Nothing like the feeling of starting your morning with a flat tire before starting the work day. Fortunately, I had a tire pump to pump some air into the tire before making my trip to Mid City. When I arrived, they were able to patch up my flat in 20 mins! Exceptional service, good price, and very professional. Would highly recommend!

First time customer. They had their chance to impress me and failed miserably. Service was great initially. I visited the shop and had 4 new tires put on my truck. I made it less than 5 blocks from the shop before the front driver tire fell completely off the truck, leaving it incapacitated in the middle of a south Philly street. I called the shop, they sent someone right away. They put the tire back on the truck, and I got it back to the shop to check things out. After another short stay at the shop they said everything was good to go. The only compensation I was offered was a couple free oil changes, however I declined because the shop is not local to my house. I also do not trust them to perform an oil change at this point, if I have no way to verify it was actually done. I received little to no apology, and will not return. I spent over 800$ on tires. I expect them to be installed correctly. I can’t recommend this business due to the critical nature of this error, and for the minimal effort to rectify their vital mistake.

I went to Mid City for most of my automotive needs for many years, before the owner and the long-time manager both passed away. Now the next generation has taken over. Suddenly, if I went in to get a tire plugged, I needed four new tires according to them. Last Fall I went there for inspection. I was given the pitch about needing brakes. According to them I passed by 1 millimeter. I said that they sounded and felt fine and that a pass was a pass.Since then, I have moved. This week I went to a new mechanic for an oil change, and asked them to check my brakes. They asked why so I explained that while they still felt and sounded fine, that I was told three months and 3000+ miles ago that my brakes barely passed. Well, miraculously, my brake pads have actually grown. I was told that I still had substantially more pad than I was lead to believe I had last year. With all the cars out there that will inevitably always need something, it shouldn’t ever be necessary to try to sell people services they do not actually need. Buyer beware here.

I first went to Mid City for my inspection over the summer, and Im so glad I did. Since then theyve been helpful, honest, and professional in fixing the few one-off issues my car has had. Everyone there is friendly and takes the time to explain things in detail/answer my questions. I feel confident putting my car in their hands.

Mid City Tire & Auto is family-owned and operated business is known for its swift, efficient, and courteous service. My first impression is they have a clean and organized shop. I went in to get my flat tire patched. After 45 mins of waiting (gets busy pretty quickly), they were able to resolve my issue. I really enjoy the professionalize and empathy. There are a few things I think the business needs improvement. 1) consider having people make appointment. 2) List your prices on your website for search engines to crawl (increases visibly on the web) and 3) have a reward/point system. Overall, I recommend their services to my friends and family.

My second time there. Great service and quick. Will use for all my tire needs and probably regular service too. Not easy to find good people these days. So when I do i stick with them. Especially customer service which is most important to me. Thanks mid city.

I have been taking my cars to Mid-City for almost ten years now. They are faster and more reliable than any other car repair or dealership I have dealt with. Mid City Tire was great in being able to fit me in very last minute and evaluate my flat tire. I knew I needed all new tires but had just put it off. Mid City got me in very last minute toward the end of the day and were able to install all new tires. They were really great, would absolutely recommend them.

No one wears masks. Not even when mask wearing is requested by customer before employees enter customer’s car. Request is blatantly ignored. Employees sit outside and continue to smoke cigarettes. When asked why employees aren’t wearing masks, it is met with a delusional, selfish response, “ it is our preference to not wear them.” As if maintaining public safety should be a preference.

Mid City is great. The owner is fair and a straight shooter and his team of mechanics is very good. I go to them for all my tire stuff and had them do pad / rotor replacements good job and cheaper than dealer. My GF uses them for her old Saab and they take good care of it. Would have given them 4 stars cause they are so damn busy sometimes it is hard to get in but i like them too much.

Was looking for a new place to have my car worked on, and definitely found it. I only came in for a minor issue and the staff were as welcoming as they were efficient. They fixed a problem the last place said they couldn’t fix and the price was reasonable. I have no complaints.

I have been taking my cars (1999 Lexus ES300 & 2013 Lexus CT200h) for a few years. Mid City performs whatever is needed (inspections, general maintenance and any other issues that come up) I have been very satisfied and will continue to bring my car to Mid City in the future.

Very quick and painless tire patching for $35 w/out reservation. After a not-great experience with an auto place around the corner (PINNACLE AUTO) charging me $130 for a simple oil change, this was nice.

The staff here are so friendly and honest! The got me out of another jam in an efficient and courteous way. In the past, they told me what I needed and how long I could wait to have done so I could budget. Love them! And my kid loved the garage dogs!

I just needed a state inspection. They were very friendly and willing to work with my scheduling issue. They gave me a heads up on an old battery and wiper blades but no pressure. I do most of my own maintenance but Ill be back if I have something I cant do myself.

Awesome work. Visiting from out of town, got a flat and needed it fixed. Mid City was very easy to find. They got us in quickly (on a Saturday!) and had the tire done in no time even though they were packed. All staff were very friendly, recommending places to eat locally and asking if wed enjoyed our visit. Though I dont wish for another tire issue, if you are visiting or live near Philly I would highly recommended Mid City Tire.

They were so nice and fast. They gave me a great deal on two tires. They also told me about a great donut/coffee shop walking distance away. When I got back, my car was ready to go.

Good spot to get an oil change. I usually drop my car off at lunch and just pick it up on the way home from work. They are friendly and the prices seem good.

No one is wearing masks or distancing, and after they brought my car back for a tire change they refused me service for calling them out on their lack of safety precautions and IMMEDIATELY after I left my tire lights went onNot sure what they did to my car but Im ultimately glad they declined service since they clearly did something to my tires to retaliate

This shop was so convenient and the staff was so nice. I called to ask about a head and tail light fix and they encouraged me to come when convenient, quoted me a reasonable price under 60 and they would be quick. I came a half hour before they close and they evaluated the car as soon as I drove up. Turned out my headlight needs to be ordered/dealt with by the dealer but they fixed my tail light with no charge in under 5 mins. I would bring my car back here in a second and trust their evaluation.

I called on a Friday afternoon asking if they had any openings for inspections on Saturday, but the owner said they didn’t. After talking to him for a while, he realized that I was a teacher and said he would fit me in no problem. So helpful and very much appreciated!

I drove in with a flat. They told me $35 for a patch then ignored me. I waited and drove off when they took someone in before me. I was just sitting there. No one bothered to help at all. I drove slowly to Pep Boys and they gave me a patch for $18 with no wait.

I use to trust this place about 5-6 years back when I lived in the neighborhood. More recently in the past year Ive taken 2 cars to mid city each time with a poor experience. The first time was to patch a hole from a nail in my tire. The shop patched the hole but scratched my rim mounting the tire on my brand new car. Next visit was to mount and balance 4 new tires I purchased online. After installation I noticed a significant vibration in the steering wheel on the highway that did not exist prior to installation. I took vehicle back to mid city, front desk said weight must have fell off rim and rebalanced all four tires. Took the car on highway right after rebalance, still shaking/vibration in steering column. Finally took car to dealership and mechanic said all four tires were not balanced correctly. Dealership remounted and balanced all tires and finally car performs like new again. Will not be going back to mid city again.

Unfortunately staff are not wearing masks during the pandemic so I would not go here for the time being!

Honestly, the best tire and auto place Ive visited in Philadelphia. The place is always busy, but it is obvious why. I actually had someone recommend me this place at the local watering hole and I was bit hesitant to visit. But after a couple spins around the block to get a spot in their service area, it was totally worth it. I had a puncture repaired in half an hour for about as many bucks. Totally recommend.

Went in around 8:30 am with a flat tire, left about 15 minutes later with a repaired tire. I didnt call ahead out anything. I was anticipating spending all morning there but I was done almost as soon as I got there. I would definitely recommend this place. Fast, friendly, quick, service.

Mid City Tire came highly recommended from a close friend who has used them for years. I needed a flat repaired and decided to check them out. In less than 30 minutes and for less than 30 bucks I had my flat repaired and was on my way home. Really friendly service, very trustworthy crew. They also gave me a quote on a window issue I was having but gave me a realistic timeframe for when Id need to get it repaired.

Picked this place on the amount of positive feedback ...called the night before to have my car serviced, they were very pleasant and was told to have the car brought in to work on any issues. Went today and the gentleman behind the counter said he didnt have anyone to look at it today or tomorrow in a very rude and condescending manner . I was so confused on how they were accommodating on the phone to feel like Im getting kicked out the establishment at 9am. I made plans around this timeframe and they were not concerned or helpful in any bit. Where is the disconnect?Very disgusted with the customer service!

Got a flat coming into the city, so I stopped by thinking Id have to leave my car on a busy Saturday. Nope, 15 minutes later and Im back on the road with a patched tire. These guys are absolute life savers.

I dropped my car inspected at this place for annual inspection. After I picked up my car, I found a strong cigarette smell inside and the odometer shoed 4 more miles since the drop-off. The manager insisted nobody smoked in my car and the smell came from the shop. I am not a first timer to a car shop nor I am stupid! Will never come back.

$80+ for an oil change- insane.No wonder they wont post it on the website, you have to give them all of your contact information to get a quote - and a truckload of spammy emails and mailers, Im sure.Took my car in for yearly inspection and they told me it needed $4500 worth of work- spoiler: it didntTried to charge me for emissions testing despite mentioning moments earlier that they didnt even do the emissions test because they wanted my agreement on the $4500 of autowork first- which was, again, largely unnecessary and overpriced.The only way these prices are fair is if you have more money than sense.

I had to come back and change my review from 5 stars after learning that the break job they told me I needed was unnecessary. A trusted family mechanic (who was too far to do the work at the time) told me there was no chance I needed the $450 dollar job done only 4 months after he had inspected my breaks, and it was likely a simple leak that should have cost less than $100.Worst yet, my break light began to come on and off again a few days ago, about the same amount of expected time has passed since I last filled the fluid tank (when the car was repaired by mid city) that had been passing before the tank would get low enough to signal. This suggests its the SAME LEAK! Of course I cant know for sure...I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with Mid City Auto, as I had 2 previous experiences that were very positive and lead me to believe I found a trustworthy mechanic in the area.Needless to say, I will no longer be returning for future car work, and no longer feel that I can suggest their services to friends.To Mid City: If you are under the impression that I have miss understood the reasoning for your diagnosis, I would love to hear an explanation. I sincerely hope thats the case, but have been told by a good mechanic who I know better and therefore trust more that to his understanding, there was no reason Id need the break job I was charged for.
