Mike performed a major repair on my cars engine in a timely fashion. He was very willing to hold a conversation about the ins and outs of the repair, and was able to explain things in a clear and professional manner. He has earned my trust, so I will be recommending him to my friends and family for their auto repair needs.

My parents always said what makes a great repair shop or mechanic is tht while not Only working on your car, they teach you about your car and how to not make the same mistakes with your car. This shop was very patient, understanding, and informant to me about pricing, the damage to my car and how i can better take care of it. They put in a new engine in my car but the information was priceless and also took their time to do everything right, to make sure it was running great before giving it back

In the middle of a pandemic, my truck decided it was time to get upset with having been driven for 1/4 of a million miles in the salty swamps of the NE. The best option seemed to be a re-manufactured engine. After thinking about doing the swap myself, I found Authorized just down the road from home. I could walk down to check progress, so I had the new engine sent straight to them and dropped the truck off when it arrived.Mike was brilliant to deal with, didnt have a problem with me supplying parts I already had or sourcing the engine, managed to turn the job round in less than a week, picked up the phone when I called and did a really decent job on the swap.No hard sell, no hidden extras, no unexplained delays and a fair price. Mike and his dad are genuine, knowledgeable and hard working.

Amazing place to get your annual safety and emissions testing and of course other repairs. Mike the owner runs a genuine non fleecing business. I have been going to this place for three years now and its a small but very nice family owned business. Repairs and replacements are done only if theres a need. I am beyond happy with the work Mike and company did on my 2007 Tahoe!I had ahead gasket go when i was in town for a work trip, and i called a lot of shops who were unwilling to even attempt the repair. Many suggested i replace the engine.Not only did Mike fix the problem, he had it done almost a week earlier than he estimated.I will be using Authorized in the future when i relocate to Philadelphia.I cannot recommend Authorized Motor Service enough!

My engine was knocking on my 2005 Buick LeSabre. Yeah yeah I know, you’re probably asking why? Well I already put money into that car, money’s tight and to me it made sense. I called AMSI to see if I could stop by to have someone take a look (well listen) at my vehicle. I spoke with Mike, he said “We’re booked for today but if you want you can stop by and I can take a listen.” You see right there, he still made time for me! I loved that! Mike was awesome and always welcoming each time I stopped by. He called and notified me that my engine had came in, he also said I can come see the engine before he installed it. If I need any engine work done in the future, I will return to Authorize Motor Service Inc. without a doubt!Thank you Mike!

I just like to make those of you whos consider authorized motor as a place to have your vehicle serviced I had an engine placed in my truck at last no more than 14 months I was given a run around with the initial work that was to be done that led up to me having to have them place a motor in my truck after that drove the truck home broke down on the way he suggest that I put some fluid in the engine to get me home never made it drove it for 14 months nothing but problems through hundreds of dollars into the vehicle check engine light came on same day after having them place a engine in my truck do not waste your time or money with this shop I am not just out to destroy their business this is a fact I wish Id never never ran into this company go elsewhere if you dont want a headache

DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I took my GMC 3500 U-haul truck to them on 6/17/13 was told by the female receptionist Amy the engine needed to be pulled out of the truck and torn down to see if it could be saved and that it would cost $1,000 to pull it but if it needed a new engine the $1,000 would be used towards the cost of the replacement motor. I asked if it needed a replacement how long would I be without the truck. I was told it would only take about 3 days...FIRST LIE! I paid the $1,000 and after a few days was told my engine was no good because of cracked pistons. I was told my options were a re manufactured engine or a used engine. I opted for the used engine. After about a week I called for my truck and was told by Amy the engine had not been shipped yet...probably the SECOND LIE! After more days went by I was told the truck would not be finished until 7/8/13...two weeks!!! because the whole shop was going on vacation....VACATION?? after receiving my $1,000 deposit? I was told that all the mechanics had to do was finish up and test drive the truck when they returned...probably the THIRD LIE!!! 7/8/13 NO CALL FROM THEM! 7/9/13 NO CALL!!! 7/10/13 NO CALL!!!! finally on 7/11/13 I CALLED THEM! and was told by Amy oh your truck is done you can come pick it up I get there pay the $2,295 balance drive the truck from south Philly to West Oak Lane...a 20 min drive. While on the road I noticed truck ran like crap, loud tapping and no power! I get the truck home and take it to a local shop on my neighborhood and the mechanic there checked the truck and found all the bold were loose on the manifold and NO gaskets!!!! I call back to Authorized Motor Services and Amy tried to talk over me! Telling me they dont put gaskets on motors that come in. What??? I pay $3,295 and you send the truck out with exhaust leaks and wont put on manifold gaskets? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? She even has the nerve to tell me to tell the mechanic who pointed out their poor work to try an tighten the manifold bolts!!!!!! Now let me get this straight...I am supposed to pay someone else to do the work I ALREADY PAID YOU TO DO?????Poor work, lots of double talk and out right lies! I had to argue with her to bring the truck back tomorrow. They are either going to fix my truck right or we go to court! I am not going to argue with her and I am the CUSTOMER!DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!

I once had a problem with my fathers 2003 Hondas AC. I brought it to Authorized Motor Services and they solved the problem within minutes. Since then, whenever we have a problem with any of our cars, we would bring it to this shop. Very satisfied with their work. They are great people and they do great work.

After having several estimates in the $5,000 to $4,000 range to replace an engine in my Ford F150. I had my vehicle towed to Authorized Motor Service 1112 South 8th Street only to find that I did not need an engine after all. Their honesty saved me over $3,000 and I am grateful. I saved so much money I had the vehicle inspected and brake work done. Thumbs up to Authorized Motor Service. It is refreshing to find honest business owners in these difficult economic times. I will go here for any work that they can do to my vehicle as long as I live in Philadelphia, PAFast forward March 12th, 2015 and once again Authorized Motor Service to the rescue. I went to Pep Boys located at 31st and Allegheny Ave and in addition to what appeared to be a hostile environment, they did a check engine light diagnostic on my engine to determine a condition for repair. On day one while scheduling to return in two days for the diagnostic, their was an argument between the manager and a elderly female customer who ordered tires from Pep Boys online. And on day two when I returned to be serviced, their was an argument with a customer over unauthorized charges. This customer was so enraged that he spoke of bringing a gun back and shooting someone. (Not the type of place that I will return) As for my issue they insisted on repairs that I did not need once again, and because I chose to get a second opinion I saved hundreds of dollars. I chose to go to Pep Boys first simply as a matter of convenience and I regret it because the faulty diagnosis cost me $104.00. I had a check engine light which was the result of a misfire. So I replaced all the wires and plugs. Problem solved. I highly recommend Authorized Motor Service to service either you engine or transmission because I have used them for both.

My experience was great! My expedition had blown a spark plug and the threads were stripped and the truck ran terrible! I called and spoked to the very knowledgeable receptionist and she made me wanna come in! My truck was repaired the same day and I was kept up to date as to what was going on throughout the day! Outstanding customer service and the mechanics communicate very well also! (Despite the accent) Lol.... I will be returning and anybody who reads should check them out!

2/3/15I had the pleasure of meeting Amy, Jerry and some of the other staff at Authorized Motor Service Inc. when my transmission needed to be replaced. Although the company that sold me my extended warranty for my 2000 Dodge Intrepid was giving me some outrageous demands that they wanted to take place before they paid anything, Jerry and Amy went to bat for me. And although I ended up cancelling my policy with that warranty company before it was too late, I still ended up saving a lot of money by paying only half of what the transmission would have cost. Amy is the BEST, because she moved heaven and earth to make this happen for me, and she also surprised me by having it replaced ahead of schedule. You can’t beat service like that. It is so reassuring to know that in today’s society, there are still small business out there that are all about customer service and satisfaction, and not what they can get out of you. Thanks to Mike and his dad who did a great job on my car. My muffler died when I was visiting Philadelphia and had to return to Montreal. They quickly took matters into their own hands. The estimate provided was consistent with the amount charged and the work was done diligently.
