This location has two entrances, both with interesting signs. You can enter through the Lucky Strike door and take the stairs to the right, or through the doors under the beautiful Blick sign.Inside are sprawling lanes of craft materials and staff who are attentive and a willingness to help. We were there to get materials for our Spotted Lanternfly costumes we were going to wear to Billy Penn trivia. The costumes were a hit and Blick is a big part of that. Will be coming here for any and all projects.

Took BFA Diploma to BlickPhillyFraming and got quote with an appointment for framing. Return appointment: quote was honored. I purchased hard to find archival quality pens with professional series 4’x6’ 93lb paper, spiral mixed media sketch book. Great experience overall. I recommend this location for your framing and art material needs.

To sign up for the Blick Card Membership! It can save you a lot of money if you have to frequent the Store for supplies. Plus with the Membership some items you purchase are buy one get one free Ive checked the area and the prices are reasonable if not cheaper than buying from other Stores.

Awesome art store. The only place around me that has individually sorted Sharpies for sale. When you need only one sharpie in one certain tip size, Blick will most likely have it or something better.

You have a single day, randomly, close an hour early? Your website lists this inconsistency under your regular hours... not good. Best practice is that exceptions go in same section and *above* routine information.I was on your Google listing & your website 4x this week. I was in your store on Saturday, 4 days ago (Jan 2). Yet, I find this out 30 min too late day-of. This was extremely poorly communicated and frustratingly inconsistent.Please note as well your regular closing time of 6 pm kinda screws folks who work during the day. I basically have a 20 min window after taking transit downtown on weekdays after work. I would suggest shifted hours to 10 am – 7 pm. Unless there is a significant 9 – 10 am rush.

So I went here for the first time today, and the customer service was absolutely fantastic! Everyone that works there is incredibly kind. The sheer variety of art materials to choose from is tremendous (and maybe a little intimidating!) I was looking for a finisher for a wood craft product I had used ink on, and Im glad I asked them first instead of taking a wild guess on Amazon! Its also easy to get inspired if you havent done anything artistic for a while! I would recommend this place to anyone!

They have a extensive selection of anything you could need for drawing, painting or sketching.you can buy prefabricated canvas or you can make your own stretch canvas... how cool is that?

Very cool underground art store!! I visit every time Im in the city and pick up a special new journal. The prices are a little out there but it is in center City so thats kind of to be expected. The store is huge and has everything an aspiring artist might need.

Stopped in here recently with a comprehensive list of painting supplies, most of which are foreign to me, for a class my daughter is taking. After wandering for a few minutes and feeling very overwhelmed, Dane asked if he could help us. We jokingly just handed him the list, and he did not skip a beat and proceeded to do our shopping for us. We could not have been more thankful. He was SO incredibly helpful, and the entire time he was helping us, he did so with a smile and a genuinely friendly and helpful personality. Based on this experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this store to my friends, and I would definitely shop here again.

Great store, fantastic prices. Keep an eye out for the sales because they make a phenomenal difference in the amount of money you can save. Definitely sign up for the rewards. Staff are very friendly and attentive and very informative. Any section of the store I went to the staff showed how well-versed they are on the vast library of products. Be mindful of the steps going in, they can make carrying bags back out somewhat laborious.

Love this store. This is a more traditional drafting and art supply store. But also, carries arts and crafty stuff too! Great selection of high quality material for the muralist/graffiti arts or sneaker artist. Speaks to the craft of expression. Frames, textile art, markers, brushes. etc. Staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Ive been in twice this week.

Blick is perfect for serious artists and beginners alike. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They have better selections of art supplies than Michaels or AC Moore, which are geared towards crafting, not art. They also have a ton of great stocking stuffer type gifts for the holidays, which is why I visited today.

Great place to shop for art supplies in Philly, and they have a lot to choose from. As always, I think Blick is a little too expensive (Im not a member, so maybe that would help), and would only go here for specialty supplies that I cant find elsewhere. They are decent at having lower priced, lower end items for those of us who dont make a ton of money while creating art.

The store is downstairs in LuckyStrike and they have their own entrance as well as an elevator for handicapped access.

$500 purchased and the clerk forgot brushes in the bag and the manager wouldnt send them so i had to return to the store.Returned a few items and purchased another $200 in merchandise and the guy forgot to give my credit card back. No apology and I had to go back to get it.Order skull ($35.99) online. Free shipping on items over $35. Says free shipping to I hit the pay button and BOOM it adds the shipping anyway.These are my last 3 experiences at Blick. I am getting extremely frustrated with the store and am about to stop shopping there. I love(d) Blick and prefer to support local business but I travel 45 to shop at Blick and there is an Artist and Craftsmen Supply two blocks from my home. This just is not worth the aggravation. I fear Blick is about to become a statistic. I hate to see it - I mourn the loss of all our great art supply stores. I am begging you to get it together!Blick is a great art store. First problem, they are too often out of stock on specific items. Yesterday it took my minutes to find a size 12 Filbert brush. Thats nuts. But my biggest complaint is the lack of follow through. Last month bought $400 worth of stuff. The brushes never made it to my bag. They didnt offer to send them to me - I had to go back. I went back - and of course bought more stuff. This time I didnt get my credit card back. WTF? Unfortunately, I have an art store within 3 blocks of my house. Blick is a 45 minute train ride one way.

Great supply store with some more niche items than other stores like AC Moore. They also frame canvases if you need that kind of service. The place is generally maintained but I notice it can get dusty at times. This makes my allergies go haywire. Other than that, good place with great employees looking to help. Highly recommend over the AC Moore across the street.

The experience was Awesome. I had quick and speedy service at the checkout counter and the Framing Counter.I actually went into the store to purchase a museum board for my print Final Evaluation.The waiting time to get my board cut was a little long. But the quality of the customer service in their employees and their work had a greater impact on my experience at the store.

Blick is an artists dream store. Its clean, its large and you can spend hours looking at a variety of art supplies. On my last visit, I was helped by Elizabeth, who, was extremely knowledgeable and helped me to find everything I was looking for. My shopping experience was so easy due to her expertise and pleasantness.

Blick has a great selection of pens, markers, and arts & crafts. They do not have a good variety of mechanical pencils, though... They have never heard of 0.2 mm lead, and they did not have in stock the 0.5 mm lead in 3B or 4B I needed. Sadly, I will hesitate visiting their store in the future, as I wasted about an hour searching for things on my own and with store assistance. Well, from now on I’ll gladly go to JetPens.com to purchase the pencils I need.

I’d lost my receipt and wanted to make an exchange, the staff informed me it wasn’t a problem thanks to their loyalty scheme which brought up the transaction right away. They’ve multiple sites across the country if you’re coming in from abroad like me it’s good to know you can hit up a place that’s likely to have everything you’re looking for... i first came across Blick in California looking for paint for a creative play workshop. They had a whole range of plant based non toxic acrylic style paints in amazing colours that were safe to body paint with. Ticked all my boxes!

I ordered a $200 gift card on 6/30 that was due to arrive between 7/5 and 7/10. I received notice that it had shipped on 7/8. When it didnt arrive on the 10th I contacted them and was told I had to wait till the 14th to file a claim.Unfortunately we are not able to track physical gift cards unless they are shipped with FedEx Fast 2 Day or Overnight services. Our standard shipping of a physical gift card is guaranteed in 7 to 9 business days via your local mail carrier.- something they dont tell you till after the package is shipped.THEN on the 14th they tell me Normally we are not able to issue refunds on gift cards. If it would be a satisfactory resolution, we can certainly re-issue the gift card as an e-gift card, which can be re-issued in as little as 30 minutes to 45 minutes during our normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM CST) to your email or an email of your choice. Please let us know how you would like to proceed. We look forward to your reply.This gift card was a time-sensitive gift. Re-issuing would not help and I demanded a refund. It took 3 days to receive notice that a refund had been issued and 2 days after that it has still not shown up in my account.What makes this worse is that I have had this issue repeatedly when it comes to shipping from Blick. It NEVER shows up near the date they estimate for delivery. They have given me close to $100 in $10 coupons to make up for the delays but have done nothing about the delay.To send out gift cards without tracking and then have the gall to say they dont refund gift cards - sent me over the top. I know I wont ever shop at Blick online again. But Im even wondering if I want to shop in their stores.And better yet, they wont let me submit this review - that they asked for.

Great selections and all, but, being in Center City, theres no place to park. I wish they had a ship to store for free option, because they can only stock so much (and its a LOT) but I didnt want to pay shipping for one specific drawing pad.

I recently redeemed a Christmas gift card at my local Dick Blick store to be acknowledged and helped by the friendly and knowledgeable retail staff. I am happy to end my year long boycott for poor management and inattentive or rude treatment by staff. I suspect that the store had a change in management. I still dont see something Blicks doesnt have. They have so much great stuff and a bunch of it, too. Parking is at a premium where they are located but that doesnt even matter. I have never gone there and been unable to find EXACTLY what I was looking for. If I am in town, I go in there, just because. And thats with my much loved and brand spanking new AC Moore right across the street from them, which is also irresistible.

The employees at Blick are well-mannered, they help you look for the supplies you need, can hold great conversations and their security is top notch. Youll never have a single problem with Blick!

What happened to this place? It used to be good. Recently visited. The store is a train wreck. There is a TON of missing products on the shelves but it seems there is a lot of replacement product high up beyond customer reach; the shelves are disorganized; the store layout is confusing and makes little sense; there is junk and trash all over the floor especially in the back of the store; and the staff are young and do not have an adequate knowledge of basic art supplies and techniques. And lastly, when you check out the staff piles all of your expensive brushes and paints all on one bag only to leave it to be ruined without the customer going in themselves to repackage it. Ive been going to this store for many years and havent been there in about a year and a half. This will be my last trip to this location because it was just that terrible. I will just order my supplies online and avoid another extremely frustrating experience. Get your act together Blick Philadelphia.

Was here with my girlfriend who is the active creator...very interesting and learned a few things I could do myself with materials.

Stopped in a few days ago for some first time painting supplies, had no idea what I needed. The first employee who helped me, Tricia, set me up with the paper that I would need quickly and explained to me why I’d need it. Very knowledgeable! And the pad I bought was half off! The second, Dane, was patient with me as I perused the paints and was very helpful, explaining which paints would be best for a beginner and helping me choose some brushes. The paints were also heavily discounted due to the sale they had running. I’ve been very happy with the utrekt paints that he suggested! The last employee, who rung me out, Jasper, signed me up for the blick card and made sure I saved even more money on my purchase. He was very friendly. The store is expansive and has a lot of good supplies, but those could be found elsewhere. What was unique and will keep me coming back was the wonderful staff. I’ve always been an AC Moore regular when it came to crafts and scrapbooking, but now that they’re closing down, the great service I received at blick has definitely locked them down as my new art location.

Love this store to death but this past week some of the employees were very noticeably not on point. Been coming to this store since it first opened and this is the first time I EVER felt uncomfortable. I hope the managers can tell the workers please to leave their personal problems or stress behind. They were audible in their bad customer service...well one actually. Even tho it was only one that messed up my morning. Why should I get a bad mood thrown at me when I was being super nice? :-( Also, there was no courtesy to roll my paper, so I had to go to another employee. I should not have to do that. Also, I encountered a few employees this week and today not knowing the sales and kept questioning me. I hope you can inform everyone about sales so it wont cause a hassle at the register. I dont know what was going on of this third week of June 2015, but everyone seemed either pissy, out of it, or plain unhelpful. Shout out to the HELPFUL and considerate workers that did help me tho!
