browse and came out with an armful of beautiful prints. The service was fantastic as well. They were very busy. The line was long, but moved rather quickly considering the amount of customers and the orders that were placed. The employees were pleasant and welcoming.I highly recommend this store. I will most definitely be back.
They were very helpful i was looking for a zipper for my jacket the lady that help me was very nice an price was great i will recommend sas to my friends an family
Different fabrics and choices.
I love SAS Ive been going to that shop since the early 80s.
Good peoples to help u, find everything you need.
Always the best selection of fabrics and general craft supplies plus they are very helpful when I have questions.
Absolutely love SAS fabrics, 2 locations, best prices anywhere, my go to store!
Less expensive than the 19ave.store. lots more
Its a great store and really cozy. Plue i like their sassy assistant
Great quality, inexpensive notions and fabrics source for the valley. A must stop for every serious sewing enthusiast or crafter. An Arizona essential retailer.Yes, they have lots of elastic cords and pretty fabric to make stylish masks.
Great place to get fabric. They have a whole warehouse full.
Its usually slower than it has been in the past. Some of the staff can be more personable and outgoing, but otherwise it is a great place to find what you need!!!
I absolutely love this fabric store! This is the best local fabric store in Phoenix. Ive gone here whole life for every project Ive ever done and it has a great selection of pretty much any anything youre looking for!!
Horrible customer Service at this particular location in Tempe Arizona. I was not able to purchase 2 yards because the fabric had run out so they made me buy 3 yards and a quarter which I did not need. I also was very upset on how the guy cut the fabric he made a slit in the fabric and ripped it off instead of using scissors to cut the fabric. So unprofessional! My favorite sas fabric is still the one in Phoenix and willing to make the drive for better customer service.
Theres nothing like it in Phoenix! Be prepared to find almost anything sewing.
The score represents my overall experience with SAS. Normally I go to their other location, been doing so for years, but I was close to this store so I stopped in for some Halloween supplies. This is typically why I shop SAS. I come almost yearly to buy materials and fabrics for my costumes and home decor. This location seemed fine, but my expertise is really on the other shop. Basically SAS has it all. The place is large and the selection is vast so you need either a lot of time or to already know what it is you need. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable so if you get lost ask away. I can almost guarantee that theyll have exactly what you need or something so close to it youll make do without much trouble. If you design clothing, costumes, or have any need of materials this is your one stop shop. Another great institution I can always rely on.
Great selection of outstanding variety could knowledgeable personnel unbelievable selection
I like this location for its high variety and lots of color selection. I guess it carries more quantities in fabric due to its larger area, compared to the one on Tempe. Plus I love that it has a sister store right next door.
Not bad a lil pricey, but they do go some cute fabrics
I love this place! I get great fabrics and supplies for all my projects. Just wished the employees know a bit more about the products they carry. Had to ask 3 different people to ask for a specific item was located.
Their phone help isnt very good, but other than that its a great place to buy fabric of all different kinds their prices are very good
This is the best fabric store of all times. You can literally find anything here. Plus, they have low prices and very friendly and highly efficient staff. I am an artist and this is the only place I purchase canvas. The quality and weave is superior and at great prices. I think highly of this place. This is a real jewel of a place. Makes me proud to be a Phoenician.
Good place have all fabrics and good prices also staff very friendly informative and helpful
Akways a lleasure to shop at SAS fabric
Always fine what I need
This place had a HUGE selection of fabric, notions and other sewing supplies. Its not well organized so be sure to set aside time when you go ... youre not going to find anything quickly. If you take the time, and really look, your going to find excellent deals and amazing products!Next door to the main store is a smaller store that focuses on rather specific notions such as bridal lace. It was interesting looking around in this store.
I always enjoy my trips to SAS. Great variety, good quality, excellent deals, clean, organized, inspirational. Helps me to design and create projects on a small budget. Its always a fun journey that I look forward to ... drive in from the west valley.
This is the best fabric store I have ever been to! Give yourself at least 30 minutes because youll want to browse everything. The fabric bins are $2.99-$3.99 a yard. Theres also tons of fabric on the bolt. I always find what I am looking for.
Love SAS ..... always find something. It can be hit or miss..... but they have a little bit of everything.
Been shopping at SAS for years and have really enjoyed going in and being inspired by textiles. Employees are nice and I have been saved by SAS and helps with depression. Fabric yes!!
If youre serious about sewing, at discounted prices, this is the store for you! Their thread, both the all purpose and quilters is always on sale so plan on stocking up on every color. Large selection of fake fur and upholstery materials. Keep your zipper list handy, as their lengths change per trip. Are you into masks? Theyve got gorgeous ones at unbelievable prices. I also love peeking at their costume jewelry. One day rings, next chokers/necklaces, and earrings. Ask at the counter for anything you want, that you dont see, i.e., cheesecloth, wrist pin cushions, pinking shears, etc
This is the place to go when you want to find fabric and not pay retail. The selection includes high end upholstery that can retail for $50+, they sale by the pound. If youre not interested treasure hunts this might be the place for you. If the search half the fun then you can can spend hours having fun.
If youre looking for good fabrics without paying a fortune, this is the place you want to go. I was recommended by cosplayers and people that just generally enjoy making clothes. That said, if you dont know what youre doing, its not the best place for those seeking advice. But if you know what you want or what youre looking for? Theyve got a ton of variety and great material at the cheapest prices Ive seen so far. Honestly the best store.
Great selection and prices. So many customers, so wait time was a bit long. Plan ahead.
Havent been there for a long & thought they would have more stock.
Great fabrics. You cant beat their price on notions, especially sewing machine needles!
First time in there. Amazing selection amazing prices. But they would have to be amazing for me to go back to that location again. . With exception of a very friendly black guy. I was warned by a few other people to go to any SAS BUT THIS ONE.. I even had 2 conversations with 2 other customers while i was in the store. They also warned me the woken who work here arnt very friendly. BOY they were right
I found Frida fabric. nuff said.Amazing.
Great fabric if you feel like digging!
Sales people were perfect and helpful. First time there but not the last, thats for sure.
You find all kinds of fabrics
Good selection of fabrics & other sewing needs. Customer service is great!
The customer service received was rude and unsafe....An employee spoke of the store closing in 5 minutes, then within seconds all the lights (inside & out) were turned OFF.• Customers as well as hired employees.should be provided proper exterior lighting to insure their safety.
Plan your visit, because it takes time to shop here, but you usually will be rewarded when you find that unexpected gem for your project. Remember that October is the busiest time to shop, as everyone is trying to buy materials for costumes!
Best place in all of Phoenix for inexpensive fabric and sewing trims. SAS has one of nearly every kind of notion a seamstress may want. Great place for costumes and elaborate clothing.
Wholly coronavirus batman! This place was PACKED with diy maskmakers! The service was 5 stars the line was 1 i gave 3 to even it out
If you need fabric, they got it.
This place is amazing they have so much to choose from and the staff are very friendly. I feel welcomed when i come through the door. And the fabrics are labeled nicely so finding what your looking for is easy. The people here are friendly and you cant beat the deals. I could be here for hours and know that i could get everything im looking for. I would come here again and i do recommend it.
Uggggghhhh . Don’t recommend this place . I called to ask some questions and not even a 1 minutes into the conversation. The lady hanged up on me . So later that day I called back and hanged up on them . Btw. Don’t ever hang up on me EVER. Definitely bad service. If there was a rate from 0-5 stars I would choose -0. PERIOD.
Jambo (Hello),SAS Fabrics has varity & I appreciate the central location. The empolyees that helped me were (in my option) friendly, and time efficient. I will be returning aš I have for the last ten + years. Shalom.
Heaven on earth! Massive selection of fabrics, especially the glittery stuff. Drag Queens and Prom Queens can find their next dress fabric here, no problem. The pricing on standard supplies like interfacing and notions can be a little off, make sure to do a quick price check online if you think its high.
Great inventory! Its the poor customer service that sucks.
