I love this place. A friend who is a professional baker turned me on to them. I have been baking bread for the last 7 years or so, and I am not the best at sourdough because I sometimes lack patience. But when I use this flour, my bread is always at least edible, if not delicious. Plus I like that they are local (ish, to me) and organic and I think they must be sustainable. Plus the flour is amazing. When I order for delivery to my house, it is still less per pound than buying bulk flour from a natural foods store. Thank you Central Milling Co! I love you guys!!!

Ive been purchasing from Central Milling Co for a year now, and Ive had nothing but great experiences. Theyll always have what you need, the quality is great and consistent with the best price. There was a hiccup with the online processing on my last order, and they still made sure I got what I needed. (Thanks Jim!) I couldnt have asked for better customer service. Well worth the 6.5 hour drive from LA

Screaming deals on excellent flours. I used to get regular Artisan Bakers Craft and regular AP, but I recently branched out into Craft Special and the Beehive AP (malted versions), and I have much better results with my SD. Better rises and faster fermentation. I find I have to feed my starters more often, tho b/c they run out of food faster w/ the added malt. The Type 00 is fantastic for pizza. I also get 5lb bags of various grinds or ww so I try to find my perfect loaf. So many options I cant get anywhere locally. Their processing to delivery time is ridiculously fast. Id say order date to delivery is about 4 or 5 days which is plenty fast for me. Shipping can be spendy, but its heavy stuff so I dont really care; Its absolutely worth it for the quality and selection. A pretty decent website too. Cant recommend them enough!

We love buying their flour and have now gotten our friends and family hooked as well!Though we live in Oakland, were still very grateful to have access to local high quality flour. Definitely worth the drive.

Holy fack, the flour here makes gorgeous bread

I paid $40 for a lot of flour to be shipped to my house. Unlike every other company that fulfills online orders, Central Milling did not provide notification when the package is shipped nor any tracking information, even though it is available through FedEx. Two weeks later I reached out via email to inquire and am told that the package was already delivered. I suspect it was stolen off of my porch, as it likely sat there for up to 24 hours without my knowledge. Central Milling refused to refund me and advised me to file a claim with FedEx. I believe this loss is Central Millings responsibility—not mine—since they didnt notify me that the package was sent nor a means to track it.I tend to find negative reviews about customer service as whiny and not all that fair—everyone has a bad day and such reviews often tend to be about a small perceived slight. However, in this case, Im out $40 with no flour, which Central Milling could have avoided by providing a service that is standard practice for all online orders. I just want others to be aware and I advise ordering flour online at another vendor.

Recently got into baking sourdough breads. Discovered this mill where I can get organic flour of all sorts. Gonna make a regular trip up here from San Rafael to get my flour.
