I received great service at San Marino Auto Service. My 21 year old car needed a new transmission which was replaced at a fair price and within 4 days. The owner is very friendly and he kept me informed on my cars status almost daily. Im happy to say my car is now working great.
Heros is the best mechanic. Tells the truth exactly how it is. Save time, save your money,go to him first.
Heros is a man of wisdom, grace, and efficiency. Not just an exemplar of automotive acumen, but a dashing figure with a kind soul. He accurately diagnosed and splendidly repaired my BMW X5 for a price, with all due respect, that made me feel as though I stole from his own pocket. An extraordinary man in ownership and operation of a businesswhich, about which only one word sufficiently captures both its spirit and essence; sublime. Cheers to you Heros, and your masterful technicians, for setting the bar so high as to render it unattainable to any and every automotive service in existence!
Great spot friendly service and reasonable prices I highly recommend a spot if you’re in the area and you need your car service they’re really good with electric cars and overall they’re very experienced mechanics shop is big enough to accommodate many cars and their service is pretty good in terms of turnaround I was pretty satisfied throughout the time I’ve been servicing my car there
Staff knowledgeable, repairs came in under estaminet.
I just picked up my car after they completed a brake job on all four corners.they saved me fifty percent of what the dealer wanted.and yes, using factory brake pads, not aftermarke ones.the best shop around.honest and knowledgable.i read a few of the reviews complaining about prices, not so.he is fair and knows what he is doing. he stands behind his work.most of the shop owners in pasadena use him because he is a master diagnostician.i have tried many shops, including dealerships,i find san marino auto refreshingly knowledgable and efficient in delivering quality auto service.
I NEVER write reviews. And I hate to write a poor one. But this time, I think I need to share my experience with San Marino Auto.I dropped off my Toyota 4Runner for an estimate on what it would cost to repair my AC in the vehicle. The freon was empty. Easy fix.I expected--as I would from all reputable auto repair companies--to receive a call stating the problem and the estimate to repair the problem in question as well as recommendations for further repair/maintenance. Instead, Heros and his crew filled the freon and charged me an outrageous diagnostic fee for 1 hour of work on my vehicle, followed by the cost of the freon fill. This is unacceptable. When I drop off my vehicle and ask for an ESTIMATE, it is fundamentally unethical to fix the vehicle and charge me for services that I never authorized to begin with.I am done with San Marino Auto. And I suggest that looking for an honest auto repair shop look elsewhere.
Good mechanic
Got a full engine replacement done in two days on my Mercedes, running well so far, no complaints other than the fact that fixing these cars is a fortune.
They charge a lot for simple brake repair, thankfully I found Brake Geeks in South Pasadena, they took care of my problem for a fraction of what these guys were about to charge me, plus they came to me so I didnt have to go anywhere. I recommend Brake Geeks for brake replacement not this guy.
This is a nice guy but his work sucks, he over hauled an engine for me on the VW GLI 2008, the engine wasnt installed into the car properly and a bracket broke leaving one of the nuts inside and costing me an additional 1,000 dollars after I had already paid him 3,000. Dont take your car to him for major work it will cost you alot more money.
The staff here is very vocal and have great conversation like my family. Cheap prices and great work
100% experts!!
These people SCREWED me! At the end of April, the air conditioning on my 2003 Mini Cooper failed. My usual mechanic was on vacation and referred me to this place. Heros (an owner) told me the compressor had failed, and needed to be replaced, which he did, along with a freon charge, billing me for $1247.00. The AC worked for about 3 weeks, then gradually began to fail, the air getting warmer and warmer. When I took it in, Heros tried to blame the failure on me for driving the car over a bump and damaging the compressor. In was only when I took the car to another mechanic (an expert in car AC) who reported no, the compressor was NOT damaged. He said it failed because Heros had hooked the brand new compressor to the existing, nearly 12 year old system. Car AC is a closed system. Unless it is evacuated perfectly (almost impossible to do with a car this age) then debris and metal shavings quickly foul the new compressor. In order to do the job properly, a WHOLE NEW system needs to be installed...condenser, hoses etc. San Marino had NO idea how to properly install AUTO AC...but instead of just telling me this, they took my money, then tried to blame their incompetence on me. I had to pay an additional $1600 to get the AC fixed PROPERLY. Please...DO NOT give these people your business!
Jerks, Rip OFF! Tried to charge me $600 for a bad alternator battery. They said i needed a brand new one. I went to Oreilys down the street and bought a new battery for the alternator for $50. If you want something done right and honest, you have to do it yourself.
Nice enough fellas.
They replaced a signal light switch and crossed the wires. Before we got home to Montana we went through 21 15 amp fuses because the switch was installed incorrectly. We were towing a pop up tent trailer and had no signal lights.Signal would work once and blow the fuse.Do no and I repeat do not take your vehicle there for any kind of repairs.Had the signal light switch repaired correctly at South Tacoma auto sales in Washington. He found what they had done incorrectly.
