First time going to Bishops in Phoenix. Best haircut in a long time. Rafa took a lot of time and care to understand my hair and what I was looking for. He did an amazing job and such a nice person! I will definitely return! So happy with the haircut yay!

Had an awesome experience with Nevin! As a stylist, it can be tricky to manage making a client feel you are capable, an expert in their specific hair texture/style, and genuinely interested in the final product of your cut. Nevin expresses all of these with ease and authenticity.He took the time to review my reference photos and ask questions for best results. He talked through the texture of my hair and the techniques he would be using to combat its thickness and cowlicks, as well as techniques that may have been used before that contributed to my dissatisfaction with prior cuts at other shops. He took the time to walk through my styling routine and recommend products that work within them for my hair type, and even provided those products at the end of the cut for me to try on my own (which ended up providing the exact results I was looking for).Ive often found my haircuts taking under 15 minutes due to the length of my hair, but the results never fit my expectations due to the rush. Nevin clearly takes his time to analyze every angle, every tool, and every curl to ensure the cut is not only to your expectations, but also the most flattering possible. He is an outstanding salesman, conversationalist, and artist. Will absolutely be booking with him again.

I went to this salon a few days ago. It was clean, and the employees were overall friendly. I received a haircut by a stylist named Kylee. She did a great job, and I love my hair. All of these good points were overshadowed by a major negative. There was another employee working who was clearly not feeling well. Not only did I notice this by his demeanor, but he had to keep running to the restroom. Where myself, and I am assuming others, could hear him retching. I’m not sure why someone who is visibly sick would be working. I feel it is a safety concern for employee and customer alike. I hope management will rethink their policy of allowing ill employees to be present in the salon

I went with my husband to Bishops because they had good, strict policies and procedures re Covid, and, to their credit, they implemented the policies effectively. BRET was vaccinated and he seemed capable of some creativity. We’d been there once before in April and Bret gave him a haircut which was a little too short but we felt that Bret had potential to be creative. When we returned in Sept 2021 we both reminded him that we wanted the back left long, like real long. We gave him a written set of recommendations from our usual hairdresser in Albuquerque. He looked at the paper, smiled, and proceeded to simply ignore the recommendations. Unfortunately, he had chopped off the back of the hair so that it was shorter than it had been for decades.I didn’t want to say anything but when my husband saw it with two mirrors, he was furious that our written and verbal requests were ignored. I told my husband to write a letter to BRET with some old fotos, asking him to get back to us… message, email, and actual postal letter. We were still trying to give Bret a chance to redo it when we will return (in Feb, 2022 for medical reasons).Incredibly, BRET didn’t even bother to respond in any way. Obviously we will never return but my husband is sad and mad everytime he looks in a mirror. He’s actually somewhat depressed because he feels he looks so nerdy. Over $50 to be humiliated and disappointed. We rarely give reviews but in this case I had to say something.If you get BRET at bishops in phoenix, be prepared to leave with a haircut he thinks you should have rather than the haircut you ask him to give you.

The service was great. The environment was fun and my stylist was friendly and lovely, he made my experience there worth every minute. My only concern at the moment is if my hair color will stay. Its only been 3 days, and every day I wash my hair, more and more color washes away, and my hair color seems less vibrant as it did day one (I know it happens sometimes but the amount of red that washes away scares me). I will update this after a few days to see how it turns out. But other than that this place is worthy of 5 stars. I would definitely come again.Edit: hair turned out just fine!!

Now I gave only been here twice, vut both times I have recieved quality service and have walked out happy. I happened upon Bishops just before the pandemic hit hard, but reeally needed my hair taken care of. After doing a lot of research I chose Bishops and went with whomever stylist was available during the time I was looking to schedule. The woman, who btw specializes in beard trimming, did a spectacular job. I didnt go back over a year because there wasnt a need too PLUS the corona went nuts and I didnt feel comfortable. Unfortunately I do not remember the young ladys name and it doesnt seem like she is there any longer anyways. So I did my research again of the stylists that are there and landed on Rafa. He is also fantastic and did work on turning my hair from a stringy mess to a cleaned up freshness. We will be color correcting my hair as well and I know itll turn out incredible.Bishops is great, it does come with a price, but its worth it.

Sami is wonderful. Walked me through the whole process on how to style my new hair, as I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit and tried something new. She was so sweet and kind. The salon was great, staff so nice and everything was clean. Great ambiance.

Nevin was INCREDIBLE! A true artist. Took the time to listen and get inspiration from what I wanted but I asked him to flex his creativity and that’s what he did! He was very communicative about his vision and he absolutely nailed it. If you’re looking for a fresh new look definitely check him out. 10/10 will visit again.

We had the pleasure of Rafa cutting my daughters hair! She was nervous at first but Rafa was so friendly and professional she felt at ease and trusted him to do the cut. So happy with my whole experience at bishops but Zander himself is amazing, he listened to what I wanted, took the time to explain things to me as he was going and gave me the best blowout of my life (even straightened my tiny baby hairs which NO one takes the time to do). Definitely an 11/10! Such a great place to get your haircut and styled. Great atmosphere, not rushed, and stylists seem happy working there. That being said, looking for a solid barbershop since I moved back to Phoenix has been a crapshoot. Not to mention my hair is quite difficult to deal with (thin & curly). I cant recommend this place enough. The vibe is great but it was also super clean and everyone was really friendly. Sami Sue gave me an amazing haircut. She was super knowledgeable and gave me tips for how to keep the haircut styled in different ways. I didnt feel judged like I normally do in salons. Since I know nothing about hair outside of a messy bun I really appreciated the time she spent with me making sure I loved it and knew how to style and what products to use. This is a review for Nevin. I came in with severely overgrown hair (~5 months of growth) and no idea what I really wanted except for a fade on the side and to keep the top long. Nevin was able to help me figure out what I wanted and definitely delivered on the results. The fade on the side was perfect and the top was the perfect length for styling. Would recommend Nevin for anyone looking for a medium length haircut and fades!

I got my undercut designed by Kiley and she did an amazing job! The shop has a very welcoming, bright atmosphere and the people working there seemed very nice! Really liked their rewards program, a stamp card adding up to a free haircut! Will most definitely be back.

I was sooo lucky to work with Nevin Hernandez as a stylist! He not only gave me an amazing cut taking off around 7-8inchs but he educated me on how I can achieve healthy hair at home myself and he gave me styling tips and tricks that will work for my hair type. Ive been on the lookout for a great hair care experience in Phoenix since I moved here in 2019 and Bishops is absolutely that. The staff are friendly and accommodating, Sami (my stylist) was incredibly knowledgable and patient, and I look better than I have in years.

Kylee is at the top of her game! I am very new to having my hair colored, and I had no idea what to tell her that I wanted. However, she somehow read my mind and used the limited info I provided to create the EXACT color I had in mind! She also cut and styled my hair flawlessly- all with the best attitude! She is everything you want in a stylist! And Bishops itself has the best vibe Ive ever experienced in a salon. HIGHLY recommend!

Since the pandemic knocked out my last barber, I was in need of a new place for a trim.No appointments were available online, but a quick call had me set up just a few hours later to see Leif. They did great! Gave me exactly what I needed—just an evening to let it keep growing—and offered some helpful suggestions, all of which I took. Fab!When it’s time to do something else with the mane, I’ll be back!

Took a friend here for his birthday haircut, I really liked the inside of this shop, super trendy and colorful. I liked the puzzle they had on the table to play with, I think one more puzzle would be neat. The staff was also friendly when we walked in and the woman who cut his hair was very friendly and they had a nice conversation. Over all a great experience.

Rafa was amazing, I was nervous since I hadn’t had my hair cut in almost two years, but he was kind and positive, made me feel comfortable and did an amazing job working with my hair. The salon had a great welcoming vibe and everyone was great. Definitely found my new place.

I got taken care of by Zander, who was warm and attentive the entire time. What initially was a 3 hour plan ended up taking a lot longer than we both had expected, but he never showed signs of boredom and it really seemed like he wanted the best for my hair. Bishops has been my go-to for a little while, and they always seem to prioritize what the client is looking for. Highly recommend if you’re okay with a higher level price point; the services aren’t cheap, but in my opinion they’re worth it.

I loved loved loved everything about this place. As a first time customer I was super anxious because I did not know what to expect. Even busy, the check in process was quick and my stylist Rayna did an amazing job on my haircut. It had been over a year and I had SO MUCH damage. She not only made my hair feel and look healthier but I also got bangs which I adore. Also all of their line of hair are products smell heavenly. I seriously recommend getting their products if you can because for the first visit only they are 20% off and they are the best products I have used on my hair in years. Overall the experience and pricing is worth every cent.

I attempted to get my hair done here for my birthday. They seemed very nice until they told me that I could not be serviced there because my partner is a nurse. If you support health care workers do not support this business. I left the salon shocked and in tears. My partner called them very upset at which time they lied and tried to make me sound like the problem by claiming I was hysterical. What a heartbreaking way to treat your clients and any human being in general.Update: After refusing me service and their associate looking me in the eye and confirming that he is uncomfortable doing my hair, he uttered an invitation to continue the appointment after I expressed my feelings towards their treatment of me. Their manager charged my card a no call no show fee and they are saying it is my fault since I walked away after their associate made me uncomfortable and after they attempted to put me through a contact tracing process due to my partner being a medical professional. I guess it is convenient to place blame on the client and push forward with making money. I was told on the phone today by their Assistant Manager (who was there at the time of the event) that they service medical professionals all the time, so I asked why their associate was as allowed to turn me away if thats the case. I did not receive an answer. I only received the charge on my card.

I had a great experience at Bishops, they have a relaxed atmosphere with great music. My stylist, Jaycee, listened and made great suggestions on how to style my hair and what products would work best with my hair type. They also offered me a beard trim despite the mask requirement, and took all the necessary safety precautions to keep themselves, myself, and other customers safe. I really appreciated the great service for a great price!

I’ve been going to this Bishops location for a couple years now. After years of being overcharged for inconsistent hair cuts from this place or that place, I happened upon Bishops and they’ve always been so amazing. The entire staff is inclusive, diversity friendly, open and awesome. And they do badass haircuts and styling and whatnot! I always leave as a very happy customer. The energy there is infectious. It’s what you’d expect from good people doing good stuff! I have yet to have a bad experience either with service or haircuts. Mo has been my most recent stylist there for a bit now and she rocks! But so does everyone else there too! If you need and want consistent and affordable cuts from awesome people in an awesome environment, Bishops is your place!

Not impressed with the quality of haircut I received. Ive never gotten a dry hair cut before and will never do so again. The girl that cut my hair made it so uneven that the right side of my hair is about four inches shorter than the left in several areas. The layers are blunt and do not lay well on the head. Cool atmosphere but wont be returning.

I asked my hair to be cut to my shoulders and showed a picture, the person who cut it decided to do it way shorter than what I asked for, it wasn’t even sitting on my shoulders. They also cut it at an angle for some reason? As it is growing out it is more clear the front is for some reason longer. They did not ask me if it was ok with me to cut it shorter, they just did it and told me after it was done that they decided to do it a little shorter, not what I wanted and really unprofessional. I also wanted curtain bangs and again showed a picture, again nothing like how I wanted at all. Cheap but wouldn’t go here again in fear of them messing up my hair even more!

This place is seriously amazing. I either hate all my haircuts because the stylist has no idea what to do with curly hair or I fork over tons to be satisfied. Here I did neither. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the talent is freaking bomb. All of the staff were sweet to not just me, but also my hoard of heathens that follow me everywhere. Even had great lunch tips for me. Yall got a permanent customer!
