I LOVE these guys! They are friendly and helpful and honest. Everyone recommended them to me when I moved to the area and started having car troubles and knowing theyre so reliable has taken tons of stress off my mind. They have great prices and do quality work. They will treat you and your car right. Its no wonder their customers are so loyal!

I started using these guys during the pandemic while my other mechanic was closed. They can be very busy at times so you might need to wait for an appt., but twice now I’ve had a check engine light come on, and they told me come by and they’ll check it out and both times they were fast and courteous, fit me in between other work just so I know I it’s safe to keep driving and get me back on the road. I trust their diagnostics and they’re professional and explain well what is wrong. They even sent an inspection reminder card in the mail like the dentist or vet.

Two brothers has this awesome shop. Genuine and true to their service. Took good time to explain the process on the phone and also in person. They also took the additional effort to find battery for me which was not the one they offer. They offer free pit stops too. Love them !!!They are the only shop I will ever go.

These mechanic/owner brothers are good and they perform my yearly inspection with great ease, reasonably priced and efficient. BUT, not this year...I had an 8am appt. and I couldnt pick up my car until 4pm the next day and it cost close to $600 ... $400 for one tire which I dont understand still cause I didnt drive my car more than 300 miles due to covid! Might have to find another inspection station.

My daughter, who is in her last year of college, went to Monte & Sons with very serious car problems. Issues that could be repaired at the shop were fixed for a fair price but then they realized she needed a major transmission rebuild and had a leaking fuel system as well. After referring her to a trustworthy transmission shop Monte & Sons continued to look up her cars model make year and related issues, called a dealer and uncovered a recall as well as an issue that could be fixed under the power train warranty. They had her quickly take her car from the transmission shop (a repair that would have cost thousands of dollars) and get into a dealership who ended up doing extensive work on her car; for free! My little girl is only 21, has very little money, we are in the middle of a pandemic, partially unemployed and can barely help her. I cannot tell you how much this meant to our family. You didnt need to be this amazingly kind but you were. We will tell everyone we know that you are THE BEST auto shop in the area!!!

Rick and Pete set the standard for customer service and honesty in the mechanic business. I recently needed to come in last minute for an oil change before heading out of town and they were able to fit me in right away. I started going to Monte and Sons approx 7 yrs ago and I’ve been extremely happy with the maintenance and repair work performed on our car. I’ve always found their costs to be fair and reasonable and the workmanship is awesome. They won’t try to up-sell you and will make helpful recommendations about the best way forward. If you need to drop your car off during business hours, they will offer you a ride home and then offer to pick you up if needed. Couldn’t ask for a friendlier shop.

At Monte & Sons Auto Repair, Inc I was able to get a same day appointment for my break light that had gone out. The staff took very good care of me; doing a thorough inspection of my car, providing the services I needed including an oil change, topping of my fluids and checking my tire pressure. They went above and beyond providing viable recommendations for an issue Ive been trying to get fixed by the dealership.The staff at Monte & Sons Auto Repair, Inc is extremely friendly providing dealership like service in a neighborhood mechanic shop setting. Upon getting an oil change and tires filled it was a great experience. I got picked up and dropped off. Reasonable prices for it and they filled the tires and checked everything. Later that night I noticed a check engine light. I called and they texted me to come in whenever, and they would address it. I did and Pete explained the issue and it was no cost and he explained it in a way that I totally understood. I wouldn’t trust anyone else and they have always been so friendly, reliable, reasonable and always did great work. I’ve taken my car there since 2015 and would trust no one else with my car. I hope they stay in business for a long time !!!

Monte & Sons turned out to have all the things offered by my former mechanic; they do great work, they’re honest, they take good care of your vehicle and they don’t gouge you on the price. Dropped my car off there twice. Once for inspection and another time for repair. Experience went well both times. Plus they can usually get your car done in a reasonable time frame.

I found this place when my battery died nearby. AAA has free 5 mile towing and they had the best reviews in the 5 mile radius.Now I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else! Everyone who works there is friendly and down-to-Earth.Just one way they stand out is, if they tell me the problem and I say, “okay but what exactly does the that mean?” or “What does that device do?” Ricky will pull out a colored schematic and explain to me in detail what it means, what the device does, the problem with it and ways to solve it. Answering all my questions until I understand.I’m not very car savvy (though I’m getting a little better). That coupled with being a woman can make getting car repairs extra stressful. That first time I went to their shop I was WAY behind on routine maintenance because the mechanic I had trusted had retired. I have had issues with shadier auto motive places in the past. It was so time consuming and stressful to find someone I could trust that I ended up not taking it anywhere.So i can’t stress enough how great and refreshing it is to take my car to knowledgeable, awesome people who will answer my questions and fix my car. Who will tell me issues that I will need to deal with in the future or tell me something I thought I could put off is something I definitely can’t. It is stressful enough having a car, in general. By far my favorite place to take my car in the 15 years Ive been owning cars. The guys always make time to get my car in and out, even, as today, late in the afternoon on the day after a holiday. Theyll check the car over well, get the work done fast, and they are very affordable, too. Living in Mt. Airy, they are easy to get to, and theyve offered me a lift in the past if the car had to be there for a while. They are also right by the 23 and XH buses to get into town.

Thay over charged on labor and got this strange habits of telling you that your oil is low putting oil over the required level will destroy your engine charged me for itt with other things charged you...I was even charged for a air flow filter that was never installed... this is not a place to bring your car....Your a Bunch of Money Grubbing Crooks...

Never again. Go see Bob at Gabriel Goodyear on ridge. Cars been running like a dream ever since for very reasonable prices.

Very disappointing experience.Upon recommendation of a friend I took my newly purchased used car to their shop on a Thursday.It was explained to me that they were short 2 mechanics and I was asked to bring the car back the following Wed.I agreed and returned the following Wed.I went on a road test with owner Ricky and he figured out that the knocking sound I was hearing was due to the plastic cowl on the sunroof being loose and could be fixed easily.I left the car with him at noon that day with the agreement that that cowl would be fixed, two rear tires and badly worn radiator hose replaced and that he would look the car over carefully.I called the next morning and asked Ricky about what he had found .He replied they hadn’t gotten to my car yetI then clearly stated I planned on going on a road trip over the weekend and wanted to have the car ready by the end of the day on Friday ( seems reasonable, right ...after having waited 6 days to get my car in the garage? )After not hearing anything from him I called back at 3:30 Friday and was told they had completed their assessment of the car and that I definitely needed new belts as well as exhaust system work. Also that the cowl has not been fixed “ because my special mechanic who does those repairs had to take off.”He did not do anything to the car except replace the radiator hose and remove the plastic cowl and throw it in the trunk.Asked why he didn’t put new tires on the back as agreed he said “ I always like to go over the estimate with the customer before I do anything.”THIS is how he treats NEW Customers?!?I paid the 136$ for the safety check and radiator hose replacement and left .... never again

I had an issue with my Dodge that was in the internal engine. They were not able to fix it but they went out of their way to find me someone who would and they called to check the warranty with the dealership to see if it was covered. Very friendly and very professional staff!

They wouldnt replace my spark plugs because they wanted to run a full diagnostic on the car see if anything else was wrong and then give a quote. Then they said they wouldnt use the premium plugs I bought from advanced auto because they only used their brand and their brand were the lower quality ones. Will never go back.
