First, let me preface by saying my husband and I have now dealt with Barbera’s 5 times. Each experience has been top notch! John Pagano goes above and beyond to help us find the vehicle that fits our needs. Geno not only greets us each time we walk through the door, but also makes sure we are being taken care of to our satisfaction. The showroom is always full of business but the salesmen always have time to smile, give a kind greeting or offer a cold beverage. My most recent purchase had to be ordered and John sat with me and went over all the options and together we built an amazing vehicle! I also wanted to add vinyl pieces to the hood and John hooked me up with a great guy that could provide that service. My husband is now awaiting his newest vehicle to arrive, the process had a small glitch, but Geno and John have gone above and beyond to rectify that situation. Ugh… this place.In my lifetime, I bought four cars. A brand new Nissan Juke; good service. A certified pre-owned Toyota Prius; okay service. A certificated pre-owned Mercedes-Benz from Carvana; best service, hands down. And a brand new Jeep Wrangler from Barbera Autoland; the worst service of my life. One would think 62k for a new vehicle (the most expensive vehicle we ever bought and worked very hard for) would motivate any salesman to offer excellent service. However, for salesman John Pagano, skinning a sheep once is far more valuable than gaining and keeping a customer.Due to COVID 19, we had to pre-order our new Jeep. At ordering time, Mr. Pagano quoted us a lower price; however, on pick-up day, Mr. Pagano increased the price by an additional 2K. At this point, we questioned the price increase. Mr. Pagano claimed, “fat fingers” were to blame for the price increase. And only after we showed the original paperwork showing the first price quoted did he lower the cost to the actual price.To add insult to injury, after arriving home- of course, the first thing we want to do is ride our Jeep topless! At this point, we noticed the top had two huge scratches. We texted Mr. Pagano imminently regarding this- Mr. Pagano stated the scratches happened during delivery, and he assured us that by Thursday of the upcoming week, a new top would be available for us. Seven Thursdays later, we are still waiting for our new top.Mr. Pagano and management continue to give us one poor excuse after another regarding the top arrival. Unfortunately, Gary Barberas Autoland is not planning to do the right thing here. Instead of ordering a new top, they wish to wait for a new fleet of Jeeps to arrive, to switch the top and bamboozle another customer. Disgraceful.Lessons learned:1. If you must buy from Gary Barberas Autoland, ensure you don’t buy from John Pagano, who will try to cheat you in any way he can, changing the price agreed on or selling a defective product to maximize gain.2. Ask for all paperwork to be printed, and take copies. Read all papers given, especially number sections, to avoid alleged “fat fingers” mistakes.3. Check every inch of your vehicle; even when buying new, you don’t want to be the lucky winner of the scratched-up top, which Gary Barberas Autoland is trying to pass on to someone else.I can only hope Gary Barberas Autoland is willing to do the right thing: get a new top and stop trying to pass on a defective top to another Jeep customer.On the other hand, I am very happy that Gary Barberas Autoland loves to advertise all over the city and the shore- allowing me the opportunity to engage anyone and share my experiences. My monthly goal is to share my feelings and personal experience regarding my Jeep purchase at Gary Barberas Autoland with a minimum of eleven people.Every month that passes in which Gary Barberas Autoland fails to do the right thing; provide us with a new top, Ill give Gary Barberas Autoland a one-start review updating my ongoing troubles- its only fair.
