Such an amazing breakfast and staff. These were not your run-of-the-mill breakfasts. They were just a bit extra in flavor, size, and everything else. From the bacon and cheese omelette, to the short stack, to the French toast special... It was superb. Hints of flavor like a bit of lemon in the pancakes and the fried cinnamon dripping off the french toast were really cool touches. Will definitely be back!
Great little breakfast spot during our visit to Phoenix. All the food came out super fast. The French toast was different. I didnt pay attention that it is fried. The flavor reminded me of a funnel cake, but it was still really good. My husband got the crepes and they were wonderful as well. Coffee could be a little stronger, but thats just my personal preference. Wonderful and friendly staff.
Great little spot! The food portions were generous and the variety was nice. If I am correct in saying this, they have a special menu that changes periodically. This time around it was New Orleans style, so I had the Jambalaya Hash and Eggs. One of the most flavorful breakfast dishes Ive ever had, packed with house potatoes, chicken, andouille sausage, shrimp, Jambalaya sauce and your choice of eggs. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this dish, I personally would have like it better with rice rather then potatoes. Overall the people were friendly and it looked as if they have many regulars because they seem to recognize and know some of the guests that come in(both young and old). I would definitely recommend trying this place out.
We finally had the opportunity to eat at Original Breakfast House and...it was well worth the wait. Every time we attempt to go to this restaurant, there are a ridiculous amount of people waiting, so we opt to go elsewhere. Today we waited the 25 minutes and it was great. The surf theme for the restaurant was interesting for the state of Arizona but refreshing. The place was packed but not too close and you could feel the good vibes around. Theres often times we will go to a restaurant and it can feel off putting. That was not the case here as everyone genuinely appeared happy to be here. Im a vegetarian, so I often look for a couple of things when trying a new restaurant. I look to see if they have anything to offer me. This restaurant has a few salads, pancakes, waffles, french toast, crepes, and the beyond impossible burger. So they did have things that I could eat, but the other thing I look for is to see if the restaurant will work with me to do a customized entree to accommodate my needs. I ordered the Cali burrito without the eggs or bacon and stuffed with whatever veggies they could find and...it was delicious, the staff didnt give me a hard time about my request, and the burrito was bigger than I thought it would be. Kudos to them for all of the above for me. Next my husband ordered the John Wayne western omelet and he said it was one of the best omelets hed ever had. He said typically when he gets an omelet, everything is sort of on one side but not this omelet. He said everything was even throughout and there was more than just egg in each bite. We also ordered a plate of French toast to try and it was heavenly. It was fried just enough to have some crisp to it, but not burnt or overdone. Its undertones of cinnamon and spices were not overwhelming and added enough flavor that syrup wasnt really needed but just an added delight. We did take some food home and we paid about $45 for our tab. This is a cash only restaurant BUT they do offer an ATM in the restaurant that does not require a fee for those who do not carry cash anymore...like us. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and she didnt make us feel rushed even though she was very busy. We will be returning to this restaurant in the future and recommending it to everyone we know.
10/10 for the biscuit and gravy. I’ve had better omelettes, but this one wasn’t bad by any means. The French toast and pop tart did not live up to the hype, but was still good. Would come back for the biscuit and gravy, and I’m from the south so I have high gravy standards. Cash only but they do have a no fee ATM on site. No WiFi or outlets
My husband and I woke up this morning and decided to go out for breakfast. Wanting to step out of our comfort and try a new place, I Googled breakfast restaurants! This place had great reviews and now I see why. They were busy and it was a little bit of a wait. They have ample seating outside for the wait which was totally worth it. The food and service was outstanding. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!
Hidden gem!! Went here for breakfast the other day. Absolutely delicious! My boyfriend had the French Toast which he said was very good. I had the chicken apple sausage scramble which was so fresh and really tasty! I would absolutely come back next time we are in Phoenix! Definitely give this place a try. You wont be disappointed!!
My wife and I wend for breakfast after reading a few reviews. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and within a minute a waitress, swung by with menus and took our drink order. she came by poured coffee leaving the thermos and took our orders. Fast. Efficient. Hot, fresh coffee. I had the chicken and French toast, my wife had the chicken and waffles. Both meals were served within 20 minutes of ordering and were very hot. We were both very pleased with the meals. My eggs were perfectly cooked, I had to let the chicken and French toast cool a little before I could eat. Everything tasted great. Prompt and courteous service, wonderful food...we will definitely be coming back!
If I could give this place a million stars, I would. They have amazing food and their service is out of this world. We came to eat totally forgetting about it being cash only and not having a debit card on us, the owner insisted he would take care of us. We told him no over and over and he didn’t care. We ended up finding our server had cash to Venmo her, but that gesture was incredible. I will always support Breakfast House!!!
Wonderful service. The food is was great. I had the chicken fried steak which came with eggs, pancakes and hash browns. GOOD! My wife had the French toast with a side of sausage and eggs. I tried her French Toast it was really good. The pancakes and French Toast had an unfamiliar spice that was delightful.
This Pork Green Chile Omelet is huge, fluffy, and totally delicious! The Pork Green Chile is absolutely delicious and rivals any local Mexican restaurant. Its not too spicy, just right for me. Yeah, I subbed fruit for hash browns, but they sure looked delicious, that said, the fruit was fresh and sweet, so overall I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic spot for a scratch breakfast. So delicious and server was amazing! The kitchen had the food out at lightning speed. I cant wait to eat here again.
Wow, just WOW! The banana pecan French toast was amazing. Sweet and delicious. The eggs were well cooked and the bacon was perfectly crisp. The blueberry lemon pancakes were fantastic with a lemon sauce as the syrup. The house hot sauce was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back. My new favorite breakfast place.
This place is wonderful. The atmosphere is fun and food is great. We got the two eggs, bacon and pancakes. My pancakes were the blueberry with lemon curd. They were delicious. If you arent very hungry share it. There is plenty. NOTE they only take cash but the have an ATM with no fee if you need it.
Loved our wonderfully delicious breakfast! My Husband had a specialty omlette. I had chicken and waffles. All of the staff was so warm and friendly. Our server was attentive & so courteous. (The Aloha theme made us feel nostalgic as we just spent our honeymoon in Hawaii.) We will definitely be back any time we are in that side of town.
Always enjoy dining-in/getting take-out here. I usually get the generic 2 Egg breakfast, but opted for the Cali Burrito, and it did NOT disappoint. The staff are always incredibly friendly, too. Kitchen is fast and consistent, and facilities are clean. They only accept cash as payment, but dont let that deter you. 100% worth it.
We went in a weekday in the early afternoon and there was no wait. Service was exceptional! Food was good! The pancakes have a bit of a lemony flavor that I was not particularly fond of. The place was cash only which in todays climate I found peculiar. They do offer a fee free ATM. O really good experience. We will be back.
On vacation and looked up closest breakfast near our hotel. OBH came up and we knew it had to be good because they close at 2pm. Which means they specialize in breakfast and lunch. We were correct, best breakfast Ive had in a long time. I chose the Banana Fosters French toast with a side of hashbrowns and bacon. Bacon was cooked perfectly, hashbrowns too.Not only was the food amazing the staff was fabulous too. We found our breakfast spot for the next few days.
This place is absolutely awesome. The food is great, the service is fantastic, and the ambiance is wonderful. I highly recommend this place for breakfast.
I regularly visit local diners to enjoy the experience. This is by far the best dining experience I have had in a long time. Our server Alix was incredible. The food was outstanding. Great upbeat atmosphere. I cant say enough about this place. I will definitely become a regular here. I highly recommend.
I dont understand all the five star reviews this place gets. Completely average fair, a bit overpriced, and the portions are not large. I had biscuits and gravy. The gravy was good, but the biscuits were odd. They were more like muffins than buttermilk biscuits. Others on my party had omlets and hash browns. The omletes were small and the hash browns were overcooked and tasteless. I wouldnt return.
Holy Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! This god-given breakfast did the trick and then some!!! The famous fried chicken with sausage gravy, french toast, and eggs is a must. The gravy is something straight out of the south with amazing pieces of homemade sausage. Eggs and chicken cooked well. Then to top it off, the french toast is to die for. The service was great too. A must for visiting Phoenix.
Excellent service! Our waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations that were spot on.Everything made fresh from scratch make this one of the best breakfast spots in the valley. Definitely in my top 5.The wait for a table was about an hour but that is just a testament to how great the food is. Will be coming back here for sure.
Enjoy the diverse and original menu! Quality matches price. DELICIOUS FOOD. Fun atmosphere. Great service. Friendly staff.. People know its worth the long waits. I always forget cash, so have to pay fee for ATM. Dont forget to bring cash.
Best breakfast place Ive visited in years. The food was perfect and the staff were incredibly nice. Found it on google and could tell it was usually very busy, so I went early on Sunday morning, around 7:30. No problem getting a table right away, but the place filled up quickly. My only complaint is that Im from out of town, so I dont know when I can come back. Please treat these people well, they are special.
Amazing food and service, best breakfast spot in town, there was always a wait when I went but it was well worth it. Was in town for 6 days and we ate there 3 times! Will go again if I find myself back in the area!
Good experience at a good breakfast spot. Will come back. Cash only.
Not bad. Had a pretty good eggs Benedict with hash browns. I’ve had better eggs bene, but I can’t complain about it. The eggs were perfectly made. I don’t eat bacon and instead of taking it off she offered a replacement, I opted for mushrooms and I was appreciative of the choices given with no additional charges. Service was good and everyone was friendly. Be aware that they are a cash only establishment, though they do have free ATMs on the premise.
Decided to check this place out based on the amazing google reviews. It did not disappoint! I only wish I had found it sooner on my vacation so I could try more of their delicious Menu. Staff was very friendly and the service was so quick!
Service was prompt, courteous and accommodating. Had the Greek yogurt with berries and bananas. Not accustomed to greek yogurt but the fruit was fresh and sweet, very good. My company had the big breakfast sandwich, which they liked. I would eat there again without hesitation.
Wonderfully inventive and delectable cuisine. The chef at this restaurant is a genius. The atmosphere in the restaurant is elegantly casual. All was perfectly prepared and matched, and it was incredibly filling for the price. The food was delicious, and our waiter was very informative about the dishes as well as the numerous wines and beers. Thank you for an unforgettable dining trip on my birthday. Strongly advised!
We found this place here, on Trip Advisor. It is an amazing, retro beachy themed, restaurant. We had the eggs, bacon and pancakes and coffee. I had the blueberry lemon curd pancakes. Everything was great. Daniel, our waitress was so fun and made the best food recommendations. We will eat here again. NOTE: they only take cash, they have a no fee ATM if you need it.
Breakfast was great as well as the service. My dad loved his biscuits and gravy, my husband had the vegetable hash that was amazing, I had the deep fried French toast 😋 ... we love this place...
This was a 0leadant surprise. I found it on Google maps and it turned out to be the best breakfast place Ive ever experienced in Phoenix. The 1st thing you notice is the wait staff. Everybody seems really happy to be working there. The next thing you notice is the décor. Very cool, vintage Hawaiian/surf. You could transplant this place onto the North Shore of Oahu and feel right at home. Finally is the menu and the food. Really great choices and delicious food. Especially the bacon and the hints of lemon in the pancakes and French toast. Bravo! 5 stars.
Awesome menu awesome service but after asking advise on a choice since the menu looked so good I accepted the green chili pork Benedict. It was good but I only had two small pieces of pork in a 14$ dish...I was kind of searching through it to find some but I guess 2 pieces was enough for $14 .... should have ordered an omelette.
Original recipes, lots of options, and friendly staff. Heads up its cash ONLY. I personally didnt fully enjoy the food, but it is very popular so hopefully you can find something you enjoy. We got the chicken fried chicken with french toast. The chicken was dry but the sausage gravy that came with it added to the flavor. The french toast had an orange zest, which was better than a lemon zest but was very strange on this dish. We also got the key lime pie pancakes, which were exactly that, my fiance loved them. And the cinnamon roll, which had cream cheese frosting, I personally strongly dislike cream cheese so it kind of ruined this dish for me, but the roll was also very dry so I couldnt even eat the part without the frosting. Over all you might find something youll enjoy, however I strongly recommend not getting something that you have a strong feeling of what it should be like.
Yummy grandma cooked food.....but if grandma went to culinary school. Traditional meals with a flair. Plus the best cinnamon bun you could imagine.
Outstanding service in a cozy atmosphere. Love the live music on the front patio during short wait for table. Gluten-free banana walnut muffin was delicious.
I was on vacation and found this place on Google. By far the best breakfast I have had in a long time. This place is super clean and such great staff. Highly recommend!!
First off, my favorite place to be in is San Diego and let me tell you, this place reminds me exactly of it. But thats not why youre reading this review. The restaurant feels like it belongs on a beach. They have surfboards, beach themed goods, and everything that would be in a Surfside shack everywhere on the walls. The menu is a great eclectic mix of of dishes. I dont say this about many restaurants, but trust me when I say this, but Everything that Ive had has been incredibly delicious. Like for example, the dish thats attached to this post has Asparagus in it! Who thinks to have Asparagus for breakfast? This dish hit the spot of healthy and hearty, but most of all it was bursting with flavor. And dont even get me started on the French toast. I would go as far as to say its better then my moms, but I wont in fear of her reading this review (sorry mom! 🙏🏽).Give this place a try if you enjoy not only incredible food, but incredible service. This is my new go to favorite for breakfast here in the valley.
It was amazing. I had the strawberry pancake special, they were fantastic. I loved the fresh squeezed orange juice. I also had the cinnamon brioche roll, it was excellent. I am going back I have to try their key lime pancakes. I really enjoyed myself. Try it youll go back for sure.
Should have found this place when we actually lived near it. Super good breakfast. Wish they took credit card.
Love this place love the service. Great beach vibe place and never disappointed with the food. Always hit this place for breakfast when on that side of town. French toast is like no other!! And fresh squeezed orange juice ...the best!!
Menu is amazing - food is delicious! Very clean & hospitable family environment with a DIVERSE staff. Love this place!
Had lunch. Very good BLT on sourdough. Fries were crispy, mac salad tasty. Friendly waitstaff. Will come back for breakfast. Cinnamon rolls looked great.
I’ve been to this spot two times now and I’m never disappointed with their food! There’s so much flavor in them! The biscuits and gravy plate... the gravy is made with sausage which is how I like my gravy; homemade tasting and with buttermilk biscuit! Their French toast is huge! So be prepared! You get a lot of food for the price you pay and the people that work there are genuinely nice! Also, there is a wait time everytime I’ve gone; about 20 minutes which isn’t bad in my opinion! Go by this spot! You won’t regret it!
Literally the best breakfast experience I have had in Phoenix. The staff was friendly, the food was excellent, and there was little to no wait time when we showed up. Well worth the short drive if youre coming from downtown PHX or Tempe!
Very good food and excellent service. I would have liked it better if we could have made a reservation insread of having to wait in the sin for an hour.
One of the best breakfast places in Phoenix!! They are always busy so be prepared to wait a little bit knowing that the wait is worth it. Staff is efficient and friendly!
First time guest, saw reviews for good chicken and waffles... disappointed, chicken not seasoned enough, plain waffle and one ice coffee that really wasnt an ice coffee, just one cup of coffee over ice and I had to add the little creamers and regular sugar for over $3, cheap! Then they tried to sweet it up on my way out by giving me a cinnamon roll, it was dry and a desperate attempt to get a customer to return.... also expect to use their ATM they only accept cash and theres severe road work making it difficult to enter....disappointed!
The best customer service that I had since moving to Arizona
Had a little time before a work meeting this morning, and I am sure glad we decided on this place! I had the original fried chicken and French toast. Both were masterfully done and hit the spot!
Wait time was long and service was little slow as they were quite pack. Overall good so no complain. Cinemon rolls were amazing but chocolate croissant was horrible. Food quantity is quite big and food was good but lacked seasoning.
We ordered chicken fried steak, 2 eggs over medium. potatoes, sour dough toast and a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. My eggs came scramble with a crazy amount of cheese...and the mashed potatoes were instant, plus the toast was cold. The chicken fried steak was a frozen patty...not very tasty. Our server was very nice and was the best part of the experience. Its a busy place, the wait was 45 minutes so we expected some really tasty food. It was fine, but not a 45 minute wait fine.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is awesome and full of flavor. I cant wait to go back and try something else.
We had a large party. Over 20 people. I was amazed how fast everybody got their food. The workers really were on there game. The food was delicious. I had the strawberry waffles and the amount of strawberries they gave 0n the waffles was abundant. Other people with me commented on the large amount of strawberries.I highly recommend this restaurant.
They have the best hashbrowns in the business. I love their scones also. Always a great time.
Adorable brunch place!! The food was delicious, the place was clean, and the staff was extremely friendly! I will definitely be coming back!
Classic Eggs Benedict I make sure to request them extra soft poach just to make sure I dont end up with a hard poached egg. It was excellent the hollandaise sauce is OK missing the light tang of a true hollandaise sauce other than that it was delicious.
Gluten free pancakes, I am in heaven!! Delish food and great service. Worth the wait!
Big portions, good breakfast, good service
Be careful coming here. The food was so good, that my taste buds explode . It was my first visit, I was not expecting this.
