I shop here once to twice a month for fruit & vegetables and Oyster mushrooms. The prices are good. The store is very clean and cashiers are very helpful. The price for a case of coconut water is lower here than most places.
Its not the prettiest grocery store, but its got the best produce for the best prices in the area.Garlic and green onions are like half the price compared to American grocery stores, and most veggies have much better portion sizes for the price.
Store is great but parking can be a nightmare even though there is parking. Maybe expanding parking in the future?
A crowded busy Vietnamese market. Everything from fresh vegetables to fresh fish. Rows of everything Vietnamese from condiments, spices to boxed goods. Busy parking lot. Vietnamese restaurants in same parking lot.
I shop here occasionally. There are only two ways to shop here if you are non-Asian, like me. #1: youre looking for a specific item and you know what it is. Or #2: youre happy wander aimlessly and discover interesting food items to add to your pantry. The place is poorly/haphazardly organized. I never find favorite items in the same place. Basically, shopping here is an adventure if you are a patient foodie like me.
Great supermarket! Highly recommend. Great food, great prices. Kind staff.
Donβt buy anything from this supermarket. They scam you!!!!! I purchased this pork slices and plan to cook it for dinner. I cooked it on the same day, put the first two layers of pork slices in and all the bottom layers are dark and spoiled . They use fresh meat to cover up, repackaged it, and sell it to customers. What a disappointment and dishonest business practice. Spend your money somewhere else.
Good place to buy asian groceries and its complete, even you can buy fresh fish, clams, shrimp, meat and etc. You wont dissapointed and the cashier is fast ..ππ
One of my favorite Asian grocery stores. It has great products at cheap prices - which is the most important thing about a grocery store! I always get fruits and vegetables at cheaper prices here than at typical grocery stores (Giant, Fresh Grocer, Acme, etc.). Parking is tricky (but Ive never had a problem), so come during off-peak hours to avoid the hassle!
Love this market! Best selection of fruits and seafood for exotic recipes.
Really great produce. Inexpensive shrimp and tons of other fish. Their meat is fresh but not great. Finding someone who speaks English can be difficult so getting a cut of meat that they dont usually have in their case isnt always in the cards.Plenty of hard to find Asian ingredients, Chinese teas, and Asian candies.Worth a visit.
The supermarket is by far the best of the bunch from the surrounding area. My wife makes it a point to remind me that were going to this specific market. Fish produce is great, and its always busy which speaks volumes for the quality of produce you are getting.
Good price on most of the groceries.Fresh vegetables and fruit aisles are at great price.
Parking is the worse in here. I recommend shopping in the weekday. You can find different kind of snack here.
Good place for shopping food, fresh, good prices and a lot of choices! But there is something that I can not understand. Today I carry my own shopping bag with me because I not want to used plastic bags . I the guy who sit at the door to enter market stop me and ask me have to leave me empty shopping bag at his table if I wanna shopping inside?! Check in my empty without any number or something for later I check out my bag ?! I saw a lot of people that carry they back bag handbags... and I can carry empty one ?! Do they think I come here to steal a lemon or a chilly pepper? Or those people if they bad they canβt steal something and put it in their bags? Or because they races me? Donβt take me wrong, I like to shopping here a lot but I hope that whoever in charge see this review and make thing better for everyone every shopper feel comfortable to shopping here!
My mom and dad went to this grocery store each week to buy food item ingredients to cook. The place is decent, price is OK although it seems to be going up each year.
I pop in here occasionally for dumpling wrappers, which tend to be difficult to find at the grocery stores that are closer to me. Its a 15-minute walk each way so I just get what I cant find elsewhere so I dont have to lug a lot home, and so I havent spent too much time in the rest of the store. Its a little more crowded than I like and thats the only reason I took off a star. They do tend to have someone out front on the weekends to count the number of folks in the building and limit it when it gets too high, but the aisles are narrow and theres always a bit of a bottleneck around the produce and wrapper/noodle/tofu sections regardless. Today I went in the morning (Sunday) and it was less crowded so thats probably what Ill try to do in the future. Overall, seems like a good spot for whatever you might need!
Love this place.Really very good for all kinds of vegetables, fruits and they have great fish stock that are fresh.Their price range is reasonable and have a lot of variation of food.
Amazed at the variety of fresh, frozen and packaged goods. First visit!
Was followed around the store like a criminal. At 71 years old on a mobility chair I expected better.
Contains a decent selection of produce and seafood. Parkings a real pain during peak hours, though.
It is an Asian characteristic supermarket with a lot of Asian vegetables, herb and snack. If you try something special and not so American style, you can find it here. There is a Chinese BBQ kiosk on the right side. You can buy roast duck, roast pork and BBQ meat there. For the roast pork, it is certainly not to buy a whole pig (very expensive) but to buy one pound (about $18) or two pound (about $36) chopped roast pork to taste. It is amazing when you taste the crunchy pork skin with the sweet meat beneath it. The mouth watering level is 5 of 5. Try it and you will not be disappointed. If you need to drive over one hour to return home, please dont cover the container lid. Otherwise the pork skin will not be crunchy. Please open the container lid and put the container in a stable and upright place. Have fun!
We love it here. Drive for 45 minutes to get here. Fresh food. Great choices.
Ok to shop there, but compare to chinatown, could be better
Outstanding! Many products and good prices.
Great place for southeast Asian groceries!
Great Asian market great variety of veggies, fruits, an snacks from all over Asia. Good prices friendly staff.
This supermarket has good prices, has general asian groceries and focuses on Vietnamese items, and had lots of fresh produce and seafood. The parking here is very chaotic and limited.
Wide variety of East Asian food and seafood. Affordable price. Worth a trip from central NJ.
Well stocked and great price on products. Minimal parking and little sprucing up would be great.
As soon as you walk in turn to your left and order yourself some duck itβs great
Great selection of Asian food and reasonable price. The only complain is that the space is so crowded. Every time during my shopping, the staffs are busy moving stuff. Very annoying.
Really interesting place for a tourist to go.
Great place for Chinese groceries. Very clean except the wet floor in the bathroom
Im only upset that I didnt start shopping here sooner. Any foodie in Philly should stop by.
I was surprised today, around 4pm on a Tuesday. It was the LEAST crowded Ive ever seen it. Also, the parking lot of doom was only at 65% capacity...Along with everything else I picked up there, I was looking for Kewpie mayonnaise. It eluded me and two stockers couldnt help me. Otherwise, great produce! Good selection of fresh meat and seafood.
Great selection of produce at reasonable prices. Lots of items you cant find at a more traditional grocery stores. Best place.to buy Asian specialties and staples. Some dry items can be a little past their prime. Horrible parking situation and usually quite packed.
Its a great market, I just wish the parking there was better and not so cramped. It also doesnt help that the neighboring restaurant wont allow anyone to park there, even though all the shops share that one parking lot...
Hard to find parking in the middle of the day, but its reflective of how busy and popular this supermarket is. Its very big has a huge selection of Asian groceries. You should be able to find anything you need there if youre looking to cook Asian cuisine. Pricing is decent. However, like I said, parking isnt the best in the middle of the day -- You may even find yourself driving in circles around the lot until someone leaves. But if youre okay with that, everything else about the supermarket is good.
Great place for variety of authentic Asian food items
Two whole aisles of soy sauce!
As you walk into the store you are greeted by a foul smell similar to rotting produce. They have a large selection of Asian food and are pretty clean other than the smell. But its quite annoying being hounded by Security Guards in the parking lot who come and yell at you for stopping to pick someone up or drop someone off. The Security Guards at this location do not create a Welcoming environment and are quite frankly the main reason why Id never shop here again.
The employees used to be more friendly and helpful.
Parking is so tight during the peak hours, it really sucks. Someone should be doing traffic for the incoming and outgoing vehicles to avoid accidents.
Very clean and easy to find what you need. This is my favorite place in Philly.
The seafood section is the best part of the market. The seafood is fresh, high quality and cleaned and cut to specifications.
A large grocery store where you can find all the necessary Asian products you want. Large verity of fresh fruits and vegetables, Noodles, sauces and oils, seafoods and other kitchen items, nicely arranged, with a reasonable price. I find this grocery store always busy with lots of people buying things. Itβs quite far from my place, so I donβt go here often, whenever I go, I will buy everything I want and some extra items to stock for couple of months.* It is hard to navigate through the isles with shopping cart because they are narrow.*As I said, narrow isles and busy store makes it harder for you not to bump into each other. So, WEAR A MASKπ·.*This place smells horrible. Even the mask couldnβt help π. Maybe because of the seafoods and meat products.*They do have a parking lot, but, since the grocery store is popular, busy and in the middle of the city, it is hard to get parking, sometimes, you might be circling around the parking lot until someone leaves.
Variety and Value seafood, produce, meats multiple selection it was like a mall for it all anddd saved myself a 20 miles π¦Ύπ
Wide variety of asian fruit and veggies. Ginger products, great .
Great selection of produce and spices, with some fruit and veggies you wont find easily elsewhere. Good value.
Great store with great prices but parking can be horrible! The store itself is 5 stars.
Been going here since I was a wee little lass love going here
I go there for vegetables and seafood
One of the better Vietnamese grocers I go to when I head down to Philly with the family. Always plentiful with a plethora of foreign imports all at reasonable prices. Good deals on produce and their meat/seafood as well.
I rate 5β for their fresh produce. I am delighted to find fruits not commonly found in the standard American grocery stores: jackfruit, rambutan, Korean melon, pitaya, you name it! However, I give it only 3β due to the lack of diversity in the sources of their packaged products. They are skewed toward Vietnam and China. I wish to see more Japanese, more Korean, more Malaysian, and more Indonesian products. But I suppose you can only fit so much/little in one store. This lack of diversity is evident in the spice aisle. Hung Vuong Supermarket, if you are reading this - please get more selections of curry.
Clean friendly love shopping here
The inside was frozen me to death!!! The aisles are so narrow, you could hardly turn around without bumping into someone else, which was horrible especially during Covid-19!! The fruits and vegetables are not fresh and the staff there is super unfriendly and unwilling to help(they dont appreciate you shopping there and they dont treat you like a customer). Ive been to various kinds of grocery stores and supermarkets, I felt happy after shopping at Trader Joes, Fresh Grocer, Shoprite, etc. but I felt so unhappy after shopping at Hung Vuong Supermarket, I will never ever go there again!!!
Super filled with Asain products and very good service people..
Large Asian Supermarket in plaza, Pho, other cafes, but parking is horrible - no space in or out. Too narrow of a space!
This place has the best selection of vegan meats Ive found, thus far. I will absolutely be coming back here. They lose a star because some of the produce is past its prime, considering how other Asian markets in the city have a better looking selection. Im probably just being nitpicky but thats my opinion. π
Awesome selections for everything
Better price than H-mart and wide variety in goods especial fish
Fantastic variety with great prices. The aisles were difficult to navigate with a shopping cart, however. The parking lot was busy, but spots were available even at mid-day.
Best asian market in philadelphia
They HIGH IN PRICE
Selling rotten avocado and I got a products that has no expiration date
Great store, but bike here and save yourself the parking hassle.
Lovely variety of Chinese and American Stuff
Fresh vegetables every week
Very fast cashiers. Probably the fastest Iβve seen in this pandemic. Organized shopping experience for the circumstances. Be prepared to wait in line because they are limiting the amount of people in the store. Be prepared to wait at the register. Donβt be rude. Bring your patience. Theyβre doing the best they can. They are very chaste and this can come off as rude. This is common in asian stores, I relate it to the stress the workers are under and donβt take it personally. However, I had to find multiple items and the stockers were ALWAYS around to help me. Thereβs almost a person in every aisle. I really appreciated this, especially under the crazy conditions they were working in.Decent prices and wide selection. They were sold out of some things but that is to be expected. If you need toilet paper, they have it here. Good luck shopping everyone!
A great supermarket. With everything you need and stuff you have never seen before.
I need to spend more time here exploring Asian delicacies and spices.
I love the variety of vegetables, fish and Japanese sweets. It usually smells bad - just be aware and donβt forget your face mask.
The best in South Phila baby I have been going there for over 30 year the best Hallelujah
I bought a whole toast duck, the lady cut it separate with two plastic boxes. When I back home to open the plastic boxes that were lose two duck wings . It is very horror and liars supermarket .
The underground grocery store in China Town closed. This was my source for loose teas in a can. This market with a parking lot was a great find with many tea varieties, and produce. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon, but I still checked out within 10 minutes.
Great food and great prices but the smell of this place is is horrible. I forgot how bad it smelled, and then I remembered as soon as I walked in. And no, the mask does not help mask the smell of this store
The crispy pork is not good... very dry and bland. Second time this happened where I asked for half lean and half fatty cut and the lady gave me mostly lean cut. Also, the lady was sneaky when cutting up the crispy pork. She took off most of the skin and filled it with some bones instead when I wasnt looking... NEVER go for their hot foods! What a waste of $15...
This place is awesome. If you like Asian food or if you just want fresh fish or meat, they have it. Its even fun to just go and shop around. The selection is amazing.
Great Asian supermarket in which you can get almost anything you want!Great selection of fresh produce. They have special fruits that gets changed around with something different every week .Decent selection of dried and canned goods. The seafood selection has many fresh fish that are still swimming. Talk about fresh! The meat department doesnβt have any cows or pigs running around, but itβs still fresh, and they carry stuff that most other supermarkets donβt, like chicken feet and pork products. They have a nice selection of Asian snacks and candy from Asia and Japan.
Bigger, Cleanier than the other Hung Vuong Store
Great place to get meat and produce staples, as well as pretty much any Asian specialty ingredient you need, at a good price.
Great service, great selections.π
Lots of stuff. They do protection for guests. Checking out was really fast. All cashiers are protected really well. But the space is not rooming enough.
I need a language translator to get anything other than fish and veggies. Most products have no english on them.
Parking here is what nightmares are made of, however the stores are incredible.
Everything asian here.
Jammed packed all the time. Cleanliness is subpar and could use some updates but its okay. Been around a long time.
Great selection of fresh and grocery items, more types of rice noodle than I knew existed, and quick checkouts. Store is super clean too.
Have been shopping for groceries here for some time. usually good. A very rude security guard recently. Obviously tired, Talking Unnecessarily rude semantics at the end of the day. Things like this deter customer not attract customer. Called manager right after I got home and neither one of them were in the store surprisingly. I change my original star rating.
Authentic S.E.Asian Goods delivered at reasonable prices.
There is no customer service or guest respect. Only come here if you want to be treated like garbage and shop at a dirty store. They do have a lot of variety so its okay if you are desperate but dont expect to be treated well.
