Always courteous, prompt and professional! More importantly trustworthy and will never do more work than is needed or recommend !!!
It is difficult to find a Ferrari specialist in the Tallahassee, FL area. I searched on some Ferrari forums and located Smith Motorworks 100 miles away in Panama City, FL. I placed a call to the shop and spoke to the owner.Mr. David Smith (owner of the garage) was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and polite. I was able to verify that he had the experience to work on my F430. Mr. Smith set up picking up my vehicle and performing the services it required. The entire process was very smooth and easy.I highly recommend this shop for vehicle service!
Incredible facility. Very knowledgeable staff. Wont find a better shop in the area
Extremely knowledgeable! Great place! Youll return!

Best place EVER for honest and reliable service. Wont take my cars any where else. Dave and his team are amazing!
Really cannot go wrong with this shop if you have a Porsche. They are really passionate about Porsche and it shows. Straight forward and worth every penny!
Conscious and very articulate in evaluating the needed repairs
Got my car in and fixed it in less than 24 hours. Very impressed.
Now, if you ran out of luck at the track or looking beyond what your local Porsche dealer can offer, Dave Smiths car shop is the very place you want to visit if you live in the Florida Panhandle area or relatively close by. The work they have done on my car (fixing what is known as a catastrophic cooling failure on 997 Porsches) was exceptional, and after 5 months the level of coolant did not change even a bit. Great, reliable, and professional service. Being a race driver himself, Dave is also a mine of information about racing and race cars. If you plan any upgrades, you will find Daves advise and suggestions indispensable. Go and visit their shop - it is absolutely worth even a long(ish) drive!
I have recently bought a car from Smith Motorworks and I have to say. This is one of the rare places where HONEST people are running the business. The car was EXACTLY as advertised and the shop owner helped me with a few issues long after the transaction was completed, even thou he didnt have to. It is so difficult to find honest mechanic or honest car dealer, and Smith Motorworks are HONEST. I wish this business was close to where I live as Id have them service and repair my cars as well.
Dave and his team are a true resource to have. Owning foreign exotic cars can be difficult however Smith Motorworks is always up to the task. From simple maintenance to performance enhancements on our two Porsches, Dave can do it all. We highly recommend Smith Motorworks to anyone
Solid people and they definitely have the passion... was a nice experience and Im glad they treated me and my ride professionally and honestly.
Honest people. Wouldnt take my car anywhere else.
Friendly and honest staff. Great place.
Excellent service and most important - honesty.
I purchased a 2002 BMW m5 on Ebay from Smith Motorworks in Panama City, FL. The seller had good reputation and only few bad reviews. They deal with race Porsches and work on European cars. I spoke with the owner as well and built up my confidence in purchasing the car. I am in California and he is on the opposite coast, which means I had to trust in what the add claimed. The Ebay add only mentioned intermittent radio problems and NOTHING ELSE wrong with the car. I hired a trucking company and upon delivery it seemed like they brought me another car. Trucking company noted damage on the outside and seller signed the report. Note that the damage was not described in the Ebay add and included rust, damage to front and rear bumpers, clear coat issues on the door and damage to quarter panel. The car was on the truck for 3 days only. Upon further inspection at the mechanic we found the following:1. Car showed up with a check engine light on and the codes wereP0410, p0411, p0412, p0413, p0414, p0415, p0416, p0417, p0418 and p0419. Most of these mean that the car has excessive carbon build up on the cylinder walls and it will not pass smog. This is a big issue and $4k-$5k job to fix. These codes are stored in the DME and it looks like they were present prior to delivery.2. Interior is falling apart, shift knob is broken, panels are coming loose and the airbag looks like it has been deployed and more panels are unclipped and falling apart.3. Your add stated the radio works intermittently and that was the reason they installed XM radio. XM radio does not work at all.4. Rear window seals are missing5. Rear bumper and quarter panel have noticeable paint cracks, dents and evidence of an accident6. Front bumper under headlight trims have damage in them and they are unable to stay in7. Hood does not open8. Front grilles are broken9. The car blows a lot of smoke10. Both front wheel fender linings are broken11. Car does not rev past 3k rpm and dies out.....Bad fuel pump.12. Alarm does not work13. Rear power door lock actuators are dead14. PDC is broken15. Broken Hood latch16. Broken hood sensor17. Transmission leaking18. Power Steering leaking19. Rear Main Seal leaking20. Front brakes21. Rips in the dashboard22. RUST AROUND THE FRONT GRILLE AREA.I contacted the seller and he was in disbelief and was blaming everything on the transporting company. The transporter does not do a mechanical inspection, but they did list all the exterior damage, which the seller sign.I received an estimate for over $12k to get the car into a shape that was described in the Ebay add. I will be filing a legal action suit, complaint with Better Business Bureau and this story will appear on every car forum.I offered the seller a chance to pitch in to fix some of the mechanical issues and I can take care of the rest, but received no response.I did not expect a brand new car, but when you sell something online a good character obliges to disclose all the issues. His explanation continues to be the fact that it’s a 13 yr old car, but fails to realize I am ok with the age and expected issues from a higher mileage car. All of these items should have been disclosed, but the seller turned out to be a lousy scammer and fraudster. He is not to be trusted.
