I am grateful we still have Barnes and Noble in center city! So glad to it has survived ...And staff are doing their best to provide excellent service ...despite pandemic related challenges. They bring their sunshine to the store. They are very worthy of our patronage and support.

The store has a decent selection of books, magazines, toys, gifts, plus a small Starbucks cafe. The staff is fine. What I do not like is the store feels very crowded and rickety and the escalators are wobbly and scary. The elevator is always “out of commission” and there are no stairs for customer use. Not my favorite B&N.

My 12yr old absolutely loves books and will spend hours just looking around if allowed. He’s an amazing kid. Couldn’t find some books he was looking for but also found some he wasn’t looking for. Customer service wasn’t the best but not the worse. Convenient location with multiple floors to look through and even a Starbucks inside. Our 10yr now wants to visit here so hopefully we will be back soon.

Everybody I encountered was very helpful and friendly. It felt as a visit with good friends. From the sweet lady at the register who found my reserved book, to a young men at the information and book search station on the second floor answering all my questions about the kids Halloween themed category, and finaly, the friendly young men at the Cafe making my refresher, went above and beyond to show good customer service and professionalism!

Not sure what the problem is at this location but whomever Julie is needs some retraining. When you see a customer standing in line it might be better to say “can I help you?” Instead of do you need something? Of course I need something, I’m standing in line. Just a bad attitude during the whole transaction. I won’t be returning.

Barnes & Noble is for the person that still believes in shopping in a retail store and reading an actual book. Huge selection of practically everthing written in print as well as clever gift ideas.Only 4 out of 5 stars simply because of the extremely small selection of discounted books. Virtually everything is full price.

Up escalator was out of service. Elevator was slow. Only one register open and the gentleman that was on it complained. Its always something was the comment made when I asked was there only one register open after waiting for 10 minutes with only one person in front of me. I know there is a staffing shortage everywhere, but rudeness where I spend my money. Not acceptable.

I recently visited the store to purchase a book. The book was offered on B&N website at a reduced price. I asked if I could pay the website price and the clerk advised me the register was not capable of adjusting the price. I’m a faithful B&N customer but I walked out and bought it from Amazon for $3 less than the reduced price.

This is probably my favorite bookstore because of the wide selection of books for any reader. They always have exactly what I’m looking for and the employees are always so polite when I ask about a book. I’m a mainly fantasy and dystopian reader and the amount of books that they had in the fantasy section was insane. Overall if you are looking for new books to read or trying to find a book off of your TBR than I would one hundred percent recommend going to this bookstore. I don’t live very close to it and I am willing to drive around 45 minutes to get there even though there is a closer Barnes and Noble.

Note: as of this post, 8/28/20, they are downsizing certain sections of the store.Ive been coming to this location for quite sometime. Actually, since before they took out the location in the gallery before it became the fashion district. Anywho, massive collection of books, and the such. Funko pops are scattered, throughout. As are vinyl records (which, both, seem to be low in quantity). So long as the changes dont spell a soon-to-close scenario, we should be fine.

I dig this shop/location so hard!!!Its a real big, 3 floor, 1 cafe shop (2nd floor with bathrooms) and escalators to each floor (no staircases/elevators).Ive never had a bad nor uncomfortable nor even remotely unpleasant/unhelpful experience with CSRs throughout nor in the cafe and security has always been chill, but still on point.Ive had a lot of luck with perpetual sales and promotions that they always seem to be running on a bunch of merchandise too. Good deals! The cafe is pretty decently sized with a lot of tables and bench-style wall seating. There are multiple electrical outlets scattered throughout too. Given the shops size, tho, the seating/tables/outlets get snagged up quick (and for long periods bc of the high number of schools in the area leading to many students chosing to study/work there). Ive had to stake out possible seats/tables opening and keep UTD on their status so I dont lose an opening to another customer first. Be forewarned! The location across from rittenhouse is clutch if the weathers nice.. Its easy to grab a quick coffee, book, journal, etc. and take it over and chill in the park a while.5/5 rating 🤘

They have good children selection, I thought it to be organized, the store employee was very nice. My only problem was the security guards that kept roaming around every so often like sharks that had spotted a prey. Really made me feel uncomfortable being I was with all 5 of my kids, see they dont notice those things, but I do. I do not want to visit a place that is constantly making you feel like you are a criminal, as if I have given them a reason to circle me when Im with my kids. Just so you know I wore a neon work shirt with the company I work for, I think if there was anyway I wanted to steal I wouldnt be walking around with it. Ya really need to change ya tactics, lowes had a lawsuit because of the same tactics ya doing.

Ive been going to this place since I was a kid, its been around forever. The staff is always nice and friendly, despite the size of the place its always clean and as nest as a busy store can be. The book selection is large, along with having planners, games, gifts, and toys. The cafe is always a little packed, but the place has a come and sit feeling. The staff isnt pushy about the store membership which makes interacting with them a good experience. The only con is that the store does attract a large homeless population, I wish more social and city services came to help them.
