Don Quijote is the perfect place to find all of your Asian/Oriental goods from beauty and healthcare to Candy Cheese and authentic Wagyu. I highly recommend shopping here to all of my friends and family.
It has everything from fish, cooked food to cosmetics. Anything Asian, you can pretty much find it here. Also, have scrubs (nursing/medical tops): clothing, bags, and all kinds of stuff.
Not crowded and other customers were practicing physical distancing. Carts were being wiped before use and the security guard was telling some customers that their masks needed to be over their noses.4/21/2021-They have those delicious Turtle Chips on Chocolate Churro. No sighting of Truly Iced Tea but they did have Truly Lemonade
Large supermarket and household goods shop, with an extensive selection of alcohol, including a very good selection of sake and soju, and an ok selection of the typical brand-name wines and beers. Lots of Japanese products, along with from other Asian nations. A decent fresh produce selection. Would be nice to see more local fruits & vegetables, if possible.
I love shopping at this Asian store it’s very convenient and closed to where I lived.
Love how affordable products here are compared to ABC Stores in Waikiki. I needed to buy some souvenirs for my colleagues, but I dont want to spend $50 for a couple of boxes. I saved about $10 coming here to buy boxes of chocolate macadamia nuts. For two boxes of 12, I paid $39.77. At ABC Stores, theyre $21.99 for 6 only!
I still think the best location is in Honolulu but there’s parking here as well and this location typically does not run out of its cornbread which is delicious!
This is about the okazuya inside the store. They have great food, good selection of local foods, cost is high and service is horrible. The worst I’ve seen. They usually have 6 people standing around in the back area and only one person up front and that person loves to chit chat with the customers. Expect waitimes of 15-30 minutes. The store managers don’t seem to care. This is an update to my earlier review. I have to give them 4 stars because the manager actually responded to my review and promised changes. So we’ll give that time to solidify. Meanwhile, I hope it includes hiring competent workers. The worst thing in take out world is to get home and find you got what you didn’t order. I got home only to find I was missing my main dish, the one thing I had been craving these past few days. So disappointed! The worker didn’t understand English well enough to give me what I ordered! So unless I run all the way back, I’m stuck eating something I don’t want and I paid for it too. I have a part in this in that I didn’t double check my order. So the 4 stars stand. This is a 5 STAR UPDATE!! I 100% admire the mana age mento for this store! They started off with 2 stars and today earned 5+ stars! If I could give 10 stars I would. Everything I listed as negative in earlier reviews have been corrected by management and they deserve your business plus get ono food! Today I ordered the mini miso pork roast with brown rice and gravy in the rice for $5.99, and Mac salad on the side. There were a few people in line but no waiting! I heard the cashier call another lady from the back and say, come help me! There’s a line! In my 3 years and 70 reviews never have I seen a turnaround like this. It’s never about how many complaints there are, it’s about what they do with those complaints. I commend the management and employees of Don Quixote! The miso pork was fabulous!
Holiday Mart, I mean Daiei, I mean Don Quiotes? Iconic oahu store with EVERY Japanese ingredient/product you can dream of along with a robust selection of more usual grocery items. If visiting, its worth a trip for the diversity alone!
I would like to comment and commend on the Produce department and a special individual name Will, who had saved some bitter Mellon for me so I could juice it due to medical conditions, I called and the operator directed me to the produce department and Will, was kind enough to hold the Bitter Mellon for me!Thank you 🙏 so muchDwayna Olivier
Chris you’re awesome!! Very professional and very friendly!!! Thankyou so much for everything you offer me just make my day amazing!! I’ll see you again on my next transaction👏👏👏
I LOVE this store! It has anything and everything youll ever need and the prices are great. There is a massive produce area and the prices are excellent. There are some unusual choices in the huge meat dept. Where else are you going to find goat? Ha! The varieties they offer in the Asian food sections are nothing short of amazing. You must shop here to see what I mean. There are clothing items, tourist stuff, electronics, dishes, huge liquor dept, fresh poke counter, and on and on and on. You will be amazed, believe it.
Great place to shop of a variety of grocery & sundries. The hot food section always has a good selection of lunch and dinner options. Tuesday is senior discount day. Plenty of parking. The Foodland store next door will be moving by the end of the year. I miss the American Savings Bank ATM.C. Moore
My go-to place to get groceries and household items. Doesnt always have the freshest looking produce, though. Competitive prices, lots of parking. There is a bank in the store as well as a cell phone shop and a place to get hot meals. The womens restroom is not very clean.
Friendly service, I asked a worker on the same day different departments where I could find a certain item, I expected just a verbal direction. What I received was an actual walking down with me. Exceptional service. Would definitely shop there.
It is such a Pearl City vibe to this store, and I have been to the Don Quijote in Japan. This store is by far the best of the companys enterprise. Great specials and something for everyone.
Interesting mix of everyday items youd expect to find in an American store and Japanese items. Some prices seem high but most are either average price when compared to other stores or a little lower. They seem to carry lots of different things and not just groceries but electronics, clothing, household items, and toys.
Once in a while you need to go to places that are perhaps not on your normal shopping list. This was one of those stores that I needed to go to because my other sources did not have what I was looking for.It was very easy to find what I was looking for with the help of a lot of friendly employees. Check out was very smooth with minimum wait time.
Great Customer Service, good prices and the turn around time to have my phone repaired was faster than I expected! Very Happy and pleased with the overall experience here 🤗
Convenient place to shop for one stop shopping. Has all the oriental specialty items, especially food items. Sadly, I heard a rumor they will be closing and a new Target taking its place???
Great! I go here for the tourist stuff. It has a good selection, unlike Waipahu Don Quijote. Cashier named Andrea was so helpful, I appreciated her service. (Cashier#:4597 Lane#03 @ 10:52am)
I found what I was looking for and at a great price they have a lot of stuff in the $1.99 area of the store . I want to go back again to get more of the same things that Ive bought there before. The check out is quick in the 10 items lane. Theres so much to see there . Check it out!
Many cooked food inside at a great price. Huge selections of Asian groceries but price is a little too high compared to other supermarkets. Checkout was pretty slow. Only going there for items on sales.
Like the large department stores of years past. Don Quijote has a wide variety of products. A produce department, pharmacy, great meat department, liquor department, kitchen ware, fishing supply, auto accessories, clothes and a local style deli, good selection of oriental foods both prepared orcto be prepared by yourself. Tourist shop here for gifts to bring home with them.
We rarely leave the town side of the island and this past weekend we decided to explore the Pearl City part of town. We were pleasantly surprised at the options for shopping that were available. Don Quijote was even better as we normally shop at the store in Honolulu. Bigger store, better selection of merchandise and groceries, lots of cooked food options and less cluttered. We will be back!
Great selection, however lots of shelves are empty and messy. Shoppers need to check every item because they are so many that’s expired.
From groceries (especially Japanese ), electronics, pet and garden supplies plus more. Nice to shop late without the crowds.
Great place to go shopping there, especially the fresh bentos. Great place to get lunch American and Asian food daily.
Twice I bought farmed raised atlantic salmon filet from this location and I noticed the salmons were not fresh. I could smelled the fishy odor. That is an clear indication the fish is spoiling. They need to improve their food storage by upgrading their fridge or have a better food safety plan in place. Disaster waiting to happen. Now on, I would prefer to drive to store in town which I noticed the seafood is fresher.
Don Quixote pearl city is my place to shop, it has good sales and excellent items. I save alot when i need groceries! Keep up the good job! Roger Fontanilla.
The place you need to drive to if you want cheap and good things.Very nice staff too.
The produce and customer service are good, the electronics/tools/kitchen supplies/household items are ok, but the building needs maintenance -- especially from heavy rainfall.
It is similar to your local Walmart, however, most items are geared toward the Asian culture. Good deli section.
Good selection of oriental food (noodles, sauces, snacks, etc). Prices are good. Check out their Sunday ad for best deals. They also have hot bentos. My husband likes the unagi bento. They have hot entrees you can buy in containers or make a plate lunch. I heard the ham is very delicious. Parking is free.
Love shopping for all the things I need fully stocked
Offer most everything one may want...hot dish to gardening
Wasnt sure which dept so we asked...security took us directly to the aisles instead of just telling us. Great customer service!
Good variety of fresh produce
So happy I found Kukui Sausage here. Otherwise Id have to go all the way to the farmers market at KCC.
Their produce section needs more attention and care. Onions and the potatoes have little black bugs flying around them. The assorted lettuce are wilted or damaged.
Old property so at least you know youre not paying extra for some expensive fixtures. Good quality fresh vegetables. Lots of uncommon Asian products if youre cooking up some Asian cuisine. Some of my favorites are fresh hamachi kama to grill at home and the grilled squid with a teri glaze in the deli dept.
Cant beat the donkey for interesting and affordable shopping.
Love this store and the variety. They also have Soursop tea.
Nice and pleasant employees always helpful nice sales.
Good prices, but wish this location had same items like Waipahu location.
Good place to find items from Japan. In addition to food, one can also find stationary, toys, and toiletries.
A great treasure box to find new and different things!
I love going here theres alot of asian food that they sale and great stuff asian products for your bathroom theres alot and they also have produce, meats etc.
Easy to find stuff because they are shelves according to kinds.
Hot plates are well worth it in the food court. Store prices are pretty good if you are on a tight budget too.
It use to great now its just ok. The seafood dept went backwards its not fresh mostly all frozen fish and all low quality products.
Havent been there for a while but still have cool Japanese nick nacks and gadgets for $1.99
I enjoy shopping browsing threw their Japanese snacks!
Been going there all my life, it use to be holiday mart back in the day. And daiei...
Each Don quijote has different items. They also started incorporating baked sweet potato machines (Hot and ready to eat) and Im hooked. This is also the only don quijote on the island that I can find my giant bag of nori ten chips!!!They have a good variety of produce as well. Inside of this don quijote, theres a small Korean beauty/Kdrama store and a TCA wireless that sells CBD products too
Great customer service. Clean store. So much to choose from!!
My favorite location, love the bentos here... japanese inspired!!!
Good customer service and this store holds alot of items.
Not bad. But not great either. Poke bar was not as I hoped. I guess I am spoiled by the one near Kapiolani.
Love all products Asian, this is the place to go no matter the location.
Great place to get Asian and Japanese goods. Mainly food
Great place for Oriental food, Japanese dishware,nick-nack galore, etc.
Still very pleased with this store, cashier was fast and friendly.
Tofu, Japanese cucumbers, buckwheat noodle...miso sauce...yes. Absolutly terrific!
I Love Don Quijote! Love the prices and products. The fresh cooked food is great..especially the corned beef cabbage. 🌟
One of the cashiers needs to change her attitude I know her name. Ill let it goNext time bye bye donki
The frozen HAMACHI makes great sashimi, put it on a bed of lettuce, fantastic.
Easy to shop and they have just about everything 😆😆😆
Great prices and selections. Got everything I needed.
Very busy place. Prices and staff are great
They much have a big shop lifting problem. Walking in both entrances are barricaded to stop people from leaving. Strange concept.
Always find more than I need
This is the place if youre interested in Asian groceries and goodies. Also, their dollar section has lots of intriguing items for the home.
Great assortment of food, household goods and souvenirs
Lot of local products. Sale prices are good.
No matter what ethnic ingredient, utensils, small appliances, Hawaiian souvenirs, etc. Youll never go wrong at this store
Great place to shop. It was just the cashier with no personality. Not even a thank you.
Good cheap Asian grocery store! Cheapest fresh poke Ive ever seen!
Great selection, strange name and great prices. This is the coolest grocery store I have ever been to.
The workers are always so nice
Great store for many items.
Need more sauce for the meat jun
Sherrie is a very knowledgeable with customer service. She help me and explain the product and services
Vienna sausage, ketchup, viatman water, and spaghetti Os
Review is specifically for the great grab-and-go bento and hot lunch choices! Wanted something other than fast food options one day and decided to check out the hot lunch and bento offerings at Don Quijote and was pleasantly surprised! There were all kinds of selections to choose from, including noodles and spam musubi to bentos with steak and shrimp, furikake salmon and even pork guisantes. Some of the bentos had white rice while others had multi-grain rice. Its busy during lunchtime, but the hot warmer case was stocked pretty full and replenished with new bento. Average bento prices ranged from $8-$12 depending on the size and items.
Lots of parking. Good choice of prepared foods.
Love everything about this place! Wish you were still in Kailua.
Don is always fun and relaxing to shop. Nice grpup of employees with friwndly smiles.
Good deals and chirashizushi.
One of my favorite grocery store.
Grocery items are a little bit more expensive than other stores. However, some electronics are a lot cheaper than the ones you see online, especially with shipping costs included if they’re from out of state.
Great place to go.
One of the older markets. They stock random items all over the place to keep you in the store longer. You have to be a regular to know where everything Id located. Make a list.
Supermarket with a cute mascot penguins whats not to love about it!
