Customer service is horrible. Stood in line for 10minutes to buy a set of strings while one of the workers spoke on the phone and another worker filled out paperwork for something else. Be better to buy something musical at a smaller shop

I loved this Guitar Center! The workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you, Tom & Patrick! I got the strings replaced on my Yamaha and walked out with this beautiful Taylor!! These workers were troopers. They listened to me play and sing, plus they were very encouraging! (Even the adorable guy with the bowtie on, but I didnt catch his name) They were all so sweet!If you are looking for knowledgeable workers, definitely check out this GC! Very efficient place!

Customer service was great! This time I went in for headphones and was excited when the staff members were eager to talk guitars and drums with me. They were knowledgeable and went the extra mile to help. Its the only Guitar Center in my area and I am 100% good with that!

Best Guitar Center experience Ive ever had. Had about 3 different employees ask me if i was finding everything I needed. And had a guy clean and tune bass for me before I played it. They had a mask for me to wear which is nice that GC cares about their customers. And I ended up walking out with a Beautiful new bass guitar and spent nearly $1,000 total. Excellent customer service with very nice and professional employees. Will be back! Thanks !!

Great selection on most gear even with everything going on. Alex was super helpful with pointing out pros and cons and personal preference with different items. No pressure to buy the highest price items in the category. Good experiences every time Ive been in.

Most Guitar Center locations are staffed by musicians who have done their time on the stage or in the studio or by techs who have done time behind a console or amp rack. Not here. These pips don’t know a G string from a g-string. Pompous, with attitudes unsupported by experience. On top of all this they have no consideration for personal needs. Keep in mind that not everyone not wearing a mask is being a jerk. Some have medical reasons for not wearing them.If you are serious about gear, avoid the Pensacola location.

I love the new (new to us) Guitar Center. The stock took some time to build. I feel like Kenny (met him a couple times) has gotten into the swing of what the immediate area demands as far as stock goes, and it took some time for him to get a good feel for what people wanted to see. Every time I go its getting better. All the guys there are always extremely helpful, and I never leave empty-handed.

So brought a neck in and asked for a resize on the tuning holes to install a set of sperzel locking and the tech practically destroyed my brand new Japanese maple neck. Didn’t use a drill press, used a hand router to drill the set pins, and they’re not even close to aligned. I felt as if the tech was not provided the proper tools

I came in as a complete novice who had never held a guitar much less played one. I had the pleasure of working with Kenny who explained everything to me in plain English and set me up with everything I needed to get started. He didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need nor did he try and get me to buy anything expensive that was unnecessary for a beginner. He runs a very clean store with really nice people who are more than willing to help. I couldnt have been happier and a 5 star rating is certainly warranted!

Nice folks but I remember Guitar Center way back in the early and mid 90s so much more celection then now you go into the acoustic room only one 12 string acoustic Ibanez for $299 ? And any Taylor guitar over $1300 is locked down 😥 so disappointing the way things have changed sad so sad.

I made a trip from Mobile, Al to pick up a pedal. I called ahead to make sure it was in stock. When I arrived the manager couldnt sell me the pedal because it was on police hold, information that couldve been shared with me when I called beforehand. Thanks for wasting my time and gas.

Wasted time going here today, tried to make a return and upgrade and spend more money. I was asked if I had a tax exempt form, told salesperson I had the picture on my phone, he advised to send to his email, which we did and stood in line and waited to check out only to be told we needed a pdf or hardcopy. So I requested refund, went to BLUE ANGEL and spent $500 and received quality service and did not get a hassle about tax form as they had it on file. I called BLUE ANGEL from the parking lot of Guitar Center and they had the order on the counter ready to check out, was in and out less than 5 minutes.So thank you BLUE ANGEL for your outstanding customer service. Hate I wasted my time thinking Guitar Center, wanted to make some money today.

Terrible service, terrible knowledge, uncomfortable atmosphere and rude. Went in to buy an acoustic and the guy didn’t know much about them. The guy that worked there stood over my uncle and I while we tested one and wouldn’t give us space. We ended up talking with a guy that was also in there hoping to buy a guitar and he left prior to us. I decided to check out blue angels music off Pace Blvd and we saw the same guy in there. Needless to say, we both bought guitars from blue angels and will not be back at guitar center, or at least this one!

Ive been looking into making the switch from guitar to violin for years, but never made the change. This afternoon I went to Guitar Center to see what they had in stock. While the store only keep one model in stock, Kel immediately informed me that they could order one to the store if I wanted a different model. I decided to go with the one in stock due to impatience, but the staff is very friendly, multiple team members were quick to offer help as I looked around, and made what had been a years long internal struggle an easy, painless process

The employees seemed super nice and the store was clean.I came by here on Father’s Day to buy an acoustic guitar, but there were people in the acoustic section playing/testing. There’s a 2 person maximum in the room due to COVID-19. I had my toddler with me and couldn’t wait around to go in.

Masks required to enter store!! I had my 2 small kids with me and we did not have masks. At first I was upset but then The store employee was able to grab the things I needed and take my payment without me having to go inside. Overall a great experience.

I used to love Guitar Center in Pensacola. Customer service was terrific, selection was great, and I enjoyed shopping there. I was excited to see it come back after it closed a few years ago. The selection is still great, and the store looks incredible, but the customer service is severely lacking.No one spoke to me the whole time I was there, which is fine, but still not typical of a place like Guitar Center. I went to check out and there were about four employees standing around talking. I had to get the attention of one of them so I could check out. The cashier (His name was Clark according to the receipt) was very cold, and acted like the whole process of ringing up my purchase was a major inconvenience for him. He asked me for my name, which I told him I preferred not to provide since I typically elect not to share personal information when I make purchases, and he passive aggressively slammed on the keyboard before informing me Well I have to put something. Furthermore, when I was putting my credit card in the reader to pay, without saying anything, he walked away from the counter to talk to another customer, while there were three people standing behind him who could have done it since he was in the middle of checking me out. I had to flag him down and get his attention to get a receipt. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but still. This is not a way to treat paying customers. It shows a lack of professionalism and respect for customers. I will probably utilize other music stores like Leitz Music or Blues Angel from now on.

Two poor customer service events. I was excited to see Guitar Center opening up in Pensacola since Ive enjoyed shopping at locations in other states. My son wanted a specific guitar for Christmas and I knew that it wasnt one that would typically be stocked in the store. I went in to the Pensacola location hoping to talk to someone about shipping to the store and to find out if there might be any deals close to Christmas.Four salesmen were standing around talking at a display toward the back of the store. The one person who acknowledged my existence was helping another customer and just pointed to the front of the store at a 1 page flyer and said if it is on sale, it will be on the flyer. The flyer was a printed copy of their web page. I looked around for a few minutes hoping to find someone else who might be willing to help, one salesman started to talk to me, realized I wasnt who he was looking for and walked away.My son, the avid musician, received a rude response from the manager when he asked about a job at the store.In contrast. I sent an email to Sweetwater to ask about a military discount and received a phone call from a courteous salesman who provided an ample discount and free shipping. The company has a pro quality check and tune the guitar before shipping and sends photographs of the instrument prior to shipping. The guitar arrived in perfect condition and was even pretty much still in tune. I will choose Sweetwater over Guitar Center from now on.

I ordered a guitar on march 30th that said in stock and ready to ship and here we are 13 days later still being told maybe in a few more days. This was after many phone calls, chats, and messages including a phone call on the 9th where I was told the guitar was literally on a truck to ups as we speak and Id get a tracking number via email that night. Only to call today (2days later) to check on the tracking number to find that was a lie also. Finally cancelled and bought somewhere else. It will be here Wednesday. :)

Edit: tried a second time and service was better. Ended up buying a classical guitar on impulse with an acoustic 40w amp. It was close to closing timeso I didnt camp out and try the Taylors. Adding one star back. Selection is still limited and mostly entry level.Spent over 20 minutes in the store. Wanted to get a mid level acoustic for my daughter and another Taylor for myself. Not one hello, nod of the head or even eye contact from employees. Hard to believe they are on commission, not very hungry for a sale. Store is very clean, though much smaller than typical GCs. Selection was all entry level for the most part. Im interested in an 814CE. I have had a 614CE for years but wanted something more traditional sounding than the maple of the 614. Lots of empty guitars hooks, either replenishment is lacking, or lots of guitars are in the back room. Had someone said hello, I would have gladly ordered the Taylor, and brought my daughter back to play the Luna, then order the nicer Moon Flower version. Off to check another local shop before Im forced to go online. Prefer to keep my money local as possible.

I went there because their website said they had several brands onhand which their competitor did not. Their selection was terrible, and I had trouble holding the attention of a salesperson. When finally I did pin one down, it took over a half hour to get them to order an instrument off their own online site. The salesman said to expect a week for delivery. I asked that it be delivered to the store, so they could check it for defects and set it up. The receipt said to expect 7-10 days. Its been 10 days, and its still not at the store. I expect another day after it finally arrives, for set up; but wouldnt be surprised if it takes a week. Avoid them, ever after.

If youre looking to buy any kind of music equipment this is the place you want to look. Not only do they have a ton of different products to choose from, you can actually try out and play most of them right there in the store before paying. Its really a blast being able to go around and test out different instruments you had always wanted to try. I will say that the prices are pretty steep on most everything in the store, but they are willing to negotiate or match another stores price. Definitely the place you want to be if you like music, you just have to make sure your wallet is pretty thick.
