Nice place old fashioned atmosphere. Good coffee. A bit pricey- but the food is very good and generous. Servers are very nice and polite. Well be back.

I ordered the veggie eggs Benedict. After a long wait, it arrived with cold spinach and cold cooked mushrooms. the worst were the eggs- they came on top of a cold white bread hamburger roll. Why? The menu stated all the different eggs Benedict selections come on a toasted English muffin. My plate was a mush of egg soaked wonder bread for 13.50 . My sons bacon egg and cheese was dripping with cheese and the bagel was barely toasted. I will not be back.

I had been here years ago & they had delicious crepes. During my recent visit I was sad to see there were no longer crepes on the menu. They do have other tasty breakfast foods & breakfast is available all day. Prices are slightly high, but fair considering the times we are in. Also, the place is decorated by a local artist so interesting pictures to look at while eating.

I got a cheesesteak with scrambled eggs, fried onions and I was saying yes to everything the nice woman asked me so it also had salt, pepper and ketchup. It came on a nice traditional roll. I think the meat was the weak link. There was a lot going on that may have made up from some meat issues. Looking at the video I see the cheese but I dont remember the cheese being a big player on this cheesesteak. The eggs were the star. With all that said, the Mercer Cafe was a very nice treat on a miserable rainy Monday morning.

This cute diner in Port Richmond serves up delicious homemade creamed chip beef on toast. Homemade. So yummy. The mascarpone French toast is also delicious as were the sausage links. They serve La Colombe coffee. Sophia was great and the owner was attentive.

I’m not sure what happened to Mercer but the food quality has declined since I first dined here a few years ago. Everything that I have tried on the menu in the past 3 months has been completely bland and overpriced. I was so excited to try the pumpkin pancakes and old bay home fries but I really didn’t get that “pumpkin” flavor and the home fries were awful. I also had crab cake sandwich platter recently that was served with cold shoestring fries. Considering the price of $17, I didn’t feel like it was worth it. The crab cake is made with real lump meat but because it’s not prepared with something to bind the lumps, it falls apart. It was also cold in the center, runny and lacked flavor. I’m sure the desserts are still good but I can’t see myself coming back.

Food is always good. (They make scrapple better than anywhere else Ive been.) Atmosphere is homey and welcoming. Love this place.

Im slipping. Found this outstanding Cafe this past May in the middle of the Corona pandemic. They were open so we decided to give them a shot. One of the best choices we have made in the year weve lived in this area. I did the good people of Mercer Café a major disservice by not reviewing them. The best breakfast period. Perfectly cooked food every time. Orders perfect. I really enjoy the little things they do. Like putting a half strawberry on top of the pancakes. I usually like to save my long reviews for the worst places however Mercer Café is so good I enjoy writing about them. Once the world opens up again Mercer Café is going to be on the top of the list of places I am going to go.

Cool spot is otherwise very dull neighborhood. There are few cafes around but not many manage to pull it off. Grub is decent as well. Their coffee is from La Colombe, which to me is great coffee. Parking is tough as there is only street parking available and its usually full.

A favorite of my dear friend who passed and mine. We ate theres a few times a week and we loved everything about this cafe. Great food and service.

Lived in Kensington most of my life and overseas over the past few years. Anytime I visit home I make sure I make a trip here. Food is delicious with a family owned atmosphere. Never greasy and unsatisfactory like local diners. Unique taste and dishes to keep it interesting for locals.

My friend brought me in today, we had breakfast and it was great, the staff was very nice and the place was very clean.

Food took forever to come, eggs cold, home fries dry. Turkey bacon was good, coffee and orange juice TOP NOTCH. 😄

Mercer is a great breakfast and lunch spot in Port Richmond. Its a favorite amongst the locals and the small dining room can fill up quickly over the weekend. No frills spot. Street parking.

I went and staff was very nice, yet our waitress was not as informed about the menu. She had to ask another waitress to ensure what sides come with each choices. Ive experienced better. I ended up with a Greek salad and it was pretty good. Therefore, my rating is based on service and menu discretion. The Menu can be confusing. Please ask what does it come with because most toppings or selections is extra.Location: Navy Yard.

My wife and I have had our share of fancy dinners in Baltimore, Maryland. Each time were there, folks were with are relentless with, You gotta get the crab cakes, Mmm, you need to try these crab cakes, Have you had the crab cakes?. Each time, we fall for it. We buy the over-priced, overrated crab cakes, take one bite, look at each other and say, Not nearly as good as Mercers.Mercers crab cakes are the best around, and better than anything weve tried elsewhere! Whether they skip the filler altogether or whatever is happening with their family recipe, I havent had a better crab cake!This morning, I forced myself to break away from the tried and true victor of their menu, and went with a chicken and pesto sandwich for lunch! It really hit the spot and was yet another dish Ill be comparing of all others.I hate to give the place such a good review out of fear I wont be able to find a seat for brunch next time.

I came to this establishment for brunch at my wifes suggestion for Valentines. Since we go out the day before or the day after we miss most of the holiday traffic. But, traffic or not, because it was somewhat busy, these folks are on the ball. I have NEVER had BETTER diner food in my life; especially at these prices. No wonder they have been in business so long. My wife has been going here many years longer than me and feels the same way. We are and will continue to be regular customers until the restaurant is gone, or we are. Thank you for excellent products, service, and staff. You are a model of what small business can do with proper determination and effort.

I work nearby and never knew this place was here...though everyone else at work did. Excellent lunch spot with great atmosphere, staff and, most importantly, food! Hope to visit more often.

One word: BLAND!!! Im giving Mercer 3 stars because the servers are always kind, and I like supporting family businesses, but I honestly have no idea how they get such great reviews based on their food. The food is BLAND, and mediocre at best.I assume they get great reviews simply because there are not many other options in that area ... but if you cross Allegheny, I can think of at least 4-5 other places that have way better food.Its a shame, because the atmosphere is nice, the people are nice, and we need a decent breakfast and lunch spot in that area, but the food just isnt there. I go there quite often, and every time Im disappointed in the food. Portions are rather small for the price, food is almost tasteless, and they do add additional charges for ridiculous things (like getting wheat toast instead of white - really, Mercer?)I really hope the owners read my review and take it to heart, because I want it to be good so bad!!!! But each time, Im sorry to say, it just isnt. Cross Allegheny (or Lehigh) and try somewhere else -- youll see what I mean!I will say, that the nice atmosphere and nice staff will bring me back again, but its not my first (or even my second choice). As an Italian, I like supporting other Italian family businesses, but I also like my food to be FLAVORFUL. If Mercer just adds a little zest to their food, and adds a little love here and there, it could easily be right up there with the competition. :)

It looks nice but it smells disgusting. Also they will charge you for sides even if they say it comes with the food. They wont let you sit at a table you want even if theres nobody and there are lots of tables. Kind of pricey for mediocre food.

Ive visited this place on 3 occasions, trying 3 different dishes. Despite the interesting menu choices, Im yet to try anything thats actually good.

They have amazing breakfast. I ordered the Mascarpone French Toast, and it is every bit as good as it sounds. Would highly recommend. Also ordered a Latte, which usually leads to a disappointment, but they serve La Colombe, which is one of my favorite coffee roasters. I would recommend Mercers, they clearly care about quality of the food and experience.
