Was told by another car/boat ship that I needed a outboard bearing replaced and water pump and oil change. And was gonna do it. Till he was charging me 1800 for the fix. Took it here for a second opinion and all it was, was the water pump. And this shop did a awesome job. Very honest and fast. Appreciate their work and will continue to come here. Thank you Andrew for getting my boat in and out for this weekend. Thank you
We recently bought a trolling motor from Columbia Marine Center. Andrew helped us with the process, which went smoothly and efficiently. I would recommend going here for your boating needs. They have many services and resources available, as well as great costumer service.
They will always have our business. Wonderful customer service and we love our new motor for our pontoon boat.
Good people to work for.I worked there 2 years ago and I enjoyed it that hole summer.
In early November, 2020 I was contemplating the purchase of a used 1999 Bayliner boat, located in Kennewick WA. As per good business practices I wanted a thorough pre-purchase inspection done on this boat and trailer. Knowing no one in the area, and living in Eagle Point in southern OR, I searched the local area (Tri-Cities) for a boat repair facility that would be able to provide me with such and settled on Columbia Marine Center in Pasco. The boat owner agreed to take the boat in for this inspection. After speaking with a man named Andrew @ CMC twice on the phone regarding what I was looking for and sending a document to him listing the (minimum) items I was concerned about, we agreed on an inspection to be done, price, and appointment for 11/11/2020. I received, their (seemingly very minimal) inspection results printed on the invoice through the boat owner, who was given my inspection and receipt upon picking up his boat on the afternoon of the 11th of November. I had agreed with Andrew to pay for and get this inspection when I came into town on the morning of Nov. 12th, but CMC would not release the boat back to the owner until the inspection had been paid for (on 11/11/20). Andrew had never mentioned that the inspection had to be paid before the boat would be released until the owner came to pick it up, which caused some consternation on the owner’s part; had Andrew told me this in advance, instead of agreeing to take payment from me the following day, I could have provided my card by phone when we set up the appointment. After a very heated discussion with the shop owner, a Mr. Travis Toroni, about the timing of the payment and who actually had a right to receive the inspection I had contracted for, I agreed to let them release the inspection to the boat seller and take my credit card over the phone so that the boat owner could get his boat back. This was a huge mistake. Their inspection was minimal and did not cover a number of the items Andrew and I had agreed on.Moving forward two days to the 13th of November, after sea trial with the owner on the 12th, and based on no negative indicators from the CMC inspection, I purchased the boat and trailer. On the 14th I hooked up the boat and started the 400 plus mile trip home. About 60 miles into my journey, near Boardman, OR, one of the tortion axles on the trailer failed and sheared off the trailer. Six days later and over $4200 in material and labor costs, an unplanned trip from Boardman to Spokane to pick up new axles from trailer manufacturer EZ-Loader, and having to rent a space in a monthly storage facility for the disabled boat & trailer so that I could make the aforementioned trip to Spokane, I was finally able to continue my journey home.On Dec. 1, 2020 I placed a call to Columbia Marine Center owner, Mr. Travis Toroni to inform him of the events and see about a refund of the inspection fee, due to the obvious lack of having properly inspected the trailer axles. He had my call on speaker phone and was with his employee, Andrew, who said that he had previously told me they are a boat shop & only inspect the lights on trailers. This was a lie; he had NEVER said anything to me, despite my written directions to inspect the trailer, about them not inspecting the trailer. I did not press for any remuneration from them for my costs incurred, I simply asked for a refund of the inspection fees of $434.40. Mr. Toroni’s response was, and I quote, “ain’t gonna happen”.Bottom line; these people dont do what they say they will, come up with excuses after the fact and wont take responsibility for their mistakes. I would avoid this shop like the plague.
Communicated with Andrew, Service Manager.Discussed outboard motor issues.Great communication / pleasant personality.
I called checking to see about getting a part he said there were leaving for the day he would call me in the morning did never hear back from them.
Fantastic service, took the time to answer all of my questions, Gave them a deadline so I can go fishing and they went above and beyond and got everything fixed. Great work guys! I will not take my boat anywhere else.
Always helpful. Good folks
First time there and not impressed. They kinda beat around the bush about a potential problem. They ended up not working on my motor as it seemed they would prefer to sell another new one. Still no clue what was wrong with my motor. Im pretty sure they havent a clue either.
Everyone there was awesome! Great people to take your marine equipment to! Very helpful answered all my questions. Even helped with my depth finder problems! Definitely will take my boat back to them for any other device I need!
I found Columbia Marine during an internet search, after reading the testimonials, I thought I would give them a try. My first meeting with Andrew and Travis convinced me I was at the right place. During our first meeting both men were more than willing to answer questions and give advice, at the end of that day, I became the proud owner of a new 60 horse and a 9.9 horse suzuki, outboard motors. They installed both motors, a new steering system, fuel system and electrical system. My boat ( a 1959 Dorsett Catalina) was tied up for two months because of parts on back order and the Virus, however Andrew kept in regular contact with me so I had an idea of what was happening and not happening. When Andrew called to tell me the boat was ready to be pick up,, he provided me a final cost, which I thought was fair. Two days later I called Andrew to let him know when I would be picking up the boat, during that call he told me he had made a mistake on the original quote and it was actually around $2,000 less than what he had quoted. When I picked the boat up, both Andrew and Travis gave me a detailed explanation on how all the new equipment worked. They also asked that I contact them if I had any additional questions or concerns.Columbia Marine is a first class business and have no hesitation in recommending them for any of your boating needs.John TPendleton
Great customer service & very knowledgeable!

These guys where super helpful. Even though they didnt have what we needed they called all over town to find what we needed. Awesome customer support! You guys are great, thank you!
Travis and Andrew were very helpful. Had a issue with a fuel pump and they fixed us right up. Thank you.
They have been honest and fair on assessment of repairs on older small outboards. I have used them several times. I would recommend them to anyone who needs boat motor work done.
These people dont do what they say their gong to do. If you call them on it they will tell you to come get your boat/motor and refuse to do business with you. I took an outboard motor into have it serviced. Was told that they were backed up two weeks but could work on it then. So i agreed. Didnt hear back from them after a few weeks so called them back. They told me it would be two more weeks before they could work on it. They just kept stringing me along. Didnt say they were sorry or anything. So i asked to speak to the manager. He came to the phone and accused me of yelling at the employee on the phone and to come get my motor. I explain that i didnt talk to the employee any different than how Iam talking to him. Yes i was upset, but never raise my voice, cussed, called names or anything else. I feel i had the right to be upset cause of what they were doing by dragging me on and on. Not doing what they say they eye going to do and not being sorry about it. They have really bad customer service and could care less about taking care of people. I read other reviews and feel thankful that at least i got my motor back before they worked on it. No telling what would have happened.
Very friendly, great technicians, and a knowledgeable service writer who is willing to help. Great business to deal with.
These guys are the kindest, most helpful boat mechanics around. They really do work with you to solve whatever problems you may have. I have been going to them for years now.I have called other mechanics to do work for me, and they wouldnt even do what these guys are willing to do.I highly recommend this place.
They help me find a boat ignition they did a good job 😁
I brought my boat in to have the seal replaced on my outboard gave them a check list . They called me when it was done, I paid for the service the mechanic told me it was good to put in the water so I did, half hour later there was a problem I shut the motor off used the trolling motor to trailer the boat and found no oil in the upper and lower stern drive. I took it back to them to have them fix the mistake I got the boat back at the end of the season so I only was able to put the boat in the river once between work and the weather getting cold. I winterized the boat, next season I found the boat ran berry bad after an hour in the water gave it throttle and it would not down.I took it back to them finding out that they never replaced all the Berings in the stern drive.they said my boat was now too old to work on and refused to fix there mistake intact they tried back peddling saying it was not their fault.
The owner and his son have gone out of their way countlessly to help diagnose and repair my boat problems. They are top quality people running a top quality business
