Ellis automotive was recommended to me by a neighbor. My vehicle is still being worked on so I cant really comment as of yet on the finished product however, so far... the customer service has been outstanding. I like that Ellis has been very communicative before actually performing any work to make sure Im OK with the cost. Very trustworthy vibes so far!

Firestone said we needed $3,000 worth of work to pass inspection... These guys took the time to really look at the car and see what really needed to be done. They got the car inspection-ready for $70. I definitely recommend them!

I was referred to Ellis Automotive by a friends dad. We had trouble getting my left rear tail light cover off to replace the brake light. I came by with my new lightbulb handy and was in and out in less than five minutes with my new brake light put in for no charge. I was very impressed with how quick and kind this service was. Edit: Great mechanics, but not really up with the times on how to run a business. Had my car towed here over the weekend after it broke down and called numerous times to try and see when they could look at it and work on it. No answer. Had to drive all the way over to see a sign on the door that they were closed. They could’ve at the least changed their voicemail to say they’re closed.Was referred here by a friend. They were less than half the cost of what the dealership wanted. Scheduling was a couple days out, but you know a mechanic is good when theyre booked up. Highly recommended.

This place tried to charge me $750 for a fuel pump replacement and then tried to say that my fuel filter needed to be replaced after I just put a new one on! The only reason they are getting 2 stars and not 1 is because they only charged me $50 dollars for diagnostic fee!!! THEY ARE NOT A PLACE OF INTEGRITY AND HONOR!!!!!

Great place, great honest people. I dropped my girlfriends car off with what I thought was a failed power steering pump. They found that it was just a leaking power steering pressure line and instead of replacing the pump (which was fine) and the broken hose, they called me and informed me it just needed the new hose. Less than half what I thought it was going to cost. I know an honest car mechanic is stereotypically an oxymoron, but these guys break the mold. If it breaks, Im taking it to them.

Having recently moved to Pearland, Ellis Automotive came highly recommended. I now understand why.I brought my vehicle in with a worn out distributor. After talking through the history of the vehicle, as well as my plans for future upgrades/repairs, they got to work.They stayed in contact as additional problems presented themselves (none of which were a surprise or unexpected) and remedied them in a timely manner.What impressed me was their directness in addressing issues, as well as a lack of up sell attempts. They solved the problem and pointed out legitimate ancillary parts which needed attention. There was no pressure for an oil change, no mention of worn wiper blades, etc.Will definitely be returning for repairs which cant be done in the home garage, and will be adding my voice to the recommendations.

The last honest Shop I know of.

After multiple referrals to Ellis Automotive I trusted them with our car and SUV. They were always fair and called for approval if additional work was warranted.They will not sell you too much work and offered good advice when cars got near the point of diminishing returns for repairs. I trust them, that is what matters most to me.

Feeling macho, I decided to replace the front brakes and rotors on my Ford F-150 pickup myself. While trying to break the bolts loose on the calipers, I torqued out my back. Trying to let off some brake pressure, I then mangled the bleeder on the right side. To finish it off, I trashed the master cylinder by applying too much pressure to the brake pistons with a C-clamp.With little or no brake, I limped the truck into Ellis Automotive and dropped it off on a Monday evening after hours with a note. They called me at noon Wednesday to say it was ready to pick up. The total bill was under $300.00 and that included replacing the master cylinder and the right caliper assembly. As with all the other repairs Ive had done at Ellis over the years, I didnt ask for a repair estimate. I knew I would be treated fairly and I wasnt disappointed.I would recommend Ellis Automotive to anyone in need of car or truck repair. One more thing. Ive learned my lesson. Leave auto repairs to the pros. You end up actually saving money in the end. And you dont have to pay for chiropractor and pain meds for back either.

I had a posi unit installed to replace my open carrier on my project car.When I put the car in the shop to change the ring and pinion the mechanic found bolts on the axles improperly tightened and some bolts inside the differential finger tight. never again
