They have a great selection of items but good luck getting someone to help you if their buddies are in there. I waited for someone to help me for 30 minutes before I finally decided to take my business elsewhere.

Nichols Outfitters does not look very big from the outside when we pulled up.. I was surprised to see they carried a great variety of things. Customer service was great and the guy behind the gun counter was very helpful in explaining the difference between the various guns but did not oressure us to make a purchase. I will definitely come back to Nichols Outfitters in the future for purchases of camping equipment and for others things we may need in the future

First visit...impressive place. They have a little bit of everything. Certain firearms are unusually high, but due to the pandemic situation, who hasnt raised their prices some...plenty of tactical style accessories and a decent variety of calibers in firearms. I didnt make a purchase this time, but something did catch my eye...Ill revisit here definitely.

Never been into the store before and was looking to purchase a Sig AR all tricked out and some bulk ammo. Spent 45 minutes in the store and NO ONE even asked if I needed any help! I was only looking to spend about 3k dollars so I guess the have all the business they need. They wont ever get mine or anybody I talk to. Good luck boys and I guess the concrete business can support you when all your business evaporates. Save your time and spend your money with people who want your business. They are terrible .

Wanted a Yakima roof basket for the top of my Land Cruiser and saw on Yakima’s website that Nichols was a dealer. Called up there and spoke with Pat who said they actually had the exact one I was looking for in stock.Drove out there (which is about a 35-40 minute drive for me) and Zach was up behind the desk when I got there. At first we couldn’t find it and thought it might not have shown up.While he was still looking for the rack I also was looking at Helinox gear. Couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for there either. Once again I told Zach and he was on the hunt. Sure enough a few minutes later and good ole Zach has come back with the exact Helinox parts I was looking for AND found the Yakima! All of that alone right there is worth a 5 star review. He went out of his way to help me find exactly what I was looking for.But then they decided to turn it up a notch, which is why if I could give a 6 star review I would. Zach and Pat then got to work and installed the rack right then and there for me! Took them hardly no time and it’s completely transformed the usability and the look of my LC!I’ve lived in the Birmingham area my entire life and I can’t think of another business that I’ve been to that went that far above and beyond to help a guy out on a random Wednesday. They’ve just earned themselves a customer for life.If you need anything outdoor related go up there and see Zach. I’d guarantee you’ll leave happy!

Very nice gentleman helped me find what I needed. I went in for ammo and left with ammo and sleeve for my pistol.

They are under investigation by the ATF and have my NFA transfer frozen because they messed up. I am now double the time for my NFA transfer. The staff was always stuck up every time I have been there and argued with me saying you couldnt thread a barrel on a ruger 10/22. They are unapologetic about their mistakes that they got caught with by the ATF and that is causing me to wait longer on my transfer. I WILL NOT be doing any more business with Nichols Outfitters once I eventually receive my transfer. Spend your time and money elsewhere you owe it to yourself.

I left a fairly poor review of this store over a year ago and have recently made another trip looking for ammunition, firearms accessories and just looking for an overall pleasant shopping experience. Staff have seemed to changed and I’m very pleased to say it’s greatly for the better. I like what they do and what they have to offer the community. Fantastic CS, even remotely! I placed an order over the phone and there was an issue with the product I received. Parker fixed the problem immediately and shipped the part to me free-of-charge. I stopped here on the Saturday following Thanksgiving to buy a new firearm. I literally drove four hours to buy this rifle and I get there at 11:30 and they were closed. I suppose I should have called first. Who the hell closes on Black Friday weekend??? I’ll probably drive back as soon as I verify they are open for business.I will update accordingly.

Called to see if they had the trijicon hd xr night sights for my glock 19. I was told they had 4 sets in stock so I decided to make the 1 hour drive to go get them installed. The gun selection was impressive but the customer service was not.. I stood at the counter patiently for about 20 minutes before someone actually spoke to me, I told them the exact sights I had called about and the employee proceeded to hand me sights for a larger frame glock(10mm-45acp) and walked off for another 20 minutes to continue talking to someone trying to make a larger purchase(AR-15 w/ optics) when I was finally able to get a younger employees attention I told him the sights were not for my model and he responded saying “ we can make them work” I was shocked by this unprofessional reply and immediately walked out the door. If you’re looking for a quality gun store with great customer service and a highly qualified gunsmith I would go to Marks Outdoor Sports in Vestavia!

Nicola bow shop guys are great, very helpful and knowledgeable. I took in a bow that I didn’t even buy there to get tuned and they had it down in about 10 minutes. They didn’t give me the run around like the other place up in vestavia just because I was wasn’t shooting the most expensive bow they have in the shop. Great service and people they have my business. Pass by this place every day for work, and never knew they had so much inventory. I was looking for a specific firearm for several months and was told to give Nichols a call. The guys at the firearms counter knew exactly what I was looking for and had it in stock. Drove up there an hour later and was surprised to see walls full of inventory. From firearms to everything else outdoor, they have it. I was in and out in 30 minutes, will definitely be back for future purchases!

Amazing service! If you like long range shooting Parker is the man to talk to. I have been to Simmons and marks outdoors and no one gave me the time and patience that Parker did. He helped me pick out a Begara rifle and a very nice scope and carefully set it all up for me explaining everything step by step. He picked out the ammo for me and even printed out a ballistic chart on his computer. He even met me on the range and helped me sight the rifle in free of charge. I don’t know of any other store that would go above and beyond like this! I will definitely be buying all of my guns at Nichols outfitters from now on. No other store even comes close! They are the friendliest most approachable and knowledgeable sales staff I have ever seen. I took my new rifle out and was able to put 5 rounds in the bullseye at 600 yards!! I could not have done this without Parker and Nichols outfitters help!

It a little hard to find if you are unfamiliar with the area. If you take exit 242 South turn left back across I 65 take your next right just before Chevron. Nicholas Outfitters is located approximately 2 blocks on the right in a tan metal building. They have a huge selection of any type of pistol, shotgun, rifles, archery and all your outdoor needs. The pistols and rifles are located on the second floor. Staff was also very nice.

I called prior to coming out here to check out what they had available. I needed a LH holster, which is why I called in the first place. The gentleman that answered, told me I had lots to chose from, but no LH holsters available. Wasted my time and drive down.
