Sandaga is the best place in the city for African clothing for the whole family. Jewelry, wall art, fabrics and even hats. The owner is a master at his craft. This is definitely a shop to support.

Very cute little shop with a variety of African items for sale ranging from fabric to jewelry to wood carvings. The owner is very nice and helpful. I got some wax fabric for $5/yard for a project I am working on. He was nice enough to let me take it to my car to make sure it was large enough for what I was doing before purchasing. His items seem to be very good quality and he is a tailor as well. . I know several people who have had clothing made by him. A friend of mine had matching Kwanzaa outfits made for she and her son. Definitely check him out and support this small, black-owned business

Sandaga professes to be a tailor but he truly is not. I recently was referred by a friend to have my ( mother of the bride) wedding gown made by Mr Sandaga. I took the material to him in April 2017 to have the dress ready for Sept, 2017. At the end of July I returned to the shop for my second fitting. Adjustments were noted and I was to pick up my dress one week before the wedding date. When I arrived to pick up the dress I did try it on so I paid for my dress and left. Later on at home I looked at the dress and discovered shoddy work on the zipper and the skirt seam, also the edges inside were not stitched to prevent the material from unraveling and the material was already unraveling. Not a tailor at all.
