First time back there since the pandemic happened, and all is well. The staff is friendly; having knowledge of all media comics, directional and personable! 100% recommend to all comic and anime lovers alike!

Had the opportunity to shop here once before the Pandemic. I am from out of town and this was one of the shops I wanted to travel to and visit, and I am so glad that I did. I have had some dissapointing interactions at comic shops in the past. But Amalgam helped me restore my faith in them. A GREAT atmosphere, and FABULOUS owner and staff. I hope to be able to go back and visit and support again one day.

Great comic book shop with a great graphic novel and manga supply. Nice bathrooms. No food or drink at this time.

Outstanding atmosphere and customer service. Had everything I wanted and then some. Only complaint was not able to get their famous latte, was not brewing due to COVID-19 concerns

I cant speak on the food because they had to shut down the cafe early on in April, but besides that, the owner had a multitude of information about comics and gave us a tour of the store. She was very friendly too to my traveling companion explaining the types of books and products they sold and even some of her favourites.

I took my friend here as part of a birthday scavenger hunt and we had a great time. I’m not a comic enthusiast but the place seem to have a nice selection of comic books. The café had a nice variety of drinks, sweets, and snacks, and even had some vegan options as well! All of the staff were very friendly and two of them introduced themselves to us and offered help as we browsed. We bought a few comic books and some sweet potato bread which was fantastic! We then headed to the lounge area to eat and read. Perfect outing for a weekend afternoon.

Great place...not just for comics. Eclectic book selection as well. And refreshments!

I love this book store and cafe. We were there for an author reading, and stayed for the atmosphere. They have a great selection of graphic novels and other items for sale, with a nice cafe in the middle. Street parking is so-so, but it is on par for Philadelphia. Highly recommended!

The woman working went above and beyond to help us pick out comics for our nephews! Not knowing anything about comics are ourselves, this was super helpful. The coffee was also delicious!

Awesome space! Great vibes and great crowd. They were having a black owned business holiday bazaar with a lot of awesome vendors. Randy from the shop was super helpful and had some great suggestions for books for my 10-yr-old godson. Cant wait to go back!

This place is so absolutely wonderful, Id give it 20 more stars if I could. The food and coffee are great, the reading areas are comfortable, they have an Adventurers League for pickup D&D, and the staff are just so nice and helpful, so consistently. Its also a really diverse crowd, customers and staff, which is so refreshing and brings me such joy. Ive been a lover of comics and comic-adjacent entertainment since the 90s, and its so wonderful to see the hobby being loved and appreciated by more than just sweaty white dudes. There cannot be that many comic shops as rad as this in the whole world. We, as Philadelphians, are so incredibly lucky to have Amalgam. I love this place. So. Much.

Came here with my wife for a birthday getaway and it was epic.

A quaint place to be a nerd, this place accepts you for you. Comfy seating to read a new story and clever concoctions to drink on a cold day. Cant wait for them to do more (but already they have a big calendar!)

Its currently only open for pick up. 8/1. No browsing of the books just yet. But the door service was super friendly and really helpful with how to access their good stuff.

I love that this is a woman owned establishment. People there were friendly and helpful. I bought a comic and got some iced coffee. A very pleasant experience and will totally return.

Amalgam Comics is my favorite comic shop in the city. Definitely check them out if you’re into all comics and graphic novels.

Amazing little find! The food and coffee was amazing, cozy Atmosphere, and great staff. There is a section in the back for tabletop games to be played, and a kids zone. Could easily spend hours in there writing or reading.

I’ve been wanting to visit and support for awhile (live far away) and am so happy to finally have made it. Brought my family from out of town to see and there was something for all of us to enjoy.

The people here are extremely friendly and i love coming here. The bathrooms are extremely clean and they have delicious baked goods. I would recommend anyone who loves a cafe or comic book store to come here

I was never too into comics but this place is so great that Ive started my comic journey here. Owner and staff are friendly and knowledge. Theres a good amount of variety and I received recommendations to get started. Pleasant environment and cool events as well, such as DnD and a book club.

This place is just nerd perfect. An obviously curated collection of comics that anyone can enjoy. The staff is super approachable and obviously love being there.On top of that, the coffee is killer and the coffee cake I had was perfect. Ill need to try out the other treats next time I stop by.Oh! I also saw they have screenings. Either once a week or once a month, not sure.

There arent many comic shops left in Philly so when this place opened I felt like a kid again. This is the first female owned comic shop on the East coast and the shop offers cool comics, graphic novels, book signings and live discussions every month. There are also tasty treats, sandwiches, coffee and drinks to be had while you sit and read your favorite book. This will be my new chill spot for a long time.

Ive been in town visiting each comic book shop while here and this is my fourth this week. This was an awesome place to relax grab a cup coffee and a sandwich, take a look at the comics they had going on which was a nice collection of newer releases, variants, TPB, and other cool stuff. Then sit down and read in nice comfortable chairs. The woman that owns the place was really nice. She said Sunday is the day to come down to hangout with the locals. Will definitely be going back when Im in town.

Not only do they have a huge selection of comics and great coffee and snacks, with really fun names and flavors . the staff bent over backwards to help me get a comic book I really want. they called other stores to track it down for me and had it for me the same week. Amalgam is own by a woman and as a female nerd I went in and was treated with the respect any male comic fan is at other comic shops. I Will Never Go Or Buy From Another Comic Book Store AGAIN. I love Amalgam Comics and Cafe!

I love this place! Woman owned, superhero themed specialty coffee drinks, and comic books everywhere. Theres space for larger gaming groups as well. This is a really nice spot for comic book fans to hang out and get some coffee and pastries.

Great community spot for comics and games in Kensington. They offer a huge space with various titles for sale, as well as comic subscriptions for avid fans. The cafe is small, but offers a variety of themed baked goods and bagels to chew on after a purchase. (Also beneficial is the variety of milk alternatives they offer for their teas and coffees, I appreciated the oatmilk!) The prices were beyond reasonable for sure. Amalgam also offers a space for D&D Adventurers League, in which, they also include at LGBTQ+ table as well. Very welcoming shop and definitely worth supporting!

Amalgam is simply the best comic shop that I know. If I lived closer Id be in there every morning for coffee and a new comic book. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, quick to recommend a good title. And the store is involved in its community, putting on a variety of programs. I cant say enough good things about Amalgam!

Great place for kids and adults. Whether you are a regular comic book reader or new to the genre, the staff will help you find something to suit your tastes. With the wide variety of story lines, awesome role models for girls and boys, comics from Amalgam have become my familys main source of entertainment. It puts a whole new spin on family reading time.

The coffee is what I tend to go there for and its good, the baked goodies are great too. Atmosphere is not pretentious like some coffee shops. Plenty of space for meeting up with people. In fact there are quite a few clubs/groups that do, if the flyers posted around are any indication.

I was really surprised at how large their space was and the variety of their selection! Pretty freaking great spot! I had the butter beer latte and the was pretty great too without being TOO sweet!

Amalgam is a revolutionary comic store! The staff is friendly and knowledge and will genuinely take the time to make sure that you find a series youll love reading. The café side is amazing as well, with great food, fair trade coffee, and plush couches to sit and enjoy your purchases. Although this comic store is far from my house, I will continue to buy comics here, after such a stellar experience.

Staff are helpful when looking for anything and their recommended series rack hasnt failed me yet. Drinks and snacks are also dope (recommend the butter beer). Always a good time.

My brother and I went to check this place out earlier this afternoon. It was very well set up, they had coffee, snacks, and a nice selection of comic books that my brother couldnt stop looking through. I liked the place so much I filled out an application! (Fingers crossed) I wish I could have met the owner as well to let her know the store is great and well be coming back soon to taste their coffee/read comics.
