I was craving avocado toast being the basic chick that I am and was searching caviar for a place that had some that looked appetizing. I saw this place had a special which was ricotta and fire roasted tomato avocado toast. I decided to give it a shot and im so glad I did. It was delivered very quickly, so fast in fact, that I was still working out on my exercise bike. I had about 20min left when the food was delivered. I put it in the kitchen, finished my workout, took a shower (I promise this is going somewhere) and then sat down to eat. Even after letting it sit it was EASILY the best avocado Ive ever had. Which makes me wish I ate it right away, but I will say Ill be ordering here now ALL THE TIME.

I have been a loyal customer for over a year and I have been disappointed with the food pick up experience consistently. I order ahead because I understand your shortage of staff and I would wait almost an hour because I understand the shortage of staff. However once I get there, my order is never ready and the staff are always confused. More than a few times my order would be made incorrectly. I love you guys bc you have the best coffee in the area and I also want to support small businesses in times like this. But I’m starting to feel a little upset with the lackluster attitude your staff has. I hope it gets better and I hope this constructive feedback help.

Horrible service please avoid. They prioritize DoorDash orders over the people who walked in and paid for their food. I waited almost a half hour for one breakfast sandwich. With two cooks in the kitchen it’s unbelievable that one online order cripples the entire operation. The cool also kept stopping to ask questions because he was confused by the orders he was making. Then!! Oh then instead of getting my sandwich made the clerk offered a refund after I was already late for work. Maybe it’s the hunger talking but AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Staff not friendly at all. It’s a shame because it’s a neighborhood staple, and I’ve been here dozens of times because I like the food and coffee. Was holding my baby since this place isn’t stroller friendly. Other people’s drinks were made ahead of mine. Mine was made wrong not once, but twice and because the cashier didn’t write down my order properly. I paid almost $9 for a drink before tip and still didn’t get what I ordered and I had to wait extra long for it unnecessarily. I could also do without the incompetence and rudeness of the cashier.

Review №65

This would be one of my favorite coffee shops ever if they would be more accommodating to their customers.First off, the space here is one of the best in the city. You can choose outdoor seating, a lively cafe atmosphere indoors, or a quiet, secluded space upstairs that is ample in size and has super comfy couches for reading and lounging. The upstairs is my favorite. However, they have a $10 credit card minimum. To me this is unacceptable in 2017. With merchant companies like Square and technologies like Apple Pay, there is no reason to not accept digital payments for all transactions. Ditch your legacy high cost credit card processor and move into the 21st century. Lots of people share my sentiments on cash payments, and you definitely lose business because of this.So now that Ive been forced to spend a $1.50 fee to use your (in)convenient ATM machine to buy my cup of coffee, you dont offer a refill price for customers that wish to have their ceramic for here drip coffee mug refilled. Again, lots of coffee shops do this. So now Im only going to have one cup of coffee, and move on, instead of 3 or 4, which may have worked up my appetite to buy a snack (= more $ for business) but instead I left. This would be my go to coffee shop probably on a daily basis if they were more accommodating with their payment acceptance policies. I can get over the no refill price, although there should be one.So overall a great coffee shop with an awesome selection of seating and atmosphere, but with archaic and crappy digital payment and refill policies.

Good food, but staff is unattentive. My boyfriend ordered a nitro cold brew coffee and breakfast burrito. The person behind the counter gave him a regular cold brew even though when she started to pour it he tried to get her attention. She just looked at him and continued pouring. Not a huge deal, but its not what he ordered. I emded up going up and buying him a nitro brew (pictured and delicious). Then we waited 40 minutes for our two sanwiches. Again, no biggie because we werent in a rush. They brought out a burrito, but then took it back because my food wasnt ready yet.A couple minutes later we get our food and then they bring out another burrito because they accidentally made an extra one. They should probably question what is happening before just giving away food to people because 10 minutes later a guy is complaining that he has been waiting 50 minutes for his burrito... Unfortunately my boyfriend was already eating his burrito. It was just an awkward situation. It was good food, but service could be better.

There is no excuse for the poor quality of the food I ordered here. I was going to send an email to the cafe to express my frustration privately and ask for a refund but they do not have a public email. I ordered a black cold brew, croissant, breakfast burrito and a side salad. The coffee drink I was served was seasoned with spices(maybe cinnamon/nutmeg), my croissant was not included in my order and I had to go back and wait in line to ask for it, my burrito tasted like old fryer oil and my salad was a grease bomb. I work in the industry and have been a cook, barista and cashier. I left a generous tip but watched as two people who ordered food after me leave with their take out. The food was not seasoned, super greasy and pretty inedible. For a business that prides itself on pastry the croissant is embarrassing. You’re better off going to a deli and getting coffee from reanimator. I will not be back.

As an avid customer at One Shot, I feel the need to respond to Joseph S’s transphobic review. To Joseph S:Certainly, no one wants their experience at any café to be interrupted by an unpleasant odor, human-derived or otherwise. However, I have to call BS on the need for you to comment about the gender that you “could not identify” but clearly wish you could, in order— as you say-- to be specific.”First of all, Joseph, there are many ways to describe another human being that have nothing to do with gender and are actually far more accurate for the purpose of objective observation—for example, what they are wearing, the length and color of their hair, eye color, or height. In fact, as a socially constructed concept, gender is only decided by the individual and is actually unknown to all others unless explicitly told by said individual. So, Joseph, as you lean into your long, sad, life of trying to identify and pathetically shame others based on a gender that you “can not identify”—you should know that people with far bigger hearts than yours, and with a much wiser understanding and appreciation for gender, see right through your weak, back-handed attempts at transphobia. You don’t want stinky things when you eat? Great! Me neither. You want to try and mask your xenophobic wormy little brain with a comment about the unknown gender person needing to shower, than I have a message for you: You’re not fooling anyone. Nice try though. Maybe you can think it over in a nice, long, hot, shower, yourself. One Shot has always supported the LGBTQ community through ownership and patronage. For 15 years it has been a welcoming, safe, space for the community. No one will miss you.
