This guy is a fast talking crook. I brought my 2004 Jaguar to this place for a fuel issue. I ordered a new pump previously but it turned out not to be the problem, so I called Sigismondi. I mainly dealt with a woman who answered the phones and did all the scheduling. In our first conversation she told me it would be $195 to diagnose the issue and if I decided to move forward with the repair the price would be deducted. I told her I was at work and that I could have AAA tow the car to her. She told me to call once AAA picked up the car.I called as instructed and Joe (owner/ mechanic) answered the phone. I explained that I was returning the call as instructed by (unkown womans name) because my car was on its way. Joe proceeds to ask me what year car etc.. He then tells me the car is too old and that because Its not newer jaguar I have to leave a deposit and its $195. I responded Your (secretary) and I discussed this already but she did not say I needed to pay first, my car Is already on its way He reiterated that I would have to pay. I asked if I could bring the money after I got off work he said yes. Fast fwd an hour I called again and the woman answered. I asked if I could pay over the phone to which she replied she did not know. She said she had to ask and told me she would call me back once the mechanic returned. I never received a call.The next day the mechanic (Joe) calls me and said he diagnosed the car and itll cost 12-1300 to fix. He told me that is parts and the labor would bring me to that number. I told him I cannot afford to spend 1300 on a car right now so he asks what can I afford. (Huh??) He then says he might be able to work with me and fix the module in the car already and brought the price to 700. I told him I cant afford that either and that I was hoping to get the car diagnosed FIRST to see WHAT the problem was. This is where the conversation went south really quick. Joe starts fast talking me saying I cant get my car back for $200 dollars because he spent 3 hours diagnosing it. (Earlier he said he knew immediately what the issue was) I explained that his secretary said that it was $195 for a diagnosis. He said that is not what she said and that its $195 and up for diagnosis. I asked how do you know what she said you werent there. He responded shes been doing it for 30 years. I retorted Shes human isnt she? Then she isnt infallible. There was a lot of back and forth at this point. Threats of keeping my car on his end, calling the cops and court on mine etc. He tells me that hes not going to diagnose my car for me to take it somewhere else for repair once I know what the issue is. I say THATS WHAT I PAID FOR!! A DIAGNOSIS. Thats is literally what the word means.Throughout this ordeal, Joe was hollering, and called me a professional criminal. Ultimately I was forced to pay him $500 dollars to get my car back. I was given a 30 day warranty on the repair. Two days later on Fathers day my car stopped running again. I called Joe on that Monday and told him the car is doing the same thing it was doing before. He accused me of going into the fuse box and messing around with whatever he did. I reminded him that I dont know what he is talking about because he never told me what he fixed, then he blamed it on the fuel pump. I told him the pump was brand new and he proceeded to tell me it was a cheap pump and that I needed to buy a Jaguar pump. I told him both pumps worked when 12v were applied to the terminals and I had The one in the car and the original jaguar pump. He still blamed the pump. I had the original jaguar pump put in and my car still wont start. This dude is a rip off. Wont even look at the PART THAT HEFIXED STAY AWAY FROM SIGISMONDI

O went there to see about chrome rims for my Mercades left them my number and havent heard anything after two weeks ..I wonder if they work on cars like this

Positive experience, quick and helpful service. Took my 2004 BMW x5 there because they specialize in BMW and Mercedes-Benz. My engine had started running rough without apparent reason. I took it there near closing time, they called me the next morning, told me what was wrong, and gave me an estimate. They said that I needed a fuel injector and 2 coils replaced. They said $850 around $550 for parts and the rest for labor (I do not remember the exact numbers). Which seems to make sense because BMW parts are very costly. They had it fixed by the end of the day, and the cost was exactly as they had described before. After I left my engine was still rough, so I was a little frustrated. I called early the next morning and they told me to bring it right over. I did amd they fixed very quickly, while I was there. Apparently a 3rd coil had gone bad, and they replaced it free of charge, and the problem was resolved for me. They had also previously checked and refilled my cars fluids. The service was great, and tho there was a slight problem, they were quick to handle it at no extra charge. After hearing many horror stories about mechanics, I am glad that I was not subjected to this. I would definitely recommend them.

Thank goodness for this place (and for Yelp reviews)! Normally I go to the place near where I live; but I needed to get a million things done (including an inspection) and didnt have time to go back and forth from the city to the burbs.I crossed my fingers, and brought my car in to Sigismondi, and I was not disappointed. The service was speedy, reasonably priced and I was on my way. I saved a boatload of time (and gas). Now I know where to steer people when they want something in the city.

So I was driving with my friend the other day in South Philly and her (older) Volvo broke down. We called her dad and he recommended that we go to Sigismondi Car Specialists, so we got the car towed over there immediately. I ended up staying with her because she was able to talk to the owner right away and he said he would able to have the car up and running in about 2 hours. I thought it sounded a bit too good to be true, but sure enough the car was ready to go in under 2 hours and we were able to drive on our way, without wasting the whole day! The owner was really friendly and accommodating and the prices were surprisingly reasonable (I feel like they could have taken advantage of two, young women who dont really know much about cars). Overall it was a quick, painless car fix and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs quick help with a foreign car.

We have all heard the stories of car owners who take their vehicles to mechanics, only to have the same problem reoccur. It can make us apprehensive, but I never worry about that at Sigismondi Foreign Car Specialists. I have a 99’ Lexus SC 400, and have been dealing with Joe for several years. My first experience was the best as Joe and his employees showed true professionalism and concern. They provided other mechanics’ rates in the area and same day break servicing. Joe is slightly more expensive, but you get the high quality you pay for.

While I have never had a foreign car, these foreign specialists really do their job well on all cars. I went in for a simple inspection and was able to pick the car up fairly quickly and had excellent service. I was happy to go to a locally owned company rather than a huge corporate name too. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good service!

I was hoping for a minute-long consultation with someone that could assure me they could fix the problem at a reasonable rate, but the man in charge decided he couldnt spare a minute of his time to even hear my problem. No semblance of customer service, and apparently no need for new customers.

These people are thieves. They will charge you for work they didn’t do, and the wrong work at that. I had a warning light on my car I had them check and address, they charged me for the fix that not only wasn’t what was wrong with it in the first place, but also they didn’t actually do any work. He just turned the warning light off. Then after I drove the car for 5 minutes, it came back on. Took it to a dealership and got the real story. Do not take your car here if you care about it. Not sure how this place has any business, they must do ok work for their friends or something. If you look at older reviews, there’s one from a woman who was basically assaulted by the owner after she complained about some similarly shady things they did with her car. Do some research into this place, the only thing they specialize in is ripping people off

RIP OFF!this review is late however true nonetheless, summer of 2017 took old 1995 mercedes c220 for power steering hose replacement---cost 1400$----90 day warranty thru 11/2017---power steering failed day after warranty expired...this business had the audacity to put their advertisement around my license plate---I did not ask nor wanted them to do so...do I get a discount for advertising? I would not send nor recommend anyone [to this establishment].

Joe was great. He was able to fix a problem that other mechanics could not. He assured the car was running like new when he was finished.

I have a 99 Volkswagon Jetta and I have been through the works with this car. In this last occurrence, my catalytic converter was basically shot and I needed to have it replaced. First the staff made sure to explain me what a catalytic converter was and the reason it malfunctioned. Secondly, they staff provided me with an estimate and went the extra mile to let me about competitive replacement rates in the area.Even though they werent the cheapest I decided to work with Sigismondi, and it turned out to be the best decision. My car is still running smoothly and Joe and his team really gave me some great aftercare tips.Ill definitely return if I have another issue.

I drive a stunningly beautiful midnight metallic blue Porsche 911 Carerra 4S convertible, the kind of car that turns heads and gets compliments on a regular basis. Needless to say, I dont trust just anyone with this fine poster-worthy machine. Sigismondi, however, is the only mechanic I use. I enthusiastically recommend this place for any high-end automobile (especially German and Italian). They bring an old-word dedication to craftsmanship to the high art of auto mechanics. And its a small and family-run business, which makes interfacing with them in special circumstances (e.g., quick turn-around, last-minute oil change before heading out of town, etc.) very easy. So glad I found this place.

After a bad fender bender from a hit and run, I brought my 2005 BMW to Sigismondi Foreign Car to fix the damage and repaint the car. My wife talked me out of going through the insurance for fear of rate hikes and given that it was a hit and run, we didnt have many choices. Long story short my father referred me to Sigismondi and Im glad he did. These guys did a wonderful job on my beemer and the paint is a perfect match. Those who saw my car when it was damaged cant believe its the same car now. They gave me a fair out of pocket cost and with the quality of worl done, im very impressed and pleased that I chose them. Just as my father did for me, I would refer this place to anybody looking for good work, from great people at a fair price. Thanks Sigismondi for a job well done!
