This is a great store and Andrew was an absolute delight. He was very helpful in giving me the information I requested about a drafting table and even helped me disassemble it and pack it into my car. The other gentleman working (Im sorry, I forgot to ask his name.) who rang me up was also very kind and helpful. This was a fantastic experience. I also have had similarly good experiences at both of the Charleston SC locations. If you have an Artist & Craftsman in your area, you should absolutely use it.

I stopped in earlier today for a few supplies for a diy project. They had everything that I needed and several things that weren’t originally on my list. There’s a 15% educator’s discount as well. I happened to forget one of the items that I purchased at the counter and the cashier tracked me down at the bus stop to return it to me. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a wonderful art store. The employees are friendly and give good advice. They have a variety of materials and tools for your next masterpiece. Cute little section with cards, socks, kids toys, etc. It’s tucked back and easy to miss on the street but definitely worth checking out! Way better than the big box craft stores. Good prices and quality selection.

I wish I knew this place existed sooner but I’m so glad I did a Google search. Like most without having any work right now I wanted to learn to draw so I needed a sketchbook and pencils. Wanda was so nice and so friendly she spent a lot of time helping me pick out a pencil and educating me on the different types. My background is photography so this was all very new to me! I will definitely be going back for more art supplies!

My daughter is a professional artist who lives in the neighborhood of Germantown. So she normally has to travel a distance to get good quality art supplies. I told her about a new art store that opened in Chestnut Hill and she decided to check it out. When she came out of Artist & Craftsman the smile on her face was so big she started laughing! She was so happy and impressed with the store...this is now her go to supply store.

First time stopping in today, looking for craft stuff for a imaginative 5 year old. Had everything and more we were looking for, prices were great and staff was super friendly and helpful, only walked though a small section of the store and cant wait to go back and check the rest out!

I discovered this shop after the QUARANTINE and I could no longer get to a Micheals or any other large store. I also DIDNT want to order online. Just put in your handmade decorated mask and get to the Hill, 😋. You can walk around and really SEE products for yourself to get EXACTLY what you want. ITS WONDERFUL! Lots of material variety, kits, supplies for sculpture/drawing/ painting/framing/stickers/beads/glitter/ posterboard/fabric dye/journaling/ jewelry/scrapbooking/glitter....and reasonable prices. Feels like a mom and pop store (in a good way)! The staff is courteous and helpful and I never feel like I am being stalked in the store.

Mask nazis. The store must be doing well, despite the lockdown, if its employees can turn away customers who cant wear masks. Its a shame, because I was prepared to spend some good money there.

This is an absolutely wonderful place! They have wayyy more than art supplies (but their art supplies are extensive.) If you go there to browse around, I guarantee you wont be able to tear yourself away in less than an hour. Kids and adults both love it. The selection of old-fashioned toys is so much fun. The whole store is. And staff is very helpful. I highly recommend this store.

Truley enjoyed wandering the aisles of this art store. Totally expected the serious artist supplies, ie canvass, paints etc. Was surprised by the supply of children kits and the section of retro toys. I was there for hand lettering supplies and they had an extensive amount of various type pens.

I just found this place today. Awesome location Chestnut Hill. I usually drive to Center City to pickup Angelus leather paints.They also carry the leather dyes too. So, this was a great find. Proper artist supplies, paper(s), canvas, drafting/drawing supplies,oil acylics,water paints. Several types of paint pens they even have Posco pens with different size tips! They carry supplies for different textile crafts too! Tyedye, printing, some knitting and leather crafts. Section of crafts to do with children. This is not like a box store. No flowers or potpourri. Great choices for expert and novices. Portfolios and archival storage too!l Lots of supplies and then some. I cant believe I just found this place today with a web search. Also, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.FYI : its set back off the street between two buildings. So, you may drive past it--I did.

This is an artists dream store! Everything and anything you could want. Things you didnt even know existed! I go there for Angelus leather paints. They have an excellect color selection. The staff are great and are really helpful if you have any questions. It is recessed back from the street, so if you have pulled up at the address and cant find the place, rest assured, it is there between two other buildings tucked back in its courtyard nook!

I dont typically write reviews, but Im very impressed by Artist & Craftsman in Chestnut Hill. They have a huge selection of different craft materials, and often have lower prices than Blick or AC Moore on popular products. Very convenient location, and you will never want to leave once you go in as there are so many interesting things to look at. The staff is wonderful and helpful, but do not hover over you as with many other stores.

The Nicest people work there. This is my second painting class this year; when you are a pre-beginning painter and have to purchase supplies, you think it will be so easy! Um, I didnt know there were different grades of paints and billions of brushes to select from. I was overwhelmed and if it wasnt for the bst staff ever, I would have ready bought a crayola watercolor paint box.Not only did the staff help me get all of supplies, they were very cost conscious. This was much appreciated as a pre-beginner!. I believe that all of the staff are artists; regardless, they are extremely knowledgeable . They are just the nicest people! Plus students get 10% off!
