A cafe that’s got it all and has breakfast! The shop drew me in as it was a pastel mint exterior and I had try something from here. I got their iced matcha latte (matched the shop lol) and it wasn’t too sweet and it was actually refreshing! They had a great selection of pastries and they do offer breakfast sandwiches. A cute cafe right off on market and 3rd ☺️
Pretty little spot. Coffee and cocoa are good. Service is friendly and quick. There are some baked goods available too. Due to COVID restrictions, the shop can only allow three customers at a time so you may have to wait outside for a bit. There are two chairs and a small table outside the shop but no other seating at the moment.
Service was a little slow. The breakfast sandwich I got tasted good, but the eggs inside were cold. Their only way of warming up food is a panini press, which doesnt work well for big sandwiches. For the price, I expected better.
I’ve been coming here for a solid 6 years — this place is my favorite coffee shop in Philly and the larger universe we live in. Their mocha (both iced and hot) is some sweet nectar from the gods and every time I come back home to Philly I make sure I get one (or at least one a day if I’m staying close by). Great owners, service, coffee, and food — love this joint and you will too.
The staff are super friendly and helpful! The coffee is delicious. Try the honey spiced cortada for something unique & yummy!!
Great coffee in old city. Some pretty good breakfast items as well.
A quaint coffee shop. I actually stopped in by accident. I was visiting for the weekend and on the hunt for a good cup of coffee. This cafe did not disappoint. The staff were pleasant and friendly. My coffee was made to my liking. They serve breakfast sandwiches and a few sweet treats. Definitely a place to check out for breakfast, coffee or a latte.
I got a double espresso shot, which is very refreshing.
Beautiful little coffee shop with a good amount of seating. Shared tables and quaint decorations. The staff is very friendly and hospitable, they allowed me to sit and wait for a friend while she was late over an hour and I am grateful for that, they all have positive attitudes and have a good time working. Apart from that their coffee is delicious!!!
I am appalled by the service here. In the past Ive been given generally bad attitude. Today they charged me an extra 75¢ because i asked for a little more skim milk in my coffee. The exact quote was this is not a covid rule, milk actually costs more than coffee for us..... Pretty sure the cost for an extra couple oz of milk is built into the price of drip coffee. Its a shame because this is a neighborhood joint for me but I will but be returning.
The 3rd street location has friendly service, delicious coffee and awesome Irish soda bread!
Had the special turmeric latte. It was ok, too strong on the turmeric for my liking. The accompanying ginger cookie was quite good though. The place is a bit smallish but located in center city which doesn’t have a whole lot of coffee shops. Good place to spend some time enjoying your coffee but maybe too cramped to spend hours working without distractions.
I appreciate good coffee, and not Dunkin donuts coffee because thats not a real coffee.A good European coffee like it should be.I must point out that, this coffee shop is one of the best I had in the US
Menagerie coffee has a small menu of drinks but each one packs a large quantity of flavor. The ambience is very good (quiet but some coffee shop sounds), and usually has at least a handful of patrons to bring life to the interior. The food is good (highly recommend the yogurt and granola for breakfast), the coffee is good, and the service is okay. I recommend this place for an intimate coffee date, breakfast, and studying (granted there are not many outlets near the tables).
Was in town for 3 days. Went here 5 times. The staff was awesome and friendly every time. The coffee was exceptional every time. I would find an Airbnb in old city again JUST to be close to this shop for morning coffee.
Chill atmosphere and sweet employees. I had a delicious matcha latte with oat milk, definitely recommend.
A great espresso! Enjoyed the special with a monster cookie.
Cute little coffee shop in old city :)
This place is my favorite. They serve the most delicious creamy latte that I have ever tasted. They have a mini bookshelf so that anyone can enjoy reading books while drinking their coffee. A place of relaxation and delight.
Good pour over coffee
I was shocked by how rude the barista was. Wonder if she had a bad day but no one deserves that altitude from a neighborhood coffee shop.
Tastiest Chai I have ever had!! The flavors are spectacular and the drink is so smooth. I added a shot of espresso for an extra pick me up. Super cute store inside with plants and exposed brick.
Wonderful people work here that will remember your name and make your day, thats these folks.
Food was so appetizing. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. This place has many great reviews for a reason.
Menagerie is a decent coffee shop, they sell pastries (Great Cookies), coffee and tea. This might sound weird but the door isnt very big (Im not a huge guy, and I have a little trouble getting through the door) the size of the door mixed with the size of the front area always makes me think its a super small place, but there is seating in the back.Their coffee is good and they make a great Black Iced Tea. I just wish they made the Black Iced tea all year round, they only make it in the summer.
Rude staff, & coffee wasn’t good. Not impressed
By far the best coffee shop in Old City! Started visiting Menagerie after COVID hit so I havent quite had the full experience, but thats a testament to how well theyve handled the pandemic! Awesome people making awesome coffee! What more can you ask for?
Everyone at our table was quite pleased. fast and courteous service. menu is like a cafe in boston i loved.
Oat chai latte is great! Highly recommend. Yum!
Cute little shop with delicious lattes and many options

My new favorite coffee place in the city. From the moment you walk in, you know you are somewhere special. If youre in the area, definitely stop in and grab yourself something. Its definitely worth it. Grab a snack, too. They are amazing.
Great coffee and service
Grabbed breakfast with the wife and daughter and we all enjoyed the food. The service was quick and the food was great especially the grits
Atmosphere is bad. Coffee bad. It all bad.
Everything was phenomenal...the food, the atmosphere, the service, the wine.
I AM only giving it one star because I AM required by Google to hive a minimum of one star. I shall need to update the shops hours, because this place would normally close at 7PM. I think these are adjusted hours because of the covid19 situation. Regardless, I MUST still have coffee, and fortunately for me, there are other places in the vicinity that are still serving coffee.
Order: Iced Latte, CappuccinoPrice: $8Pros: Espresso was incredibly high quality, the staff was very friendly with offering suggestions and advice on the coffee, the seating was very well done given the peculiar dimensions of the space, centrally located to many of the historical sites.Cons: Parking was very difficult but given the area I think thats just a given for all places here.Thoughts: Continuing in our coffee adventures in Philly we walked into Menagerie coffee around mid day after trekking through a decent chunk of downtown. As soon as we walked in the aroma of espresso washed over you like a glorious preview of things to come. We browsed around for coffee beans for a bit and after talking to the employees on staff we settled on the espresso drinks as opposed to standard pour over coffee. The inside of the shop was very well designed given the limited space that they had. It was much longer than it was wide and they used that space very efficiently to create as much seating as they could while still keeping it from feeling overly cramped. Im not normally one to comment too much on just they layout of a place but I was very impressed with what they were given. The espresso was killer! Both the cappuccino and the iced latte were strong, full of flavor, had great body, and what was more impressive is that both the hot and cold were on point. Often a coffee house gets one or the other right but not both and they pulled them both off.I’d definitely come back here if I was ever in the area, but I can also understand how it would be frustrating to try and park in order to come here. It’s so close to the historical sites that parking was almost nonexistent. If you happen to be anywhere near the area thought you owe it to yourself to grab a cappuccino or latte here.
Great coffee, great food. A good place to step in and set up shop whether you are looking to relax, read, or get some work done. Thanks for the calm and collected environment.
Peaceful coffee shop with great coffee. Great options coffee wise, with a variety of brew methods. Super tasty pastries and lots of seating.
I am so happy i came Across this coffee shop. The two Baristas are fantantic im hooked.Everything is amazing from The Coffee, tea, lattees, Matchca, Banana vegan muffins are to out of this world.
Great place. Coffee was good. Great services. Everything was well organised. Staff were nice and friendly.
Popped in here while doing the Old City tour!Great little find along the historic mall district. The facade is vintage and rustic. Everything is a bit hippy dippy but definitely appeals to senses and sensibilities.More long than wide, the counter meets you on left and the baristas are very friendly and willing to help explain the different blends and roasts. Towards the back theres seating available for mostly small groups. The coffees are all drip and they have small plates for food/pastries.Its a cute spot for a treat but definitely on the expensive side - so I dont think this can be my daily coffee joint. The vibe is more sit and sip versus grab and go.Enjoy your time and treat yoself!
The servers are expertly trained.
Delicious oat milk mocha! This place is consistently amazing.
A delicious and cozy coffee shop. Went here for a quick coffee, with delicious lattes and coffee, but the best surprise was their yogurt and granola, would definitely recommend. The breakfast sandwich was okay, lacking in flavor. The service and ambience is wonderful. Would come back to relax, study, meet up with friends, or for a coffee date.
This place was awesome. Great services. Coffee was good. Food was delicious.
I had their Breakfast sandwich and an Americano. Both were amazing! Great atmosphere and friendly service! I’ll be back.
Not very nice folks.
Online ordering was a breeze, pick up was easy, food was great. Love this place!
Menagerie Coffee is definitely a welcome addition to Old City, and Old City needs more coffee shops! Friendly staff behind the counter, beverages and sandwiches of all kinds to please every palate, and plenty of seating in the form of tables, counters, and outdoor seating when the weather allows make for an experience that will have those who pay their first visit repeatedly coming back. A cup of their cold brew coffee really hit the spot on this hot, sunny day and I love how they keep some vanilla syrup on the same counter as the cream and sugar--a nice complement to my coffee!
Will surely make a return trip. it has a great interior. menu is like a place in miami i enjoyed
The pastries here are some of the best in the city and their espresso is fantastically NOT bitter. #goalsThe place was crowded but theres some wall space ledge thats useful. Lolz. They were amazingly not stuck up or too busy to offer great customer service. Ill definitely be back! 😍
Will surely make a return trip. it has a great interior. menu is like a place in miami i enjoyed
Amazing coffee shop, great selection of coffee and sandwiches, bagels, cookies and more. Good seating area too. If you are in the area you have to stop by. If you arent in the area, go to the area
Great atmosphere + super friendly staff. I accidentally spilled my coffee all over myself and my stuff and they couldnt have been more helpful or graceful about it! Will definitely be back :)
Had some pour over coffee which was very smooth and had an interesting flavor, not good or bad but it could have been the type of coffee I got. I got a roast beef sandwich on sourdough and that was amazing.Finished off my relaxing morning with a cappuccino and I gotta say this place has a great atmosphere and vibe to it.
Our favorite spot for coffee, chai latte and now quick bites (breakfast sandwich and tuna melt are gooooddddd). And I love sit next to window and people watching:)The music is calm too. So overall I like everything about this little place!
Fantastic cookies. Good coffee. But damn, their cookies are great!
Friendly, calmly spoken, calm vibe yet fast service... Delicious treats and tasty sandwiches... Great decor
All around great experience. Best mocha I’ve had in a long time. Hand poured coffee was too acidic for my liking. Nice selection of sandwiches and sweets. Adorable and attentive staff!
Fantastic coffee matched by impeccable service! My favorite in the city!
Great atmosphere. Wonderful baristas. Some of the best coffee you can get in Philadelphia. Pour over is great.
Excellent espresso. The best I have had in several trips to Philadelphia. Better than Rival Bros or Reanimator. Not necessarily my favorite decor/feel inside but the coffee is on point.
I had their Breakfast sandwich and an Americano. Both were amazing! Great atmosphere and friendly service! I’ll be back.
Love this place. The vibe and coffee are both amazing. The service is lovely too.
Extremely nice people work here and the coffee was great! Free coffee drink tickets when you buy coffee beans! Great deal.
This place has a very low standard of service. Unbearable mistakes that the employees won’t take responsibility for, like serving a milk cappuccino for milk intolerant person instead of dairy free, then blaming it on you - and not even replacing it. Or serving a dry, not fresh croissant at early morning, after I asked if it’s fresh, and refusing to replace it to a fresh item when I find out it IS over dry. It’s ok to make some mistakes. It’s not ok to have an arrogant approach, and to not take responsibility for your mistakes. Save your time, go to High St. on Market or any other place with better attitude.(2 stars since their coffee, when they don’t make awful mistakes or are too rude, is good)
If you like female soul music sung by the same artist throughout your visit, this place is for you. I didnt. Great coffee. Limited, but decent food options.
Nice little place. Pour over coffee was excellent, as was the breakfast tea. Sweet little spot to perch and do some work for a bit. Seemed very popular and seating was a tad hard to find.
A cozy little cafe with good coffee and food offerings. Conveniently located and with possibly (?) slightly more seating than other cafes in the area. Abundant power outlets and a nice vibe. A pretty good study spot.
Cute little coffee shop. The man who took our order was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Not too crowded or noisy. A good place to sit and people watch by the front window.
This is a lovely little spot, right outside the Gayborhood. The service was very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with a friend in their lovely little sitting area. The place was buzzing, but was not very loud. It would be a great spot to bring a laptop or book.
A cute, small, intimate space with most folks doing work and minding their own business. The coffee quality is great and the baristas were top-notch. Id gladly go back if I returned to Philly.
The nutella latte was awesome. I ordered it with non-fat milk, and its still milky and foamy!
