Phil was very pleasant to work with when we bought our bed. He made us feel right at home. Not to mention, everyone at the Matress Doctor was so flexible with our ever changing schedule to be able to deliver the bed.
We had a great experience working with Phil at The Mattress Doctor in Pekin! We shopped around and price was terrific, but not the only factor determining where we spent our money. Phil knows what hes doing and coached us to the best setup for our needs. We ended up with a great bed and some awesome new pillows too! My husband is a cancer survivor. As a result, he has had several medical issues over the past several years and had been using a medical type bed that was given to us when he was first diagnosed. The bed included a adjustable, electronic base that would lift his head and feet similar to the platform bases they sell today.Because these platforms are very expensive, I only wanted to replace the mattress, which was old, hard and not very comfortable. However, I had a problem with the size of my husband’s platform. It was built to only fit an extra long, full size mattress. This is an irregular size mattress is not easy to find in stores. I was skeptical about ordering just any mattress I could find online, so I turned to the Mattress Doctor for some guidance.I contacted the owner and told him about my concerns and asked if he could help me. He was so helpful! After asking me some questions about my husband’s size, sleep and mattress preferences, the owner sent me some information about a few quality mattresses that he highly recommended. My husband and I reviewed the information and selected one of the mattresses. He also suggested a mattress protectors and set of sheets that would afford more my husband more sleep comfort as well as protect the mattress from becoming soiled.We don’t live anywhere near the Mattress Doctor store in Pekin, Illinois but that wasn’t an issue. The owner contacted his manufacturers and was able to order and arrange for speedy delivery of our special sized mattress to the Chicago area in less than 2 weeks!My husband loves his new mattress and bedding, and says he hasn’t slept this good in years! We are extremely grateful to the Mattress Doctor for providing us with such personalized attention and advice. We are also so happy with the quality of these products.With so many choices in the mattress market today, it’s hard to know what to buy or where to buy it. I will never worry again knowing I an trust the Mattress Doctor to advise me.

I showed up at the store with my daughter a few minutes after the store had closed. The owner was locking the door for the day and I told him how sorry I was but that I can’t seem to get my daughter here any earlier with school, practices and games. He let us back into the store, turned all the lights back on, shut off the alarm, called his wife and rebooted the computer. This place is AWESOME! My daughter tried out some beds and we purchased one and it was delivered 2 days later and she loves it. This was actually our 4th purchase from this store and it won’t be our last. The customer service and satisfaction is technically beyond measure! Thank you for being so kind and for owning this business in our town!

🎶 The mattress doctor, delivering dreams to yoooou!🎶We literally only stopped into the mattress doctor today to price check some mattresses since its been a few years since we bought one. Within the first two minutes of being in the store we were eyeballing a Mattress and we hear a man behind us say what brings you in today! My husband said that we were just browsing and the gentleman laughed and said Ive been hearing people say that for 40 years! We laughed and I told him I was tired of my back hurting. He then approached us and told us his name was Phil and started teaching us about the mattresses after we told him what we were looking for. We spent about the next 45 minutes talking about the different mattresses and laying on them and seeing how they felt while also discussing several other customized options for these beds. Phil was very informative and it was very refreshing to talk to someone who was honest and who knew their stuff! We also enjoyed listening to his stories from his past and other locations all the way down to the type of bed that he has in his home & the one hes getting ready to buy. We really appreciated the fact that he was upfront and forward with us even when I was asking him random questions, he didnt try to tippy-toe around anything! After we decided on a mattress we were writing him a check we were talking about the name of the business and the jingle. I was then prompted to sing it and surprisingly I got two free pillows! That was quite a surprise and we were pretty happy about that! We had actually just got back from a 9-day trip to the east coast and we stayed in two different beds during that time so when we arrive back home and slept in our bed that first night we realized the next morning that we needed a new mattress! We knew that we needed one but taking this trip definitely helped us to realize that we needed to look into that sooner rather than later!Long story short we had a very very pleasant visit at the Mattress Doctor today it was comfortable & clean and it was a very happy welcoming atmosphere. We walked in not knowing that we would purchase a new bed but was very satisfied walking out with one! Looking forward to our delivery on Thursday and were so happy that we have now made a new friend with a man named Phil at the Mattress doctor in Pekin, IL! I needed to replace an old twin size mattress yesterday and decided to look at the selections at Mattress doctor. Phil helped me and my teen find a latex cushion mattress, a premium mattress cover, and an Amish built mattress support. I could not pass up the quality. Very comfortable! The misses and I moved to the pekin area without our old bed to force ourselves to spend on a new bed. After one night on my old futon I needed a bed the next day, something in stock. Of course after getting our masters degree in mattresses from Phil the one we wanted wasnt in stock at the store. It was going to be 3 days before we could get it delivered. My back said no way. He called his warehouse guy who was not even at work that day and asked if he could meet us so we could pick it up at his warehouse in Mackinaw the same day. He left fishing (I felt bad but my back did not)and met me. Loaded up and sleeping on a heavenly pillow now. The service cannot be beat. Phil not only saved my back but helped us out with some information on the area. What a great experience. 💯 Percent recommend. The bed, the frame and the box springs are quality, very happy!
Phil at the Pekin store was VERY informative. We purchased our last mattress/box spring set 7.5 years ago from Phil and he helped us pick out our new set that best suit us again. He’s also the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. He even loaded our mattress for us today. It’s like sleeping on a cloud. Also his cologne was SUPERB! I had that overwhelming feeling of safety.

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good mattress and friendly service. From the moment we walked in and met Dr. Phil he treated us not as a number but like family. He was extremely knowledgeable about which mattress would work best for us and that was a huge plus. But that is not what made our experience so awesome. What really blew us away was how he treated our sons, especially our oldest who is special needs and loves to talk with people. He is also highly intrigued with animatronics which usually leads to a lot of questions if your in possession of one that he finds interesting. Well from the moment Dr. Phil met him he acknowledged every word that he spoke and never once treated him as though he was different in any way . As I kept a close eye on all that was going on and attempted to make our decision on which mattress we thought would be best I couldnt help but notice how his attention was not on making a sale to us but rather entertaining my son and that as a parent means more to us than any attention we would ever receive as a customer. Well after a few minutes we made our decision and purchased the mattresses and left . At this point we were happy with our choice to stop in and do business here based on our experience at the store. But it wasnt until a few hours later that we truly understood how blessed we were to have stopped in at this place to look for mattresses. See when we were at the store our son had become intrigued with an animated James Brown doll that sang I feel good and he just absolutely loved it so much that he spent the majority of his time in the store looking at it and even had Dr. Phil put batteries in it just so he could hear it which was extremely nice. Well when the delivery guys got to our house he was holding a brown paper bag stapled shut that he stated was for our son. I have no words to share as to how this touched our hearts when my son opened the bag and there inside was this animated singing doll, something that Dr. Phil had gave us the history on while at his store having had this for over 15 years with a lot of memories of employee events and sales yet at this moment simply sent to a young boy out of the kindness of his heart. This simple act of kindness told me all I ever needed to know about this man, and earned all my future business moving forward. I know this review is long but to a family who recently moved to this state, not knowing anyone or any places of business this sure makes us feel like we are in the right place. Supply chains are tangled worldwide, and finding the right mattresses for our new adjustable bed proved a challenge. We finally found MD online late one discouraged Saturday afternoon, called figuring they were closed, but Phil picked up the phone and went right to work for us. He found what we needed, gave us a great price and prompt attentive service, and we couldn’t recommend Mattress Doctor more highly. (I jokingly refer to him as ‘My new best friend Phil!’)
I went to the pekin store on impulse and found it was by appointment only on 2 days. I called and left a message. Phil the owner called back, left message (phone tag). We went back and Phil was their and was awesome. He showed us different price ranges and styles of mattresses to choose from. We bought mattress and adjustable frame (back and mobility issues). Lucky us it was delivered next day. The delivery/installation men were friendly and quick. Highly recommend. Best place to buy from.

Im beyond grateful for our experience yesterday. I took my mom in to purchase a bed as she hasnt slept in a bed since February. Phil was friendly and very helpful. He wanted to show her all the options that were available for what she wanted but he didnt push her to buy a certain one. She is so excited for her bed to be delivered Thursday! We purchased a mattress from Phil many years ago... of which we had some problems with it.... Phil was very helpful in honoring the warranty in having it repaired... Now currently, we were having issues again with it and Phil was again very helpful in wanting tomake it right. He contacted the mattress company and they allowed us to come in and choose total new mattress with full price credit of what we paid for years ago. We are very thankful for a local store that truly cares about customer service.

I must say purchasing a mattress is one of the hardest choices to make. So many options,pricing,etc. Always keep in mind this is for your body and your body has to have the most comfort in the areas needed. I ride my Harley daily and the point of this comment is you dont buy a 50 dollar helmet. You buy the best because lets hope you never need the helmet but if you go down think of it as your head is worth more then any 50 bucks. Quality is Quality in anything you buy. Phil Neri is one of the nicest guys youll ever meet. He is just like you and I a hard working man taking care of his family and looking out for yours and your well-being. He knows everything you need to know about mattresses, he is not at all a pushy salesmen. Just an all around great person to work with. Whatever you do listen to what he has to say because your body and sleeping habits are one of your lifes most important things in your life. The 2 gentleman that delivered our merchandise was super nice, knowledgeable about the products. They installed our mattress protector. Explained the warranty again with us just as Phil did. The store is a really nice clean place and really professionally ran. Lets face it you can go to a thousand places to buy a mattress and the salesmen dont really give a damn about you or whats good or bad just as long as they make a sale. Phil and his guys are far and few in-between that care more about their customers then just making a sale. I would give them a 10 star if it were an option.

Phil helped me purchase a new mattress, platform base and set up same day delivery all while I was busy at work. Weeks later when the platform base was just not working out and what I needed, he busily went to work to refund the platform base in full and get me set up with a heavy duty frame and box springs and arrange delivery. Wonderful customer service to make sure my needs were met and taken care of.

I bought my 2 daughters beds here 3 years ago and they are still in great shape and we will be able to pass them along and now we just bought an amazing bunk bed for them that is great quality along with 2 great mattresses. The bed has a 10 year warranty and is made to come apart and become 2 separate full size beds that they will be able to keep and use long after they are out of the house. Anyone needing a bed or mattress should go here. they even gave us a great deal with money off on the mattresses too. great place and great people.
I was having overnight guests for Thanksgiving and had put off getting a mattress for my guest room. I was going to buy a cheap mattress in a box from a discount store just to get by. I took a chance & called The Mattress Doctor. Phil was awesome and helped me out right over the phone. He told me about my options, and even had a two piece queen size box spring in stock. The whole thing took about 15 minutes & my new box spring, mattress, and frame were delivered that afternoon. Delivery guys were polite, quick, and neat & set everything up in no time.Phil even called me the next morning (on Thanksgiving!) to make sure I was happy. Cant say enough good things about The Mattress Doctor & Phil!!! Bonus- the bed is super comfortable. I typically would never have made this purchase over the phone, but it worked out perfectly!

I purchased a bed & bed-frame with a nice headboard from them back in July because I was moving into my new house! However, it wasn’t until the middle of December that I actually got to have my bed delivered and put together because COVID was making it harder to actually move in. Phil is the most kind hearted man, and called every month to check on the status of how everything was going & took really good care of me as a customer! I’ve recommended a few people to go to them because they LOVE my headboard and bed-frame!!I even remember when I had bought the bed and our money down I had accidentally gave him an extra $20 and he called me right back and told me I had given an extra $20 and when I went back to get it he also brought out a Magnum Ice Cream Bar!!! How sweet!!! I love the purchase I made and the guys who came to assemble the bed were nice and super professional and explained everything they were doing!!Such an amazing experience through all of this!!! About 20 years ago my husband and I purchased a mattress and box springs from the Mattress Doctor. It was by far the best purchase we made and certainly lasted as long as we hoped. Now 20 years later we decided it was time to purchase another. Of course we went back and received the same great service! Since we have aged our bodies have changed and we needed great support for a good nights sleep! Had a great experience, phil was very helpful. we got a great deal on an adjustable bed. the 2 delivery drivers were great, they wore masks, made sure they clean their feet every time they came inside. while setting the bed up they both showed me everything about the bed, how to operate it, maintenance and how often to rotate the mattresses. great experience and highly recommend the mattress doctor
Our new mattress and frame was delivered today, and we were beyond impressed from the beginning to end of the buying process. From the day we walked in the store, Phil spent time explain everything to us and show us multiple options. He actually listened to what we needed and pointed us in the right direction. He never pressured us or tried to sell us something we did’t need. He let us take our time and never once rushed us. Our mattress and adjustable frame (if you don’t have one, buy one! HEAVEN) were delivered within 2 weeks! We have friends that have waited months to receive a new mattress! So that alone blew my mind. The delivery guys were extremely polite and professional. They respected our home and wiped their feet every time they entered and always made sure to close the door behind them. They had everything put together and ready to go within a half hour. They even took the time to explain every option on the remote in detail. I would highly recommend that if you are in the market for a new mattress, to go visit these guys. You will not be disappointed!

I have been going to the Mattress Doctor for my beds for 12 years. I have purchased 5 beds and 1 futon. I just purchased a memory foam mattress set. When I called, Phil remembered who I am and what every purchase I made. I explained what my needs were and he had choices for me when I got to the store. It was a quick in and out. Honestly would recommend him to purchase a bed.
Phil and Travis were super helpful in helping us chose the perfect bed for us! We were back and forth between both stores and they consistent through both stores. We were not rushed or given the salesman go-around at all. Phil made the decision easy, helped us through how to keep our warranty good, and which frames and foundations were best for us and our sleep issues. Im a tough customer to please, but Phil ended up selling me a mattress and box spring set that meets my expectations. Individually wrapped coils on an Amish made box spring at a reasonable price compared to big box stores. Ill update the review as time passes.

I purchased a california king mattress and box springs from the mattress Dr. I had my bed put together wrong, and the mattress and box springs would not fit so I went to the store,the owner was there and he sent his two employees out to my house for a service call. They found the problem immediately, and fixed it. They did not charge me the service call fees, the owner just wanted to make sure I was satisfied! Not only am I satisfied, but will refer anyone needing a new bed to the mattress Dr. I was really impressed by his due diligence, and making sure I was happy!

I bought an adjustable bed about 15 months ago. The adjuster stopped working and I called Phil numerous times to try and troubleshoot the problem. He gave me different fixes to try to no avail. I faxed my receipt to him and he confirmed it was still under warranty but to try one more time to sync the remote to the frame before scheduling a service call. Gave me the YouTube site to test it, too. It worked! It’s alive! Phil also called me after hours and picked up the calls at home on his off time to get this problem solved. Really stood behind his product and his customers! Thanks, Phil!

Been battling COVID for over 2 1/2 months, during which time i was not sleeping well at all. Phil knew just the right pillows!
