Nostalgic Eye Care! Where do I start? The establishment is beautiful; something about the location when you’re in there on a sunny day & the sun just shines in so gracefully lol. Their customer service is amazing! I don’t remember her name, but there was a lovely woman who helped me pick & choose my glasses, she gave me suggestions and really made me feel great about my choice, which I absolutely LOVE! Their selection is wonderful, might I mention. As well as the care of Dr. Herring, he’s great!

I just called to schedule an exam with Nostalgic Eye Care; they get such amazing reviews by former clients! I asked what the COVID protocols were in the office and was told that I have to wear a mask. I asked if it was protocol that their staff be vaccinated and was told by the very friendly person that I spoke with on the phone that they were not vaccinated. What a bummer. I will seek care elsewhere.

I saw Dr. Herring for my diabetic annual eye exam. This was the first time my glasses were perfect. I can see literally better than I ever have. I have went and watched a few movies over and I feel like I am seeing them for the first time. The office is beautiful. Dr. Herring is kind and thorough. He even tried me for contacts. Wasnt for me. I love my new glasses.

They worked with me through some problems with my insurance to get an appointment set, for me in quickly, and once I was there I was blown away by both the friendliness and the professionalism. This is literally the best place ever! The patient representatives and Doctor is so nice and professional. They help you pick the right glasses for you. They are very kind and their is never any wait time. You fill paper work out they take you right back to start your visit and then if getting glasses they will assist. Today was my first visit to this eye dr. Everyone was so pleasant the atmosphere was peaceful. The whole facility was clean. From the time I walked in I was greeted I filled out my paperwork and saw the DR right after he was very professional.while getting my eyes dilated I sat with Michele she helped me picked out glasses. I def stepped out of my comfort zone and we picked some bomb statement glasses. They will have my service forever. I will be recommending everyone to this facility

The team at Nostalgic was great, from reception, to the optometrist, to the eyewear support. Super easy to schedule. My glasses and contacts were ready in about 2 weeks. I had to come back to have my new frames adjusted and they were super accommodating, listened to what I was saying, and fixed them. Now they are perfect:) I appreciated the COVID measures and that it is easily accessible.

Dr Herring is a great eye doctor, and Ive been very happy at his practice since I became a patient of his a few years ago. He and his staff and always a pleasure to interact with. My two children also are patients of Dr Herrings and hes great with them as well, even when they ask tons of questions and want to know all about the different equipment. Im glad hes in Mt Airy!

The staff was very nice but not the doctor he kept asking me if I had any concerns about my eyes I said no and then out of nowhere he insulted me by telling me how my eyes are two different sizes I never ask for his opinion about my eyes I just wanted to buy new glasses he said the best thing you can do is just get surgery it was very unprofessional

Dr Herring, Stephanie and Victoria are the best in the biz. I’ve had vision problems since my teenage years and have sat in many optometrists offices. Always dreading the appointment, the interactions, and especially the search for the (almost) perfect pair of glasses. Dr Herring is kind, thorough and takes the time to involve the patient in the exam. The office staff are welcoming, highly skilled and amazing at picking out the perfect pair of glasses (a task not to be understated). We were in the market for a new optometrist after our insurance changed, and had read several positive reviews of Nostalgic Eye Care online. My wife went to see Dr. Herring first and had a great experience, and then I took my 14 y/o daughter to get new glasses. The front desk staff was very friendly which is a huge plus (I have left other providers due to unfriendly front desk staff). Dr. Herring had a great bedside manner. He spent his time trying to get to know my daughter and really connected with her, which can be hard with teenagers! She walked out saying how much she enjoyed the visit and she is really pleased with her new pair of glasses! I am next in line for an updated exam!

I completed my first eye exam in perhaps thirty years today. (It might have been longer ago—who can remember!?) I can’t imagine making a better choice than Nostalgic Eye Care. Victoria and Dr Herring exceeded all expectations for professionalism, personal attention, customer service, and general all-round pleasantness. The exam itself was easy and thorough, and in no way intimidating. Dr Herring was exceptional in making me feel comfortable and relaxed—when administering eye drops, I don’t recall flinching or otherwise succumbing to instinctive and reflexive resistance. Highly recommended!

They were all kind and so extremely helpful and spent a good amount of time helping me choose the right pair of frames. I’ve been going to this place for about 2 years now and have been satisfied for the most part. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because I provided them with a pair of glasses that I wanted to add prescribed lenses to. When I received my glasses back they did not provide me with my original lenses. This does not allow for me to possibly resell these glasses in the future. They said they threw them out and it is not their policy to provide them. I’m hoping to change this policy because any materials that are purchased by a customer should be returned.

My first time was a very pleasant experience.One week later I received a call your glasses are ready.The balance will be 320.00, Why my balnce was to be 220.00. They answered the Doc made a mistake. I had left a deposit of 223.00.I was ok then with my balance. If I had known I would have choose something in my price range.I had to then wait 3 weeks later.Even when I did come to get them.The Doc came out and didnt even speak or apologize

My family had an excellent experience at Nostalgic Eye Care yesterday. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped through the door. My kids had never had eye exams before, and Dr. Herring and Ms. Victoria immediately put them at ease, kept them calm and relaxed (even while getting dilation drops!), made them laugh, and patiently answered about a hundred questions. My daughter tried on every pair of kids glasses in the store, but Ms. India patiently kept trying until my daughter found a pair she liked. I have been driving quite a distance for my own eye care, but I will be switching to Dr. Herring for my next appointment. I would highly recommend this practice.

I initially went in to get my glasses repaired. I then made an appt for my eye exam and then fitting for new glasses. The staff was a breath of fresh air. Very professional, as well as helpful. My daughter just had an eye exam here. I can not say enough how pleased I am with the service. The store area is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Dr. Herring, worked so well with my daughter, he used 2 different methods to perform her exam to ensure that he received accurate readings. The receptionist/ assistant was very courteous, she answered all my insurance questions and took care to confirm other information for me as well. Dr. Herring is probably the best eye doctor I’ve been to, and that says a lot seeing as I’ve been wearing glasses for the past 15 years. His staff is also friendly, and patient. I made an appointment for my annual eye exam. Victoria scheduled me for my appointment, did my preliminary exam, and helped me pick out beautiful pair of frames. Dr. Herring did a thorough glasses/contact exam, and made the experience comfortable, quick and easy. Everyone was awesome from start to finish, and I was in and out. Dr Herring was very friendly and outgoing during my eye examination! The receptionists at the front desk were very lovely and great at making conversation. I felt my exam was rushed I paid for a photo that was supposed to be explained to me but wasn’t the frame selection wasn’t great and I had to callback the next day to ask for my script which they said they would email to me only to be told they didn’t have my email address which I put on the paperwork I don’t even think my eyes were properly dilated this was disappointing appointment never again and I will follow up with my provider to give feedback

Through searching my provider portal, I came across Dr. Kennard Herring. When I came into his office I was immediately impressed with the aesthetics, welcome, and atmosphere. My appointment was refreshing, as he didn’t attempt to pacify my understanding of my eye condition simply because i am not a doctor, he listened, inquired, and made an effort to understand my lifestyle as it pertains to my eye care. After a thorough exam, I met with a woman who assisted me in picking out my frames. She was patient, helpful, made meaningful suggestions and comments, and was hilarious. Dr. Herring then came out and joined the fun, while making suggestions, and giving meaningful input. At 7pm we finally settled on a pair of glasses. Even though it was closing time, the staff was still patient with me as we settled the ordering formalities. I say allllll this to say, if you need an eye doctor definitely check out Nostalgic Eye in Germantown! You will not be disappointed!!!

I am so impressed by the staff and care. They made it possible for all of us to come in at one time, instead of having to make three individual appointments. Dr. Herring is an excellent Optometrist. Ive been a patient for over a year and followed him to this new location. I called and got an appointment right away, my exam was thorough and all of my questions and concerns were addresses. There is a great selection of glasses to choose from at reasonable pricesand he and his staff have no issue helping you choose one. My glasses came in less than a week and they fit perfectly. The location is great, warm and friendly environment and super clean facility.

The appointment was ok. i wouldve appreciated more communication from the doctor during it. i found i had to ask more questions than what i was given. also this was during covid while we were in red phase and the doctor didnt wear a mask or gloves. and touched my face and eyes to apply drops. which is definitely not safe during this time especially. i was supposed to pickup an order and realized i hadnt been called yet so i called and left and message and no one got back to me. the order was supposed to be here a week ago and its been a week and 2 days (i messed up and thought it had been longer.) so i called again since i didnt receive a callback and i felt like i had to defend myself because the front desk woman didnt do a great job of explaining and was kind of snarky off the bat so i got even more defensive. then she put it on me and said i called upset. well yeah. sometimes you deal with that in customer service. idk i wont be going back there

I first visited Nostalgic last year and was very satisfied from the time I first walked through the door. The staff was very welcoming, as well as Dr. Herring. I ended up scheduling an appointment. Dr. Herring gave me an eye exam that was out of this world. I have had a ton of bad experiences with eye check ups, but this one was a breath of fresh air. He not only gave an awesome exam, he also helped me pick out beautiful frames which I get a lot of compliments on till this very day. Because of Dr. Herring, I have no more headaches at work because of my eyesight, and I can perform more efficiently because I can see a lot better and clearer. I was so satisfied with the service and care that I received, I am looking to have my sons eyes examined there as well. I also just purchased a second pair of glasses ALSO picked out by Dr. Herring. Overall, I would give Nostalgic Eyecare 5 stars 10 times!!! Wonderful experience, I would definitely recommend Nostalgic to any and everybody!!

This was a great experience from the first phone call, the exam, choosing frames and picking them up. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely do business here again.

I normally do not post reviews, but I had the most pleasing experience at Nostalgic Eye Care I could not resist! I was very happy to be seen quickly for my last minute appointment. The optometrist Dr. Herring was very friendly, knowledgeable and inviting. He made my experience a great one from the initial visit to the my frame pick up. I will continue to refer Nostalgic and use them for my eyewear and eye care!
