My first time here was a great experience. I came in for an oil change and they went above and beyond with the customer service by refilling my anti freeze. Everyone I met was professional and courteous. I’ll definitely be a regular here

This was the worst experience Ive had. I chose them because they are black owned. That was my mistake. I told them exactly what I was told needed to be done. The starter is the issue. They tell me nothing is coming up in their system. I get a callback with a total of over $300. They let me know they changed the spark plugs. I pay and not even a week later my car wont start. I get AAA out again and they say yet again its my starter. I call them and tell the issue again. I take it to them on a Monday to only find out Im right on Tuesday. Out of curiosity I asked how much it would cost to have them take care of all parts and labor. Over $700!!! I tell the owner my issues and he gives me an excuse of well we start small then go big. Highly annoyed. I then asked what would it be if I got my own part. 150 for labor. The part I forgot to mention I asked for a receipt on the first job for a week and didnt get until the second job was done. They arent organized and I dont think they care. Ill take my car where I use to be I go here again.

Brought my car in for repairs a few weeks ago (cracked windshield, front bumper and fender replacement). Price was much better than I had anticipated, and I got my car back about a week later (wouldve been sooner if it didnt snow so much). Everything has been going well since I got the car back, and should any more issues arise, Ill definitely come back here.

The best automotive repair experience I have ever had! Customer service both over the phone and in person is bar none. Not only was I greeted, treated, and respected with the utmost care and professionalism, I was quoted 42% percent less than any other auto collision shop in the area - and considering how severe the damages were to my car that needed repair, this is a considerable monetary amount that was saved me! They were even able to work out an installment plan with me with very reasonable installments and terms. I will never go anywhere else in the city of Philadelphia for mechanical, collision, or auto-maintenance work!

Was referred to place for brakes which turned into a disaster. One of the employees lost my key and had no intentions on telling me until I popped up at the shop the day the work was supposed to be completed. The date that my car would be ready kept getting pushed back. The owner decided to go through “their own people” for my new key instead of the dealership. The worst customer service I ever experienced. Car was supposed to be ready Saturday and it’s Monday I’m still currently waiting.

It is always a pleasure when I come to this shop. I am a repeat customer, my car was serviced yesterday and it was finished quickly I dropped my car off in the morning and it was complete early afternoon. The staff was awesome! I would recommend using this shop. I’ve been going to Murphy’s Auto Repair since 2013 I was recommended by a friend. My car is an 2008 Chevy and have many miles due to it being a used vehicle and I still have the same car to this date. My car has lasted this long not only because I took care of it and stayed on to of maintenance but also from the professional work by Sandas and his workers. The work has always been good.

My experience at this auto body shop was phenomenal! I had gotten Into a accident and knew nothing about the process. I was set up with a rental, made sure I had gotten to the rental car place and was told my car would take a certain amount of time to get fixed come to find out it was fixed wayyy before the date give (which is a plus) Everyone was very polite, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about my well being and making sure i was comfortable with the process. I would recommend ANYONE to this auto body shop there were no hidden charges, no back door stunts like other shops try to pull, they are truly trustworthy here. I now only come to S. Murphy for all my auto needs and would recommend anyone to go if they would like a great overall experience.

I liked that Murphys Auto offers a warranty on transmission I received. I searched around and no other place I called had this in place not even the dealerships. I would recommend them to anyone. I took my car in for a coolant issue on the worse day ever Friday March 2 with all the wind and snow ice and rain i wasn’t turned away. after numerous failed attempts at correcting the issue Luqman was able to diagnose and resolve the issue with quality products, the staff is pleasant and professional. i had to leave my car till the next morning and i needed a ride home in the storm Uber was high and Joe stepped right in and made sure i got home safely i haven’t had too many experiences like this and to top it off i don’t feel like they were trying to get over because I’m a woman. I had my BMW 3 Series serviced at S Murphy auto repair in West Philly after I was driving up Chestnut street on my way to a business meeting when my car began to over heat. My radiator was cracked and I didn’t have much time to wait for a repair. S Murphy auto repair provided me with a loaner car to continue my day and I paid hundreds less than what BMW would have charged me for the repair work. They’re Fast Friendly and True Repair Experts at S Murphy.

The service here was HORRIBLE. They charged me almost $900 to fix my car once they gained my business, there was no more communication. I called up here atleast 10 times a day to see what the status of my car was. a job that only was supposed to take a day ended up taking 3 days. I still never reeived a call i had to go up there and they said i was ready. after retrieving my car i notced all my lights on the dash board was lit up (abs light, emergency brake light,service engine light,) my car now sounds horrible prior to what it sounded like before i took it to this place. In my opinon the service was bad, the work was bad, and they are unprofessional ..... I would never reccommend this place to anyone.

What a great family business. At this point, I’ve interacted with the grandfather, the original owner, and his two grandkids— a sister and brother who are running the auto shop now together. They treat it like a family business, going far beyond the typical level of service to make your experience comfortable and build trust. They personally picked up and dropped off my car at my house, offered to pay for my Ubers when their loaner car didn’t come back on time, and made good on their promise of paying for the more expensive fix when the first fix they originally diagnosed didn’t work. I can’t recommend these guys enough! I will be returning for all my future car needs and have told many people about how great they are. It’s rare today to work with such genuinely good people!

If I could rate them 0 I would, I came here looking for good mechanics due to the high reviews, what followed was a very expensive lesson that never got fixed, I’m not here to bash the company or whatever I’m just being honest, paying 1150 bucks to get a problem fixed that never got fixed, and taking forever with no return calls to let you know how your vehicle is doing, wasting my premium gas, and every time I got the vehicle back something else seemed wrong, they can keep the 1150 bucks they took from us, that was a expensive lesson and a nightmare I don’t wanna go through again, by reading this review they know who I am, so let me say this, what you did was messed up and if it was you, I doubt you’d be happy either, smh, they never fixed the check engine light now I got white smoke, BEWARE, you’ve been warned.

Ive taken my car to S. Murphy on two occasions and asked for professional opinions at other times. They are caring, attentive, knowledgeable and fair.

The Murphys have been caring for my familys vehicles since the early 200Os. Beginning on Ridge Ave, Mr. Murphy has saved me countless hours of agony and lots of money in car repairs. I recall when I was attending LaSalle U for nursing school and Id be so stressed between classes and a full time job and my car wanted to compete for my attention. Id drop my car off, hed drive me to school and when class was over my car was fixed!! Prices would be right too. He was always very courteous, respectful, trustworthy and professional. The Murphys have actually serviced every car myself or my son have ever owned. I have since moved to the Westside so of course, Sanders - the Grandson is our familys new mechanic. Same great family values. I couldnt imagine taking my Shades of Gray (my Dodge Avenger) to anyone else!
