Came in to get my daughter a pair of converse for her birthday we asked the person “helping” us if she could be sized 1st she told us her sizer was “way off” (didn’t size her at any point here or after) and asked what size she wore before. I explained that she had been wearing slides most the summer so we weren’t sure, then asked what size the slides were. I genuinely overlooked the size stamped in the top of the slide and this person didn’t seem to happy to have to come around the counter to assist us. Reluctantly did so took the slide and said 5, converse doesn’t make youth 5s ..I asked what size would that be the same as in a woman’s size they weren’t sure and said the smallest women’s size they had was a 7. I asked to try those and they said I’m helping another customer so we will have to wait (the person they were helping now had left us to do so, fine I guess)While they’re helping them a very nice different employee came over. I again explained and was questioning sizing of child/women she was spot on and brought us out a size to try and was very kind in helping my daughter, meanwhile the person who we had originally dealt with was done and came back to us brought us the next shoe to try on and tossed the shoe on the ground at my daughters feet, instead of handing it to her maybe?? Just an idea. It fit was exactly what we needed thanks to the other girl!Winter began to ring us out and was extremely rude, when it came time to hand me my bag and receipt she was happy this time to come around the counter to hand it to my daughter and not myself. Honestly if I hadn’t been my daughter’s birthday gift I would not have made the purchase at all, probably would have asked for a refund at this point because of the bloody attitude dripping off winter.I’m really not sure how to fairly rate if I was going off my past 20+ years of being a return customer for myself and my children I’d have given 5 stars up to this date. If I was rating the other girl who really was amazing I’d also give a five. I am rating winter and her service and help I’d go zero because we would have honestly left without any shoes she just kept giving us dead ends instead of helping to answer our questions to come to a solution. The only reason we left with shoes was because of the other girl working. *im so sorry I didn’t catch your name!*I wish I had caught the other girls name she was an absolute delight and very happy to help us trouble shoot from children’s size to adult size. Winter was a bloody nightmare and I will not be returning to shop here which has been a birthday tradition for all my children for 14 years. Other girl, you go!! You rock, you’re super awesome and your customer service is spot on. I have recruited people like you for my business for the last 8 years. I dont like that they bring 4 different pair of shoes even though I asked for one. Like I just wanted the one I pointed out not several others that dont even go with what I like. Another thing is pushing other products on me is annoying, I can see you guys have socks and shirts and stuff. I just dont want them. The prices are high prices. Other stores have fair prices it deals. I wouldnt shop at any jouneys unless its online just to ensure you get what you want and dont have to worry about trying to be upselled.
I went in unsure of what I wanted and a person named winter helped me out. They were so helpful and also payed attention to my style and recommended a pair of shoes to me based on that. I did end up buying them and also bought a second pair to go with. They also recommended me the shoe spray that protects vans from damage and stains and totally got me to buy it. Very good sales person and super friendly. Good asset to the company because it makes me want to come back to that specific location again just for the great customer service. The employees are sweet and helpful! I got a pair of Vans and needed to exchange them. The process was painless lol. Also was able to have my baby boy fitted for his first pair of Vans in this store! ❤
Good store. however the pair of shoes my daughter wanted had a pen mark on the toe. they tried to take it off but it faded the color of the shoe slightly. of course that was the only pair like it. she had to get a dif pair. they should keep more in stock
Honestly terrible. I went in, found some lovely Vans, and asked for them to pull the other shoe from the back since the right size was on display. The male worker I was helped by (who came off as very rude and uninterested) went to search for the shoe (for ~20 min) and claimed that they didn’t have the other shoe. He consulted his manager, who assured him there was no twin. The one display shoe was the only shoe they had—no left shoe. I felt upset and annoyed (why would you have just a singular shoe?) and left the store. About an hour after shopping around I decided to go back to Journey’s to ask if I could order the shoe online. When I got to the store, I was approached by a different person (short, female worker) and asked if she could give another look in the back. As she went into the back, I was approached by the worker who had previously “helped” me and told him I was interested in ordering, but asked someone to look again. He pulled his manager to speak to me and the manager told me the shoe on display was the only shoe they had in that size. As the manager was explaining this to me, the female worker interrupted and had the twin shoe after looking for ~10 min. The manager immediately glared at the female worker as I asked them to wrap it up so I could buy it. The manager uttered through clenched teeth, “Great,” and muttered to the worker “let’s take the sticker off the bottom,” and winked to her. I’m not sure what the wink meant but I strongly feel they were coming up with some excuse to not sell me the shoe (the manager/male worker wanted to buy them later). They easily could have told me that the shoe was on hold or something if that was the case, but it was obvious they lied to me and were deceptive for some reason. Aside from this incident, workers have gotten progressively worse through the years and have grown less helpful, interested, invested, and knowledgeable. Overall disappointed.
I was shopping with my son who is 17 and my daughter who is 15..we were looking around at a few items we wanted to see. My son asked a guy that worked there if he could see a burgundy gym shoe that matched his school colors. The guy came back with several shoes in different sizes but hesitated to allow my son to try them on. He stood back and asked my son are you here alone my son said no i came with my mom, you just watched us walk in. I came over and asked what the problem was..The guy tried to play dumb but i knew what he meant. There were other people shopping that were not asked that. All black people are not thieves. My children wanted the shoes they picked out so i purchased them ($300). I didnt want them to feel like we had to act like him. I was embarrassed and humiliated as people stared at us. I will never go there again.
I ordered shoes on a Saturday and paid for express shipping and did not receive them on Monday like I was suppose to I called the customer service line and they were not helpful and did not put any efforts in making sure that my order was received on the date it was suppose to. I will never order anything from journeys again!!!!
