We recently moved into a new house two weeks after our son and daughter-in-law moved into their first house. Our son is phobic about bees and wasps and we figured getting their backyard patio screened-in would be a suitable house warming gift. We decided we would also get our patio screened in as well at the same time. After some research we got in touch with Wayne Simmons and had positive interactions with him, including reviewing his portfolio of previous work done. Of concern is they were booked a few weeks out but we were put on a last minute call list. As it so happens an unexpected window opened up when they had some delayed permitting issue on another job and his crew was able to come in with short notice which was great with us.The reasons for a five star rating:1. Excellent communication. For both jobs we received phone calls advising us of James being on his way.2. James was prompt. He asked us for our needs as far as project goes, had sound advice on where to place the door, which way it should open. He showed us exactly where each “stud” would go.He encouraged questions and answered each one of them. A true professional, I must say.3. James was very meticulous with his work. A little obsessive and detailed about appearance. So for example the location of the screws that went in the floor matched exactly the screw location for the top part of the frame. He even had a blower to get rid of the dust created by the drilling.4. James had his father as a helper. It was a delight to see father and son work in tandem and I appreciated their obviously good relationship. They made a good team and made it look easy.5. Both of them were polite, respectful and had a friendly demeanor6. We were very pleased with the workmanship and quality of the installed screens.We have nothing but good to say about this small family business - did I mention James is a cousin to the Business Owner Wayne Simmons?Our only regret is we did not go with a bigger project and extend our patio out further. Simmons Home Design is clearly capable of handling something like that. Ah well, one can dream

Wayne and his team are the best. Professional install with high quality product! 2 years later and still looks new! These insulated aluminum panels are amazing. Keep the heat and noise down. No maintenance needed and see the patio lasting decades.

Wayne completed a screen installation for my back porch and I was very impressed with his timeliness, communication, and workmanship. He communicated frequently throughout the project to ensure that he was designing the screen to fit our needs. The finished project was exactly what we had in mind, and more importantly, it was effective in keeping the unwanted insects at bay.

I contacted Wayne the first week of April to have a patio enclosure done. The other company I had was 6 months out so I was trying to see if I could get something faster. I contacted Simmons Home Design and luckily enough was able to schedule the job the same week. Wayne came out and did a fantastic job! I can now sit outside without worrying about mosquitoes or wasps flying around me while I drink some cold beer and listen to my music! These guys are very professional and customer friendly and know what they are doing! I highly recommend them to anybody

The work done is amazing and precise and better than perfect.

When we called Simmons for a quote to rescreen our courtyard, they came when they said they would. Their bid sheet was very professional and listed all that would be included in the project. After we accepted their bid and were on their schedule, they showed up at the appointed time. It took them about five or six hours to do the job, and it looks great, with all the panels nice and tight. They cleaned the gutters and fixed a minor structural issue. All the debris was cleaned up and hauled off. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend them.

Steve Simmons and his crew did an outstanding job on my patio cover. He listened to what I wanted and gave excellent recommendations on what would work. I wanted to make sure the patio cover was windstorm compliant and he had it engineered and permitted. I could not be grateful enough on the job he did. I wanted my back patio screened in so I called Mr. Steve. He was very polite and understood what I was trying to explain on the design and color. He came out in one day finish my patio exactly the way I explained it should be. No hassle, no mess just very professional. I definitely recommend him to everyone. Wayne put in an enclosed patio. It is my favorite room to be in. The only problem was/is waiting for the products to arrive. It took about 2 months for him to start the project. Everything finally got done except we are still waiting on the screens, four months later after the windows were put in.

They did a very nice job on screening in our porch. I would recommend them to friends.

I recently had a Patio Cover built and screened in by Simmons Home Design. This is now my favorite place to spend my time. The patio cover was built with an Insulated panel as I was pleasantly surprised by how cool it is under it. The owner Wayne was fantastic as this was custom built he was able to envision ideas that were much better than I originally thought and it is a beautiful addition to my home. Wayne is very meticulous, detailed down to the screws that would never be seen. He made sure they matched. Every screw at least when he was framing and I watched was measured to be the exact distance apart Im sure for the integrity of the building but also visually perfect. I highly recommend Simmons Home Design to anyone who is seeking a fair price (he was not the cheapest but significantly less than others who gave me pricing but didnt take the time to understand me and just what I wanted.) I will be replacing my existing carport soon with the insulated panel system using Simmons Home Design.Hands down 200% beyond satisfied customer that will do more business soon. Thank you, Wayne.

The knowledge of aluminum structures is extensive. Simmons home design expresses a very genuine, upfront, honest and never beat around the bush ethic. I would like future customers to realize that Houston is a very large city and punctuality for this business may discourage some of you. A very simple reasoning behind this is travel and material warehouse location. Remember this is not a Lowes or Home Depot where you obtain these materials so commuting for something that is unexpected because of complete customization to your structure may be necessary. The reason I bring this to the future customers attention is that my referral mentioned timing. Simmons home design builds great aluminum structures as well as rapport. I give five stars for professionalism in Simmons home designs specialty trade.

Update 7/30/18Looks like Wayne Simmons decided it was best to remove his denial.(The denial of being the Wayne Simmons that we fired in the response that follows my review is beyond amazing and goes directly to his unprofessionalism and lack of integrity)Wayne Simmons of Simmons Home Design was the subcontractor at our home hired to replace the drywall, interior doors, trim, and paint after the house flooded during Harvey.As we now know, Mr. Simmons has ZERO experience in this kind of work. He subcontracted to another company he found on Craigslist for a previous job. What we also now know, they were both fired from that previous job for poor craftsmanship among other things.We ended up firing Mr. Simmons after too many instances of his inexperience showed up as well as his unprofessional behavior on the job. He knows the other reason we fired him, you should ask him.Reply to response from owner below posted on the morning of 7/25/18:Really Wayne?Although you would be correct in saying you should ONLY do aluminum exterior work, are you really going to deny you were subcontracted by Alltex and Russell Ahmann to do the interior scope on our house?Are you really going to deny you didn’t receive $3500 from them?Are you really going to deny you then subcontracted to Kenny?Are you really going to deny any text messages/calls from the same exact phone number listed on your profile page aren’t from you?Are you really going to deny any photos of you in the house aren’t you?Are you really going to deny any photos of the trailer in the driveway isn’t your trailer?Are you really going to deny the blue spiral bound notebook with receipts and notes we later found in the garage isn’t yours?Shall I go on?
