Actually came here because of the reviews and what everyone is saying is true. Very kind and professional owners. Joe was extremely knowledgeable about the car issue we were having and was able to fix it in very reasonable time even with the difference in schedules. Great energy and very trustworthy establishment that I would highly recommend.

Joe has consistently gone above and beyond to help with my 97 Volvo, he is completely fair in his practice and truly only wants the best for you and your car. Unfortunately my car has quit on me, and Joe was there to walk me through what the problem was and the pricing for the repair. Then offering to answer any questions I had on new cars to purchase, to ensure I would be making a right choice on a new one. Not only are the repairs at GearHead quick and fair in price, the service is not matched anywhere else. Thanks Joe!!

Full diclaimer - I did not received services from this shop. What I did received was a full answer about the job my car needed, and explanation of how it could be fixed (including a fair quote for the work, as confirmed by my previous visits to other places) and a well intended referral to a place that ended up fixing my car in 20 minutes and at a lower cost that other places I had visited on my own.Thet were honest about not having the necessary equipment to fix my car issue, but were still so very helpful and transparent (shout out to Daniel!) that I know they will always be my first option if I need some work done in my car.

Ill start by saying I dont write many reviews... So to write one, I feel pretty passionate about this service!Im sitting in the air conditioned lobby (writing my review while I wait) after having my car quickly diagnosed after my check engine light came on during my drive from from California to Arizona. These guys are quick! They explained to me the issue and the remedy, told me what I will owe. Joe was able to find the issue and figure out the part they needed to order. Damen contacted a nearby supplier that had the part I needed, and after being told it would take over 20 minutes, he decided to drive and pick up the part from the shop himself! When he returned with the part, Joe installed it, I paid for it, and was out of the lot in record time. AND he ended up saving me money!We got pretty lucky we landed in this area - friendly, reliable service.I hope nothing else goes wrong with my car, but if something does, and Im in the downtown Phoenix area, I hope its some where around here.

DONT GO HERE! There’s a new owner who has taken over.... who could care less about your time or money. He does not guarantee his work, does not care that he has your car for longer than the time quoted, does not care that his hours are posted as 8:00-5:00. The last owner was experienced and did quality work. This new guy lacks in both of these areas.

I was in a bind with my air conditioning breaking down and was worried about the price and job quality. The mechanic that is there put my worries to rest with the price and as I learned later, he did a great job. My air conditioning is fine mechanically and blows ice cubes out the vents. I forget his name but Thank you so much ❄👈😎.

The service, price, and friendliness I have received here with numerous repairs over the last couple years has been outstanding. Finally a place I can trust! Joe is very conscientious, he really cares and shows it in how he treats you.

Daniel and his team are awesome, a couple of days back I stopped by to set an appointment for them to look at my rear brakes, I had a weird clinking sound that would come and go. Daniel said they would be glad to take a look that day. they pulled my car in and got to inspecting and it turned out to be inferior brake pad shims that had come loose and were making that noise. The replacement parts ran late so Daniel stayed late past closing, did the job and got me back on the road. I will go back for more work when needed, its good to find someone you can trust to work on your car. They are truly a competent shop and good people.

GO HERE! This place is such a breath of fresh air! Very honest service and excellent customer service. The owner, Joe, will take his time to go over things with you. This is my first time writing a review on google and this establishment deserves the 5 stars. I had my vehicle broken into and the individual ruined the ignition to where I could not start my vehicle. I had to find an auto shop that is close and determined this is the place by the promising reviews and I was not disappointed. I was concerned the individuals would return and attempt to take the vehicle the same day because I could not move it. The owners stayed well past their closing time and waited for the towing company to deliver my vehicle and followed up with a phone call. The owners of this company are fantastic and I appreciate their work ethic. I will be returning to this place and will no doubt refer their services to others. Keep up the good work!

GearHeads new location is right next door to me, so I took my truck in to fix an exhaust manifold leak that came back after a different shop tried to fix it. They had it done in less than a day, and for way less than I paid before. Joe is a great guy and very easy to work with. Give them a try!

Please do not go here! The last owner was good but ever since the young guy took over the shop sucks. He says he going to only Prius cars now cuz he messed up my car. Changed the spark plugs on my 370z and now it runs awful. He tried to fix it with better spark plugs and charged me full price again and still drives awful. Hes also never there at the hours of operation. Ive shown up at 8:30 and had to wait till past 9 am for the shop to open. Also Ive been there at 4:30 to pick up my car and he had already left when the shop says on his door he closes at 5. Defenitly do not recommend this place simply because the young owner doesnt have experience he just guesses and does not own up to his mistakes.

A few weeks ago my car broke down right next to this wonderful family friendly auto shop run by a father and his sons. they were all really nice and the manager even walked around the corner with me in the Arizona summer sun to help figure out what was wrong, luckily it was only a toasted battery but im glad these guys were there to help. ill be taking my cars there from now on and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone for quick and easy friendly auto care.

Just posting the facts from my families experience. Ford Expedition motor needed new heads, as timing was off, car was shaking. I expected to be expensive. Quoted 1 week, took almost 3 weeks. We were unable to call and get updates, as the phone system did not work at the shop. The shop called and left voicemail after 2 weeks that it would be one more day, it took 3 more days, and again unable to call the shop to check in. Cost of the job was close to $4,000 and the shop was unable to make any type of payment arrangement. Car was picked up smelling like cigarette smoke, we will take car to be shampooed to hopefully get the smell out. I understand we are not the normal experience, as I read other reviews, I had higher expectations.

I take all 3 of my vehicles to GearHead for the maintenance or repairs that I cannot perform at home. Joe and Josh provide excellent customer service and provide their skill at a very fair rate.One of the vehicles I own is a 1994 Toyota Landcruiser with over 250K miles. The legendary FJ80. It recently became my daily driver as I have put my previous DD up for sale. Joe and Josh help me keep this beast in tip-top shape, despite the repair snafus the previous owner has gotten me into. I believe that with their mechanical know-how, I will easily get over 400,000 miles out of that beast.I cannot recommend this shop enough. 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10, 2 thumbs up. Joe and Josh walked me through a terrifying week of A/C woes, bad alternator...battery...on my 98 Cadillac DeVille Concours. I have switched for life - from here on out Gearhead Auto is the only place I will take the five Cadillacs that I own.This past Sunday, November 26, 2017 my 98 Cadillac would shift from park. I had to rent a car which as we know is expensive. The Cadillac is front-wheel drive which meant I couldnt have it towed from the driveway. Josh to the rescue. He came to my home and fixed the issue in ten minutes!!! He is my new hero. Thanks again Josh and Timothy for running the best garage in town!

Im always leary & skeptical of trying new auto places cause of their reputation for scamming & ripping you off for their own personal gain. After meeting & talking with Joe & his girlfriend Charlie who works with him and especially after hearing his story, they seem to be very honest, professional, & stand up people when it comes to business. Ive used Gearhead on a couple of my vehicles. Im a car guy and do a lot of my own work, but mostly I work on older vehicles. Modern electronics can be very fussy and you often need specialized equipment do do the work, and its particularly great to have someone to take my wifes car to that I can trust.Another nice part about Gearhead is that they take the time to do a thorough diagnosis. A lot of independent shops will just throw parts at a problem to fix it -- resulting in more trips to the shop until they finally fix the real problem. That makes more money for the shop at the customers expense. Gearhead is not like that and they will take the time to explain to you the system, the problem and the solution.Plus, theyre not a big franchise -- just a family owned shop that makes you part of the family.
