Our sister Division (IWS) Imagination Workshop Studio purchases supplies here. Its one place out of two handfuls of Art Department and Special Effects suppliers they purchase from and the closest Make-Up and Special Effects Supplies locations near us. Among the various supplies IWS gets at FX Warehouse is mask latex.
I’m not surprised reading these reviews as my experience with “Liz” was also unpleasant. I placed an order on her website because in the shipping policies it states that “orders will be processed within 2 days. Most orders are processed and shipped same day.” I assumed by this statement my order would arrive by the end of week. She immediately emailed me though and informed me that the piece I ordered was behind and may not ship until Thursday at the earliest. She also asked if I’d like to keep or cancel my order, but because I had already paid for the order at this point, I went ahead and asked if there was anyway to make sure it shipped by Thursday because I really didn’t need it until next week. Her response and I quote was “I’m not a machine and these pieces only work a certain way. I can only do what is physically possible. I cannot guarantee anything.” I was literally shocked at her response to me asking a simple question. No where on her website did it list the delays when placing an order, which I understand happens. The delay was not my issue. My issue was… you have a customer who had already PAID you based on the the time frame your website laid out, and once you informed me that wasn’t possible, I asked a question to try and see when it for sure would ship to make an informed decision on if I needed to cancel my order and wait THREE days for the refund to credit my account. A simple “Friday is the latest it will ship would have been sufficient. She was rude over a simple question. I went ahead and asked her to cancel my order because at this point I’d rather give my money to a company who cares about their customers, and when I asked her to cancel it she said “I’ll cancel your order. I actually had one I was going to ship your order today.” lol… I can’t make this up. Incredibly unprofessional. Take your money elsewhere.
Don’t touch! This is the worst experience, over $1000 spent on prosthetics and the face pieces were so badly made that I cannot use them. When I contacted them they were very quick to blame how I was applying them and accused us of cutting the pieces (even though there were 3 of use doing it, we have experience!!). The edges were so thick we couldn’t blend into the face so we’re only fit for the bin.Couldn’t be ruder or patronising if they tried... thanks ‘Liz’!
The lady working there was so mean to me!!! i walked in and just had a few question because i’mnew to SFX but she was so short with me every time i asked a question. and i was super polite!! it really hurt my feelings so i left without buying anything. wish i could actually review products):
