Let me preface this by saying I think the Dr. here is a great doctor and is the reason I have been coming here for 5+ years for myself and my two kids. My girlfriend also uses this location for her eye exams.Anyway, the staff refuses to pick up their phone. They made a mistake mixing up my kids prescriptions which caused my daughter an unnecessary struggle at school since her eyesight Rx had gotten considerably worse. A whole month my kid waited to have her working pair of glasses ready. And after they make a pretty big mistake that I was very understanding of, they can not even bother to answer the phone. I walked in while calling them listening to their phone ringing off the hook as they casually stroll by. Oh and just magically they happened to have my kids glasses ready and were just about to tell me about it! Sure they were. I am NEVER coming back to this location.
Under New Management! I’m writing a review because the difference in management was so dramatic. We came here a year ago for my mom’s glasses. I won’t go into how slow or bad the service was at the time. I recently went back for an adjustment (one of many) and could feel something was different. The woman who helped me proactively said the little screw was stripped and we shouldn’t have had to have so many adjustments. She offered a replacement pair and let me take some glasses to my mom to try on since she was in the hospital. She even offered to bring them to us if I didn’t want to bring them back. Turns out she’s the new manager and she was positive, kind, sympathetic and offered solutions. It has to be infectious as the other staff were more pleasant and relaxed. The new manager is Sheena and I believe with this kind of leadership, this store will be better in serving their customers.
I been coming here for several years. The one star ⭐️ Has nothing to do with Dr. Lucca. Doctor Lucca, is very professional, kind, attentive and a compassionate individual. Dr. Lucca, is the only professional in this office. I don’t see how he could ever be affiliated with the office staff.The office is poorly managed. The lady’s at the desk are very rude and have very Poor customer service. It’s never an enjoyable time in that office except when my boys get seen by they doctor. We handle a negative environment with the office staff just to be seen by a great doctor. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 5 stars to doctor Lucca!The former terrible manager wasn’t there. Hope you guys got rid of her. She was negative and rude! I been calling for 2 weeks and leaving messages and nobody returns my calls. :( I hope you guys can get it together!
I wish I had a better experience here. I called a week ago to make an appointment and the gal on the phone had an attitude literally huffing and puffing every time she asked a question as if it was a burden to her to be answering the phone. Ok I chalk it up to girl is probably having a bad day no matter we’ve all been there. Then I get to the apt as early as I could make it shortly after they open at 830 am. There is already 3-4 people ahead of me and one doctor. No where to sit, and then a helper comes in chooses the one place I was sitting to Start cleaning around me. The receptionist is questioning my insurance and also has an attitude. I decided to leave bcuz I am not wanting to be there all day with rude people.
Service was rude on the phone and even more so in person. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
I am a disabled Veteran. One of my disabilities is my eyes. I stopped to have my glasses adjusted. A young man looking to purchase glasses was ahead of me. I had to wait about an hour only to get my glasses adjusted. The young man was being treated like royalty. I know the importance of a sale, once the person got to me it took five minutes to adjust the glasses. Theres no courtesy for old folks anymore.

Nothing fancy on the frames but nice. Then when the store manager tried charging us nearly 600.00, I questioned the special advertised online and in the store price. It just seemed a little high! Little is an understatement. “Oh. Your going to go somewhere else then? ok.” Said the store manager and moved back to my wife and ignored me.I just walked out! Hello! I made my appointment over a week ago and provided my insurance information over the phone at the time only for them to call me the day before my appointment and tell me they don’t take my insurance. When I called to see what was going on, the woman on the phone told me that is what they normally do. How does this make sense? This is so frustrating, disorganized, and inconvenient. I don’t see how a business can be successfully run in this manner. I called and made an appointment elsewhere immediately and they were able to tell me they accepted my insurance on the spot. Don’t go here.
I will NEVER go back to this location . Was treated as if I couldnt afford to purchase anything in the display case and was urged to stay in my budget with the frames by the door. When I asked to see something in the case they told me to look online at cheap glasses instead before looking at those. Mind you, I was there to spend a good amount, but took my business to lenscrafters.
They will have a forever attitude if you prove that you can speak higher than a six grade level, which confuses the nurse/receptionist, apparently, so they get huffy and bourgeois. My son is non verbal special needs, and he picked up on the bad attitude too. I can take attitude, but since they made my son uncomfortable enough to want to rush out of there, I am not going to return. I will also no longer recommend this location.I give this location -2 stars.
If I could u would not rate one star. Go elsewhere. This store has extremely bad customer service. Five weeks ago I went in for an eye exam. The two staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. I had exam and selected two frames. I was informed glasses would be ready in two weeks. That is where my nightmare with this store began. I called several times. I was informed they would call lab to check status on my glasses and call me bag. Three times. Never received a call. Today I called for refund again the Store manager not available. Again I was informed I would get a call back. This was the forth time I did not receive a call back. I just hope I receive the refunds to both my cards as the stated.The store tried to lay blame on the pandemic but it is simply bad customer service. This is the reason for review today and my request for refund. If they would simplify given me appropriate feedback. Not one did they explain the delay.

Horrible customer service. Makes me question their ability to handle my eye care...1. They almost never answer the phone.2. When entering the store, no one acknowledges you. This happened both times I went in. They literally ignored me at the entrance. Then, they barked at me when I started to look around at glasses...You need to wait at the front! Hmmmm, I might have known your wishes had you bothered to GREET ME!3. They take your insurance information, but dont call you back to tell you what was covered.People rise up! Call AHCCCS...Call you insurance companies...let them know to contract with vision centers that are willing to give even 50% service...it would be better than what you get here!

I had a great experience! The optometrist was skilled, knowledgeable and kind. The assistant was patient and explained each test and answered my questions with ease and care. When it came time to select my glasses and contacts The manager Joyce fully explained what my insurance covered and helped me find the perfect glasses for me! She even told me about the deals to get the best price! Amazing!I wanted to take off one star because unfortunately because the interaction I had at the front desk was uncomfortable and felt hostile. But maybe she was having a bad day. There was another woman at the front desk who was really patient and kind.

I was told a 2 week turn around for my glasses. Its 3 weeks and the only answer they can provide is no, the lab this, and the lab that. I also heard over the phone on my first call they didnt submit it on the day I came in, but the following week. Yet the following 2 calls they tell me it is the lab. Things just do not connect nor do they have a solution to get their product delivered when promised AND NEEDED. They just took my money and throw me cookie cutter customer service replies. I called the 3rd time to get the same answer. I stated in many ways I was not happy and needed more and yes I did elevate my voice but alas I did not yell. She told me shed call me back because she was with a customer. Um, there are better ways to do this. I am a customer too and her actions told me that customer was more important than me. Sad. I have travel plans through business and not having current glasses is a big deal to drive out of state. I bought my glasses on the 3rd...its now the 23rd...I am the only one who loses here. How long will it take, no one know but the Lab!It is now Tuesday...no, no one called me still. Really poor follow up and over 3 weeks.Wednesday. I hear and see my phine ringing. It rang twice and stopped. I called back, alas it was my glasses finaly ready for pick up. I get to the store, no apologoes, no one want to discuss my experience and I would now rate this location a zero star location.

Joyce the manager was amazing, very patient with me being a first timer to get my 3 kids glasses. She was so kind and sweet, she made sure to inform me on all that I needed to know. I felt very comfortable and happy with my service. The assistants at the front desk were amazing too. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.
Front desk people are just so rude. The optometrists need to find a new place of work to put the face of the company out of work. You can’t ask simple questions without being scrutinized

My experience was wonderful. John, assistant manager, gave me good information, saved me money & I came away with great glasses. Roberto Lucca, DO. was not only nice but worked to get me to 20/20! (I had just had a very disappointing experience with another company. My glasses were made twice & still didn’t work). So glad I came to this vision center. I definitely will come back! You can’t go wrong here. Everyone I spoke with were nice & knowledgeable. 👍
Absolutely 100% horrible, the customer service is rude. They are not patient with customers, their in a rush and they make you feel not important. I was on my way to a scheduled doctors appointment and they called me 20 minutes prior to cancel my appointment then they refused to accommodate with some type of discount since they wasted my time and canceled on me on the last minute, when I was already driving to my scheduled doctors appointment. They are very unprofessional. To top it off, they prescribed my 8 year old daughter an incorrect eye glasses prescription, which once again, they failed to take any accountability. I do not recommend anyone to this location. This location will only disappoint you, upset you, waste your time, yet be quick to take your money. I’m filling a complaint with the BBB.
Walked in, looked around. I was told they’d be right with me after they finished up with another customer. That’s cool. It gave me some time to look around and pick out what I wanted. I got together all of my questions. More people walked in. Others were seen. I was left in the corner still looking around and trying things on. Finally I decided to just go ahead and go to another place. I may be patient. But time is also valuable to someone whose waited their turn.
We found everyone who helped us at Nationwide extremely professional and helpful. Joyce helped us get our eye exam and glasses ordered and fit in a very timely manner. Thank you!
The doctor was great and awesome with my son... he gets 5 starsThe office staff need to work on their customer service skills. They hate their job and each other, it was awkward and their was a lot of tension between staff, I heard the older lady getting really rude with the front desk girl right in front of me and my son. It was very uncomfortable. I asked some questions and she even got upset I was asking about glasses. They need to look into getting a better team!
Honestly, one of the the best eye exam appts Ive ever had. The Dr. was very friendly and the staff was too.
Go else where please customer service at an all time low ! ! ! Need to fire the whole store and restaff ! Everytime I call no answer doesn’t matter if it’s morning noon or close to closing never do they answer called when I got to the store the receptionist were looking at the phone ring literally!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Let me start by saying the doctors are wonderful. They are the only reason my family and I have gone here for so long. The behavior of the rest of the staff is beyond disappointing. The wait to see the doctor (even with the first appointment of the day) is at least 45 min to an hour. The woman testing my sons eyes didnt note his scores on one of the tests, and I had to inform the doctor myself that he failed the color test, and was therefore colorblind. My daughter wanted contacts and they made her schedule a separate appointment to prove to them she could put them in and take them out BEFORE they gave her trial contacts. How in the world is she supposed to practice putting in/taking out contacts without having any contacts??! To make matters worse, the person teaching her how to do it admitted numerous times that he himself was never able to put them in his own eye. The technique he was teaching her was not one I use, or have ever seen anyone else use. To no ones surprise, she wasnt able to do it in the 30 minute time period and they said to come back when she was ready. I just went to schedule her appointment to try again (it has been six weeks since she last tried) and first they told me she had to have a new contact fitting before she tried again. Ridiculous. I called back to schedule the contact fitting and now they are telling me she has to have a whole new eye appointment. Infuriating! I have been on hold for over 20 minutes now waiting to talk to the manager. NEVER GOING BACK!

Pasting my review from Yelp here:Ive been to to multiple optometrist offices in the past decade. Usually they are smaller businesses, but with my move this year, Nationwide was the closest to me, so decided to give them a try. Do NOT come to this location. First I waited for almost an hour to be seen. Then when I finally got was able to see the doctor (Dr. Rosenberg), he didnt really explain anything, his bedside manner was very curt, almost rude. And the technology here is seriously lacking, older than Ive seen in a very long time. Once I was finally finished with the doctor, the person who was checking me out after had almost no idea what he were doing, and was incredibly slow. I have now been here for over and hour and a half and am still waiting to be checked out and get my trial contacts. Let me assure you, I will not be returning here next year. I cant remember having such a negative experience at my optometrist office as I have here. I will definitely pay a little bit more for a better experience next year.*Update: I finally left the office, 1 hour and 40 minutes later. For the first time in at least 10 years, I left an optometrist office without new contacts (trial) in my hands. They have to be ordered, which means I now have to come back to this office at least two more times. My contact prescription number has not changed in the last ten years. Seriously lacking here.Update 4/4/19: I still do not have my TRIAL contacts from here, its been 2 weeks now. I called and they said it was ordered but they are not able to track them. Also, I sent an email two weeks ago to the address the business owner who replied to this message, and still no reply from Nationwide. Clearly the company in general does not actually care. Im surprised they are still in business.

Worse place ever to bring your children to get glasses. I was there 2 weeks ago the doctor is fine and does the job right but the people in the front are horrible. They give you attitude and ignore all your questions. Thankfully i didnt allow those horrible women to give me their snobby attitude. Its been 2 weeks and no glasses yet so I called and was put on hold for 20 minutes than someone picks up and says Thank you for calling nationwide vision my blood boiled because I was on hold for 20 minutes just to start all over. So i told the rude woman why i was calling and again was put on hold for another 10 minutes so i hang up and call back and tell her i will no longer stay on hold that it was a simple yes or no question if my sons glasses were ready and she says no that they are not there. That she will need to call the lab. Now how hard was that to say in the first place. Now 2 weeks later they have not contacted me at all to let me know any update on glasses i paid for for my child. So now Its a waiting game for glasses my son desperately needs. Its a shame this store is still up and rude people running this store. Ill be sure to review them on every website i can find. Ill also let my family and friends know to never go there ever. I would give them a negative 1 star if i can.
Had a very pleasant experience!!! Went to choose some new frames and also sunglasses and Joyce the manager is the sweetest person ever!!! so understanding and so helpful!!! I cant wait to pick up my new glasses.
I called to pay for my glasses online I remember the exact day and then I called a week later to see if they would be ready and they told me they weren’t here yet so then I keep waiting it hits 3 weeks I call again and ask “hey why is it taking that long it’s been 3 weeks “ then they let me know that the glasses weren’t never placed on order and they tried paying them off 3 weeks later when I had no more money in my card 😑 so then I had to wait to get my check again and reordered and their here now but this will be the last time I come to get glasses I really need them and been having bad headaches and itchy eyes
Worst customer service Ive experienced in this field. Ive been here several times with the kids I work with.The women at the front desk all have nasty attitudes no matter how well you speak to them, and seem to be more involved with their gossip than assisting.They treat everyone as if it is your pleasure to be seen by them.I watched a woman walk in to pick up her childrens glasses and was made to wait an hour even though they called and stated they were ready. When asked how much longer it would take the employee simply looked at the woman and went on her way to the desk.The wait time is too longAnd the service is subpar at best.
I would give a zero, but not an option. I went in for an eye exam, the dr did not do the prescriptions right and I had to go back to have the lens changed out. They broke a month later and I went in again (my 4th time) and the Asst Manager, John was rude and unprofessional. I asked him to make sure he got the right prescription. I went in today (5th time) and the wrong lenses were in my glasses. Very incompetent and I will never go again nor would I ever recommend them. The Manager, Joyce, today was very nice and apologetic.
We recently relocated to Phoenix and were looking to find a new optometrist. This location was referred through our insurer. My son found a pair of glasses he loved, but unfortunately due to several lab issues we had to cancel the order. Those issues included the prescription and the lab breaking the frames. I had to call several times because the lab did not proactively communicate with the store. Three weeks went by and I canceled the order because the lab had to order new frames. The staff was friendly, but sadly this experience was a terrible way to welcome new clients and represent their business. It won’t likely matter to them however, they lost the business of a family of six.
I was apprehensive about visiting this location but it is the closest one to me and this is what my insurance covers. I was pleasantly surprised by the service seeing as there are poor reviews and ratings here, but all of the staff was friendly. Everything was done in a timely manner. Ordering my glasses was easy. Roberto Lucca was the O.D. and he was very friendly and nice. The place was clean and there was a fairly good selection of glasses from many different brands.
Came here on a Saturday for new glasses/annual eye exam when another Nationwide Vision location was fully booked. Staff was super helpful and the doctor was so nice. Within 5 days, my glasses was ready for pick up!

Since the moment walking in Ive had an unpleasant experience. The ladies up at the front were rude. I had an appointment and now have been waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time, just went up front to see about how much longer because I have another Dr appointment scheduled and her response is I dont know, there is still someone ahead of you. Why have us schedule an appointment... and how do you not know how long it typically takes a patient? If I didnt need contacts before leaving town again, Id be walking out now.... might still have to if this takes much longer

Seriously I did not like how she talked to me. I will never go back to this place. They cant seem to get things right and still want you to pay for their mistakes. I believe their a bunch of racist bXXXhs, I saw them refuse service to a lady of color even when she had insurance and refer to another location. Then they totally screwed up my sons visit and then blame my son for the doctors mistake of not looking at his notes and bill me for the mistake. Im also a person of color. I will never go back to this place. They deserve zero stars
TLDR; They wont tell you this, but if you dont go back and physically tell them your trial contacts are okay, theyll void your prescription and ask you to pay for the entire exam all over again. PETTY AF.Last November I paid for an eyeglass & contact exam, and at the time had no complaints aside from feeling as though they were pushing the Glaucoma test a bit to aggressively after I informed them that I didnt want one.My opinion has since changed. I had updated my frames with my new eyeglass prescription last year, and failed to realize I had never been given a contacts prescription after trying to order some through 1-800 Contacts. The rep. from 1-800 Contacts offered to call NW on my behalf to get the information about my prescription, and I took her up on that. I waited on hold for just a few moments only to have a bewildered rep. tell me that the company didnt finalize my prescription and needed me to pay for a full eye exam again if I wanted it to be finalized. We both thought this was weirdly illegal-sounding, as it hadnt even been 5 months since I got my prescription. I immediately called the location myself.I explained my surprise and frustration to the receptionist who took my call, and added that it wasnt my intention to take it out on her as I was aware that none of this was her fault. She seemed receptive, and agreed that she, too, would be frustrated. She put me on hold to see if there was anything she could do, but came back only to tell me that her manager told her to inform me that, yes, I would have to pay for the entire exam again. I asked her if she could put her manager on the phone, and she told me she was busy. I informed her that I would like her to call me back, and if she didnt, that I would write a pretty negative review about my experience.Now feeling irate, I went a step further and called their corporate office. I was told that the District manager for that area would reach out to me later that day.Not only did I NEVER get a call from either the Phoenix store or district manager- I was able to walk into a Chandler NW and have my prescription finalized (and they even gave me a new trial pair!) all within 5 minutes - seriously, 16th & Camelback? You refused to do something that would have only taken you a small amount of human decency and 5 minutes? .#Sad.
We took our kids here. Dr did will with them. We ordered glasses here. Took a little over a month to receive them. We also got a back up pair online. These were more expensive but nicer and lasted more than a year.
Initially, when I arrived the experience was uncomfortable with one individual, but Joyce Miller (Manager) created a wonderful atmosphere in selecting and ordering new frames. I would recommend visiting this location and asking for Joyce to fulfill your optical needs.
Everything went well easy peasy but the glasses I got hurt my eyes so much and it irritates my eyes . I went in the next day they said to wait a week and so I told them I am not comfortable waiting and still scheduled me for next 4 days . Wearing these new ones feels like it worsened my eye vision ... its not too great & a bit pricey aswell. Maybe examine the eyes more do multiple test the doctor only did a few and was quick about it. ... Just my 2 cents
The doctor is great but other than that the people in the front desk they talk about customer in Spanish mind you I was paying out of pocket for my glasses to b treated the way I was I wish I knew a number that I can call would not recommend to anyone

The front desk lady who is in charge of setting appointments has a very nasty demeanor, and a confrontational tone as if she doesn’t enjoy her job. Sorry, but it’s no ones fault but yours that you are 40+ yrs old and still work at the front desk of Nationwide Vision.
This place is absolutely horrible. Contacts ordered in first week of November and the trial pairs still havent even been delivered to me. What kind of crap is that? Never go to them! Like ever! I would give zero stars but google makes you choose at least one.
BEWARE! We went through 4 pairs of trial contact lenses before we decided to go someplace else. Additionally, both of my kids glasses are the wrong prescription! They would not reimburse me so that I could use my insurance benefit with a different doctor. Now Im stuck paying out of pocket. I highly suggest against going there.

I ordered a pair of Rayban eye glasses and a pair of contacts Im supposed to try for 30 days to see if theyre the right fit for me. I have been wearing glasses since the 4th grade and have never experienced this kind of customer service that give no accommodations to the customer.I picked up my contacts yesterday and was in a hurry to get to a meeting. Since these are trial contacts for 30 days, they usually help you with a demonstration and set you up with a contact case and a sample of solution to get you by for the time being. I did not receive a contact case or any solution for these trail contacts. I called and asked about it because I have been to eye doctors for over 15 years so I know what to expect. When I called the lady said that I could not get a solution or a contact case and that if I wanted to come back in I would have to pay for it. This upset me because this is the first place that I have been to that doesnt help you with trial contacts or give you the tools to store them or clean them while youre sampling them.This evening I picked up the eyeglasses I purchased with the prescription in them. In my many experiences, when you buy brand name sunglasses you get the case that comes along with them and a eye glass cleaning cloth. Instead of the Rayban case I was expecting, I got a cheap Nationwide Vision case and no cloth. This is the first time Ive ever experienced this lack of customer service the 16 years Ive been wearing glasses and contacts. I am a very unhappy customer and next time I think I will stick to my Costco when it comes to my vision needs.

Very poor service. Scheduled an appointment and when i showed up the girl at the front desk said the doctor decided to go to lunch and to come back later... Didnt even provide a time. The girl at the front desk doesnt seem like she has any idea whats going on.
DO NOT COME COME HERE! This place is no good waited at least 2 months to get my trial contacts which are supposed to be received at time of eye exam but never happened. I literally called every week and got some run around story saying they had one eye and not the other. Finally I got fed up and tired of waiting so I cancelled my service and want nothing more to do with this company! Customer service is horrible and could careless to serve your needs.
Purchased my glasses here and recieved an exam great experience overall
Sandra is not customer service oriented, she has a professional tone of voice but no professionalism to back it up, she should answer they phone only, I only come here because of Joyce and John, and the actual drs, they go thru the administrative staff hands, like I change under pants, so hopefully, Sandras wont be there next year when I need my script renewed.

Im so mad i took my badbygirl julie for her glasses april 13 2017 and its may 2 and still waiting on her glasses bad service there but eye doctor was ok... :(
My daughter had lasik at nationwide for distance sight prior to that she had to wear glasses to see anything at a distance, she was 21 when she received the surgery. I had the procedure financed 24 months at 0%. Right at the 2 years when I made the final payment, her eyes went back to how they were before the surgery, at this time they are as bad or worse than before the surgery. So after spending $3700 for the surgery she is now back to wearing contacts or glasses again.
Walked into the store with the intention of buying my frames and lenses, literally browsed for 45 minutes without being asked if I needed help finding anything (or buying their product). I kept looking over at the sales people sort of hinting that Im a would-be paying customer. I guess they have enough business, cause I walked out of the store without ever being approached.
I will never deal with them again and wish I never had in the first place! I have been waiting over 2 weeks to get a trial pair of contacts, its ridiculous.. never again!!
Ive been going to nationwide vision for about 2 years no, everything is great honestly. Im excited to go back in a couple of days.💖😃😃
I visited a few months ago. The doctor was great the receptionist was rude. Glasses selection was okay

Call me and they promised to assist me when I arrived if I arrived before three, I arrived at 2:10, and at 2:45, they told me to go around because those who had an appointment at three arrived, but that they will attend me when they can, now they say that after 5:15 !! Besides, I am looking at people who are dissatisfied with what they want to charge them apart from the insurance charge. !! Im not leaving because I live far away and I need the glasses.
