Well our adventure with the Meat Shop started when my husband got a call regarding their smoker needed to be repaired. We went there and he fixed the smoker. While I was waiting I looked them up. I was surprised at how great their prices are. So after a few weeks we had some time between jobs we went by and got round bacon (round, never knew that existed) damn that bacon is AWESOME will definitely get more (a lot more). Pork chops were so good. Way better than store bought. Pork loin was also great.We are definitely going to get more pork along with some beef soon.Thank you for having an AWESOME place. We will definitely be back again and again and again and... Well you get the idea.

Argentine beef is considered to be the best in the world. After eating beef in Argentina, I couldnt get the beef bought in Phoenix supermarkets to taste the same as I can there. I bought beef at The Meat Shop for the first time recently and grilled it on a charcoal grill with no seasonings, marinades or sauces, and only used salt and it turned out just like Argentine beef! So impressed! Would highly recommend the 14 day aged beef to anyone looking for fantastic flavors!

Everyone was nice and knowledgeable. The meat is excellent quality. They have beef marrow bones to make bone broth which is great! Also a wide selection of beef, pork, chicken, venison, Buffalo and elk. The sausage selection is impressive.

This is an awesome small, high quality, butcher shop. They have their own farm in Maricopa County and and raise their own pigs. You can not buy fresher pork. I have been buying meat from them for over 10 years and will continue to do so.

We Love this Meat shop because of the quality of the all their meats and poultry. The bacon we just bought a few days ago had fabulous flavors. The customer service is awesome. Allison, who we usually place our special orders with is just so helpful and kind. And during this time of Covid, we can do curbside pickup.

Won’t be returning. I called and placed an order almost 3 hours ahead of time and the order wasn’t ready, if it was ready they would have just let me pay for it since I was already at the cash register but nope the lady comes back 5 minutes later after I told her why I was there to tell me there was a line? Didn’t look like it since I was waiting for a while in line lol but I mean just tell me my order isn’t ready but okay so I leave out the building since the place is already small and people weren’t wearing masks including a staff member that I seen and I go wait in my car and I come back to a crowded building with people not wearing masks I’m not bothering with that since I had a family member almost die of Covid.

The prime rib was very fatty. Definitely not a tender piece of meat. Definitely will not buy anything else from this shop. Disappointed

Love the bacon and Italian sausage. Sometimes you can get meatballs at Christmas. They are absolutely delicious. Their prices are great for the type of meat they sell. AND the staff is amazing

Right in the middle of nowhere below Downtown Phoenix is the most magical of foodie places - the whole animal butcher shop - I was able to get a skin on Porchetta for Thanksgiving that was amazing and I have a skin on pork shoulder roast to make Schweinerbraten, the slow roast pork with a topping of crispy skin - and they also have smoked pork jowl, what the Italians call Guanciale, which is traditionally the meat used to make the past dish, Carbonara as it produces a velvety smooth fat when you dice it and crisp it up. As it is in a low rent district the prices are wonderfully affordable - They also have various forms of bacon they appear to smoke in-house, sausages and great cuts of beef (though Im not a beef person) - I love this place, a gastronomical cultural gem.

Super find in downtown Phoenix for high quality pork and beef. Choose from grass fed and organic pork and chicken. Open to the public and they serve many quality restaurants in the valley. You can even get full and half pigs, bacon, pork belly (probably will be a waiting list) and more. Check it out and you will be glad you stopped in!

I have brought several whole hogs and they were great, great price and great quality. Have had the opportunity to buy other cuts of meat also and very satisfying. Would recommend to family and friends who are trying to find that old school butcher shop..

Was a really big fan of this place. Just dont call and request a special color order unless you are a restaurant. I waited three weeks to get a nice supply pork chops to different style cuts. It wasnt exactly cheap but what I got was a bunch of end cuts that dont even match up from the same piece of meat. My suggestion is by what they have in the case cuz if youre not a restaurant they dont care about you.

After all the reviews I thought I would be safe. But it was the worst experience ever. Let me start by saying I payed in advance for a Christmas prime rib. When I went to pick it up the day before they had supplied the wrong size of meat. They apologized for their error and would cut me a new piece . So I waited and they got my piece and I realized they had over charged me. So that got corrected and I left. Got home and cooked it, it looked fabulous until I sliced it. It was so gross so much fat I barely had any meat to feed my guests . For what I paid I was shocked and saddened. Don’t buy here get it anywhere else the cost you pay isnt worth what you get.

Best place to buy choice and prime cuts of meats. Elk, bison, venison, buffalo, lamb, goat as well as standard meats are great.

Walk in the entry to find a cold case with prepackaged items for quick sale. You can look through windows to see butchers working their magic. You will be greeted by an employee in the small lobby that assists you on your needs. My experience was great with fast service providing the freshest cuts. Even picked up chicken livers far cheaper than a grocery store charges. First class service in my opinion.

You will not find a better source for grassfed beef, pastured pork, free range chicken, fresh sausages and bacon, and special items (lamb, bison and elk) in the Phoenix metro area. We have never been disappointed with anything we have purchased here. Nor will you find a more friendly and helpful staff. They have always been willing to answer questions, make recommendations and share recipes. You really need to give them a try!

We have had a monthly reoccurring order of the raw dog food at this shop for about a year now. The mix is a good quality and is packaged better than some of the other local butchers that we looked into. Not to mention our dogs love it! We just defrost portions as we need them in the fridge and mix them with some other fresh ingredients, it couldn’t be simpler!One of our last orders had a minor issue when fully defrosted, with no ill effects, but I decided to reach out to them via email so that they’d be aware of the issue. Not only were they quick to respond but they went above and beyond to make it right!The service here is really great and aside from that one instance we have not had any other issues with this shop. We’ve also purchased varying cuts of steak and the locally sourced honey on our visits and it’s all been good and well worth the price.

The people are wonderful: they are friendly and always available to answer questions. I love that the animals are raised humanely and that the cattle are grass-fed and pastured.The pork products are the best Ive ever had. You can tell that a great deal of care goes into them! Their bacon in particular is delicious. The chicken they carry is also delicious.The only downer is that their beef is just too lean. Ive tried different cuts, at different times of the year, and no matter what I get, there is little to no marbling, lots of connective tissue, and tough meat. Their ground beef was even gristly. I dont want to have to lard every roast. I know, its grass-fed, but genetics are key to producing fatty animals on pasture.I will keep shopping here for pork and chicken, but I am looking for a different source for pastured beef.

This is a great place to get your meat. Beef, lamb, chicken, whole pig for roasts this is THE PLACE! You have to try it. We go on Saturdays and the guys there are terrific, knowledgeable, and friendly. Its a pleasure to go there and get premium cuts of meat because they make it easy .

Went for the first time today and got a quarter cow for a great price. Great service, very helpful. The beef was local and grass fed. Best price per pound for grass fed quarter cow in the valley a far as Ive found. They also have pork, chicken and eggs. A must if you are interested in grass fed beef, Paleo, etc.

Real butchers preparing quality cuts of meat. Theres always a deal of some sort; keep your eye on their website for the latest specials. Some of the prices may be a little higher than grocery stores, but the quality of the meat is so vastly superior its worth every penny. Aside from the usual beef, pork, and chicken cuts, they routinely have high quality sausages, lamb, goat, as well as rotating game animals such as rabbit or venison. Check the clearance case on any visit; my wife and I got some pork chops from that case at 50% off regular price and pan fried them with some of the Meat Shops own blend of chicken seasoning and had a fantastic meal far better than anything cooked from Frys or Safeway. The crew are all super friendly and knowledgeable. Its worth the drive from any part of the Valley to get such service and quality.

Amazing experience. I stopped in for some Fathers Day gifts and was blown away. The service received, the reasonable prices, and crazy selection will make this a weekly stop. If you have a smoker or bbq then this should be the only place you go. The skinny kid with glasses was great and he has amazing recommendations.

Picked 4 Ribeye steaks this past Wednesday.... $28 a piece. My buddy and I bbq’ed them to med rare. I’ve never had a tougher, more filled with gristle piece of meat. Costco has way better beef.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They seem to have a decent selection of items as well. We will be coming back when we need to stock up again.

The best meat shop in the valley. A-1 products and the prefect place to come for dog lovers as the bones are the cheapest and best tasting in the valley. I used to spend $50 plus on bones a month now I spend $30 here for grass fed bones and they last me over 3 months. Great place and customer service

Not sure what the appeal is with this place. After reading the great reviews I decided to give the Meat Shop a try for a decent brisket when I was looking to smoke one. Called a week ahead of time and was told they would only have 2, both on the small side. Whatever, figured Id make due. Tried to confirm on the phone that the brisket would still have a good 1/4 fat cap, and whoever answered the phone was completely confused and had to ask someone. Came back and said thats how they package all their briskets. After driving all the way to the place and paying a small fortune for a tiny 7lb brisket, I get home to find a completely trimmed brisket. No fat cap, and a pretty poor piece of meat all around. I can get a better cut of meat from Sams Club for litterally less than half the price, which isnt exactly stiff competition. First and last time Ill drive out to this place, be sure to take these reviews with a grain of salt.

We went on a Saturday and the selection was not vast, but Im not mad! Just tells me they have a product that is highly demanded. Just gotta get there earlier during the week! We bought some sausages and they were amazing!

I have been here several times, and keep coming back. Dont let the unassuming store front and surroundings keep you from walking into this joy of a business. While the store front area is quite small, you are situated immediately in front of a meat counter with freshly cut offerings, vacuum wrapped for freshness, and you can easily see the workers in back carefully preparing expert cuts. As this is a real working butcher, they do accept requests, but depending on the cut and the type, it may take a day or so to get together. I also routinely pick up some of their homemade sausages (in the freezer to the right as you walk in), and while the French Apple sausage is my favorite kind have enjoyed every one of the ten or so types of sausages they offer. The folks here are helpful and friendly, and offer fresh, quality product at reasonable prices. A real keeper.

False advertising! You look them up online and the display case looks amazing and fresh. You walk in to a 3/4 EMPTY display case that is vacuum sealed. Asked for short ribs and was told theyre out...youre a butcher shop. Was super excited to find a butcher shop here in PHOENIX and was greatly disappointed... Will keep looking.

Havent tried the meat yet, but there was a good selection. Initially I couldnt get fresh ground beef until tomorrow, but the lady was nice enough to package 5lbs for me today.Update: The grass fed beef and the 3 different sausages I bought were a hit at my draft party. Grilled burgers and sausage onion and peppers. Delicious. Also got a free piece of smoked pork jowels since my purchase went over $50. I cooked like lardons with onions and pasta. Found my new place for meats!

Ive been going to this place for years to get grass fed beef and pork from happy pigs 😁 the customer service is top notch every time and prices that cannot be beat. They make it so easy to call in and make an order, they even tell you when and what cuts they will have, which as a mom with allot of kids thinks is great!

Great selection on proteins! Staff is awesome and very helpful. And they said if they didnt have something there i wanted they would find it for us.

I like the selection that they have here as well as they have a veterans discount and can give you ice to keep the meat cold for longer travels home.
