Really friendly staff and a great stock of festool products. This was my first time here and the staff took their time answering my questions and helped make sure I got what I needed.
I have bought a lot of Fetools from these guys to use on my restoration projects, from vacuums, sanders, replacement parts and sandpaper. They have the widest selection of tools and the most sandpaper around! Pretty sure its all family owned and operated. The whole store is pretty laid back and they dont mind taking time to help you. Its not like most shops/stores its old school and they actually put effort into helping their customers. Fred is a tall glass of cool clear water in a desert of marine hardware retailers. My story is this:Freds company had labled the Ray Marine Electronics with their sticker on our boat that we bought 6 months ago so when I had an issue I called him.I was 100 miles from any significant town at the bottom of Baranof Island. I used the community sat phone at Port Alexander and got a hold of Fred about my Ray Marine Auto pilot remote control that had quit working. Fred quickly looked in his records and informed me that if I sent it to him this month that he could get it fixed under warranty (three year warranty).I then floated the idea of installing a hard wired 2nd Auto pilot control head in the back of our troller where I work. He informed me that it was possible and easy and that he could send me exactly what I needed to get the job done. He asked me to tell him the soft ware version of the 1st control head and offered to flash the new one back to the same version so compatibility would not be an issue. he agreed to send it to Sitka and have it brought out to the fishing grounds on a tender for me....This all sounded good so...I went back to fishing ..incommunicado for many days...when I did get back to cell service I had a message from Fred saying Dave, I have had an issue returning the new head to the ancient software version you are running...(My heart sank as I really need this!)...then the message said...so I sent you 2 new heads with the latest software version...just send me back your old head and your broken remote and will get it all credited appropriately. I have included a return shipping label for you so you can just load it in the same box and send them back to meWow...can you imagine someone doing business with a person like Fred who really takes good care of his customers. Fred is beyond helpful on the phone and just great.Fred Rocks...I feel like I have made a new friend. Thanks Fred!
