These guys are THE worst mechanics ever. I just had them do an axle replacement and shocks/strut work. First, they were quite literally 4x as expensive as my local mechanic. (Unfortunately my usual mechanic was away on vacation and this repair couldn’t wait so I went to Pep Boys). Price aside, I then find out that Pep Boys didn’t even do the repair correctly. I had to take the car to my usual mechanic for a separate issue and he said the springs were installed wrong for the axle repair. So in addition to being MUCH more expensive, the service itself was horrible and wound up costing me even more to fix what they were supposed to fix in the first place. I am never ever ever going back there even if they’re the last mechanic on the planet. Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

Port Richmond store. Looked on the website for parts. Didnt see anything about a store renovation or closings. Went there for much needed stabilizer Link bushings only. Store wasnt selling any parts because of a complete store reset. Wasted trip. Went to Columbus Blvd store at 4:00 pm because website says open until 8:00 pm. Store was closed ! WHY !!!!! ANOTHER WASTED TRIP !!!!! Pep Boys really sucks ! Especially for those waiting for their vehicle to be serviced ! Poor service from beginning to end. They need a complete reset for that department or for a new company to completely take over with an all new staff. Worst company ever ! 🤮💩🤡🤡🤡These should be the new faces of Manny, Moe and Jack ! 🤬😠

They are understaffed which leads to long times for what you need but the service was great, helpful and super nice. Dropped a flat tire off at 8:30 am and wasn’t ready until 6. Said it would be done by 12, which shows the lack of staff. They do have a good selection of parts like windshield wipes, oils and fluids. Lots of parking out front and right off Columbus blvd so not hard to get too.

I TRIED to give this location one more try to redeem themselves. I took my company Vehicle in months ago for a windshield wiper motor. 1 month later I finally get the truck back. Ive taken my personal vehicle here multiple times, and each time its been nothing but a hassle. Took it to a different location and had it fixed immediately. My wife dropped our car off for a tire repair. The tread on the tire is in excellent condition. My wife told them fix just the tire, I need it by 1800 tonight. They have both of our numbers but called my phone 1 time at 1100. When I finally called back, they said they tried multiple times to contact us. They then read a laundry list of things they found wrong, and that the tire was unreapairable. They did nothing with the tire, and said all techs have left so we cant do it now. Told my wife she could pick it up until 1900, she got there all gates were down. She had to go through service bays and tell them to give us our car. Well go to another location, that has always told us the truth and NEVER tried to add things on, just to make money. Pep boys needs to audit this location and fire all involved in the scams they try to pull.

Go literally anywhere else. They have terrible customer service. I dropped my car off for an appointment made online for them to evaluate my AC problem. They said they would call me the next morning with an update. I had to follow up several times and two days later they told me they dont keep up with online appointments and couldnt give any time frame for when they would look at my car. They were extremely rude over the phone. Highly recommend going anywhere else unless you dont mind giving you car up for an indefinite amount of time.

I wish I could give them no stars but I came in to get a flat tired fixed and one of the workers told me that I needed to get a new tire or leave because hes not going to work on it in the condition it was in so I took the tire elsewhere. When I went to another tire shop they told me that the tire was perfectly fine and fixed the flat without any hassle.

Nothing but terrible customer service at this pep boys location. First time I made an online appointment, to get there and to be told that they dont use that you have to call. Come back to pick up my vehicle and they lost my keys, technician left them in another vehicle and luckily found them before that vehicle left the lot. Now today I give them another chance, call and ask about having a screw removed from a tire and patched on my company vehicle. Guy says no problem, bring it down and I tell him Ill be down in an hour or two. Get down there and am told they want me to leave it and they will try to get to it today, but might have to leave it overnight..... to patch a tire that takes 5 mins!! Why not tell me that on the phone before I waste my time driving down there. Also, there is currently a mask mandate in Philadelphia, nobody at the service center was masked, completely unprofessional operation. Another customer waiting was also complaining about similar problems with this place before. Not sure how they stay in business!

I’d put a 0 star review if I could, people there are nothing but a scam that tries to rip money off of you. Went for a simple “tire change” and it took them 4 hours to finish after I made an appointment ahead of time. Tells me that I also had a nail on my right rear tire and would have to change the tire also(this was a new tire I changed at their place 3 weeks ago) when I checked there was no such thing and then change their report stating it was a “bubble”. Having a simple nail would only require a tire repair especially on a new tire, instead they try to rip me off by telling me I need a new tire, a alignment check, and would not let me not pay for alignment check. I asked them what exactly was wrong with my tires and they could not give me a straight forward answer. Unprofessional employees/answers, dishonest pricing.

I have been a customer here for 19 years. I go there for oil changes, regular maintenance, state inspections, etc. NO MORE! This week I took my car in for the state inspection on Tues. at 12pm and was told to leave it all day. I was told it would be ready to pick up after 5pm. AT 6:15, I called and was told - oh no! It would not be done until sometime tomorrow, Wed. At that time I was told that inspections are not finished on the same day. It is 2 days to get an inspection that takes 1 hr. I called on Wed. morning and was told it would not be done until later in the day. FINALLY, I was able to retrieve my car at 4:20pm on Wed. This is essentially 2 full days to do an inspection. It passed inspection with nothing needing to be fixed. They DID NOT change the engine air filter that I asked them to do when I left my car there.If they do not have enough help to do the work, customers should not be inconvenienced like this. Just refuse to take the car and schedule another day! This is completely inexcusable!Last year they never replaced the engine cover on my Lexus after a simple oil change. That oil change took an extraordinarily long time because the mechanic had a problem doing it. NO MORE. Im done with Pep Boys. Buyer beware!

This place is criminal. The front desk person is friendly so it’s deceiving in that it falsely assures you that they are good people. I made the mistake of taking my car here for a flat tire because my usual shop was closed on Sunday. I figured how difficult could it be patch a tire with a nail in it? How mistaken was I..I dropped my car off at 9am and they took 32 hours to try to upsell me on a new tire saying mine was irreparable due to a deficient side wall (side wall!?). I doubt they even properly inspected the tire. Before they could give me a quote on a new tire I immediately took my car back and took it to my trusted shop to get my tire repaired without any issues and without ANY evidence of side wall damage.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PEPBOYS - there are other locations in the city, so AVOID THIS ONE! Ive had a terrible experience over the last few weeks with this PepBoys, please see below:1. I took my car in to have its tires replaced on a Friday, and was told that the car would be ready that Sunday. Sunday rolled around and we were told very rudely that the car would not be ready until Monday. Monday rolled around, and the car was not ready. We did not receive the car until Wednesday. I understand that there is a queue, and that they only have a certain number of workers, but their blatant dishonesty and attitude did not sit well with me.2. Once the tires were replaced, we came back 48 hours later because there was a puncture in the tire. We explained to them that we needed a cheap replacement tire, just to get us through the next few weeks. The person at the desk told us that the cheapest tire they had was $97 - which was a LIE. I told them that they recently replaced the punctured tire with a $70 tire, and therefore I knew that they had a cheaper tire available. The person then realized that we knew what we were talking about and gave us a cheaper tire - they are truly just trying to make $.I understand that there is a labor shortage, but lying, being rude, and price gauging is not the way to run a business.

Do NOT bring your vehicle here for repairs unless you want to be charged a bunch of money, not have a car for 3 weeks, and still have the engine light come on after taking it in for repairs multiple times.Btw: Ive filed a complaint with corporate and while they have updated my file, no one has bothered to call me back and tell me anything and they wont answer the phone when I try to get an update. The worst service and location I’ve ever been to. Made an appointment for a simple oil change, was told to go somewhere else because they still had appointments piled up from the day before. You’d think if they couldn’t accommodate appointments that they wouldn’t have them available on the site then but oh well. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

DO NOT take your car here. They told me it would be about an hour to change a tire on the car that had a nail it it. Two hours later they tell me it’ll be at least another hour. Ended up taking FIVE HOURS!!!! They kept using the excuse their mechanics are overworked which I empathize with completely on a hot day. However DONT LIE TO PEOPLE be honest and respect that people have families and jobs to get to. No one wants to sit around all day and wait for hours but it’s the COMPLETE LACK OF RESPECT for me - hire more people if you’re short staffed and don’t lie on how long it’s gonna be because you want the money. And now after reading all the horrible reviews I know the blame game is typical m.o. for these liars. So disgusted I will never go to a pep boys again in my life.

Took my car there to get fixed and checked out because it wasn’t working and wouldn’t accelerate. They ran test and was suppose to do a oil change! Never did the oil change said nothing wrong with my car and the car broke down right after I pulled out of the parking lot! Don’t go here a bunch of liars and make you spend money for no reason

My Audi broke down and was towed here on a Sunday night. A technician called me by 8:30 AM Monday morning to discuss diagnosing the problem. They called me back by noon and recommended I take my car to a local Audi dealer to further identify an electronic issue. I appreciate that they didnt waste my time or money. I believe my tech was named Jian. Thanks and I really appreciate your kindness.

!!DO NOT!! take you car/vehicle to this location for repair under any circumstances. Reps will deceive you about repair times especially for. state inspections. Also emissions inspections are not able to be done at this site. They will drive your car to another site and that only if the techs decide to do any inspection work at all. Similar to what Reagan said to Gorbachev, I implore Pep boys Corporate bring down this Pep boys store, fire the employees, close it, and demolish it.

Took my car in for 1:00 inspection; at 3:00 I realized they hadnt even moved my car. They only had one guy doing inspections and was really behind. Nobody bothered to come to the waiting room to let me know they were behind. 25 hours later, Im finally getting my car back. Just for an inspection.

My engine started misfiring with the check engine light flashing while I was in South Philly but thankfully I knew Pep Boys was nearby. The total time for diagnostics and repair took longer than expected but they seemed busy when I arrived so Im glad they could fit me in last minute. The service representative kept me updated and was honest about what should be repaired now and what can be replaced at another time.

I been going to this location ever since I starting purchasing a vehicle.Buyer beware!Re: 1000 Columbus Blvd Philadelphia Pa 19148I thought you should be aware of your corporate stores poor performance!I brought my vehicle twice to Pep Boys for a rear driver side suspension clanking noise when hitting bumps. I had an early appointment. I was told the vehicle would be needed all day. Never have I had to wait all day (until 5 pm) especially with an appointment early in the morning at opening.Both times head mechanics could not diagnosis a problem with the suspension. Even after taking a test drive with one mechanic and hearing the noise.I had no choice but to take the vehicle to the dealership and within one hour diagnosed the problem, had me a look at the current alignment, which was 3 degrees off, gave me a cost to repair and a reapir time.I was given a loaner by the dealership because my vehicle was unsafe to drive. The parts needed to be ordered. Upper control arm, left lateral arm and a new dampener/shock.Not only that but the first time they parked my vehicle in a handicap parking spot. Ticket tow area?The second time I also ordered a new tire and during the install my rim was scratched, and left with plenty of tire lube and never wiped off. Unacceptable!Last year, I had an oil change service and they did not tighten the nut, the next day I drove my car to my job in King of Prussia and while I was at work the oil leaked out and I had to have my car towed back to Philly for them to service the vehicle. I was reimbursed however these issues are mounting up at this location and definitely needs to be overseen by someone in the corporation.I recently traded in my vehicle, and the Carfax indicated the last time my vehicle was serviced they recorded my mileage 30,000 miles less than what it was supposed to be.Be warned, this location is bad news. Sorry if you work there,. But, I tried to make Corporate aware of these things directly and got no where.

By far the worst experience I have ever encountered with a major brand/chain company. While booking an appointment I was told the 8:00am slot of a state inspection meant that my vehicle was the first apt of the day. During drop off I was ensured that vehicle would be ready for pick up no later than 5:00pm.After repeatedly attempting to call the store for an update with no success, I traveled down to the store at 6:00pm and was told that they had not yet been able to do the inspection. Additionally I was informed that THEY DO NOT HONOR THE TIME OF YOUR APPOINTMENT and the technicians choose what order/cars they want.The complete disregard for customer service, communication, and repeated lying to a customer is something I have never encountered.Take your vehicles anywhere else but here!

0 stars* STAY AWAY from this location! My 1st time ever writing a negative google review. A simple inspection and 1 tire change took 6.5 days, they are not honest about these horrific lead times. (This is for the pepboys regional manager to review- My company is a big customer for ARI fleet), my feedback is going to be passed on to them).I think everyone is sympathetic and understanding that during Covid it’s been challenging to get people to work... The conduct and business practice of this location is highly unethical, if you look at the last 10 reviews recently, everyone has the same issue.... If the regional manager supervising this location is unable to address, he/she needs to replaced ASAP, I’ll personally never use PepBoys again, branding is important and once lost... you don’t get it back.1. Assistant manager Patrick - I thought he was extremely dishonest in providing expectations on service lead times to customers... I was told 1 day wait, this turned into 6.5 days with 0 updates, no email response/, my emails were ignored, the employees don’t do a good job answering the phone either. The lack of communication non existent, also the customer service skills are non existent, Patrick was almost shocked that I was a dissatisfied customer and gave me attitude/sass.... I was told every day my Car would be ready..... and I had to follow up multiple times a day, an absolute nightmare.2. While I was waiting in line, another customer came in an asked for keys to be returned, they waited 7 days and gave up, picked up the car to go somewhere else .... this elderly lady was just getting a simple inspection, a job that takes 1 hour. 7 days she waited and ended to having to go somewhere else, I watched the customer service interact with her, it was deer in headlights, no idea what was going on, 0 professionalism.If you can’t get people to work, that’s understandable... why is this location continuously taking in additional jobs creating this massive que and not providing realistic wait times, give customers the Choice, you can’t hold peoples cars for ransom.Obviously the regional sales manager knows the state of this location, if they are unable to get staff to report accurate lead times, address customers with reasonable communication/professionalism, the RM needs to be replaced ASAP.

If I could take stars away, I would! They just tried to rob me at the Pep Boys on Christopher Columbus BLVD. Let me begin by saying I love Pep Boys. Im from Philadelphia, I know all of the history and I am proud to say The Boys is from my home town. That is why I am not just disappointed. I am embarrassed and angry. My vehicle broke down on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, I had it towed by AAA to Pep Boys, although AAA has a service shop almost directly across the street. Because again, I am proud to keep my money local and generally I can get what I need in a convenient time frame and at a reasonable price.My 2004 Honda Pilot needed an alternator, nothing crazy. It ruined the new battery which ultimately also needed replacement. I was once an Automotive Tech so I am very comfortable turning wrenches. Only because I was away from home did I even take the car to a shop. I was quoted almost $400 for labor because I had already bought the alternator from that very same Pep Boys for about $220. I decided to let them do it, after I bought the alternator, initially intending to do it myself, because how much is my time worth these days? Later that day, I received a phone call stating that they would need to take out the radiator and A/C condenser bringing the initial quote closer to $1,000. Mind you this is just labor because Ive already purchased the part. I ask them why because as a mechanic, I knew that this was unnecessary work to change the alternator in my specific car. Long story short, either every mechanic and tech in that shop needs to go back to school or they wanted to pad the bill. It has about 10 bays so more likely they just wanted to pad the bill, especially because I spoke to two service writers at this point and asked them to hold off on the work and they still changed the oil. If my car is irreparable why would I still need an oil change.Ending this long story, I went down 2 days later and replaced the alternator in the same spot they had parked it. It took me 45 minutes to do the repair. Now if you didnt know, auto work is charged at a set rate judging by the initial cost this paid maybe 3 hours labor. I did it in 45 minutes on the street. So that pace in a shop is very efficient. Pretty good profit, but apparently not enough for these thieves. I say thieves because I explained to them that the job they were describing was not what was needed. I have a transversely mounted engine. There was no need to take the entire front of the vehicle off and also that would lower your productivity. I was able to repair the alternator without taking apart the front of the vehicle, in their parking lot. The only good reason to even suggest such a thing is to pad the bill. The average consumer would never know, the work they were describing was unnecessary and probably agree to the extra charge.Not only was my time wasted, but I find these actions to be dishonest and a ruse to get more money. I am highly disappointed with the service I received. I actually went to another Pep Boys by me to get the battery. Service like this is what gives Pep Boys and good mechanics a bad name. They should be embarrassed.

Terrible customer service. I booked an appointment online for 4:30, tried calling to confirm 4 times, no answer. I show up and I’m told they won’t be able to get my car back to me until 8pm. I booked the appointment at 8AM. So between 8-4:30. No one could have called me in advance? I’ll be going back to Mavis for all future car work.

You almost have to marvel at the complete lack of accountability and breathtakingly poor communication. Any timelines that they offer should be taken as little more than random words exiting their mouths. If you want a status update, dont expect one from them but do expect to call them and wait 5 minutes on hold. The most frustrating part is how obvious it is that they want YOU to feel like YOU are bothering THEM by having the audacity to ask for your car back. Dont worry though, its not like people need their cars... especially during the week.

When someone shows up he is walking back to the counter watching his phone.Then tells me that even though I made an appointment online for one day service that I would not have my car by end of day.Didn’t leave my car, making my choice to never go back to pep boys easier.

I called Sunday at 11:15am to inquire about getting a tire replaced and was assured that it could be completed by the end of the day. I brought the car in at 11:30 and waited at least 5 minutes before even seeing an employee.The woman at the counter said she would call me when it was done but I received no communication from her. I finally called at 5:30 to check on the status because their website said they close at 6pm. The woman told me that my car was just getting finished but that I couldnt pick up my car until the next day because they were already closed. Their website said they were still open and she was clearly still at work. After I explained those details, I again asked if it was possible for me to pick up my car today before 6pm and she responded with a very snarky Nope.Poor communication and poor service.

David is a very rude person instead of him explaining the reason why I couldn’t use my pep boys card/number in the store part I walked back to the service center and Patrick was very helpful and explained that the company was divided into separate parts and that the rewards only is being use for services and not purchasing. I recently visited the Pepboys location on 1000 S Christopher Columbus Blvd for a routine oil change and have a couple of issues with the service I received.I received a call from one of the reps at the store informing me that I needed two new tires at the very least, and I agreed to the service to be completed. Once the work was completed, one of the mechanics called to let me know that they had locked my steering wheel and were unable to get my car started and that there was an issue with the ignition.I walked up to pep boys seeing if there was a way I could unlock the steering wheel, but was unable to. I went up to the counter to see if there was any additional assistance they could provide. The guy at the counter was very dismissive and even answered a phone call on his cell phone from his “bae”, instead of putting the customer first.I took a bus and then a train to get to work the next day. My husband went up to the Pepboys location, and was able to get the car started- something that any knowledge car tech or mechanic should have been able to do. While on 76, to pick me up from work, one of the tires came off and flew four lanes across traffic. My husband waited hours for a tow truck to come from your customer service, but finally reached out to AAA who came out within an hour.The AAA tow took my car to the same Pepboys to get fixed, and I called the next morning to ensure they received my keys and were actively working on my car. The girl at the counter said that my car had two cars I front of me from the night before and would be serviced after (this was at 10 am). I let her know that I would need my car back that day and she said she would try.After not hearing back by 4pm, I walked to that location to get an update only to be told I wouldn’t get it back until probably Tuesday or Wednesday.I can’t keep taking 2 hours getting to and from work by way of bus and train, and Patrick said that location would be whiling to help us by getting a rental car for me- which has not happened nor have I been compensated for using one today after he told me just to send an invoices.Today my husband received a call from that location asking where the tire is (which is on 76- four lanes over from where is was flung from my car) and they are now trying to hold us accountable for the tire.Not only have I already paid for a service that wasn’t don’t correctly, I am paying out of pocket for rental cars, and now being held accountable for your mechanics mistakes.I would also like to add, I emailed your customer service department, and have had a single response in two days.I will be seeking legal counseling, as not only can I not continue to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for their mistake, but this mistake could have taken the life of my husband and those driving in his proximity.

I have always been taking my cars to pepboys because they are honest. They do not tell you something is wrong with your car just to make money. Been to places like that before. Horrible. I kindly denied service because I had noticed my tire pressure wasn’t holding air well so I assumed I had a leak, hoping I could get it sealed or just a new one. Tried charging me $1000+ saying it was my rim and I could not drive off the lot which I knew was off. I said I would take my chances anyways, I got in my car my tire pressure gauge READ 90 PSI and the others 60 when it was suppose to be 40 PSI on my tire. I got out they didn’t even put the cap back on it. Seems like they thought I wouldn’t notice and wanted me to have a blow out or get hurt because I declined service.. are you kidding me? How is that even a mistake. Ended up taking my car to Foreign Fix they refurbished the tire for $250 good as new!

Was promised a tire that was at another store same day. Brought tore at 1030AM. Tire was supposed to be picked up same day, brought back, and installed same day. Called back at 4 pm, no one went to even get the tire from Bear DE store, as promised, and then i had to cancel order with this store then drive all the way to Bear DE to get the tire myself, becausecustomer service rep at Philly store was not even interested in my issue. Staff at Bear DE store was helpful though. Will never Shop at Pep Boys again.

Ive never written a review on Google before but my experience at this location was awful. Id seen that their overall rating was subpar, but normally I take that with a grain of salt.Spent an hour and a half waiting for my scheduled appointment to get two new tires installed that I had purchased a few days earlier online. My car never left the parking lot out front. Had to check in with staff three times over the hour and a half to get any information. Turns out the tires I had ordered were not at this location. Eddie told me twice he was calling the neighboring location to check if they had any. The third time I spoke with him he finally made a call (I am positive it was the first call he made) in front of us - they didnt even have them. Eddie continued to be vague when we asked what the plan was (Do we come back tomorrow? How long will it take to get these tires to this location?). We ended up leaving after expressing our frustration with the situation. Eddie said hell call me tomorrow morning when the tires arrive. Hes going to bring them up out of the kindness of his heart from South Jersey where he lives. I will be shocked if I hear from them tomorrow, based on my own experience and after reading other customers experiences.Currently on hold with the Pep Boys customer service line to get a full refund. Theres plenty of other garages to patronize in South Philly. Dont waste your time here!Their employees cant even wear masks correctly. Not surprised that their customer service and repair skills are lacking.

I have been coming to this Pep Boys for the past several years and generally been pleased with the service I have received. Lately it appears all of the service managers have changed over and every time I take my vehicle in I am getting nickle and dimed. I will avoid this location going forward. I just paid $30 to have a tire plugged after paying around $1000 for tires a couple months ago. Not happy with these guys anymore.

Horrible experience. I got a flat tire around 4 on a Saturday. Knowing that most places wouldnt be open on Sunday, I had one chance to make it to this location before my tire went fully flat. I was already planning to replace my brakes and told them to do the brakes while it was at their shop. I reiterated to them several times that I needed my car back on Sunday so that I could make it to work the next day. After not hearing anything back all day, I decided to go to the shop just before they closed to make sure I get my car back. It was then when I learned that they ordered the wrong parts to replace my brakes. Since my car was still lifted in their shop, I imagine they were not going to contact me and tell me I couldnt get my car back until the next day. On top of all that? They still charged me for the plug in my tire. What a terrible experience. I will definitely take my business elsewhere.

I picked up the vehicle today 11/25. The vehicle made it back to Virginia, however now it is experiencing the same issues. So either the issue was not fixed properly or the work was rushed. The parts have a warranty, but the labor does not. It is NOT feasible to bring the vehicle back to Philadelphia to be looked at. Therefore, I need a pep boys in Virginia to look at the car and fix the issue I paid for OR refund me for the labor so I can pay someone to fix the car properly.

This is the worst pep boys I ever been to. I just brought my car here a few days ago. They had my car for an entire day. I called 6 hours after my car was dropped off and they said the car was up shortly and they would call me when it was finished. I go there hrs later 45 min before they close to find my car in the same parking spot I left it in that morning. The car was untouched and hadn’t even been looked at by a mechanic. I asked for my keys and left. I’m done with pep boys. Terribly ran store on columbus blvd.

My 24 year old daughter took her 2016 Mazda there to get her tire repaired, they told her that couldnt be done and proceeded to tell her they only had one tire that would work and it was $150! A week later she gets her brakes done from our regular mechanic that weve used for 10 + years, he told her she needed a new back tire, the one she just got from your establishment, its soft to touch on the side walls and has a bump, also located on the side walls. Shes been trying to call the store and continues to be left on hold for over 1/2 hour. I would never recommend this place, they took advantage of a young girl!

My boyfriend had an appointment Friday at 1:30. We dropped the car off and they said it would be done by the end of the day. We called multiple times Saturday since we didn’t hear anything, and all they told us was we’ll call you when it’s done. After not hearing anything, we walked there early Sunday afternoon. They said it was done but didn’t get around to calling us. They then gave us the wrong key and tried to tell us it was our problem and it’s a dealership issue. When he finally understood no it’s the wrong key, they then couldn’t locate our key. The person who did our car was not in and they couldn’t get ahold of the person. He asked if we could give him a time tomorrow (Monday) and I immediately said no he leaves at 5am for work. After still not being able to locate our key, we had to walk back home to get the spare key, walk back there to get the car, and now call tomorrow to get the key they lost. This is not the first issue we’ve had here, but I will not recommend this location.

Not only did I wait for 10min while the associate answered phone calls on hold, before I could finish speaking he cut me off to tell me he has 12 cars ahead and could not direct me to a local auto shop in the area. When I picked up the vehicle, it was beyond evident someone broke into my car and rummaged through all my belongings. No windows were broken, so one would assume the vehicle was left unlocked. When I brought this to the manager’s (Eddie) attention, his lackluster demeanor as it pertains to client satisfaction was more than apparent. He did not seem to care that he/his staff/ the other manager (Patrick) didn’t inform me when my car was actually finished or that this happened while my vehicle was in their care. Absolutely no responsibility was taken for what happened while my car was in their care. Do not, and I mean do not take your car for servicing here.

I brought my f150 truck to get looked at by a technician as the power steering was leaking and needed a new hose. They told me it needed a new power steering module and other things said $2300 to fix it. I had it towed to my local guy it was $100 for a new hose installed. This pep boys is a rip off .

11/12/20 Brought in car to the Delaware Ave., Phila. location for replacement light, check fluids and operation before traveling for holidays. Assistant Manager Romeo and Mechanic Felix gave my car a thorough check. They found some important work. I actually met Felix on my way in to my appt. Hes very courteous. Romeo really heard what I was saying. He pointed out dryrot in my 5yo tires and a leak on my front passenger axle. Im glad thats fixed so I can get to my destination and back again in one piece!

Double check your bill before you pay! Had a 9:00am appt for brakes and state inspection, when dropping the car off I was told it would take 2 hours. The car didnt get pulled into a bay until 10:15 and 3 hours after that they told me the car was ready. While the associate was ringing me up, I asked did it pass? I waited 4+ hours for them not to even do an inspection, they almost let me pay and leave without checking it was done. Once I made them realize their mistake they took it back in and I waited an additional hour for them to say the inspection couldnt be done because the emissions machine kicked my car back, I was given no further explanation as to what this meant. I was quoted $220 on the phone when scheduling the appt but was charged $396 at checkout. They added a warranty charge (which was never mentioned nor did I opt for), double charged for labor, charged me although they never ran the inspection initially, and didnt deduct the rebate for bringing in your own parts (I provided my own pads and rotors). Make sure to check your bill and do the math before you pay, just dont blindly swipe! Would get 1 star except the service rep was very kind, helpful and apologetic, he corrected my charges once I brought the mistakes to his attention.

This is the worst Pepboys experience I’ve ever had. They over charge for an oil change, I waited for 30minutes to pick up my car because they had one working the service. I was not notified when my car was ready, and just found it in the parking lot. Other staff was incompetent. Do NOT waste your time here.I came back unfortunately due to a desperation in needing my oil changed and the service was just as bad if not worse this time because the mechanics did not update my car. The oil change light is still flashing in my car, the computer that tracks mileage was not reset and they did not leave a sticker in the top corner to show when I need my oil changed again. How am I supposed to know when I need to get it changed again if I have no accurate record?

Very poorly run business. First visit: booked an oil change online for an evening time slot. After an hour waiting I went to check on my car and they hadn’t even serviced it yet. Was told by the woman at that counter that I shouldn’t book that close to closing because this happens. Then why is it an option? The oil change took two hours to complete. I decided to give the location a second chance as it is very close to where I live. I booked an appointment for 5:30 pm for a check engine light and when I arrived was told by the agent that it was too late and the person who does that service had gone home. Again why is it even an option online?! I next booked online for drop off for the following morning. The next day around 10am I hadn’t heard anything. I call the shop and the phone line wasn’t even working to answer messages. I had to call pep boys customer service in order to get in contact with them. They clearly weren’t even aware my car was there and they didn’t see my key in the drop box, probably because the drop box is broken. as evident from the outside. Finally got in contact with the manager who gave us two alternative numbers to call for a status check. When again I called to check on my car there was no answer to either of the numbers he gave us. Car wasn’t done until 3pm so a total of 7 business hours for an engine light check. Icing on the cake: I come to pick up the car and they can’t find the keys for about 10 minutes. I will not be going back.

Drop off my car on 24-Oct -2020 for oil change axle bushing replacement at 2:pm and they call me on 29-10-2020 1pm which is exactly after 5 days and told me they need another special part and I have to wait another 2 freaking day for that part. Unbelievable the shop that I go usually can get any part in hour the most hardest part he will get in next day . Will never ever go there again . Suck too bad my guys on vacation

This is the most inefficiently run Pep Boys Ive ever been to. For the second year in a row, I had to wait over 2 hours for a scheduled appointment. Today I waited almost 3 hours and my car sat untouched with nothing started. The advisor, Victor was polite and courteous and embarrassed for the situation but the lack of concern for customers is deplorable! Theres no update unless you go to the counter to inquire. I put my car september 15 to change master break cylinder I pick it up the next day and my breaks locked, I almost died. I brought it back to get it fixed again on yesterday october 13 nothing was done and all the parts are scattered around the inside of the car. they totally destroyed my car to the point I had to get it back with a tow truck. Completely rude and totally humiliated me back and forth for a month. I didnt received to compensation for any damages that have occurred while my car was under there care.Please dont waste your money on them its more worth it to look somewhere else.

I set an appointment for buying tires. After an hour waiting I find out they did not bring the car in to start, even though I set an appointment. Then I learn that theyithey did not have the tires for the vehicle after the fact, and that they had to retrieve them. They could have told me they were out of stock of that tire instead of letting me sit there. I would have just bought another brand. The mechanic was awesome and helped out detailing what I wanted outta my tires. Overall a sour tasting experience.

Really disappointed in this place, During my work hours, I took my car in to do an inspection. The lady at the counter said it will take an hour to preform but I needed to wait a half hour for them to get to it. I explicitly indicated I was during my work hours and wanted assurance that I needed to get it done soon.While I waited, I decided to buy a camera for my car, car seat cover for my back seat, plus a phone holder that fit in my cup holder. After I spent a half hour, the car was still sitting in the parking lot. So I told the lady, if they arent going to work on my car then I want to cancel. So the manager stepped in and gave me my keys back.So while finishing my shopping, within 5 minutes had a change of heart so I told them im going to put the car seat cover on the back seat and set up my camera. I told the lady if they can do it still, they can still finish the job. I told the lady that I will be still here putting my back seat cover on. So tell me either way if it could be done, I suggested that they could either come out and tell me, Or if its easier to just call me on my cell phone to let me know.I got neither notification, when I was done working on my back seat and setting up the camera. I looked at my paperwork and I ended up spending a total of an hour and a half in that store and no work was done. Meanwhile besides the inspection, I spent over $100.00 in product. Total arrogance on the managers side to let me know either way if they could proceed. (This guy is not a good representation of the corporation)

Where do I start....I had a schedule appointment at 9am for an oil change and that I would be staying at the store. Store was late on opening and as I go to hand my keys over to the employee, it took them nearly an hour and 30 minutes to finally take my car into the shop. 3 hours total later and still no confirmation of completion. Instead of saying theyll call you and tell you when its ready, just be up front and say expect heavy delays and estimated time may vary between late or very late. I really wish I can give them a rating lower than 1. Worse OIL CHANGE ever and never coming back to this location again. Waiting on the eventual owners automated response asking that they want you to send them more information and investigate when clearly, every review is literally what they experienced to probably the fullest detail. **UPDATE** After 4 hours 20 minutes its finally done.

I’m only giving two stars because Patrick at the service desk went above and beyond to help me. But I dropped my car off at 10am by 4 I called because I’d heard nothing and it was just being taken into the back to be looked at. 7pm comes around the place closes and I get no phone call so now I’m without a car. They don’t open until 8am tomorrow so I guess I have to call out from work because I’ve got no car and there’s no way for me to get there without one. This has been a horrible experience I mean come ON 9 hours to do an inspection and an oil change !?! They took advantage of the fact I didn’t stay and wait for it, that in itself is unprofessional. My usual garage has been closed and I was desperate for an inspection but for f’s sake never again will I waste my time or money on this place.

I cant say enough about the service I received today. My wife clipped the curb late this afternoon and tore the sidewalls on two tires. As she needs her car to get to work I pulled the wheels and ran them down 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday (without calling ahead) and they went out of their way to get them swapped. A big thanks to Matthew for great customer service. He obviously cares about his job and the quality of service the location gives. Fantastic. And the kicker? I was out the door in 25 minutes! Who does that?! Thanks guys, you are most appreciated.

I can not say enough about this Pep Boys location. The reason, I keep coming back is, yes-they are affordable, but most importantly the service. Jim took care of me my first time here, he was honest, fast working and just incredibly kind. I felt like I could trust him with my car and look to him for advice on what next steps to take. Even when I was just getting my oil changed, I stopped to say hello and he gave a granola bar while I was waiting. Seriously, this guy is the best and the biggest part of the reason I keep coming back. The other staff is great too. Everyone is courteous and efficient and helpful!

I set up an appointment for an emissions inspection. I was told that depending on volume there are days when they can take care of your needs quickly and days where it takes a bit longer. My vehicle was taken care of in an adequate amount of time - I chose to drop off and come back later for it. My technician Jim was so helpful, very knowledgeable and super friendly. This was my first experience at a Pep Boys and they now have my loyalty and business moving forward. Jim was awesome!

This is the worst place to bring your car. I brought my car here to have a tire replaced because it got a nail in the tread and could not be plugged. Brought my car in at 8am one morning and was promised it would be finished by 5pm. 5pm came and went and they did not even call me to let me know they would be keeping my car over night. When I called the following morning to figure out what happened, i learned they did not even start working on my car.When the work on my car was finally completed, I picked up my car and saw that they did not rotate my tires even though i was charged for this service. So the newest tires with the most amount of tread are both on the passenger side and the tires with the least amount of tread are on the driver side.When I asked them about this issue and told them my car is AWD and the newest tread should be at the front. The MANAGER had no idea my car was even AWD. For reference I have a 2016 Audi. This is standard in Audi brand cars. He then asked me if it said AWD on the back of my car .... This man should not be in the car mechanic business if this is something he doesn’t know. He then told me not to drive my car because it isn’t safe because the tires were not rotated. Now if i did not realize this mistake, this could’ve caused damage to either my car or to myself on the road.I know have to bring my vehicle back to have the tires rotated even though it should have been done in the first place.Truly terrible, take your money somewhere else

Customer service is horrible. All I had was 1 flat tire change and it took them all day till closing! Not to mention when it was done, they said nothing. I sat in the store after hours and no one let me know that they had finished, I had to finally talk to someone to get my keys back. Never going here again, fix your service.
