I had been here for an inspection a few years ago and had been satisfied, so I decided to go back for an oil change. However, I couldn’t get in contact with anyone from the shop. I called five times over two days, and even came by the shop at 8:30 on a Tuesday (it was locked up tight). They do good work here, but it is much too hard to get an appointment or even drop in.

Great people - Frank and Farah were very nice to me when I went in for my new tires, they explained my options and put me in new wheels same day. I am not exactly car savvy and they fixed me right up. Ever since i have been a huge fan.

Really wanted to support small business over Pepboys. I was told to show up at 8 but I waited 45 minutes and they never opened. Another customer told me this was the same case the day before. Very frustrating that service was so unorganized and unprofessional. I really wanted to make this my neighborhood car mechanic but I don’t have faith in them to try again in the future

From experience a good place for sure for oil change and fluids etc. Never tried dropping off for anything major. However, I did drop off for AC problems (5 minutes of blowing cold then goes hot) and asked for a dye test of system for leaks but the mechanic ended up opting not to do that test or even check the refrigerant pressure or even look under the hood at the compressor - he believed the compressor was shot because the AC was running cold for him when he drove it for five minutes and let it run idle in his shop for awhile. I told him it only runs for 5 minutes on hot days (It was 60 degrees that day) and he shrugged it off still as compressor problem that would cost 900 dollars to fix. He may be right but it would have been nice to get a leak / dye test anyway to rule it out but instead they opted not to and charged me 80 dollars for the 5 minute drive / idling car time. By the way, I checked out the cost of a new compressor part for my car and the 900 cost (part plus labor) seems about right... too expensive for me but sounds about right. No AC for me this summer I guess. Anyway, probably a good shop just do not bring your car in for Air Condition problems.Update: thanks for your response. fair enough regarding your experience and diagnosis. the amount I mentioned in my review was only for the AC check though. the oil change with fluid check was another 35 dollars or so though. But you did give a cash discount though, making it an even hundred if paid in cash.. so thanks for that.

Really solid auto shop. I was able to request an oil change online and received a call the next day confirming my requested time. Getting my oil change was a pretty straight forward process. Even though Frank noticed that my filters werent the cleanest in the world, he wasnt pushy about me needing to change them immediately. They finished the job way before I had asked for it to be ready, which was a plus! Ill definitely be coming back for any work I need done in the future.

I found a great hidden shop down in South Philly today for tires and state inspection. Frank the owner was so kind to help me with my flat also got me four new tires at a very reasonable price and had me back on my way . I just want to say thank you very much I really appreciate the hard work you put in to get me out of your shop so quickly for me to continue my day .

Expensive, overcharged by 3x for a brake replacement, and re-inspection cost as much as the inspection even though the guy on the phone said it was free within 30 days

I have taken my car to Mina Motors multiple times for everything from an inspection to mechanical issues and even some body work. Theyre always respectful and honest, and they do great work. During a recent inspection, they even gave me a heads up that I would need my struts done in the future, but didnt try to sell me on it before it was actually needed. Its great finding a mechanic you can rely on.

I went here for an inspection because it was easier logistically for my wife than the mechanic that I usually take it to, as I was injured and couldn’t drive. I found these guys to be both dishonest and very rude. When I got a call about the status of my vehicle, the guy told me five different things that needed to be repaired to pass inspection, including two (windshield wipers and horn) that he said “weren’t good enough,” both of which were on the vehicle when I bought it four years ago, worked the same, and had passed inspection every year since. I actually looked up the Vehicle Equipment and Inspection Regulations online, which is PennDOT’s published criteria for mechanics to inspect vehicles. The wipers section didn’t have anything about the wipers “not being good enough,” only that there had to be two, they had to actually move, etc. When I confronted him about this, he backed down and said he wouldn’t flunk my car if I didn’t replace the blades after all. He clearly just wanted to charge me for more parts and labor. He said two other thing needed to be fixed (gaskets on my front sway bars and my flex pipe), quoting them at two for $395 each, and $100-something, respectively. I thought these prices sounded ridiculous, so I looked them up online and they were a fraction of the price that he quoted. I told him that I didn’t want the inspection sticker from him anymore and that I was going to take my car somewhere else, and he got irritable and ended up getting in a verbal fight with my wife when she picked up the car.I ended up taking my car to my normal mechanic after all of this, who replaced the sway bar parts, fixed my flex pipe instead, changed my oil, and did my inspection, all for $219 total--about 1/5 of what he wanted to charge me with all of his overpriced parts. I can’t speak to the work they do, but I can tell you theyre going to try to replace a bunch of things, and you’re going to pay several times what you should be paying to get anything done there.

Simply the best. My car sounded awful very suddently and they took it right in and found out it was a stuck caliper. They were so nice and friendly - one of the guys was headed to lunch and he offered to pick me up something while I was waiting. Very attentive and didnt try to mansplain to me - spoke with me about the issue and the safety involved with brakes and brake issues. Really liked them. Would certainly go back.

2nd time coming here in the past year. First time it was to get an inspection, and everything went well from scheduling the appointment to getting my car back. This time it was a check engine light, and the whole staff was friendly and informative. They try to help you like a neighbor not treat you like another customer.

Great customer service! Tired of being scammed over and over again at the VW dealer to pay unnecessary prices for unnecessary parts, I went to Mina Motors to get my tire looked at. The owners son was straight forward and kind. When I thought I had a donut, he informed me I had a full spare, and rather than take advantage of my ignorance he filled all my tires with air and sent me on my way to New Jersey after graciously offering to check my flat (that I had taken off the day before) for a leak. I am definitely returning for all my auto needs.

I never write reviews but i just have to for this - headed to the Kimmel Center on Thursday and on the way my front tire starting feeling weird and my tire pressure light was on - my passenger found Mina Motors and I went straight there - we had early reservations at Valanni - I went into Mina Motors expecting that as out of towners we were going to be charged an arm and a leg....Boy was I wrong. Farah greeted us at the counter and I told her my dilemma - she made sure my car went straight back to the shop. Withing minutes they had found the issue - a tpms sensor had broken and was flopping around. They replaced the sensor and reset and my car was good to go - very very reasonable on price and so fast we didnt even miss our dinner reservation. Great service and really friendly - had to give a big thumbs up!

Terrible experience. I brought my car here last yr for the state inspection, they called me saying that the license plate light was out wanted to charge me $55 to fix it....for a light that costs less than $5. I eventually talked them down to $30. They took advantage that if I said no and did it myself I would have to pay for the another inspection. Avoid this place, terrible business practice

COMPLETE FRAUD. The owners son charged me for services that were not perfromed. Since I am a mechanic I brought this to his attention. When I asked to see documentation he was verbally abusive and threaten to fight me. I am an Iraq Veteran and was even more concerned when the PA State Emission team said that there was nothing they could do. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THEY ARE SCAM Artists.
