Hands down, the BEST ice-cream cake around and yes, we drove 45 minutes to go pick it up because this is the only location around. Ice-cream is creamy and LOVE the chocolate crunch in the middle. Sprinkles are the finishing touch! The store is clean and the Owner is nice and friendly. We will be back! Thank you for helping to make my daughters birthday special with your amazing custom birthday cakes.

Tried to come by ten minutes till close at 8 and they were closed early, disappointing. Went to coldstone instead they’re open till 10pm!

Ordered an ice cream cake for my sons 15th birthday last week. He had no input on what the cake should look like so my niece offered her opinion and so did his dad! We gave them general ideas and told them to have fun with it! They delivered and then some! We all, minus my son, loved his cake and thought it was amazing! The manager did an amazing job and was exactly what we were looking for! They have awesome staff at the Palm Harbor location!!

All the ladies who work here are good representatives of the Carvel company. The man who just fought and harassed a customer over a milkshake, however, made us very uncomfortable and we probably wont return. Apparently they dont make milkshakes so dont ask.

I just got the best custom ice cream cake there! Management really listened to my specific requests and I got it just like I wanted it! My sister really loved the cake and it was much fresher than any we have purchased from the supermarket. I highly recommend!!

Extremely rude manager. Yelled at me to put my mask back on as I was eating my ice cream in an empty store. When there clearly is a sign that says you can lift down your mask while eating. I was not upset to put it on and did so. However a manager should never simply yell at you to put your mask on like youre a child but rather politely tell you to put your mask back on. Horrible experience and will not be back. Also, the store did not have a nice smell almost like mildew.

The staff 10 minutes prior to closing were very rude and inconsiderate. They complained about serving, then while serving kept mentioning their closing time. I left and went to Strachans Ice Cream & Desserts - Palm Harbor.

Was so excited to find a Carvel being that all the ones near me are closed down. Order 7 cups. Soft chocolate ice cream wasnt working. Got hard kind instead. Very disappointed. Tasted old. 6 of the 7 were thrown away after a few bites. Wasted 20 bucks. Worker was nice so thats why I didnt do 1 star

I just took my daughters to get the limited time hocus pocus milkshake! They came out amazing and the guy working was very nice. Carvel has always been my favorite ice cream place! Will definitely be returning soon! Thanks so much!

This place was great. I ordered a custom ice cream cake for my son’s birthday party. Vanilla on vanilla with rainbow sprinkles inside. He’s not a chocolate fan and most store bought ice cream cakes have a layer of chocolate in them. The cake was delicious! The ladies in the store where very helpful and really sweet. I’ll be back soon for my daughter’s birthday cake. Very reasonable prices too ❤️

Great place to find a special treat! You know you deserve it! My personal favorite, the Black Raspberry is always a good choice, but you gotta go and decide for yourself!

I went it to the store at around 5pm and asked for Boss Milkshake. The employee on duty to me, We are out of the milkshake stuff. I know we have some more, but I dont know where it is. I would have to call my boss to ask where it is. Im thinking maybe this employee shouldnt be left by themselves to run the store if they dont know where things are in the back. Totally ruined my first visit to a Carvel ice cream store. I had to settle for something I didnt really want and gave me a bad impression on how the company is run.

Wow, this was absolute dynamite! I brought my son here on a whim because I always loved Carvel from growing up in NY. It was more than a walk down memory lane as the menu choices have exploded. Oh my goodness everything is so good. I cant think of any other ice cream place that has actual black cherry topping (that was nice) and my sons sundae was a masterpiece. Theg still have their amazing ice cream cakes and if you havent had one, that just aint right. The parlor was clean and the gentleman who helped us was friendly and attentive. We cant wait to go back.

Cant go wrong with Carvel!! Both my mom and I grew up eating Carvel in NY. The only reason this isnt a 5 star rating is that this location does not do the rotating flavors. For example the window currently shows soft serve gingerbread but you only have it in hard ice cream. Soft serve pistachio was always my favorite. Please consider carrying the flavored soft serve besides chocolate and vanilla!

If you come from the New York area it will be a taste from your roots. Carvel is number one in my books delicious creamy good ice cream. As far as Im concerned no other can compare!!

Staff is not trained. The girl working wouldnt scoop out ice cream, because it was too hard. She couldnt answer any questions, basically she didnt want to be there. Poor customer service skills.

Do not go here. Staff were not wearing gloves or masks during covid-19. Not even the girl that was decorating cakes had gloves or mask on. Not only were they going against CDC regulations but the staff was very rude and argued with us. Ice cream cakes were labeled wrong prices and they refused to give us the price that was on the cake. We were told to leave the store when we showed them the other cakes marked the same price. Not a way to run a business. Will not be returning and will not recommend this place to anyone.

Took about 2 minutes literally for this blonde girl to come to the front as me and another guy waited. Just walked out and stood there? Then didn’t have what I wanted. So I ask a question and she just stared like I asked her a calculus question for few seconds then said like nooo. I Settled for just another flavor. While she scooped it out with hair down and no gloves on. Either this girl was stoned or has nothing going on up top.

Ice cream was so so. Cones not to tasty. Peanut Butter Chocolate chip 🍪 cookie dough shake was Meh.

I wish I could give it a zero. For over 40 years Ive considered Carver Ice Cream the king of pistachio ice cream. I got some last night and it had no nuts... I was shocked when the clerk told me they only do the flavoring now with no pistachio but somehow raised the price. Another example how executives cutting corners lose loyal customers. They will never see another dime from me.

Very bad customer service I ordered the unicorn shake it tasted very bad no flavor at all it doesn’t look like the picture and then I told her I don’t like it I would like to get something different and then she said she already made it I was like that’s not my problem it’s not good it doesn’t taste good so I would like something else and she wanted to charge me for it ! The manager in this store is beyond rude and should never speak to people the way he does regarding having a face covering with out finding out if the person has a valid reason for not having one and if they dont than he should respectfully ask the customer to use one ....DISGUSTING AND SHAMEFUL

Such a frustrating experience! After checking 3 grocery stories for the Sinfully chocolate cake (just chocolate, crunchies, chocolate and fidge icing around the top), I called to order it from this store. I repeated the order at least 8 times. The employee was not listening and it was so loud in the background I could barely understand him. He got his manager on the phone. Again I repeat the order this time 6 times!! He keeps telling me they cannot do what I am asking. This cake is sold in stores all over so it is common, should be simple. I used to work at the Dale Mabry one when it was open and we were never allowed to treat customers like that. Most definitely will not ever be visiting this store for any reason.

I just called this place recently to ask politely for a custom made cake to have an immediately resounding no, I know its Christmas Eve and that no one is gonna wanna make a cake- it was a cake dated towards the 29th of December- rudely was cut off. Whoever is on the phone, really didnt want to deal with anything right now.

Very clean inside. We were the only ones there. Brought back many memories, as I havent been to a Carvels in many years, not knowing there was one close to me

I was a hard working employee here. I was aquainted with many of the regular customers who will recognize me and I usually put a smile on their face. The management even reminded me when I quit that I was the hardest worker. 4 girls before me quit because of the management. I guess I didn’t put the clues together to quit before they started to bully me. A bunch of things happened (including bleach incidents, checks for people who don’t work there, and the manager never showed up to work and depended on six young unexperienced teenage girls to run the place) which led me to tell corporate about some of those things and I got in trouble for it. The managers wife (who doesn’t work there) called me during work to harass me about how I told corporate and retaliated against me for what I told them, that led to me hysterically crying in the middle of my shift to the point where I couldn’t serve customers and my coworker did. After she harassed me, for a good hour, she wanted to remind me the call was about uniforms so I wouldn’t open my mouth or something in that regard. I quit in the middle of my next shift because they were calling me again fighting with me. I’m never stepping foot in that place again.

Disclosure: this is only a review of my experience with a cake ordering. This is no reflection in the quality and taste of their icecream...I posted two separate reviews. The first review is a detailed version where as if you want the basic summary of what happened then you can skip more to the bottom and skip all the details. So here goes..Long Version ReviewOn Friday I ordered a icecream cake for my wifes 30th Bday,which was basically a week in advance. I called back on Saturday to possibly change the cake to a bigger size. They said they already made it so I was ok with that. So they calmed they had it ready basically a week before the event.The day of the event came up and I go to pick up the cake just a couple of hours before the birthday. The young man working the counter immediately found my order slip and went back and forth to the freezer in the front full of cakes and to the back. He went back and forth a couple of times and then got someone on the phone and 20 minutes later pulled a cake out of the freezer in the front that had no writing on it. Im not sure if they wait to put the writing on the cake until you pick it up but there was no writing on the cake box or cake to indicate whether that was my cake since there were so many cakes in the freezer.The young man said he was going to go in the back and see if that was the right cake. He eventually comes out and said that was my cake but that they would need to write the happy birthday message on it. The girl working there went in the back and wrote on it and brought it back up. As she sat it on the counter the Happy Birthday message looked like it was done by an 8th grader but I was willing to look past that.After I paid for the cake,I grabbed it and looked more closely and saw what appeared to be a finger smudge on the top of my cake. I asked what that was and the girl immediately said,That wasnt me and I replied, I dont care who it was,I just want to know what it is, I dont know if she was embarrassing or trying to hold her to give with the way I was handling the cake but she just went on saying she cant be here right now and went to the back. The young man apologized and continued to say, I can fix this. I told him I just wanted a refund . If they would have fixed it before I saw it,there would have been no issue. However, after seeing what seems to be a finger smudge in my cake it turned me off and I just wanted my money back. He eventually gave me my money back after persisting he could fix it.Im sure there are people who have had good experiences with ordering a cake but that was not the case with me and I would not trust delegating the responsibility of a cake to this location. The young workers there tried the best they could to handle the situation and fix it but unfortunately the experience was ruined.Shorter versionI order a cake a week early. The day I picked it up they couldnt find it after 20 minutes. They eventually found it and took it to the back and wrote the message on it last minute. They brought it back up and with a less than mediocre birthday message. I paid for it and then looked and there was a finger smudge in the cake. Words were xchanged between the workers and I,(nothing hostile) and I had to ask for my money back. I would not trust ordering a cake through this location.

The two female employees were extremely rude. I almost walked out but my significant other didnt want to leave. We have never been here before and we also just moved to the area so we ate looking for places we can frequent. We walked in and did not get greeted which is fine, we took some time to look over the menu and by the time she was done serving the guests ahead of us we were ready to order. Two gentlemen had walked in and immediately they were helped without even asking us if we were ready or anything. They came in after but got helped before us. So the next girl comes up and takes our order I told her what just happened but she blew me off. At this point I wish I hadnt even spent 11.00 on ice cream. The entire experience was terrible.

Liberty the best I cream cake in the world. Moved from Rochester NY to Tampa Florida.. only thing I wish is they had them avaible not just at their store. But at Walmart etcc....

A little hard to find at night because the sign wasnt lit. Walked in the door with my handicapped daughter that uses a cane to walk, and between the floor being flooded from what looked like a lazy attempt to mop the floor, and the ice cream being typical cardboard bucket ice cream, we decided to move on.
