This review is long overdue. Probably about ten years ago, I was leaving work on a summer Friday evening with a goal of getting to the shore. I noticed a nail in my tire and knew there was no way I was going anywhere far. I drove down Cottman Ave hoping I had a shot to get a tire plug at a large chain provider. Out of the corner of my eye, I see this small mechanic shop and a guy closing up. I quickly stop and ask for service. The owner was literally closing up for the day, a Friday!! He stopped everything to help me out. I have never forgotten this exemplary customer service and have been returning ever since even though I no longer work in NE philly! Steve, his brother and everything great about this quality business is hard to find these days.

It was my first time going to this location and the process was smooth. Since I arrived at the location, I was greeted by Ken (Hopefully I remember his name correctly). He was professional and honest over all the interaction. After explaining the issue, the car was ready in 4 hours, which makes it super fast in comparison to other locations (considering I went as a walk-in). The price and issue with the car were what I was anticipating.For any other issues with my vehicle this would be the first location I would go to.

Called to get an estimate on getting my car brake line fixed before making the trip from Maryland to Philly. I called probably like 10x before finally getting someone to answer. I purchased a 04 Yukon XL that needs brakes possibly brake lines. Im a dealer and i am quite knowledgeable when it comes to these cars. common issues are typically brake lines or brakes. i probably owned over a dozen and i get quoted always around $400 - $600 elsewhere. When i called C&G the gentleman quoted me from $1400 - $2000 like are you serious. either im getting played here or you guys are ripping your loyal customers off. and after giving me a quote i stated how it never runs me that much before and before i could even finnish the gentleman said I cant help you and then just hung up. If this is how you guys run business then good luck. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER TAKE MY CAR TO C&G AUTO REPAIR. The reason i decided to take a chance was because it was closer but man forget this. I strongly advise people not to go there. you are getting played. Please do your research before taking your car and spending your hard earned money.

Called and asked them about an engine issue, after their website says, We do everything . Engine repair is on the site and included in everything! Guy picked up, got nasty about my simple question before hanging up on me! I hope this review helps anybody who looks for help and Ill assume their customer service speaks of their work! I brought my old Crown Vic in for the first time with a steering issue. My technician Aaron figured it out, explained it thoroughly, and got it done fairly quickly at a reasonable price. When I went to pick up the car I got to meet the owner Ken, seems like a great guy and his family has worked on cars in the area since before I was born. I had good vibes throughout my whole interaction with C & G, no games or BS its definitely my new go to place.

After getting the run around and ripped off at the Ford dealer and still in need of repairs, I decided to with someone local, C&G was referred to me, they had great reviews and right around the corner. I got a good vibe the minute I walked in and talked with Steve. An older gentleman came in, a little flustered about his engine light being on. Steve pardoned himself from our conversation to address the mans issue, offered him a coffee, asked him to sit down and told him not to worry, gonna take a look at it now. 10 minutes or so later, Steve comes in, hands the man his keys and says “taken care of”. The older gentleman looked a little perplexed, asked what was wrong. Just a tire light. “What do I owe you”? “Nothing at all” Steve said. A big smile and thank you from the old fella. Yep, I’m sold! Now, for me, I needed an ECM after C&G diagnosed my vehicle, told them to put it in. Was a little hard to come by, was kept informed every step of the way. A lot of effort was put forth by C&G to find one and make it as affordable as they could .C&G came through for me big time! Professional, honest and care they care about their customers. I am beyond sold with these guys. They are indeed my “go to” guys!Thank you C&G!

I was stuck with a weird starting problem, wanted to avoid the dealer as best I could and get a permanent mechanic on top of it. I found my mechanic, these guys could’ve killed me, but it actually wasn’t bad at all. I suggest these guys to anyone I know from here on out.

Took extra time to diagnose my car issues when other shops would have just sent me on my way with a defective car. Spent extra hours on the repair and did not over charge me for hours worked. 100% recommend for anything you need on your vehicle.

Been here 3 different times with 3 different cars in last 2 months. My car, my dads car and my nieces car. My dad passed away 5 years ago but we keep his 1982 Cadillac running to drive our elderly mom around in for food shopping and doctor appointments. My dads car needed a part that they dont make anymore and these guys found a way to fix broken part for minimal money. My dad went to these guys for over 20 years and now I know why. And last year when I was looking for a car for my son I had them look at it first, and they charged very minimal to do it. Fair and honest guys is all I have to say.

I needed my inspection done quickly today and I google places near me, seen the reviews figure I check them out, called them up explain what I needed done and next thing you know a hour later I was in the office waiting for my car to be done which didn’t take long at all. Handles things quickly, great pricing and seem like good people. I would definitely be going back there for any needs for my car!

On 11/20/19 I brought my car in for front end noise. Several hours later I received a call that no issues was found with the car. Upon picking my car up the guys were great and didn’t charge me for there service. Maybe it was all in my head but they took there time to check my vehicle throughly. They are my go to shop and always honest and fair prices.

This place is amazing, I brought a used 2012 Chevy Malibu had it for less then a month it stopped running, had a warranty on it so I took it back to the dealership where I brought it from, the mechanic at the dealership didn’t know wht was wrong with my car.They had my car sitting for a whole month, very frustrating, I towed my car to C&G Repair and Wht a blessing!!! I have been using C & G for years and the reason I do is because they are very, very honest and do great work. They do not take advantage of anyone even if they know very little about cars. They also work with us and tell me when it is alright to purchase used parts and when it is best to go with new parts. Work has always been done on time and they call us with an estimate before starting work. Last thing they do which great, is they prioritize work for me. They tell me what must be done immediately and what can wait so we do not need to pay for everything at once.

Paid attention to my vehicles specific mechanical specifications, and very courteous.

Extremely knowledgeable staff, quality service, great reminders about maintenance and pre-planning purchases / services that will need to get done. Not pushy about frivolous services and dont overcharge for little things. Been going here ever since i owned a car, and my dad even still takes all his cars here too. I have been taking my cars to C&G for nearly 30 years. I love that it is a family owned business. They are honest, knowledgeable and professional. I have never had any unnecessary repair work done.

Went here for the first time to have my A.C. looked at . (This is where my issue happens to be with the shop. ) i dropped it off. Was told they would look at it . Received a call and price quote of $590. I thought that was high. I called Johns auto and gave them a description of the exact parts and labor C&G quoted me on and the quote came in at $342 installed ( air blower and resistor ). Called C&G and they explained there wasnt much movement in price ( $25) so I said Id come get it . I was told $102 that I owed. for what ? They reply diagnostic charge . Let me be clear....i was NEVER told there would be a charge to look at the air conditioner . In fairness ...i never asked if there would be a charge either. HOWEVER, I strongly feel it was the shops responsibility to communicate that regardless of whether I had the work done or not...there would be a charge for looking at it ...smh. THERE ARE MANY SHOPS OUT THERE WHO WILL DO A FREE ESTIMATE...THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM... ai Left $102 less in my pocket and still the same problem I walked in with. I had no choice but to go to the cheaper shop....kinda wishing I did that in the 1st place. Lesson learned. Dont assume its a free estimate ....BUT THIS SHIP NEEDS TO NOT LEAD CUSTOMER ON EITHER INTO THINKING THERE WONT BE A CHARGE TO LOOK AT IT .

When you bring your car in, they will not only diagnose the problem and give you a recommendation but they will also give you a walkthrough of the issue and educate you so that you are fully informed to make the best decision as a customer.A few months ago, my work office moved far away from the north east, so I considered using a local Bucks county mechanic for routine oil changes etc.. He was highly rated, but much more expensive, and when I asked him to troubleshoot a larger issue I brought my car back to C&G and they were able to give me the same solution at a much better price.Steve, Kenny and Aaron truly go above and beyond for their customers and I could not recommend them more!
