Saturday, August 28th, Derrick at Panama Alternator became my Knight in Shining Armor. The alternator had died on my Toyota Camry the night before, and I prepared myself to be without a car until Monday afternoon at the earliest. I called Saturday morning to leave a message requesting an appointment on Monday if possible, and Derrick answered. HE TOLD ME TO BRING MY CAR ON DOWN. They were not officially open. He had come in to work on something else, but he would check out my car. Derrick removed and rebuilt my car’s alternator that day, and I had my car back before 2 PM. His rebuild saved me almost $30 compared to other local and online sources of rebuilt alternators. He saved me on labor as well. He was so courteous and polite. Most people would have scheduled an appointment for Monday rather than spend their Saturday coming to my rescue. He’ll never truly know how much this meant to me. We were camping in Panama when we noticed that the alternator had quit. To make long story short, Joey came out to the rv park and changed the alternator for me. Didnt charge me a dine dime either, who does that?. I highly recommend Panama Alternator & Starter. They delivered fast and honest service. My check engine light had come on. At times, it seemed as if my car was going to shut off and sometimes it took a longer time to start up. I took my car to a local dealership to get an oil change and I explained the problem to them. They did a diagnostic test and told me that I needed a new intake air boot. However, after I left the dealership with the new part, my car was still doing the same thing. I went back and was told that the issue was normal and that it had to do with my fan and the charge from my battery. A few days later, my check engine light came back on. This time I took it to the shop where I purchased my battery. They did a test and said that I needed a new alternator. This didnt seem right. Fortunately, my dad was able to get in contact with Mr. Ramsey and I was told to bring my car over. In the end, it was a bad connection with a cord that was going from the alternator to the battery. Mr. Ramsey cleaned it up and solved the problem. I appreciate that he took the extra time to figure out what was going on underneath the problem. As a female, it seems that its easier for mechanics to get over on us and that everything is all about business and money. However, Mr. Ramsey was straightforward and honest. He explained what he did and why he did it. He solved my problem, which saved me money and time. I am beyond satisfied with his service.

These folks are amazing! Great service! We were stuck at a local marina with a bad voltage regulator. After calling a few stores that couldnt help without a car make and model, Joey was able to set me up with the regulator i needed and walk through the wiring differences with me to make sure we got back on the water.

Our alternator had worn out bearings, but functioned normally. Alternator rebuilding is something of a lost art yet very simple and in expensive when compared to the purchase of a new one. The local Chevrolet dealer, could not even get parts for the alternator, but offered to sell me one at the deal of $461 plus tax. None of the local auto parts stores I called had parts to rebuild an alternator either, and again the offered to sell me one ranging form $130, to $277; all I needed was the two bearings to put in it. I called Panama Alternator and starter, Shane answered and upon telling him the year and make of the truck, he spit out the bearing numbers and asked me to hold, when he came back he had checked the inventory to be sure I wouldnt waste the trip to their shop. When I arrived, I had brought a pulley that had a worn out bearing as well, Shane immediately recognized the bearing and had his brother Allen go check to see if it was in stock, it was. He then asked his Allen to ring me up, while I was paying what seemed to be an unbelievable low price, Shane took my pulley, pressed out the old bearing and installed the new one, and at no additional charge. Unbelievably I walked in and spent about $30, received amazing customer service and saved between $100 and $500 in parts I already had that simply needed to be repaired. Bottom line is this is a family owned business, with great customer service who are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. For anything to do with a alternator or starter Im definitely going to them.

Absolutely the best, and only place you need to go. Since I have a thirty-year-old Nissan Stanza, my repairs are a bit challenging. These guys have saved me three times, and have the best attitudes. Friendly, expert, and able to handle tricky problems, theyll have you leaving with a smile.

I went there with a Rv broken generator. It was fine, they checked it searching for the problem. Still, even if they couldnt solve/isolate the whole problem, i said to fix one of them. They wanted to charge me too much for that piece, so i gave up, showing them a regular price on the internet.
