I love this store. The employee are so nice

I really try to support local stores and thats why I chose to purchase a gift for my wife here. Sadly, the service I received both when I purchased the gift and later when I had to return it was very lacking. Even though the gift was of modest cost they only offered store credit for the return. Regrettably, I will spend the extra time and drive down to Crate & Barrel in the future.

I bought metal salad servers and after a couple of months of use, the “gold” began peeling away. I took them back, assuming they would at the least give me store credit. Instead, I was told I needed a receipt, and their policy was 30 days, etc. Who keeps a receipt for salad servers? When I protested, I was told to go to the manufacturer! They have lost a customer....

I am new to Petaluma and find this a wonderful community asset. The people are kind and helpful.Merchandising is lovely. And if they don’t have it, you don’t need it—-but I’m sure they DO have it.

Lovely home, kitchen, design, gift store. Fine quality, great variety and all beautifully displayed. They seemed to have every kind of cookie cutter imaginable.

Great personal service at a lovely shop that carries pretty much anything you want or need from cookware to bakeware to Rancho Gordo beans to cookbooks, gadgets and tableware. A must visit when I’m in the Bay Area and by phone when I’m not

Would not give me cash bach for a perfectly good item that I returned. I got store credit only. So I have to shop there again or throw away $30.00.

So many cooking supplies! Love this place even if it is a little pricey. I can always count on them to have a last minute gadget when in a cooking pinch!

I cant say Im often followed around as though I were a shoplifter, middle aged and well heeled guy that I am, but the VERY unfriendly suspicious lady in this place did exactly that. It was really OFF putting and I wont be back. Thats what we have Amazon for.

I too am having the same experience as the user above me. I was in the market for a Nespresso maker for my girlfriend for Christmas. While i was there I asked several times about the return policy if she didnt want it or it wasnt the one she wanted. The store owner and 2 other ladies said i could return the product for a refund as long as i had the receipt. Well they talked me out of the machine i really wanted, saying the one i wanted was in inferior product (which was a more expensive Nespresso machine) and i bought the product. Christmas came (2012) and it wasnt the one my GF wanted so we went to go return it and they said no returns, only in store credit. Um, NO. this was an expensive machine and we dont want it. If i would have known that i would have purchased it at a more reputable place like Sur la Table in Santa Rosa where you can return items! Im still fighting this with the store owners for my money back. Id stay away at all costs for any item worth more then $5. I tried to do a good thing and buy local from an independent shop, but with service like this i plan to never go back, and i plan to spread the word to EVERYONE I know. STAY AWAY! Avoid this place like the plague.PS, i just want to point out the first user review, notice the last name, and the store name. Coincidence?
