Do not purchase anything on this particular store, I returned a piano and as a matter of fact I still waiting for the refund. If this company is scamming clients they certainly have a case on the horizon. I will give a few more days for this to be resolved.

I bought a keyboard for my mom here, and was told by a GuitarCenter representative that a sustain pedal was included with it. Went home and opened it to find no pedal. Called GuitarCenter to ask about it, and was told that it actually doesn’t come with it, and that they won’t do anything to help the situation because “oh, our employee must’ve just not known about the product.” Yea, don’t go here.

This is the best shopping experience I’ve ever had, really. I came in as a beginner female musician. Johnnez helped me pick out some gear. Not only did he answer all of my questions, and help me pick the exact right piece of equipment—he really encouraged my work and tried to understand exactly what I was trying to create.If you are a woman in any industry you get used to men putting you down, mansplaining, quizzing you. This was the exact opposite experience. Polite, knowledgeable, informative, encouraging. I really want to say thank you.I will shop here for all my gear as long as Johnnez works there and/or they keep this attitude towards customers. 10/10

So impressed by the employees!!I just took my 8 year old son here today. He has never played an instrument but now wants guitar lessons. I am COMPLETELY clueless. So we felt a little overwhelmed when walking in.The employees were SO kind and helpful!! One of them helped my son find the perfect guitar. Amazing. Then.... we went to checkout. The three employees at the counter went above and beyond!! They kept telling my son what a sick guitar he chose. They went on and on about how they’ve been eyeing it and have been wanting a full size one for themselves! My son was in heaven! I honestly think that if he develops a real love for guitar it will be greatly due to these guys. They made him feel like a rock star!! He is now going to go to his first lesson with much more confidence and enthusiasm. Thanks guys!!!!

It is a Big Beautiful location, it is loaded with great inventory, I just received an amazing deal there, trading in my QSC speakers, buying the new models and buying two new speakers and adding an extra speaker, I got the 15% off 36 month finance and fair trade in value for my old set, so you ask why three stars? It took a long time to find someone who was well versed on the speakers, it also was a long process to get the deal done, I was offered an in store insurance policy for two years when the speakers carry a six year warranty, one speaker had to be ordered which is no big deal, but it was a little bit of Inconvenience, overall I am satisfied with my purchase and the deal, the person who took care of the sale was a nice guy and I am comfortable with his help, however they are lucky that I researched and was patient, I knew it was a great deal, I think with a bit of focus this place has great potential because overall I am thrilled with the new speakers and the bargain

Just wanted to say thank you to Joe for taking such good care of us yesterday. On occasion we have found some staff in music stores to be arrogant and stuffy. Joe was knowledgeable, helpful, patient and most of all, friendly! My son loves his new addition and we are looking forward to coming back next week for a new peddle. This location is a little out of our way as one of their other locations is just a quick 5 minute drive but Joe makes going a little farther much worth it. Thanks Joe and happy new year!

Great store. Friendly staff lets you try any guitar without the pressure to buy. Over the past two yrs I have bought a number guitars and amps and love the hassle free 45 day no question return policy which I have used twice. The guitar tech has often made minor adjustments without charge and when I do need more extensive work the charges are very reasonable.

Always lose track of time when I’m in here. Staff couldn’t be more knowledgeable and helpful. Return policy is almost too generous. If they close their doors I’ll be devastated...the other option nearby is Sam Ash, which has its merits. But guitar center is always my first choice.

I went to the Paramus Guitar Center to check out a synthesizer they had in stock and called ahead of time to make sure that it was on the shelf and available to try out and play before I committed to buy. Unfortunately after driving a half an hour in a snow storm in rush hour traffic and got to the store, no one could find the power cord for the display model. At this point I was very frustrated because of the lack of care coming from the sales associates after all that i had already gone through. This instrument was on sale and I was tempted to purchase it, but I really did not want to commit to buy this instrument without first testing it out and making sure that it was what I really wanted.I spoke to the manager who apologized to me for this inconvenience and that corporate would not allow them to buy replacement power cords for clearance items. To me that still is not a good enough excuse for a retailer who markets their store as a place where customers can try before they buy. I traveled all the way to this store in a snow storm because I was told I could try out an instrument they had in stock and I was met with nothing but excuses and apologies.After all I went through I was still determined to find this synth so instead of going in circles with Guitar Center, I called their local small business competitor Three Wave Music in Hawthorne NJ. To my surprise and delight Sam at Three Wave Music had the exact model on his shelf WITH THE POWER CORD because his business values TRUE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went to Three Wave Music and Sam had already setup the floor model for me before I even arrived (GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE). I played the keyboard and walked out with it within 30 minutes. Guitar Center blew a perfectly good opportunity to have my business but Im glad I gave it to the little guy instead.

My kids have been taking lessons here for several months, pre and during COVID. Generally, the instructors are good and they both enjoyed it. I took away 1 star because of the frustrating experience I had with them today. Called to see if my kids still had lessons scheduled as we were told their lessons ended last week but I received emails for them to check-in. Put on hold for 22 minutes (and i am a very patient person). Decided to hang up and call back...maybe they forgot?? Next person puts me on hold but also hung up on me. Call #3 was on hold for 7.5 minutes before hanging up because I had 15 minutes left to find out and get them to their lessons if it were true. 4th call, let out some frustration that I needed to find out ASAP since I need time to get there...told him I was on hold for a total of 30+ minutes just to find out if we were scheduled. The guy on the phone said hes from sales and cant help me but theres nothing he can do and Ill just have to wait...last straw gone...lets just say we wont be going back for anymore lessons.

I am so thankful for Dr. Lee and Mike in the repairs department. They are unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable. They are also super friendly and extremely approachable. I have brought them several of my guitars and they never have a problem going through the details of each instrument. They also sent one of my classical guitars to a specialist named Oliver who is truly a master luthier. I am truly grateful for their amazing service and would recommend them to anyone I know!

I took my brand new guitar to this place for a set up because I didn’t like the tension of the strings. I went back and forth 3 times to set this up dealt with the same guy he happened to be a real nice guy but he did not fix this issue he recommended I should use lighter gage strings which I already knew. Bottom line my guitar tension guitar is still the same and I paid $69 for a guitar tech to look at it ( he actually agreed that it’s still the same tight as before)

The shop is big and has lots of variety for various different music instruments. Acoustic center is not too big. The employees there are helpful and knowledgeable. There are few options for little kids like some shaker toys for babies and toddlers and foldable piano and drums for 6+. Whole lots of electric guitars.There are books and educational sets available for learning different instruments. Overall good.

Okay, so Ive been to many guitar centers and tried lessons at an assortment of them. To be honest, this Guitar Center, is definitely one of the best. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, their teachers are very well trained and willing to teach. My teacher is Marty, an extremely passionate and wise music teacher. He has many years under his belt and the wisdom he shares with you is valuable in becoming a musician not just someone who knows how to play an instrument. The selection of instruments and there accessories are wide and high quality. Need an instrument and accessories? Definitely keep this place in mind!

Customer service was atrocious. Employee who was helping me told me I am not interested in helping you, I am helping my colleague who didnt want to help you. I could not understand why I was told that. Right from the start every employee did not want to help, meanwhile the store was practically empty. They will most likely say I came in with a negative demeanor. But I will explain I came in positive and ready to sell my keyboard. I became annoyed and frustrated when they did not want to help me. I never ever leave negative reviews for businesses. But I have never received this type of negativity in my life.

I bought a Willams Symphony Grand Piano and insurance as well from this guitar center. We had to sent it to repair some statics in the volume bottom. The insurance company gave me a full refund for what I paid. I was very sad because I want my piano back. I called the store and spoke to Jessie the customer care manager, he was kind and understood the situation and said come to the store and we will acomódate you with what you need. I went there the next day and he was out. Them I meet Justin the manager store and from there everything was a blessing from God. I got my beautiful piano back thanks to people like Jessie and Justin. Thanks so much for a such a great service. I’m very happy to be one of your customers ❤️❤️

The salesman that helped me with my purchase was nice and helpful, but they are very pushy trying to sell their warranties. When I declined the offer for the warranty, the manager that was standing right there decided to step in and say that I really should get it because the brand of keyboard I was getting - a Williams - never last more than a year. Not really the smartest thing to say about your merchandise, but I let it go. The keyboard was a floor model and didnt come with a box. The sales rep let me know that I had 30 days to return everything and after a few weeks I decided that I did want to return the keyboard since I wasnt using it as much as I had hoped. I called the store to double check that it was okay for me to return the keyboard even though it didnt come with a box - he put me on hold to find out, and then confirmed that it wasnt an issue.A few weeks later when I went in to return my keyboard, the same manager that was there when I bought it helped me. When I told him I was returning the keyboard, he immediately asked where the box was. I told him that it didnt come with a box, it was a floor model that was on clearance. He rudely asked who sold it to me and I said I didnt know, but I had the receipt so maybe it was on there. He started doing something on the computer and said this wasnt right. I let him know that I called to double check if it was okay to return it without a box and was told it wasnt an issue, and he asked me who I spoke to. I told him I didnt remember the persons name. He said, Well Im the manager and Im here everyday until 5, and you didnt talk to me. Okay, so maybe I called after 5? He had someone come over to look into the situation further and was talking about me like I wasnt even there. Hes saying there wasnt a box when he bought it. Why would we sell it to him without a box? He doesnt even have the power supply for it, etc. etc. to which I told him that actually I DO have the power supply with me. I handed it to him and he said this isnt even the same brand. This is the only keyboard and power supply Ive ever owned, and its what they sold to me.After a few minutes of him talking to me as if I was lying and trying to swindle them, he had someone else come over who gave him the approval that they could refund my money, so fortunately everything worked out. Regardless, its pretty clear that they dont have their stuff together and their manager is way too rude to be working in customer service. Definitely not coming back.

Poor Customer Service:When I saw what I wanted, but needed help getting it off the ten-foot high top shelf, employees kept asking me if I needed help and I would say yes, I need a ladder. They kept saying someone would be right with me, but no one would actually help me. Theyd just ask if I need help and then leave.I got tired of waiting for false promises, so I looked around and found the ladder leaning against a display nearby. I grabbed the ladder and used it to grab my item off the top shelf, and walked to the cash register to buy it. They asked me how I got the item that they knew I wanted (because I told them) without their help. I told them I used the ladder that I found nearby. The cashier, said that technically thats stealing...That ticked me off, so I said that it wasnt and that someone should have helped me faster. Then I bought the dang thing and peaced out of there, hopefully forever. I was glad they had the product I wanted, but the staff ruined my experience with their lack of helpfulness and honesty.I assume they must have thought that I snatched the ladder from some off-limits area, but no, the ladder was a few steps away, so I used it. Sue me.

I miss the old location on Rt.4 East. They had a nice, cozy, soundproof acoustic room, where all guitars were easily accessible, and you could sit and really listen to the tone of the guitar you were interested in. The new location does have an acoustic room, but its right in the middle of the amp/electric guitar area, so no peace and quiet. The acoustic guitars - especially the decent ones - are hung way up high, and you need someone to get it down for you to try it out. On top of it all, last two times I was there, the sales people were showing each other unbelievable chords (thats a quote from one of the sales guys), so any meaningful test of a nylon string classical guitar was pointless.On the positive side, they do have a pretty good selection of equipment, but its not nicely and logically organized like the old place used to be. As for the sales people - some are real nice, some are kinda pushy, but I guess thats everywhere. All in all, not my favorite GC, but its the closest, so Im stuck with it.

I bought a used Gibson les Paul today and was helped by joe who was absolutely fantastic. It was a busy time (Xmas eve at 5pm) with few staff on duty but joe worked his tail off to help me and plenty other customers that I could see him giving his recommendations to and then going and attending to others. Great guy with thorough knowledge and passion for guitars and an absolute straight shooter who recommended the right guitar for my budget and requirement ... give him a raise GC
