Great neighborhood hardware store when you dont need to do a giant trip to the big box store. Its lovely to just go in and be helped quickly and get out of there with the odds and ends. The guys working also give great advice. On a Sunday you can take a walk in the park and hit this hardware store on the way back home.

The BEST place to get keys copied. After multiple failed attempts using a key copy machine, I called rittenhouse hardware for assistance. They copied my key in 30 seconds for what I’m sure is the best price in town. Highly recommend!

What a great experience! Im impressed! First of all, they are handling the COVID protocols very well. Theres a limit of customers that can be inside the store. Most importantly, I was immediately greeted at the door. Staff was very cheerful and ready to help. They promptly showed me the spot where I would find what I was looking for. The store has a huge variety of items and is well stocked. Prices are fair. The employee behind the counter was also very friendly, asked how we were doing. The whole experience was as it should be. I wish everywhere you went, staff treated you like this. Hope they never change!

Amazing neighborhood hardware store. They have most essentials you need on short notice or forgot at your last run to Home Depot or Lowe’s. Prices are fair and the staff are super helpful.They also handle Covid precautions really well. There’s a 5 customer limit and mask use is strictly enforced.

The Rittenhouse Hardware store located right off the ever so posh Rittenhouse Square is one of the best stocked hardware stores I’ve ever been in. They seriously fit more stuff into that store then most stores 5 times the size, you would be amazed at the stuff that you can find in there!

Absolutely love this place. they are super helpful and are always willing to help me figure out the best way to get something done. Theyre strict about COVID guidelines since the store has narrow aisles, but worth waiting if there is a line.

Good, quick experience. I was greeted upon walking in and the employee walked me around the store helping me pick out some of the items on my list. He was nice and helpful. Its a small store, but they definitely have a lot to choose from. I didnt end up with the right paint - my bad because I normally do best wandering around finding stuff on my own, and didnt want to go back to switch out the paint. Ill find another project for it thougj.On another note, this store is a bit of a walk for me, but its the only hardware store within walking distance. It seems like Point Breeze and Graduate Hospital are lacking in hardware stores. I will be stopping back by here if I ever need anything.

I popped in today to buy 3 keys for my toddler to play with (since he is obsessed with holding mine!) and the guys in there couldn’t have been nicer. I’ve always had a good experience here. Never try to oversell or upsell, but always give sound and accurate advice. Highly recommend!

Staff are nice enough and helpful. The only problem is an incredibly limited stock and they do not really carry hardware (screws, bolts, nuts, etc.) just a few obvious sizes. The store is more geared toward amateur home repairs. If you are a contractor or need access to actual hardware, you’re better off at Lowe’s or hone depot or another hardware store.

Like an old time hardware store! Reminded me of going to the hardware store with my grandfather. Items shelved to the ceiling: tall ladders for employees to search for and retrieve items. Employees knew where everything was and were very helpful. AND they had what was needed! Like stepping back in time in a good way. Make sure you have cash for a minor purchase as there is a minimum credit limit. I think its $10.

I really want to like this place #shoplocal. Maybe being asked by every person that works there do i need help and the same thing happens to my brother. But i go because #shoplocal and they seem nice when asking🤔😐

Amazing service! I came here to find some screws for a monitor mount. I was greeted and helped right away. The first set of screws that they found turned out to be the wrong size, but they immediately replaced them with the correct ones when I came back. I will gladly return for any home improvement needs.

The best hardware store you could possibly ask for. They carry everything I’ve ever looked for. I don’t know about everything, but from my experience the prices here are lower than Home Depot. They have allowed me to buy one size of a plumbing part and when it was too large, they simply exchanged it for the right size. I lived around the corner for 30 years and they have been here almost as long. Highly recommend.

I hate home improvement stores but love hardware stores like Rittenhouse Hardware. The friendly staff always asks if you need help (I always do) and invariably has what I need. And they dont push the upsell, often directing me to a good enough cheaper solution.

I always try to go to my local hardware store instead of the big names. This place is the best. The prices are good for a small neighborhood shop, and the service is spot on. I often rush in here fifteen minutes before they close and Ive always been met buy a friendly face. Kudos!

This place is amazing. They have everything you need and a great staff. Been in there a few times and once I was under the credit card minimum so they gave me the item told me to come back later to pay since I live in the neighborhood. Even as I said Im sure I need something else from here to get me over the minimum, they said dont buy anything you dont need. Makes me want to buy everything I dont need from them. Also its dog friendly and they have people just stopping by to say hi.

Rittenhouse Hardware has consistently (for years!) had the best customer service of any store I have been to in Philadelphia. I dont know what they do to find their employees, but every single one I have ever interacted with has been knowledgeable, helpful, and generally pleasant. And they get serious bonus points for knowing how to not be over-helpful, too. Also, in spite of the small size, theyve had pretty much everything Ive ever gone there to look for, and the prices are very reasonable for the prime location. The hours are quite generous, too. I would recommend this place to anyone with hardware needs.

Best little hardware store, very helpful and friendly. Went there looking for a chrome split flange to go around a 1/2 bathroom water supply, and they had them. Lowes did not and neither did home depot, plus, if you need to ask a question, good luck trying to find someone at either one of the big box stores.

For a small store, its amazing the inventory they have on hand. Almost everything for your hardware and home maintenance/repair needs. Not as cheap as the big home stores like Lowes and the Depot, but top-notch service experienced staff makes it special, not to mention the convenience of its neighborhood location. Love it!

These guys are awesome! I locked my keys in the back of a moving truck (I know, an idiot move) and went in this store to buy bolt cutters. They let me borrow theirs for FREE. This is my favorite store in Philadelphia. Not hardware store--any store. The guys who work there are the friendliest, most knowledgeable people you could imagine. Their prices are comparable to or cheaper than what youll find at a big box store or online, plus theyve regularly steered me to a cheaper but better product when I explained what I needed. Rittenhouse Hardware is the perfect example of how to survive as an independent store in the Amazon Age.
