Love this place a lot! The storekeeper was so nice and helpful. Everything is so clean and you’ll find all you’re looking for. Love the feel it brings me.

The goods seem to be okay, but the clerk didnt wear a mask. They have sign saying Masks required but the employees werent wearing masks...even when he came up front to check out my items. This encounter left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially with everything going on with Covid, Im hesitant about going back. Id rather spend my money where it seems like people care about the health of their customers.

Looked like it had good stuff but was supposed to open at 9 and I waited there until 10 before I gave up. Phone number also didn’t work.

Just found a strip of African heaven on Baltimore avenue. You need it, they have it! They even had goat meat and yam. Happy to know of a market that is close to me.

These guys are literally the best! While attending college in the Philadelphia area, I remember once calling them to inquire about their product and what they had in stock. They were very nice on the phone and when I eventually visited in person, in typical Nigerian fashion the owner was very welcoming and personal. He told me of how impressed he was that I actually traveled the significant distance (for a car-less college student at that time) to come buy from him, and he gave me a bunch of extra free stuff. He was very helpful and cordial and his products were of very high quality (they tasted fresh!). Fast forward 4 years; I now work somewhere in the mid-west and Im currently on the quest to find a Nigerian store in my area to shop from (as I have recently decided to make more Nigerian dishes) and these guys (as well as the amazing experience I had with them) crossed my mind. I hope I can find a store like this, and with people this hospitable where I currently live. In fact, I have made up my mind to shop at the Nigerian African Food Market any time I find myself in the Philadelphia area for work or pleasure! Thats how awesome these guys are, and I barely write reviews!

Drove over an hour here just to find out they’re closed. This is the 2nd time this month I’ve driven from the greater northeast during business hours to find them closed. It’s 5:51pm and their hours say they’re open until 10pm. Beyond unprofessional & a HUGE inconvenience. Also, this past weekend while In the area I called first to make sure they were open the gentleman answers the phone and I mentioned I just wanted to make sure they were open before heading over and despite it only being 7pm he said oh we’re about to close soon, Despite business hours saying 9pm that day. I mentioned I’m only 10 minutes away and asked if they could possibly wait since I live pretty far. He hangs up on me, and then ignores my calls after calling back. I called several times before coming today but got no answer, but I took a chance thinking there’s no way they’d be closed this early on a weekday. Please don’t waste your time. They are absolutely horrible!!!

Prices needs to be marked on products. Makes it hard for an individual to work with budget. Need More varieties. Staff can be helpful. Overall good place to get the basics

Very friendly owner and staff. Most of the items are reasonably priced given the distance traveled to acquire them. Highly recommended.

Ive been going to this food market for the past 3 years now and up till now the only reason why I kept going despite the so-so service was because they do have some things I havent found elsewhere but with the kind of service and the mediocre quality of the produce I got last time I went there Im officially done and on the hunt for a new African market.
